Cons: Everything relating to food and drink was very expensive. Lunch-time menu would have benefited from a few more simple options.

Cons: place is showing its age, and its cost for rooms and meals are far too high. breakfast for 1 person was 50 euro, about $60 USD. the ocean view room i reserved from kayak was $550, and the only view of the water was from a side window; you had to right up next to the window to even see the water or beach. when i complained, they said that since you can see the water from the window, it qualifies as ocean view. we got misled from the check in girl as to when our room would be ready, and got fast double talk as to what happened. there also appears to be some wiggle room between what we learned about the room from kayak and what the hotel provided. kind of a bait and switch. we won't be back.

Pros: Best location to enjoy beach while able to lounge by the pool.

Cons: Not much, maybe slightly overpriced drinks.

Pros: There was a personal written welcome letter laying on the bed with a small gift (shopping bag in fabric). The breakfast was really good with a nice variety of choices. Very nice sea view from the hotel room window.

Pros: Excellent breakfast. Very large and comfortable bed. Great view from our balcony. Very convenient location for beach access and for walking into town along the sea promenade. Very polite and friendly staff, always ready to help whatever the problem. Very good pool and spa facilities.

Cons: Purports to be a hotel that welcomes dogs but despite 20 euro per day charge, dogs not allowed in any of the public areas. Insufficient plug sockets for guest use in the bedroom. Very expensive restaurant and spa treatments. Bathroom a bit cramped for a wannabe luxury hotel.

Cons: It is hard to imagine the room has ONE socket for charging. And the socket is by the entry door behind the luggage rack. No charge port by the desk or by the bed. I called and they claimed there are by the bed. I asked them to come to the room to show me. And guess what ? They found NONE by the beds. I asked the hotel to provide me a surge protector with multiple outlet. And they said they do NOT have any? The hotel is so old with the location they do not bother to treat you as a human being ! As a five star hotel?

Pros: The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, the room is a nice size and clean, and the location of the hotel ideal.

Cons: I unfortunately have to say that this was one of the worst hotel experiences for me, and honestly I’m not hard to please. I was terribly uncomfortable with the ceiling height and felt claustrophobic in many areas of the hotel, especially the hallways, spa level, and first room we were put in (the dreaded 102 - avoid at all cost). Unless we were in the bar with large windows, or the outdoor areas, the poor design of the hotel honestly made us feel like we were underground or in a cave. There is also a dire need for renovation, in the hallways and spa floor especially. As mentioned above, the room 102 is absolutely not acceptable for a 5 star hotel and should be turned into a storage room or something. It is a dark lair in the deepest corner of the building facing a cement wall and we woke up to a woman in the balcony next door looking directly in on us in bed. I will include a photo of the view (neighbor lady not included). The steak we had for dinner at the bar was also unacceptable. No presentation at all, just a tiny piece of beef on a very large white plate. For 32€ it was absurd.

Pros: Amazing staff... every outlet was wonderful. I used room service, Spa facilities, restaurant and had laundry done. Perfect.

Cons: That I had to leave.

Pros: The bed is really comfortable . The room is spacious . It is peaceful and quiet .

Cons: Just a small thing . My 12 year old daughter needed a fringe trim so we visited the hair salon downstairs . The lovely hairdresser was very efficient . It just took her a couple of minutes to shorten the fringe , but paying 15 euros was a bit much for something which took so little time . Apart from that , all was good .

Cons: Service at the reception desk. Rude, overcharged for breakfast, told liars, no apology. And spoke badly behind my back as reception ladies did not realize that I do understand French! Unlikely to be back.

Cons: Breakfast- the restaurant not busy and the staff were busy chatting! Could not work the coffee machine, eventually I was served some coffee. Paid €18 each but there was no cooked full breakfast. Not pleased at all. Terrible value. Hotel is a bit antiquated.

Pros: The location of the Hotel was perfect. At Biarritz centre, just at 5 minutes from the beach on foot. The staff were so kind, they spoke with us in English and Spanish whenever we needed it. In fact, they helped us with all the issues we had and gave us some orientation about Biarritz. Without any doubt, a good place to stay your holidays in Biarritz. And good quality/price.

Cons: Cleaning staff worked very well, but sometimes, we had lack of some stuff like toilet paper (at least till the next morning or the cleaning up but it only happened one time). Nevertheless, all was very good.

Pros: Location is excellent, right in the centre of Biarritz. Everything is within easy walking distance. Internet is good. Parking is convenient, spacious and almost next to the hotel. Breakfast, for a typical French hotel is acceptable, but below the normal Mercure standard.

Cons: The hotel is completely outdated. It gives a dirty feeling when one enters the room. It is old, the air conditioning might even be a a danger for ones health, such is the smell coming out. The room smells bad, only after two days with open window and air conditioning disconnecvt became the smell somwhat normal. The beds are relatively small, even if the room is spacious. Towles in the bathroom ... advice is not to use them. There is no real economic reason to spare money just by using towles that are completely out of any use, not even in a 1* hotel. The hotel is below Mercure standard, which normally is very comfortable and clean. This hotel, in an excellent location in Biarritz and with a nice building should just do a make-over, and it would be a jewel.

Pros: Location is perfect. Really close to La plage and all shops and restaurants. Still quiet area. Nice cafe and bar 1st floor. Friendly staff trying to do the best. Spesially the General Mangager following up perfect !

Cons: Typically french breakfast: almost just baguette and jam. Looks like old fashioned check in system, with both paper and PC. Slow annoying elevator doors when closing.. I used the fantasic designed stairs instead. Weak AC at our room.

Pros: The sink in our bathroom was blocked so they did kindly offer us a new room, however the new room had terrible decor, was a little more dated and looked onto a parking lot. We really missed the beautiful street view from the first bedroom. Front staff were very helpful and friendly, and location is great for beach and shopping.
