Cons: Condition of the room at initial check in was bad (toilet was not cleaned properly and thoroughly); when we told the front desk, we were told the housekeeping would clean it, but it was left uncleaned when we came back. Unacceptable for a five star hotel.

Breakfast was very good and the staff were excellent however see below for a slight negative which was dealt with by the management.
Cons: Breakfast when it was busy was chaotic on a few of the days we stayed. It felt like they were under staffed as the staff didn’t stop trying there very best. People we’re kept waiting for some time and tables weren’t cleared for long durations. It look like it needed someone to take charge and the entire team help with all parts of the service instead of being set to one job e.g. the person serving coffee just served coffee and walked past full tables on way back to the kitchen area instead of helping co-workers. We made a direct complaint to the management and it greatly improved for the remainder of our stay & the manager kept in touch with us regarding it so we were very satisfied with how it was dealt with.

Pros: The hotel is in a very central location and has an amazing rooftop pool. The room, even though small, was very clean and the bathroom, bedsheets and amenities were of very good quality.
Cons: The check in was a bit slow, perhaps only one person at the reception on a Saturday in a 5 star hotel is not enough. The shower was broken. It was not possible to open the window in the room. We were unable to turn on the lights and the air conditioning already starting from 30 minutes before our check our time, which obviously was not ideal.

Pros: When i initally got my room key, my room was 1 double bed, and a couch bed. I ordered 3 single beds on the website. I confronted reception. They double checked my booking absolutely no issue at all, changed my room to 3 single beds. No issue or hassle. Location location location. You are in the heart of everything!!

Pros: When i initally got my room key, my room was 1 double bed, and a couch bed. I ordered 3 single beds on the website. I confronted reception. The staff spoke English to a high standard and were extremely helpful in providing information and pointing us in the right direction. Pros: There is no doubt that this hotel is very well located in the gothic district on the famous la Rambla Street. All the main attractions were easily accessible - the wharf is not too far away and it is an easy walk past all the shops to Sagrada Familia. The staff were very helpful in making suggestions on where to dine and even helped us with reserving tickets to some of the places we wanted to see. We were after a boutique hotel - and Hotel Agues did not disappoint. Having jars of sweets available for guests was a nice touch. It was also great that the minibar in the room was no charge. Our room had a balcony - so it was lovely to be able to open the windows and stand on the Juliette balcony and watch passers by.

Cons: The standard rooms are quite small, just big enough for a bed and two bedside tables. However, they are sufficient comfortable for sleeping. My biggest complaint is the noise from the hallway. The walls are paper thin! You will hear everything in the hall, from someone walking by with flip flops to the late night party goers returning. Therefore, expect to have your sleep interrupted throughout the night.

Later staff were changed and when i asked if theres any possibility to get a water boiler he offered me a small water boiler behind the desk but it was broken. but so much better than the other rude woman reception

We loved the hotel itself and everything about it. Rooms were clean, large and well organized. There is a lovely bar on the top floor with excellent drinks. On top of that, the hotel is right off the Plaza Catalunya, where all the different buses meet. And it is on La Rambla, one of the most famous streets in Barcelona. There is a very nice restaurant literally next door and flamenco theater straight across the street. La Rambla is filled with stores, places to eat, ice cream shops, vendors and souvenirs. I totally recommend this hotel for its service and super convenient location.

Pros: The location is very central and therefore was an excellent location to enjoy the tourist areas of Barcelona from.
Cons: The main issue with the Hotel was the views and lack of window. We had asked from a balcony view but instead of getting this we got the exact opposite. We were at the back of the property and didn't even get a regular window. Instead we got a large sky-light with a retractable cover . That made the room feel very claustrophobic

Cons: - Rock hard bed was very unconformable - Lack of (working?) air con meant room was uncomfortably warm. - Noise travelled round hotel, movement and closing doors in hallway could be heard as if in the room - Lack of facilities in room such as kettle for tea and coffee - Initially put in room with 2 separate single beds rather than double, was then moved to a room with a double bed but room was so small door to hallway was almost at the foot of the bed. Moved into third (and final room) which matched up to what was booked - Overall didn't live up to expectations for a 4 star hotel.

Cons: This hostel has a very weird energy. First time when I stayed I got my internal fight with my thought and decided to not to rate. I came back 1,5month later as I’ve booked hostel many months before. And. It seems that everything is normal and then suddenly you get guy in his trainers under the female shower, guy praying on his rug at 6.00am in the middle of the room. Guy masturbating himself all night above you. Girl who got into a fight with her boyfriend and decided to sleep in the hostel and move the phone fight there. No thanks. It’s more like random people are living there then travelers on his way to somewhere. I didn’t felt very safe. First time in my solo long travel experience ;(.

It is great value for money, very close to the metro (Jaume I) and I would recommend for people who want to save money but not compromise on cleanliness or location. I stayed with my partner and we both would stay again. The hotel has lift access, towels are provided and although the rooms are basic most have beautiful bay windows - my room (211) had a balcony which overlooked the lovely, winding streets of Barcelona.

Cons: The hotel is located very close to a cathedral which means there are regular church bells that strike at least once an hour as well as this the hotel is in the middle of the busy Gothic Quarter that does get loud during the early hours of the morning. Cons: I didn't find the hotel online but the price was cheaper in booking.com so I booked the room online when I was in reception. I asked to see the room before booking it at the hotel but they gave us another room after the payment which was way smaller than the room they showed. Also they took my credit card info for 'possible damages' that we can give to the room which I didn't find secure. The room we stayed was the worse room I have ever stayed. I am 183 cm tall and my feed didn't fit in the bed because it was so small. The sound insulation is something the construction firm of the building is not aware of. You can even hear if your neighbor is peeing. Also the window was looking at the interior of the hotel which is depressing but it was the same with the room they showed me first so I already accepted it. In summary: definitely not recommended!

Cons: I was hoping to have a good night's rest, when I suddenly woke up very itchy and saw a huge brown bug that I caught and took to the reception, luckily I got a new room, but was stressed out that I will get the bugs again. One of the reception girls was very rude and doesn't really care about the guests, as well the maid, just speaks in Spanish and gets mad if you don't understand her. The walls are thin and you can hear a lot of the outside noise from people shouting and screaming. Almost no electricity sockets to charge your electronic devices in the rooms, no night lamps near the beds.
