Pros: "This was our first time flying Delta and it was a very pleasurable experience. Boarding was very straight forward and the seats allocated comfortable. A surprise for us was being asked if we would like to move seats from the back of the aircraft to Comfort Economy (we think it was to do with weight balance! but appreciated very much none the less). The flight attendants were very professional and helpful, as you would hope all attendants on all airlines would be. We'd gladly fly Delta again anytime."

Cons: "Baggage drop- the line was longer for that than the security clearance! Perhaps have people pay at the kiosk for their baggage so the line moves more quickly."

Agents at desk in JFK were rude. There was another Delta employee also on the shuttle who was the only one who seemed to show concern. He alerted the driver, called the boarding gate and led me to it."

Cons: "The gate agent made us starting in boarding group 6 out of 9 to check sizes of bags in the size box and she got into a verbal fight with another passenger. One guy told her she could board but the gate agent said no it didn't fit and she couldn't board. Then the agent claimed she had to gate check her bag and claimed there were no overhead spaces left. So everyone after that had to gate check. When I boarded there were at least 8 empty bins and I had not even gotten to my seat in row 22. The gate agent lied and slowed down the entire boarding process because she want to win a fight and show dominance over a passenger."

Pros: "Both the departing and returning flights departed in schedule and arrived a solid half hour early. Staff was accommodating and friendly, and very helpful with me juggling luggage and a toddler by myself."

Cons: "I nearly missed my flight because I did not have a seat for a flight that I bought a ticket for at full price. Which, would lead one to believe that I would have a seat on said flight. However, coming to the gate an hour before boarding the personnel working gate the said he was having computer difficulties and could not get me a seat and it would be 10 min. I continued to return till boarding to find out I had no seat and I was on standby. Upon going to customer service they replied the airline oversold tickets and every airline does this as if to make this practice ok. Well being in sales myself and if I were to sell x amount of product to one customer ( or several) I better make sure I have it all there to deliver. People rely on you schedule wise. It nearly shot a meeting I had to make in the foot. Very disappointed with the airline and the way things were handled."

When meal was served the my lap tray was hitting my knees and couldn't fit a can on tray without hitting his seat when I mentioned to flight attendants they did absolutely nothing"

I had to look at my Kayak app for info about my flight ... It was operated by American Airlines out of Terminal 3. I barely made my flight. You should be more explicit on the front end so these mess ups don't happen."

Cons: "This was my return trip with more delays due to maintenance issues of the aircraft. 10/17/16 flight 1585 was the outgoing flight delayed five hours on my departing trip. I waited at the baggage carousel 15 minutes for my bag after over an hour delay due to switching aircrafts. With a flight arriving this late in the evening with the low volume of bags checked (due to checked luggage charges), this should not be the case. Five minutes to gulp down ginger ale."

Pros: "Upon leaving Raleigh, N.C. Our plane was carrying a fallen soldier and a marine who accompanied him . They announced this and gave the other passengers the opportunity to walk to an area to watch the very solemn ceremony. It was all done with respect and handled timely. The flight still left as scheduled and arrived on time. Not that this was the most important part. Even if it had caused me to miss my connecting flight, the ceremony for the fallen hero was more important."

Cons: "Flight from Phoenix to LA had a one hour layover prior to takeoff. They could not even connect my bag after I cleared customs and handed it back to AA counter in bagage termimal. They could not get it on my flight. Bag had to be delivered the next day to my residence because it was arrived two hours after I arrived in LA. Plane ran out of Coca Cola and did not have enough for all the passengers."

Cons: "When we arrived, we found that our luggage had been destroyed... The wheels were broken off and there were large rips in the suitcase.... It was a disappointment because we are both disabled and it is very difficult to drag a large bag through sfo without any wheels. United did offer a $75 voucher which was about half the cost of the bag. We were tired and accepted it."

She called everyone by their names when serving (Mr. O'Connor could I get you a beverage?), checked on us multiple times and was so friendly that she stood way out!"

Cons: "I booked through the United website as trip from US, have Silver status on United, and Lufthansa's policies of not allowing advance (1-2 mo before flight) seat selection (never on UA nor LH websites) are just horrible. Hard to get through on 800 number, and 1 day before trip answer was still to do it in Frankfurt. Economy plus was $1000 more/person, and even then no guarantee I could choose a seat far in advance. Then, at computer kiosk in Frankfurt, they had a wrong diagram of the plane,as we ended up on what turned out to be a no-recline row which I would never get. I'm 6'2", 230lbs, and wasn't able to sleep on that flight. Had I been able to reserve a seat behind a bulkhead or in exit row 2mos in advance, I would have been fine."

The Flight back was even worse the flight was suppose to leave Saint Louis at 3:30 to Newark was delayed 2hours and 50 minutes I checked the flight status said it was going to be on time. If I had know it wasn't going to be on time My son wouldn't have had to wait at the air port as long as He did"

Cons: "The United Terminal at Newark is hideous and United should be ashamed to be associated with this poor quality. The airport is a construction zone at best. The aircraft is tiny, cramped and inadequate."

Cons: "United delayed the flight. This information became available about an hour in advance- well after we drove two hours (We live in Montana) to get to the airport. The attendants said / not our problem. I called United's Customer Service number to discuss ways of mediating the delay that resulted in us missing the wedding venue and entire reason we booked the $1400 flight. I again got a "not my problem" response- no the flights can be modified, no we will not provide vouchers, no we really don't care that our poor quality and service cost you and your family tremendously in time, effort, and lost memories. I know we are at the mercy of airlines, but what a painful disappointment. My experience with Delta has been better and I suggest avoiding United Airlines if other flight options exist.... Even consider a very long drive over the use of the airline."

Our neighbors to the front went into full recline mode ASAP and remained there for 8-1/2 hours- we were unable to reach our belongings on the floor or exit the seats without flight crew intervention - and we are 140#, moderate height! Seats this tightly packed should not recline! Somehow watching numerous economy plus seats remaining empty several rows ahead of us while we endured this was a sorry statement from the airline."
