Pros: Location
Cons: Bed
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed at this hotel a few times, it's very friendly and accommodating even for a large hotel. B/Fast in the cafe downstairs is great value, ie. club sandwich and coffee for 5 euro. In fact the food and coffee in the cafe are excellent. Try and get a front sea view if you can, this time we had a city view which is great, but not as interesting. Bathrooms, bedrooms all great size. And they look after your bikes for you. Great location as well for the city and the ferry. Will be staying there again and again.
Cons: I asked for a room late check out, which was all verbally agreed to be 3pm the following day, (the ferry was delayed). But the next day when the ferry was delayed further, I asked if I could extend this any further. The reply from the receptionist (someone I'd not spoken to before), was we don't do extensions at all, you have to leave at 12:30... I tried to explain we'd already extended to 3pm, but she didn't seem to want to listen. It got resolved in the end and we stuck with 3pm, but its amazing how even small incidents add stress to a visit.
10,0 Excellent
Cons: Location was excelent
7,7 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Bar. Also got poor guidance from concierge

Pros: Everything. Best 4 star hotel on my Travels. Excellent location. Will always use it when getting ferry.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was a surprise visit for just one and a half days. Very conveniently located room with a view of the ocean. Great city - been my first time in Santander, but most certainly not the last. Staff at reception was very helpful. Parking is definitely worth the extra pay. I loved the easy access to the beach and the parks - definitely go out for a long walk to the lighthouse when you stay there!
Cons: Coffee. I love good artisan coffee, but it seems this is not something that has arrived in town (or in the hotel) yet.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were spacious, high ceilings and bright, wood floors. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was large and well designed. The breakfast was very good, lots of healthy choices and good coffee. Service was excellent. Beautiful sea view from our room.
Cons: Could us a little coffee maker in the room

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely and spacious and the bed was really comfy with good quality sheets. The hotel was signposted when we got closer making it easy to find and has the most amazing views to wake up to! We had a room with a jacuzzi bath making our one night stay feel even more luxurious. The staff were lovely and helpful during our stay.
Cons: We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and the public car park behind the hotel was full and it wasn’t clear where else it would be ok to park as the area is residential. We quickly found a space in a marked bay to use a few roads away to use.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Bed was comfortable. Room was good with a small balcony looking towards the surrounding hills. Central location for many of the caves we wished to visit.
Cons: We were the only guests in the hotel. The TV in the common room was on continually as was a radio which was on a pop station. Constant noise which detracted from the old world charm of the hotel. Also dogs barking continually from the neighborhood.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: In no particular order but all important- location, style, parking, staff, village proximity
Cons: Bar stock - no wine or local beer.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Receptionist was helpful on check-in although didn't seem to have much knowledge of the local area, in particular places to eat so we struggled a bit to find somewhere on our first night. The rooms are lovely, spacious although limited storage space if you were staying for more than a few days. We didn't have dinner or breakfast so no idea if it was good or not. It's in a very quiet area although I had to close my windows due to a nearby dog barking all night long which made the room a bit too warm to sleep.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The views are spectacular, the rooms comfortable, and the breakfast varied and delicious. It was the perfect place for us (parents and 6 month old baby) to use as a home base to explore the region. The location is really great and even if you do nothing but hang around the hotel for a few days, the fresh air, views and serenity will make you feel recharged. The staff gave us tons of information about the area as well
Cons: nothing to dislike
8,3 Excellent
Cons: The only issues had nothing to do directly with the hotel. Barking dogs in the neighborhood all night and a lack of good places to eat in the evening.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Really comfortable beds, nicely appointed and clean. Good breakfast, great views of The Valley, accommodating hosts, good WiFI
Cons: nothing !!

