Pros: The room was clean, comfortable, had everything we needed. Great location. We had really loud neighbours, but the front desk came and got them to settle down right away.

5,0 Okay
Pros: The location was actually not too bad, as we were walking distance from a lot of stuff.
Cons: The room was the size of a crack jack box! I have never seen such a tiny room!
1,0 Poor
Pros: The location
Cons: The hotel is outdated. Not sure how this is the highest rated hotel in halifax. I am definitely not pleased with the misleading star rating. This should be re-visited. So annoyed that I actually wish I could have gotten a refund and not stayed there
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The Lord Nelson is an old fashioned classy hotel with modern amenities. We especially enjoyed the decor of the lobby and mezzanine, and the hotel restaurant which was in the style of a classic English public house. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very nice and the beds comfortable.
Cons: Parking was a bit expensive at $28 (CAD) a day, and getting to and from the parkade was a bit of an ordeal, but being right downtown these things are expected. Many more positives to outweigh this one minor negative.

9,7 Excellent
Pros: We had a hiccup in our travel plans and needed to find a hotel pretty quickly for the night. Almost all the available options were too expensive or seemed a bit shady. We were very surprised by how comfortable the rooms and the beds were. And after several nights of chilly AC and stuffy air at other hotels, it was pretty nice to sleep with open windows. Redwood Grill was great for breakfast. Would have been nice if the check-in coupon was offered for breakfast or dinner (rather than just dinner).

Did not get a rash from chemicals in bedding/towels.
Cons: Shower head making high pitched sound. Old mattresses with one feeling uneven. Small TV. No microwave in the room but i guess it helps keep the rooms not smelling like an old kitchen. Fluorescent light bulbs. Traffic

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were great, and housekeeping was very accommodating

Pros: The breakfast was great. The Staff were very nice and had a great smile for the very early in the morning. She made you very comfortable and it felt as if she was your friend and was happy to be waiting on you. She kept asking if everything was ok and do you need more coffee. Great service.
Cons: Not a thing.

7,1 Good
Pros: Location, great room size for value. Full kitchen really had a full kitchen.
Cons: Lobby is so tiny and doesn't feel like hotel. If you are looking to sleep in, keep in mind the very loud construction directly across the street starting at 7am (summer-ongoing 2015) When I got to my room there was a large soaking wet spot on the floor... When I asked I didn't get an answer.. Hmm..

Pros: Ease of check in and friendly staff
Cons: We had a room with a water view and when it rains there are major leaks at not only our window but quite a few rooms on the water side, so the bell staff told us. I am talking about a lot if water coming from the top of window well. We were given a new room down the hall. All this just before we left to go out for dinner and NYE celebrations thank goodness. Imagine coming back to that mess in the wee hours!! I suggest you check the weather forecast and if rain expected, ask for a room at the front and not waterside.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was comfortable and close to the hospital where we needed to go. We didn’t take advantage of the breakfast due to the fact that we had to leave early both days as we had things to do.

Cons: The rooms, just weren’t what I was expecting for the price. When booking online , it says “hold room with credit card. When you arrive you can pay cash , credit or debit. “ it was a fight. To be able to pay for it with my debit. It should also be stated on all websites that there’s a $250 damage deposit that they need as well.
