Pros: Comfortable b&b set on a small farm with pool and tennis court. I loved the orchards, vineyard, vegetable garden. Staff and owners so welcoming and warm hearted. We were privileged to enjoy some delicious home made port. Generous breakfast with local farm produce and, once again, home made jams. Excellent value for money.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Everything was great. The setting, the pool, the room, the breakfast. Owners were so kind and helpful. We were on a motorbike and they gave us a lift into town. A glass of homemade Port was shared which was lovely.
Cons: We had great problems finding it. Don’t take any notice of where google maps says it is. It’s at least 4 km from there up above Branganca Wonderful setting.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed 2 nights at Quinta da Boa Venture. Vera and Antonio are very warm and kind hosts. We had the best breakfast on our whole trip! Vera took care of us very much. Whether with vegetables from the own garden or an umbrella. As a farewell gift she gave us a bottle of port wine, which reminds us back in Germany with every sip of our beautiful stay even if the weather was not so nice. Hopefully we will come back soon! Warm greetings Karen & Jörg

Pros: hospitality, breakfast, bathroom, ambiance
Cons: no minor point whatsoever
10,0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we arrived we were met with hospitality, friendliness and an ambience that made us feel immediately welcome. Dona Vera and Asa were quick to attend to all our requests as well as allowing us to taste their own port! Wow ! Sr Antonio greeted us with a carafe of his red wine too! We stayed for 3 nights and found the breakfasts not to be missed. Home grown fruits , breads , cakes and wandering the beautiful grounds of their property was so peaceful . Beds and pillows very comfortable and only a short pretty drive into Braganca
Cons: The GPS dropped out coming into town so the property was a little difficult to locate at first
10,0 Excellent
Pros: At the Quinta da Boa Ventura you will feel at home! Dona Vera and Sr. António will go beyond the line of duty to make sure you have a pleasant and relaxing stay at their home. The facilities are fantastic and allow guests to have all privacy required. For breakfast you will have freshly picked fruit, jams and conserves prepared by Dona Vera, a variety of homemade cakes, bread and local delicacies - make sure you allow plenty of time for your breakfast!

Pros: Accommodation was clean, well presented, modern and everything worked as it should. It was a pleasant oasis of calm, located close enough, but not too close to Bragança. The owners were most pleasant, and nothing was too much trouble for them, they tried really hard to ensure that our every need was met - they were really nice and couldn’t do enough for us.
Cons: Some information on the local facilities, especially places to eat would have been useful, but with Wi-fi we were able to research anything we wanted and the owners did say that if there was anything we wanted to know, then we only needed to ask.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This b&b is a little gem in a wonderful setting. The hosts were so welcoming and could not do enough for us, including trying their homemade port and fresh fruit from the garden. As we were on a motorbike our hosts didn’t mind dropping us off in Bragança so we could enjoy an evening meal in the old town. In fact when we came back one night there was a pot of herbal tea awaiting us on the terrace, such thoughtful people. My goodness the breakfast was fantastic, much of it homemade and all of it from local produce. The choice was amazing and the breakfast room overlooks the terrace, making it a very leisurely and enjoyable experience. All in all we give this a 10/10, would highly recommend it and will definitely be back.
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like about the property.

