Cons: "After thorough check (and hours at the airport) at the holiday destination, Dubai, my luggage was deemed lost. The DXB lost luggage staff helped me complete a 'lost luggage' report. However, the staff member told me that 'if' RwandAir found my luggage, I would be responsible for going to the airport as RwandAir does not have lost luggage delivery like most airlines. For the six days of my holiday, I waited for phone calls and checked emails expecting to hear from RwandAir. I heard nothing, RwandAir had made no effort of any kind to locate my luggage they had mishandled. Upon flying back home, I checked with the initial airport (DXB), the transit airport (Kigali), and my final destination airport (Brazzaville). My luggage was not in any of the airports mentioned. In each airport, and the RwandAir office at the Brazzaville airport, I presented the initial lost luggage form from the prior week and it was apparent that nobody, no airport, and no office was interested in finding my luggage. RwandAir, at no point, apologized for losing my belongings or in any way attempted to make up for seriously harming my holiday- not to mention the fact that it appears I will never see my possessions that were last seen being taken by RwandAir staff at the beginning of my holiday travels."

We were informed that our bags would NOT be delivered to us at our next destination, that the burden was on us to retrieve them AND there was no stipend or any type of refund to compensate us for the inconvenience. Since we were continuing our travel by road to Uganda, we had to pay extra to have a driver return to the airport the next day to retrieve and deliver our bags. This is very, very poor customer service!"

Cons: "Check-in closes one hour before your flight. Economy class: Food was a clingwrapped sandwich. The attendant gave me two bottles of a good South African wine. Security has gotten quite uptight at Kigali airport. They now stop your cab a couple hundred meters short of the airport, and have a dog check the vehicle. You have to pass through another security checkpoint at the entry to the airport building, and a third security into the boarding area. The final security check even takes away any empty bottles you have. And don't take any fingernail scissors in your handcarry, even if they have blunt points. You may have an hour or more wait in preboarding, and without water or bathroom excess. So takke care of these needs in advance."

Deplaning suggestion: Inited could take a page from other countries airlines and ask that we remain seated until theorie in front of us deplanes. Easier on everyone that way

Easy short flight from Johannesburg to Harare. Boarding was slow, flight attendants were friendly. They did a meal service on this short flight, including wine, which was pretty cool.

Loved the customer service and the fact that everything was on time, the served refreshments are a cherry on top

Flight was moved forward by 2 hours with 3 days notice. This meant I could not connect from flight from Johannesburg. So did not take the flight and drove to Kasane. Will never use Air Botswana unless absolutely necessary. Mark

There was no entertainment, but that is not expected on a flight less than 2 1/2 hours. Uber clean aircraft, good boxed meal and friendly flight attendants. Very please with the experience

This was all done in the office of the South African Airways who I assume was managing the Airlink flight."

The bus was still there but we were not allowed on. Also, the representative said the boarding was delayed 3 minutes. Actually they boarded early. All along way we were assured there was no problem making flight."

There was plenty of space as they were allowing NO one in economy to take a roller carry on. I was the second last person to board the aircraft because there was a long queue at Passport control with only one officer for a prolonged period. The man at the final boarding checkpoint, insisted that i was late because of shopping, and insisted on me catching a new flight the following day. He said that they had already filled up the plane with Stand By passengers, and my bags had already been off loaded. I had to beg him to allow me to board, and eventually he did. About 10 minutes after the scheduled departure time, the captain announced that they were waiting for one more guest, and the flight actually left about 20 minutes later then schedule anyway. This series of evens led me to believe that the man at the boarding gate was trying to elicit a bribe from me."

Cons: "we were in the plane for nearly 30 hours due to an air traffic controllers strike in Dakar. During that time we were only served two meals and a sandwich. And during the four hours on the runway in Gambia the crew seemed to disappear rather than offer drinks snacks etc. which would have helped. It seemed to us that SA Airways should have known about the strike before we left Johannesburg and made alternative arrangements rather than making decisions while we sat int he plan on the runway in Gambia and then backtracking to Ghana."

Cons: "The flight delay I experienced added 8 hrs to a 24 hour journey and despite assurances in Joburg from Lerate Lempe that I would be allowed access to the lounge at JFK airport, all I got was a 25 USD voucher in a rubbish restaurant in the terminal. Most of the customer service was poor (including the young lady who didn't take it upon herself to suggest next steps after informing me of the flight delay - her apparent lack of concern about that and time taken to rebook me a new flight was beyond belief). The food was substandard (quality and quantity given the 14hr journey) and in-flight entertainment didn't work for a couple of hours. The queues at JFK were slow moving, unnecessarily long and your people did not seem concerned with the fact that passengers had to stand in line for an hour at least to check in. To top that off, because your airline does not have the body scanners mandated by the US, all passengers had to have a secondary body search at the gate. Sufficing to say, SA Airways, you are being left in the dust by BA and Emirates."

The crew member tried to separate it while the owner of the other bag complained about me like I’d done it rather than it being the bags moving themselves during the flight. The flight attendant ripped my bag zipper in order to separate the bags. The other passengers bag was not damaged. He tried to fix it but dropped the zip and then pretended it was okay putting it back in the holdall. Kind of unhappy that my new back pack was damaged"

I won’t book British airlines again for international travel, I’ll stick to emirates."

I do not know what caused this delay other than Kenya Airways staff having seemingly no urgency to get us off the ground. On my return flight to Kigali a delay attributed to “operations” increased my layover from 8 hours to 12 hours. On top of the scheduled delay we were delayed an additional hour because boarding did not begin when it should have. I was also less than impressed with the movie selection on the plane. I will not be flying with Kenya Airways again and now understand why they were the cheapest option!"

Then my partner got sick and they refused to taxi us to hotel for the night but take a bus that leaves every three hours. Her sickness got worse and there was a Kenyan airlines doctor who evaluated her at the airport after waiting 40 minutes laying at check in with her crying due to pain. We had a medical release from the doctor saying she needed extra space to lay down but the check in manager refused to make room for her saying the flight is full and she would not upgrade her to accommodate the medical release because we had an economy ticket. My partner looked so bad that the flight crew considered kicking us off but eventually made the space for her to lay down and were helpful on the flight. This is this disgraceful and the worst experience I’ve had with any company."
