Beautiful location terrace and gardens
Service in the bar and restaurant is very slow
Location, decor, staff were all fantastic. There’s an eclectic mix of guests from various parts of the world which obviously presented staff with numerous challenges due to cultural differences and expectations- all of which were accommodated well (from what I witnessed) without impacting anyone else’s experience. The terrace is breathtaking (we were incredibly lucky weather wise). The decor is classy and modern and runs rings around the clutter we witnessed at the nearby Gilpin hotel (HRiSHi restaurant). Breakfast spread was great, as were the hot options (although helping sizes differed slightly from day to day). Overall, a wonderful, relaxing experience.
Some of the waiting staff appear to be in training so basic etiquette (eg. taking one guest’s plate away before the other person finishes) needs some clarity, but all were friendly, attentive and helpful - especially reception staff who were on hand and incredibly attentive whenever we needed anything.
A few of the staff came across as a little curt and I think this was because of their interpretation of the English language (our friends also noticed this point). Did not detract from our stay but you did ask.
staff were friendly and accommodating for our various needs. information provided for local walking tracks was very beneficial.
the breakfast yogurt, Greek yogurt for breakfast would have been a better choice instead of jars of mixed flavours. the fire alarm at 11pm was not pleasant.
Room a bit pricey for the size.
