Pros: The staff is incredibly kind, I felt like a king during my stay. Room service is the most professional, give that man a raise! And for the massage guy too! The room itself was beautiful, the bed is huge, and they always left fresh fruits for us on the table. The breakfast was so delicious, I couldn't stop stuffing myself, and every bakery product is made by the hotel restaurant. There's always live music, pianos, violins, it really suits the place.

Pros: Our stay at the new york palace was absolutely perfect ! The staff team is incredibly nice and careful, the breakfast the morning really tasty and a lot of choice, the room was splendid with a beautiful view on budapest and a kindly welcoming, the confort of the bed and bathroom vanities 10/10. Pros: we initially booked a room in the new wing, gorgeous room and bathroom with big bathtub, no view. we upgraded to a room in the main building; beautiful room, smaller bathroom, still no view really, I'm not sure the upgrade was worth it. The property is absolutely breathtaking. the neighbourhood isn't too upscale but we didn't even feel like leaving the hotel. The spa was incredible, the restaurant beyond words. I would go back in a heartbeat.

The breakfast was so delicious, I couldn't stop stuffing myself, and every bakery product is made by the hotel restaurant. There's always live music, pianos, violins, it really suits the place.
Cons: The shower was terrible. I tried not to flood the bathroom with water, but it was impossible. We asked for a toilet paper in the room, but they forgot about it (that's a mistake I can forgive though). The pool could use a renovation. The orchids they have are beautiful, but they keep it a way that cuts the overall lifetime of the flowers, that's wasting. And there was an unidentified splatter on the wall, most of it was cleaned, but I hope it wasn't blood? They use two smaller matresses on the bed instead of one big, and it was a bit uncomfortable, when we tried to cuddle.

The Corinthia is a beautiful hotel - but maybe we’ve been spoiled in other boutique hotels with nicer touches (no turndown, no coffee / tea, complimentary water on 1st day only). In all, was a bit disappointed in value for money.

Cons: When we arrived to celebrate our anniversary, we were told we had been allocated a twin room as requested. I showed the staff our confirmation and we were told there were no other rooms available unbelievably until the following day. We returned mid afternoon next day and asked if our new room was ready to be told none available. After insisting they look again an upgraded room was miraculously found to which we moved. Upon checkout we had been charged the upgrade price but only for one of the two nights due to our inconvenience. Do not plan to stay there again.

Pros: The view was incredible. Being able to open the doors to see the Parliament building and the Danube was amazing. It's close to a tram line right out the door and a large grocery store just down the street. Quiet at night. Had everything we needed. Breakfast was fantastic too! Close to walk up to the castle or to the chain bridge to head over to Pest side. Restaurants are close so you don't need to go far for food.

Cons: The air conditioning was a bit mild for us. It never got really refreshingly cool. It was not bad just wish it got colder. Especially when it was so hot outside. Very occasionally there was a sewage smell. It was very brief and not all the time but it was there from time to time. We opened the doors outside to get fresh air when it happened.

We went to the New York cafe which exceeded our expectations with its beauty. Went for a trip to the day spa which I think is a must do for everyone who stays there- it was great. The rooms were clean and decorated very nicely! After travelling Europe going between other hotels and hostels this was one of the highlights. Budapest itself was amazing and I’m hoping to be back there soon.

How the hell can be offered an apartment complex as a 5* hotel???? As i arrived the front desk told me i have NO booking in the Hotel, i have a booking in the apartment complex one block further. As i asked the guy at the front desk he sad they have NO star ranking cause its an apartment complex. This is scam!

Cons: The residence area seems to be deliberately made a bit scuzzy in order to make the hotel seem nicer. It would take very little effort to paint the walls for example in the residence area the same as those in the hotel (especially when the 5th floors are connected!) are not to do so seems to be petty and unnecessary. The gym (which is in the hotel) is also a bit odd, being open plan straight onto the corridor - but all the kit works OK, just a bit like being on display...

