Desk staff are really nice. Location is good - not too far away from the main sightseeing attractions of the National Mall, at least for a walker such as myself. Room was kept tidy and is reasonably comfy.
The bathroom was not the best - the shower is not very powerful so the water comes out quite tepidly. The area itself can be a bit noisy - lots of police and firetrucks use the adjacent street (the area is safe thought).
The room was quite small (there was not even a closet to put my clothes in, I could either put them on the bed or on the floor...) and the WiFi was terrible. It was quite hard to get enough sleep (even with earplugs and sleep mask) because of all of the noise from the street and the construction going on.
The management is terrible and take no responsibility whatsoever! We booked a one double room however once we opened the room with found two single beds. I went downstairs to talk to the reception and was told that they had no other available rooms. After asking for some sort of compensation I was told that I should go through booking.com as I didn't book directly through them. I called booking.com (mind you this was about 11.30pm/12.00am) who in turn spoke with the reception guy who actually admitted that we really were given a room with two double beds and apologized. Long story short - management is not taking any responsibility and not giving any refund whatsoever even after written evidence that their own employee admitted that we were supplied with the wrong room.
only the location, was not so bad and it was clean
the place is old,the elevator ancient, some of the staff were ok but others gave us the feeling that we were not so welcome.Washinton was HOT but we could not turn on the air conditioner because it made soooooo much noise. The truth we did not enjoy our stay there.
Room needs updating badly.