2,5 Mediocre
Cons: The staff at the hotel were rude and unwelcoming, a woman stood at reception with messy hair staring harshly at myself and my travel guest as we checked in and out, the room was tiny and had the WiFi did not work. Would not book again.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Plenty of space; air conditioning that worked properly; very comfortable bed and bedding; great view over the marina and sea; very clean; plenty of sockets; fridge; spacious bathroom; public underground parking with stairs that came up immediately outside the hotel; excellent breakfast
Cons: Only 1 small lift in great demand.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the modern attractive large bathroom, and the location with our room overlooking the marina. The room was very comfortable. Was good to have kettle and fridge and they happily provided us with fresh milk for our tea.
Cons: Everything was good.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: location, staff
2,0 Mediocre
Cons: 1. WIFI does NOT work. Missed deadlines! I was unable to do work because of wifi not working, missed important deadlines! 2. Every door slams so loud that sounds like bomb. 3. Smells cheap and kinda nasty. 4. Receptionists are incompetent and showed attitude instead of trying to resolve the problems related o WIFI. 5. The day I was leaving they proposed to change room. I thought it was clear expression of mocking and making fun of a customer. 5. In room 506, there is a light on the building outside near the window, which so strong that at night seems like you are the beach in front of the sun and the curtains do not help. I am not a light sleeper and I fall asleep easily, during this 4 day stay I could not sleep because of that and extremely loud door slamming. Overall experience was horrible. I flew across the globe from Los Angeles for work and due to mainly almost not working WIFI my trip was next to nothing. I feel I was robbed. This hotel does not deserve to be 4 star one.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff great location
Cons: Very loud person next door calling USA around midnight. Could hear every word. Even louder in the corridor
7,0 Good
Pros: We had stayed for one night and upon late arrival the staff was very friendly. The hotel was neatly presented and the room was very clean. It is located in a good spot in town, with plenty of restaurants and activity.
Cons: Our room did not have AC or it was malfunctioning at the time. We also heard every time the elevator would chime. We had to leave our window open because it was uncomfortably hot (even in November) and when the wind would come in it would make a loud slamming sound with the first door. Also the shower would flood a bit.

Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very warm welcome and easy check-in. The room is good with especially good windows for light, ventilation, and sound-proofing (though location is on a quiet street). Was offered a kettle, which was a real bonus when the weather turned cold. Easy walk to train station, museums, etc.
Cons: Everything was very nice.
7,5 Good
Pros: Good location - close to the shops and restaurants. The room was spacious. The receptionist was friendly.
Cons: The accommodation was disjointed. The bedrooms are on different floors to the reception - it is within an apartment complex with other inhabitants. Security was high though and there were locks on all the doors - main door, door on each floor and reception.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Immediate reaction was Wow! What a great hotel - modern, easy to find and in a great location. We were given a room with a terrace which would have been great for a longer stay than just our one night. Huge bedroom and bathroom. Just Wonderful. Excellent WiFi. Within a good walking distance from town centre with its range of excellent tapas bars and restaurants. Having arrived late evening we only saw the beautiful views over the bay near the hotel the next morning. Underground car parking at extra cost but very easy access for both car and luggage.
Cons: Nothing. It was all perfect. Including very welcoming staff.
7,1 Good
Pros: The joint room offered was a blessing for us with two young children who needed more space to move around. One rooms balcony was bigger than the other so thats where we spent most of our leisure time. using only the second room for sleeping.
Cons: The breakfast options each day were exactly the same foods every morning. There was no variation in the food offered so after three days breakfast was boring. The tables were only ever set for two people which meant my family had to set the table for four people themselves. finding extra cutlery, napkins etc,
4,8 Okay
Pros: The location
Cons: The noise of the next door bathroom woke me up at 8 am The pictures of the rooms on the official website are not relate in some cases (like mine) with the real rooms. Really careful with this.
7,0 Good
Pros: Good location close to the beach and a short bus/taxi ride to the center of Santander. Safe parking available although at additional cost.

Pros: This is magnificent hotel, don`t be put off by the facade which can look a little drab. The breakfast is superb if a little expensive. The coffee making facilities in the bedroom is very rare in Spain and most welcome.
Cons: The car parking out side can be a bit of a nightmare although by evening you can normally get quite close to the hotel. If you care to pay extra the hotel as an underground car park. The air conditioning in our bedroom appeared not to be working.