Cons: The only thing that is should not be in an modern society - manager need to took your card number (that is ok) and CVV and putt it a computer till you check-out. For pre-authorization you must use a terminal. No one must give anyone to save his data even for a minute. It is not enough to swear to client that it is safe. If tomorrow someone will buy smth by my card i will never prove that some manager took my card and screen my cvv. Manager says it is normal, well it is not, guys, i have been all over the world for one hundred times and even at small village of Sri-Lanka, or luxury 5stars of Maldives, anywhere in Europe no one took my CVV physically. This is NOT a minus for the guys from reception, they just do those work. It is about top-management. It was so unpleasant situation. The hotel is very nice.

Cons: This was our second stay it this hotel - the first time being 4 years ago. The hotel property during this visit seemed not to have aged well over the ensuing years, and now felt tired and due for a renovation. For example, a support bar in the shower/tub was loose, a light bulb in the bath was burnt out, a door handle to the balcony was missing, the telephone in the room was dead when we arrived, and internet service in the hotel went out for almost a day. The staff did act as quickly as they could to address these issues where possible.

I had an issue using the safe & a staff member came to the room to go through the set up step by step- I had messed up somehow- and only left when all was in order. Cons: The WiFi in the room barely works. Our room was not cleaned properly at all. Papers, empty bottles were left on the same spot. Towels were not changed. We had to ask 4 times to get clean towels. Basically, we were disappointed as we feel that we paid quiet a lot for what it is worth. We will probably never stay here again.

Pros: When we arrived we discovered it undergoing major foyer renovations Reception was poor ,congested and noisey .Had we been advised of this work we would have stayed elsewhere .In fairness to Mercure they responded positively to our complaint at corporate level and the manager provided a free airport transfer .Hotels must tell guests when they are to do major works rather than just expect them to put up with it .One could have expected to work to be done in winter not in the middle of summer

Cons: The restaurant staff working there at breakfast at the weekend didn't know much. The pancake machine was turned off, and I asked a staff member if it was working and she didn't know. One of the housekeeping staff tried to come into our room, without even knocking. Besides these two incidents, I enjoyed my stay in the hotel. The swimming pool could do with a refurb.

No one even looks up when you enter, The staff seemed completely unable to raise a smile. Not grumpy just uninterested. Budapest has, unfortunately a reputation for this. The staff at you hotel did nothing to dispel this. The building work that was going on also really enhanced the experience.

Pros: Location is ideal, hotel ambience is great, staff are polite and courteous. Infact the gent at the reception in the night ordered food for me from a local restaurant and also paid . All this was done when we were out late and couldn't order any food from outside and the restaurants closes at 11pm. Thanks very much for the lovely service

Cons: Cleaners : they didnt take our room service away for 2 days even though they came in to clean. They only remade our beds and took a bin out, they didnt take any other rubbish. They came into the room even with the 'do-not-disturb' sign. There was no night porter or security guard at the entrance at night

Cons: Wasn't expecting to pay for use of wine from the mini bar ,wasn't explained while check in. They ask you at the check out and we had to pay 5 Euros . It's not the amount but should have explained it while check in . Offcourse won't be visiting the hotel again in future.

Access to the bath house is so convenient and guests get discounted entry, it's wonderful to walk down in your big terry cloth robe and enjoy the bath house, towels are also provided by the hotel, added perk. Tram is directly across the street and allows access to all directions in the city. Views are stunning of the bridges and river. We were there in November so not crowded at all.

Cons: Very old with signs of deferred maintenance. E.g. The upstairs bathroom leaked and made a mess of our bathroom. The good thing is the hotel staff came right away and fixed the problem. The location of hotel is far from the major tourist attractions as it is on the Buda side of the river. The SPA IS A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT: it reminds me an old hotel swimming pool with freezing cold water.

Cons: The furniture in the rooms is shabby chic, looks like the original furniture from 1918. Despite the furniture it's comfortable and the linens are clean and good quality. They could use new pillows, they are down but very flat.
