Cons: "Food was the same going to Dubai and coming back, so if traveler didn't like it then too bad, will be starving both ways."

Cons: "The crew were very slow in serving the food. They should probably ask who are the hungry most. As we got the last row to seat we were the last to be served when I was the most hungry. And the touch display was very low sensitive, like I had to touch it 4 times to select something.!!"

Cons: "The personalized, pleasant service of the "Dreamliner" wasn't there...but then, that's not what you expect on the bus. Everyone's just going where they're going, as quickly as possible. Getting screened at the Doha Airport was like a nightmare...a huge herd of hundreds of people sort of (but not quite, thankfully) getting pushed along, just a frantic scene, chaotic, nerve-wracking. If they spent more money on making that part of the experience more humane, for everyone, and less money on the glitz-y duty-free zone, maybe the airport would not have a sour taste in my mouth."

At first they wanted to change me $700 in excess baggage fees for a flight where the ticket cost ~$350. At that rate I could have walked to the counter of another airline and bought a new ticket with extra baggage included. I negotiated as well as dumped a lot of weight to still pay over $300. On most other airlines I would have been able to simply buy an extra bag for $100-$150. Unconscionable."

I asked no chicken or beef? she said no with no explanation. Usually they say " I apologize but we are out of the chicken option we have the fish and veggie option left which would you like?" also she took awhile to pick up our tray we had to flag her down to get it so I could go to the restroom."

Meals were quite good, definitely a lot better than average in-flight food. Really nice baggage check person ensured we had great seats and overall experience was really good."
Cons: "My wife's speakers weren't working, we tried both of our headsets in her output and anything with even a little base was super crackly and un-listenable. We ended up sharing headphones and a screen, which was awkward on a 13 hour flight. Otherwise, everything was fantastic!"

My flight schedules were changed few days before departure by Qatar Airways, but only thing I had to do was to confirm that I have noted, my seats and all the rest of details intact, excellent."

Cons: "1. rude staff - i stood in Jburg at the counter for 13 minutes (i checked my clock) while 8 staff ladies spoke among themselves in a myriad of languages. FINALLY one lady asked if i had been helped! I said no and she was clearly less than thrilled to be the one to help with my question. i literally just wanted to ask if my seat assignment was a window, middle or aisle, but it was like i was the bane of her existence and i interrupted their social hour. On my outbound flight (ORD to DOH) I also watched three staff members be beyond rude to guest after guest at the check in counter regarding baggage when they came forward to "re check-in" which was a new requirement for most people. There was a lot of general confusion on behalf of the consumers and the staff was NOT the least bit patient or helpful in explaining what they needed from us or why this flight had different procedures than normal. I still don't know why they were so fussy about baggage and made everyone re check in at the gate in fact. And they didnt do it to my baggage so i have no idea why they were so rude to some and completely left others alone. (didn't seem to have to do with size, carrying of electronics, i don't know?) 2. the physical flight - you changed my original flight time to something that was REALLY close for my connection from DOH to CDG, so you instead bumped me to a later flight without consulting me. it would have caused me to miss a connection flight I booked separately through EasyJet from Pairs to my home airport BIQ. I had to figure that out on my own. RUSH through Doha to make my 35 min connection and barely was allowed to board my onward Paris flight by the Qatar gate staff which was only cutting it close as a result of YOUR changes! Yet i was treated like i was somehow "late" and wouldn't be able to board ??? Again incredibly rude staff. Subsequently you lost my luggage because the connection was too tight. i landed on Friday and it didn't catch up to me until Tuesday. Not one person has said sorry or offered any restitution. And this is honestly what upsets me the most. I doubt anyone even reads this. pathetic. I work for a travel club and since Monday (so in 4 days) I have actively reached out to 4 clients to cancel and re-booked their Qatar airways flight to another carrier to get them to Johannesburg. They will be doing the same safari experience I did, but I will NOT recommend and book my clients on Qatar after my experience."

Now it's economy at front Business Class down the back. You pay thousands extra to be held back while economy disembark."

Cons: "There is definitely a difference in the way Economy passengers are treated in different sectors. for example, the flight from Chennai to Dubai or Dubai to Chennai - The crew is so rude and obnoxious. I dont blame them entirely, some of the passengers behavior may push them to be like that. But this is one of the sectors where emirates always runs in full capacity. The crew needs to understand that all passengers are not the same and they should be little polite to passengers."

Cons: "The crew served food after take off and then when they were free they started a party right behind us. They were loud giggly women on one side and a flirty couple on the other. One of them even started using my seat back as a support to show her colleagues, who spoke little English, what was a squat. In the process she shook my seat. Overall for a seven hour night flight from US to Milan, I could not get a minutes sleep."

I was ask to go to another person who issued me check in baggage sticker and told me to hand over your baggage to a person inside. At last he mentioned to not put any valuables in that bag. My carry on bag was just 1lb extra and the first person could have told me right away and I would have thrown away chocolates and brought down the weight to permissible limit. In general passenger do carry valuable stuff in carry on bag. I had to follow whatever I was told."

Cons: "The boarding process in ORT was a horrible fail. they didn't announce the boarding of first/business and by the time I arrived at my seat there was almost no overhead room left because people from economy put there bags in the business area. The bathroom was definitely not cleaned enough, I went twice where the floor was soaked, the seat was wet and the sink full of toothpaste. I understand that every passenger should be responsible enough to clean up after themselves, but it was not an enjoyable experience. The crew was friendly enough, but it didnt feel like the personalized service experience that is usually the case (where they introduce themselves, explain the do not disturb sticker etc). Also I think there was something wrong with my seat because it didnt "lay flat" all the way."