Pros: The breakfast was excellent and the hotel restaurant's gourmet meal exceeded our expectations.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent both in location and quality of food and choice. The restaurant was superb - they made a fuss of us when they discovered it was our anniversary. Not at all cheap as you would expect from a Michelin star but the restaurant manager made the experience really special.
Cons: The only thing really was that the water wasn't hot enough for me. Also they charged us double for the room over two nights but luckily we spotted it before we left and they were very apologetic.
Hotel Santa Apolonia - Bragança - Building
3
8,9 Excellent (932 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Santa Apolónia is located halfway between historical Bragança and the IP4 motorway. It offers quiet accommodation with free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour reception and free on-site private parking. The air-conditioned guest rooms of the Hotel Santa Apolónia are simply decorated with wooden furniture. All rooms have a TV with cable channels and a work desk. 10,0 Excellent
Pros: Close to polytechnic institute
6,3 Good
Pros: The ladies who work there were extremely nice. Breakfast was very good. I love the fact that it had lactose free dairy. The hotel was very clean in general.
Cons: The pictures are deceiving, it seemed like a great 3 star hotel when photographed, but when we arrived, the room was ugly, furniture was old and VERY creaky. The frigobar makes a lot of noise and it goes on throughout the night, which made it VERY hard to sleep. Rooms aren't soundproof so we could listen everything outside. At 3 am there were refrigerator noises from our room and maybe other people rooms as well, and banging noises from people walking up the stairs or through the corridors. The male receptionist - which I believe is the owner - seems extremely frustrated with his job. He wasn't nice at all, at the check in he acted like he was doing us a favour. At the check out we asked for more time to get ready because we were loaded with stuff and he refused. We still were slightly late and he started pressuring us to leave, calling the hotel room 27 mins past noon. When asking for special requests, my husband asked for a surprise, balloons or petals because we were checking in in the date of my birthday. He said no. When I booked my room, it said I had a bath, so I even bought bathbombs to use there. When I arrived, it only had a shower. It's similar to low-cost hotels that I've stayed in downtown Porto, and definitely not at the same level as 3 star hotels that I've stayed in the past. And the arrogance from the owner made it even worse. I guess that's why there are few visitors. Note: this review is in anonymous because booking isn't allowing to show my identity, but I've stayed from 13-15 Jan and my name is Barbara Pinto.
8,8 Excellent
Cons: Air con was quite noisy, pillow was very flat.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: It is one of the best hotels in downtown Braganca frequently used for the business guests of Politechnical Institute of Braganca. Decent clean very family atmosphere.
Cons: Lack of salads - fresh vegetables during breakfast although this breakfast in reality was much more generous than common Portuguese standard in this class of hotel in major cities. Staff very kind, very nice and only the hotel owner speaks English. Indeed it is better value for money service that the one you shall experience in most similar Hotels in Porto or Lisabon.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was really close to the bus station, located in calm area. Room was clean and spacious. Simple breakfast with choice. Restaurant and bar at the hotel. Shops are also very close.
Cons: Maybe not all personnel spoke English. There could be more choice at the breakfast.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Good hotel, convenient location. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: The refrigerator in the room was in a location where it was not plugged in nor was it possible to plug it in. When we shifted things around for access to an outlet the refrigerator did not cool properly.

7,0 Good
Pros: Once we actually found this pretty restored old water mill, the location was idyllic. the staff were pleasant, helpful and provided a good breakfast.

7,5 Good
Pros: friendly, wifi is fine, shower etc fine. Good location, adequate breakfast is included. Good price for central location.
Cons: Closes - you have to ring the doorbell to get in and at night I had to stand in the rain and wait till someone came. Also, very narrow entrance and stairs to get to the elevator, which should be mentioned when they say there is an elevator. Not always someone at the desk because they seem understaffed and multitasking.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Nice, clean place. Located in the center of the city, with easy access to everything. The breakfast was simple, but good (though the coffee tastes weird). Overall, I'd definitely recommend.
Cons: Nobody on staff appeared to speak English, which is fine, I'm just pointing it out in case it's relevant for you. Also, if I understood correctly, the hotel info said that there was free parking on site, but there was only street parking, which you need to pay for during weekdays. Finally, the bed was a bit uncomfortable -- it was hard and springy.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: All good

Cons: Noise at night when the trash people came. 20 min of waste
6,0 Good
Pros: Good location, decent value for money, and nice breakfast. The beds are pretty comfortable, too. There are cheaper places to stay in Bragança, but this one provides the best value for what you're spending if you need something nice and comfortable in the centre.
Cons: The shower temperature was all over the place. It kept going up by several degrees at random intervals, and it burned me pretty badly at first. Definitely the lowest point of an otherwise very positive stay.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent Customer service very friendly and efficient Quite area and comfortable bed and pillows. Although it is one of the few places that still has rooms where you are allowed to smoke it would not be a bad idea to place an ashtray near the entrance for those that smoke but don’t like to smoke in the rooms.
