Missed this flight due to previous flight being delayed. No one helped with getting me through customs and borders security so I can make it on time. I had to stand in the longest line and end up staying overnight in Toronto. Now the airlines won’t pay for my hotel accommodation

They said you have extra baggage, I explain them that I payed already to turkish airline. 12. They said you have to go back to turkish airline deck about this extra kg's. 13. I did going back to them they said we cannot do anything, leave one bag here and we send the other one later. During our connecting flight in Athens our boarding passes wouldn't print at the self service computers and there was no one to help us so we had to go back out to the front desk. The airline representative was extremely rude. There was 5 employees standing around the computer with NO customers and when we asked if this was Turkish Airlines and if they could help, the woman (manager) responded "this WAS Turkish Airlines" as if they were done helping customers for the day (it was 9AM and our flight was leaving in 45 min). We explained that we couldn't print our passes and she ROLLED her eyes as if it was an inconvenience to help us. THEN on our flight from Istanbul to Chicago, a passenger died an hour into the flight and they placed the body on the seats behind us for over 10 hours! Nobody even told us what happened! We didn't know if they died from natural causes or if it was something else! They didn't offer to seat us somewhere else or even inform us they were placing the body there. We were completely shocked and uncomfortable the whole flight home. We couldn't eat or sleep. We're completely disgusted and scarred from this overall experience."

It is a bit of a comfort to note that Turkish Airlines seems likely to refund us the price of our tickets. I appreciate it, because I don't think they are legally obligated, though it is the ethical thing to do."

My nephew is studying in Valencia, and we thought it would be a really fun and memorable experience for them to meet, and maybe they would have decided to do some traveling together in the future or my friend's son could have visited my nephew in Valencia at some point this school year. All these plans went down the drain when we couldn't get visas. We are having to content ourselves with southern Spain instead."

Another container had a side of orzo, probably 1.5 ounces, and there was a snack-sized Snickers. That was it until breakfast about 12 hours later on a flight that took off at 10:40 am local time."

Not very helpful at all! Also - the food was terrible. SAA constantly serves up the worst possible airline food (and I travel frequently so am accustomed to airline food). Finally, the entertainment system is of a very poor quality and they constantly have to re-start the system."

SOUTH AFRICA is the country of fruits, after all. 2. Someone has done a rather poor job of selecting Indian music. Overemphasis of South Indian ( Tamil). Even the Bollywood selection (too small) is mostly out of mainstream, neither popular with young nor the elderly. If you write me, I would happily explain. Whoever is in charge does not appear very aware of your Indian passengers needs/wants. Thank you for the opportunity to help improve your service. Best to SAA."

After rushing from Entebbe flight which was an hour late leaving and arriving, I got to the gate to be informed that this NBO to JNB flight was an hour late in departing. Pilot said it was due to "technical difficulties". My ticket had 4 legs : Nov 28 due to leave JNB at 1:20 finally left at 8:30 due to NBO runway closed from plane belly landing - the pilot was very apologetic - LATE. Dec 5 NBO to Entebbe was an hour late due to "passenger problem and luggage taken off" - LATE. Dec 10 Entebbe to NBO left an hour late due to "plane arriving late" - LATE. Dec 10 NBO to Johannesburg was an hour late due to "technical difficulties" - LATE. All 4 flights were at least an hour late leaving and arriving yet the pilots all said thanks for flying Kenya Airways - the Pride of Africa. This is what Africa should be proud of ?!? and Kenya Airways is proud of ?!? Passengers I talked to all were negative in their comments about Kenya Airways. All said there is ALWAYS something of a problem on a Kenya Airways flight. Lady on NBO to EBB flight next to me as we boarded plane and I said everything has gone smoothly so far, replied - the flight isn't over yet - and then we sat in the plane for an hour while they "removed passengers luggage". A man in NBO departure area as we waited to board JNB late flight said, the procedures and organisation are terrible with problems most of the time, which was why he was using up his reward miles because he didn't want to fly Kenya Airways again. This is the culture of this airline which is allowed to continue with seemingly no regard for the paying customers. If the powers that be such as the FAA, imposed a $100 credit to each passenger for late leaving or arriving, I would have received $400 back on a ticket that cost $750. Maybe the airlines would do something practical to remedy their problems and care for the paying customers rather than just saying "we are sorry for any inconvenience "."
Pros: "Ground check-in, onboard staff, plane comfort were all fine and what normally happens. Nice leather seats and space on Embraer plane."
Cons: "At check-in we were told the departure time was an hour late - when I arrived at 2:00am. As I only had 1 hour and 55 minutes in Nairobi before flight to Johannesburg, I was a bit concerned and had to rush from plane to departure gate. Pilot said flight was late due to " plane arriving late", which I think meant - it isn't our fault."
Pros: "That we eventually left"
Cons: "Our flight was delayed because the airport shut down. When the airport opened again. They gave us a departure time 4 hours after our original departure time (1:20 am). 1:20 came and went without any more communication or information. 1:40 am arrived and someone from KQ showed up at our gate and said they do not have any additional information. We said there are children here and hungry, tired, frustrated people. We suggested they distribute waters or snacks, but that never happened. They just kept telling us they didnt know when the flight would take off (or if it would) nor when they would have any additional information. An hour later they made one announcement over the speaker at our gate that our flight was boarding at another gate. However, many people had fallen asleep on the floor as I had and I would have missed it if one of my fellow passengers hadnt woken me up to say that we were boarding. We then sat on the tarmac a while longer for reasons that were not explained and finally landed 7 hours later than scheduled. Very little effort was put into communicating to us, making our wait comfortable nor apologizing for the inconvenience. It was a very frustrating experience."
Pros: "My flight was delayed for 7 of hours. However, the airline communicated prior to departure and also provided us with hotel voucher. I missed my connecting flight to Francis town hence Kenya Airways provided me with a voucher to a hotel in Gaborone and I was able to travel the next day. I am grateful for the efficient communication and services provided by KQ."
Cons: "I was wrongly suspected of something in the security check at Kigali Int'l Airport and further screening stole my time to the point that I missed my flight! When I went to a Kenya Airway agent for assistance, I was advised to buy a new air ticket or pay a fee to have my flight changed, which I did and my flight was scheduled for the following day. The following day, the flight was delayed almost for two hours in Kigali and then 1.5 hours in Nairobi. Don't fly Kenya Airway! Their customer care service are terrible, their disability services very poor. Avoid this airline , please!"
Pros: "The in-flight crew were wonderful!"
Cons: "I was told to get my boarding pass at the counter, and when I did so, I was consistently told how wrong I was. They moved gates, and didn't update the screen or airport-wide monitors. A staff member didn't come get the 30+ passengers until 15 minutes before. One of my two bags didn't make it to the airport. After working with a very unfriendly airport worker, I was told it would be delivered to my hotel by 8 am. The receptionist told me tha they left a message, saying I could pick it up at the airport."
Pros: "very efficient processes and very friendly/capable flight crew."
Cons: "the food was not great (i don't have high expectations for airplane food)"
