Well this time the staff went well above and beyond. My friend and I were sitting in the front row of seats in the lounge at the airport, facing the Delta gates. There was a mob of people milling about between us and the gate, so we could not see very well, but we thought we had a clear view of the door. Also it was very loud in the terminal. The flight had a delay, so we were relaxing and chatting, when I got a text from my mom asking if I was on the plane. So I went to the counter to inquire if they had started boarding our flight. The lady looked at me with surprise and said, "We have been paging you!!". Well we were both surprised! We had not heard anything over the general din in the airport. It turns out they had completed boarding and already rolled the stairs away from the plane! The ground staff talked to the captain and then they rolled up a set of stairs, opened the door to the plane, and let us on! The flight attendants said that they had never seen that happen before. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the crew at Delta for going the extra mile to make sure we made it on our flight."

The only other option available was for BA to put us on the 20:20 Kulula flight to Lanseria and then shuttle us from Lanseria to OR Tambo. It really is not pleasant to get back home so late on a week night and not even be given any warning or any reason for the huge delay."

I picked flight for the price, but in the end I should have stuck with Delta, KLM and Air France and got the extra miles as with seat bookings and only one bag allowance, what I ended up paying did not make it worth it. Oh well, live and learn. Seats were tight, anyone bigger than me would have really struggled."

"Lots of turbulence on this flight, which limited beverage service. Despite the length of the flight, there was only one beverage service, and the "snack" they handed out was a single packet of Biscoff cookies. It was a newer plane with outlets for plugging in devices and a shelf for placing a cell phone to view -- all that was great. The free entertainment was also great and much appreciated, as my husband had finished his book and needed something to amuse himself during the long trip. But if the airlines could just give us passengers a bit more seat space, it would improve things immensely; the guy next to me was well over 6-feet tall, and he couldn't help but extend his knees into my space."

The American Airlines employees were not helpful at all! The agent, Rowna, lied to us that we would be sitting together. They will not reimburse me for paying extra for seats that I did not get. The porter that pushed my mother in the wheelchair was more helpful than any employee."

All of us had to wait for 2 and half hours for the crew to tell us that the part was in London. Thus, the flight had to be canceled. Then we waited to pick up our luggages from 12:30pm to nearly 4pm in order to get transported to a 40- minute drive away Hotel. I was starving because I didn't have breakfast as I tried to catch my flight and no food was provided during the waiting time. Plus, the entire day was wasted. Oh well, at least we were provided accommodation for the overnight, 2:40am breakfast, 4am airport shuttle, and 8am flight to get to our destination next day."

Hard to get through on 800 number, and 1 day before trip answer was still to do it in Frankfurt. Economy plus was $1000 more/person, and even then no guarantee I could choose a seat far in advance. Then, at computer kiosk in Frankfurt, they had a wrong diagram of the plane,as we ended up on what turned out to be a no-recline row which I would never get. I'm 6'2", 230lbs, and wasn't able to sleep on that flight. Had I been able to reserve a seat behind a bulkhead or in exit row 2mos in advance, I would have been fine."

Cons: "A six hour delay caused us to rent a car to drive from Fresno to LA. Once we were on our way and after 3 hours or so, the delay was reduced so that we theoretically could have made connections - but it was too late. We made it driving - but we had to eat the cost of the car rental."
Pros: "Heavy Hispanic woman got ill and I was really worried she might pass away because she kept laying forward asleep or passed out on the back of the seat in front of her. Finally they found a doctor who was bilingual and he took great care of her. So bravo for that UA!"

When I called ahead of time about it, a United employee told me it was "do-able". We barely made it, even with riding on the skycap's cart. If I hadn't had that cart ride, I would definitely have missed it. Reasonable layovers would be more helpful."

Then the lady I went to see at the customer service desk was rude, and rejected me from first class even though it was THEIR MISTAKE I was booked there. Then I didn't even land at LAX! I had to take another flight that landed at Ontario so I can make my appointment on time. Will NEVER travel with United again!"
Pros: "The crew overheard me offer my scarf to the lady next to me because I noticed that she was cold, and a few minutes later they offered her a blanket without us even asking for one. We were both so shocked that they knew what we needed before we asked for it."

I should have pay for an exstra suitcase 60 dollars so i gave the receptionist my credit card. Yesterday I got my credit details i saw an extra charge of 400 hundred dollars !!! Cons: "Was delayed and missed my connection home. The hotel provided by United was dirty and run down. They gave me food vouchers for the hotel but the hotel did not have any food options. I was rescheduled on a flight home and was forced to sit in the row in front of the bathroom by the window. Likely the most cramped seat on the aircraft. I literally could not sit upright with out my head striking the wall. To top it all off they lost my bag. After hours of wrangling with the baggage folks it could not be located in their computer system at all. I was told they could only reimburse for $3,500. Needless to say I had some expensive camera equipment in my checked luggage and was not too excited about this reimbursement cap. By some miracle the bag ended up at my home destination. It was off in the corner of baggage claim. No tag on it, no one standing around it, no one knew anything about it. I just happen to walk by it on my way out of the airport. Horrible experience. I think I’ll stick with the other airlines in the future."
