Cons: Black out curtains needed as at the break of dawn my room was light and the curtains made no difference. My shower area was very small, if I was any bigger than a UK 16 I would have had issues.

Pros: Hotel is actually pretty, but I selected this property based on WiFi, which was rated “Excellent” and fitness center. Th WiFi was most disappointing, I kept losing the signal and when I had it, it was pretty low. The fitness center is open 9am to 9pm, which I think only works if you are on vacation or have an 8am to 5pm job. Breakfast was good, but I only had it the first day. I was out of the door well before it opened the others.

Pros: I loved the fact that the smoking area was close to my bedroom (on the third floor) and that I did not have to go all the way to the ground floor for a cigarette. The breakfast could have offered more fruit, but it was generous, and I felt welcomed. The location was central, but a bit far from where I was working.

Cons: Some items (pastry) of the breakfast buffet were exhausted and when I asked the staff member to bring more he replied that they do not have them any more. This happened at 6:20! (20 min after the start of the breakfast) This is unacceptable! When I asked to prolong my check-out time, the first reception worker refused (quoting that the next day the hotel was fully booked) without showing even a slight attempt to consider my request. I later asked another employee and got a positive reply. There was smell of mold in one location of my room. Strongly overpriced, considering the level of facilities and service.

Cons: Some staff: One lady I asked for assistance in trying to make an online booking from the computer - no help. I asked if she could please help print something out for me - NO. The location was way too far from a bus stop or the main downtown. The 422 bus that was the closest for us to be able to take to IBIS Budget stopped running by 18:00 and then we were left to walk the streets at night with packages and luggage for 1/2 hour after our last bus at Rudoplatz. This is once we found a path, got our phones working with GPS. The first night it took nearly 2hrs to get home walking the streets of Braunschweig until nearly 1am....agonizing to make to the hostile...almost took someone's offer for a ride, but knew better since I had no idea who they were. Plus we had a very large Suitcase, one carry-on and backpacks. This was an awful experience!

Cons: Room not ready despite late arrival of which reception was aware of. Rubbish left in cupboards and beds not made ready. Staff very rude. Advice given: not to travel late at night with young family...(?) Asked for additional bottle of water (as it was hot night) but informed only 1 bottle available per room... (?) Felt more like being in a really chilled out dormitory but not in the hotel. Not what you expect when traveling wit kids.
