Pros (+) Convenient to shops and restaurants in downtown Carmel. The tray of coffee, tea, assorted berries, and croissants was fresh and delivered to the room slightly earlier than stated earlier at the time of check-in. For Carmel, it was a good place to stay for the price paid.
Cons (-) The heat was hard to control. The plumbing throughout the property is very noticeable particularly at the popular 6:30 awakening hour. The walls are not very well insulated; conversations within the building and outside on the street below can not be muted.

Pros (+) The front office lady was superb and extremely helpful. Our room heating had some issues and she upgraded us immediately to a very comfortable room. Cosy and warm place, nothing fancy or ultramodern. Fits the feel or Carmel in general.

Pros (+) staff was super friendly and the bed comfortable. location is close to the main street. breakfast in the room was nice (but only to the fact that there was no lounge or lobby, more pragmatic than anything else).
Cons (-) Walls paper thin, breakfast itself was nothing really, noise in the streets, bed quite small for a queen sized, curtains didn't close entirely, bathroom super small! Way too expensive for what you get. Pool was drained and looked horrible.

Pros (+) Perfect location in the heart Carmel. Center of all shops and restaurants. Slight ocean view in our room and could hear the waved when it was quiet at night. Great service, free breakfast delivered to your room, tremendously clean, cozy and comfortable.
Cons (-) The structure is outdated and the bathrooms feel very outdated, but you'll never really notice or care due to the 5 star cleanliness, service, location and value. Breakfast could be better, but right next to plenty of great places to eat that you can walk to.