9,0 Excellent
Pros: staff always more than helpful. Rooms are a delight, the views -out of this world good choice of Panorama restaurant food
Cons: For us - quite elderly - could have done with more grab rails in the bath
8,8 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed at this excellent hotel on a number of occasions and really love the location and ambience. We upgraded to a superior room and this is worth the extra money for its comfort and extra space- but see below for short term problem.
Cons: Our visit this time was somewhat spoilt by the extensive building work that is going on as it was right next to and beneath our room. This meant that it was impossible to use the terrace and enjoy the views without a lot of banging and other building noise. We were actually woken up by the noise at 8 a.m. and it continued for some time. I had planned to have a room service breakfast on the terrace to relax and enjoy the view. This was not possible so we had to have a buffet breakfast. Be warned- if not ordered in advance you have to pay the full price. In our opinion the hotel should not let the rooms affected by the building work noise until the renovations are complete.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location, very clean and stylish modern hotel with free on-site parking
Cons: Nothing all great
3,3 Mediocre
Pros: I really did not like anything about the property.
Cons: The hotel did not honour the room type that I paid for, charged my card many days in advance, the room with some sea view was terribly small, the decor had no character, the balcony was immediately above a very messy roof so the ‘sea view’ was horribly interrupted, the bathroom was tiny and the toiletries were very basic, typical for a two star or one star hotel. Absolutely overpriced property with no value for money. Horrible disappointment for €165 a night!
9,0 Excellent
Pros: On arrival we were upgraded to a terraced room overlooking the sea- beautiful views. It is situated in a lovely quiet area.
5,4 Okay
Cons: Woken up both mornings with renovation work at 8am - just what you want on holiday. The shower was about as powerful as a light rain shower. The staff on the bar were extremely slow. Shame really because the hotel seems to have great potential.
7,1 Good
Pros: The situation and view from the balcony
Cons: The hotel information gave the impression of mitchelen star quality restaurant this was far from the case . The lunch and dinner menu was the same and the quality was very poor although the quality was too much, the restaurant was very poor value. We stated this in the hotels questionair .
7,5 Good
Pros: Good, as usual
Cons: Room too hot

Pros: Great location but sterile. Functional
9,2 Excellent
Pros: This was another excellent modern hotel which we enjoyed staying at. It's a little way from the ferry port and railway stations, but after getting a taxi from the station when we arrived we found it was quite easy to walk to the town centre. The staff were friendly and the reception staff spoke good English. The gin and tonic in the bar was of gargantuan proportions - be warned!
Cons: The hotel is up quite a hill from the seafront: this wasn't a problem to us but might be for the less energetic. However, it is on a bus route.

Abba Santander - Santander - Bedroom

Overview Reviews
Abba Santander Hotel is centrally located in Santander, a 4-minute walk from Santander Cathedral and 6 minutes by foot from Centro Botín. Featured amenities include wired Internet access (surcharge), a business center, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The location was across the street from the bus and rail stations. It is also close to restaurants and local attractions. Breakfast had a good selection and the staff was very attentive.
Cons: The room was little small thus making it difficult to access the closet. Carpeting was worn out and needs replacing.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Good location. Parking was available in street right outside hotel (for 9euros). Nice modern hotel as a base for sampling Santander's culinary delights.
Cons: Arrival was slightly problematic as receptionist seemed to think answering the phone at length took precedence over guests during check-in.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Customer Service, breakfast.
Cons: The iron in the room didn’t work, shower head was broken, notified the desk.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Came across Abba as a result of a late cancellation by Brittany Ferris. We have 2 dogs, so needed a room at short notice. Abba came up trumps! Reception staff were excellent - very helpful and understanding. We got a parking spot on the doorstep (may have been lucky there!!) and room was good size. Price was a bit higher than we would normally pay, but given circumstances it wasn’t something to quibble over. Plus, it was a holiday weekend in Spain. Likely we will use Abba again as a landing point before our ferry back to the uk.
Cons: Due to some bad weather, some of the electrics failed. Delayed our breakfast - no coffee / hot food. To be fair, was probably a one off ... !
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Convenience of location. Friendliness of staff. Good breakfast.
Cons: Nothing
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Very well located in the town center, very close to bus station, shops, restaurants and sea-side promenade. Rooms well equipped but not very big, good bed comfort. Excellent breakfast with a choice of regional food. Very friendly staff.
Cons: Air conditioning not very efficient.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Although the facade looks old, the hotel is ultra modern inside. The size of the room was extremely generous and a single bed was prepared, we assumed for the dogs bedding. The beds extremely comfortable and the room was exceptionally clean. Lots of toiletries available, ie tooth brush, comb, etc., the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Offering maps etc.,
Cons: The hotel is very central Santander, and on a Main Street. We spent an hour looking for a parking place. When we told the staff our parking problem, they directed us to parking in a municipal car park, free to guests. I don’t recall receiving directions to this car park when booking. If we had gone straight to the car park , even though we had to carry our bags back to hotel, our stay would have been perfect.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent. On the Bay, across the bus station and a block away from the train station, and from the Ferry terminal. Walking distance to the Cathedral, plenty restaurants and shops. Room and bathroom are good size. Complimentary toiletries are a plus, not only the usual shampoo, conditioner, soap, but toothbrush, comb, and more. Safe box and minibar. Breakfast buffet for extra 12€ is good. Very friendly and helpful staff. Free coffee (self serve) in the lobby. Very good value for a 3 star hotel.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Easy access from the Brittany ferry plus parking outside the hotel and finally pet friendly.