During our connecting flight in Athens our boarding passes wouldn't print at the self service computers and there was no one to help us so we had to go back out to the front desk. The airline representative was extremely rude. There was 5 employees standing around the computer with NO customers and when we asked if this was Turkish Airlines and if they could help, the woman (manager) responded "this WAS Turkish Airlines" as if they were done helping customers for the day (it was 9AM and our flight was leaving in 45 min). We explained that we couldn't print our passes and she ROLLED her eyes as if it was an inconvenience to help us. THEN on our flight from Istanbul to Chicago, a passenger died an hour into the flight and they placed the body on the seats behind us for over 10 hours! Nobody even told us what happened! We didn't know if they died from natural causes or if it was something else! They didn't offer to seat us somewhere else or even inform us they were placing the body there. We were completely shocked and uncomfortable the whole flight home. We couldn't eat or sleep. We're completely disgusted and scarred from this overall experience."

Pros: "The best airline to Europe! Period! Boing in the new 777 and has very comfortable seats with plenty of room for your feet even in economy class. Huge number of movies and TV shows. The food is excellent. Only missing part is to have some candies or chocolates for the 13 hour trip for San Francisco to Istanbul. You can not beat their price. Crew is very friendly and helpful at the same time. Slippers and socks they give you in economy class + cotton blanket of course make you feel you are 1st class traveler. What else? You name it and it is there. Will fly again with Turkish airlines."

In all waited around at the airport for more than 10 hours before we were finally carted off to a small hotel near by at 1230am in the morning. Very little to no information given throughout the whole process, stranded with parched throats, no luggage, clean clothes or toothbrush."

Cons: "I've flown Turkish a few times before, and they're generally pretty good for the price. This trip was different. Despite Turkish Airlines policies outlined in their "Customer Rights," I received no notification that the flight was delayed 3 hours, and there was no notification at the JoBurg airport until you go to the counter to check in. JoBurg staff - which are Menzies third-party contractors, not Turkish staff - were disorganized, uncommunicative, and unhelpful. Only one person at the check in desk seemed to have authorization to make any changes, so all other agents were running back and forth to speak with him, and not communicating with passengers. It took over an hour to get clarity on the situation and rebook my connecting flight to Washington for a different flight 8 hours later. The only compensation offered was one meal voucher worth R100 (roughly $7). They would not even look at other Star Alliance flights for early arrival in Washington, and said they were not authorized to consider upgrading my ticket. When I called the Turkish customer service, they essentially said "What do you want us to do about it? You have to submit a formal complaint." Boarding was totally disorganized. In theory there are boarding groups, but after business class and all the high-ranking loyalty members, it's pretty much a mad rush. This seems to be the common practice for Turkish now. In general, Turkish has a great entertainment system on all their long-haul flights, with tons of movies - including very new releases - music, games, etc. They also provide complimentary kits with socks, slippers, eye mask, earplugs and dental kit, even for economy passengers. The meals are fairly good for airlines. However, legroom in economy isn't great. I'm 6'1", and had difficulty getting comfortable with my knees jammed into the back of the seat in front of me. On this particular flight, I was in row 18. The cabin crew were frantic, disorganized, and shouting to each other across passengers. One half of our row was served the meal, and the other half had to wait over 30 minutes to be served for some reason. By that time the vegetarian option was no longer available. Crew also had to run back and forth between service carts because they were frequently out of very common beverages (like sparkling water. And ice.), and on two occasions crew left a drawer from a cart full of trash sitting in the aisle. There were several times that crew ran carts into passengers - including once into my knee that was not in the aisle - and didn't even acknowledge doing so. They also stopped the carts in front of occupied lavatories, temporarily trapping passengers. So not terribly professional. While not specifically on this flight, the experience in Istanbul airport with Turkish Airlines' staff was awful. Zero interest in helping, rude and dismissive, and overall terrible."

Cons: "Turkish is a terrible airline in many ways. My 90 year old parents were traveling on this flight, and because they have difficulty walking, I had ordered wheelchairs for them. Since on the in-bound flight they did not get assistance during the layover in Istanbul, I called on multiple occasions to their customer service to complain. I was directed towards their website where I had to fill out a complaint form - of course the form is simply to allow customers to vent - no one contacted me to apologize or remediate the situation. On their return journey, I once again confirmed over the phone and at the check in counter that the wheel chair assistance would be available. I was able to secure this for the first leg, however that was it. They were once again left high and dry during the Istanbul layover. They have lower prices, but the quality of customer service is very inferior. If you can afford to pay a bit more - avoid using Turkish. If you do use - certainly be prepared to have any special requests ignored and to be confronted by inefficient customer service."

Eager to exercise her power, the security person did not seem to consider that she slowed down a long line of people waiting to be screened. I should add that I am 73 yrs old grey haired female who has traveled a lot both for pleasure and business during my entire life, often to some difficult places and that I do not argue with or provoke those in power in a situation like this. The yelling and the sending me repeatedly through the scanner, which did not beep once the watch was removed, was beyond anything I had experienced anywhere else. The sending me to the very end of the line seemed outright spiteful. (I did miss the plane connection.)"

Had to wait for it the next day for three hours. Up to this hour I don’t know how I am going to be reimbursed (train and plane)."
