Hostel City Center Sarajevo makes an excellent choice if you’re on a backpacking holiday in the Balkans. It’s conveniently placed under 1 mile from the city centre. From here you can walk pretty much anywhere in the area, visiting tourist attractions like the Bosnian History Museum and the Emperor’s Mosque, which are all within easy walking distance.

The Hotel Hills Congress & Termal Spa Resort offers a comprehensive range of spa facilities and beauty treatments. You’ll find it on Butmirska cesta, just under 5.5 miles from the centre of Sarajevo. It’s also close to the Ilidza Thermal Riviera where the spa waters originate, and you’ll also be able to visit Sarajevo Tunnel Museum, which is only a 5min drive away.

The cream of the crop in the city is Swissotel Sarajevo. It’s on Vrbanja thoroughfare, under 0.5 miles from the tourist attractions in the centre of the city. The National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a few hundred yards away, as is Ali Pasha’s Mosque. Railway Station Sarajevo is about 1 mile away from this hotel if you want to access public transport.

About 2.5 miles outside the city’s central neighbourhood is Pino Nature. It’s a modern architectural spectacle made from wood and glass A-frames, just over 400 meters from the base of Mount Trebevic in the countryside. Within a 2-mile radius are plenty of landmarks, like Latin Bridge and Gazi Husrev-Beg Mosque.