7,1 Good
Pros: Large room. Comfy bed. Location good. Parking on street was easy. No need to pay to park underground. Big towels. Less than 10 mins drive to ferry.
Cons: Staff on duty on Saturday were miserable and rude and clearly weren't happy being there (reception and bar). Shower was poor. Bathroom had stained bath but was cramped. Bar didn't open until 7pm. Decor in bar was grotesque- in bad taste. Hopefully fake animal heads and skins all over the walls. Not relaxing setting and no natural light. Didn't eat in hotel. Whole hotel needs refurb.

Pros: Price, location, comfortable bed, clean, good shower, plenty hot water. Great for a couple of nights.
Cons: Air circulation can be an issue. I strongly recommend management put a fan in each room. It would solve a lot of complaints I see in the evals.

9,2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful right at the beach
Cons: Some fittings were a little old and chipped
7,5 Good
Pros: I loved the apartment, was very clean and spacious. At our arrival the staff was very friendly .
Cons: The bed was very uncomfortable, woke up with back pain. NO air condition and it was very hot. The location was very nice, close to the beach, but to far from city center. We arranged with the hotel a cab to take us to the airport and never showed up. Even though it was confirmed the previous night, we were disappointed with the service. During our wait for the requested cab, we called the hotel reception and they arranged another cab company to pick us up. Thank you Las Brisas.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Apartment is situated right across from the beach of Sardinero, Bus service nos 1 & 2 to city center right outside the door. Really enjoyable location, short easy bus hop into the city.
Cons: Apartment is good, very clean, but cooking facilities are basic. Although there are plenty of nearby restaurants and cafes.

Pros: location perfect
Cons: nothing
7,5 Good
Pros: Location perfect beautiful place
Cons: We enjoyed everything about our stay
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location incredible
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Room and most furniture were to a good standard, cafe and restaurant under the apartment were both good.
Cons: Sofa bed in studio was not necessary and took up space, was unpractical as a sofa. A table and chairs would have been more use!
3,3 Mediocre
Pros: There was water
Cons: Total disaster!! Avoid if possible, would not recommend. I took a shower in the evening and apparently the shower draining system didn’t work which flooded the complete flat. When calling the number of reception they simply told me nobody could help at this time and someone would come in the morning. They did not even offer another room, and totally didn’t care about it. Now I realise why some people complained in the comments on the humid and smell in the building. Guess it’s not the first time this happened. Would have appreciated a more customer focussed approach on the problem.

Pros: Very friendly staff Nice breakfast Good parking
Cons: It was windy in the night and It whistled through the hanging sign outside our room all night.. keeping us awake.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Spacious room with terrace overlooking the gardens. You get a lovely view of the sea in the distance and morning sun. Very comfortable room. Excellent breakfast and very helpful staff on reception who explained bus routes etc.. once you get your bearings, the escalators make it very easy and quick to get into town and reach the bus/train stations. Excellent veggie café, Delicio, across the road. Would definitely recommend las Carolinas.
