10,0 Excellent
Pros: 6 blocks from metro and downtown Many good atmospheric restaurants very near Good safe pleasant residential neighborhood Great 1912 mansion w/spacious public areas Lovely loungable garden w/ romantic terrace Good books on Chile in Library Attractive perfect-English speaking boy and girl front desk staff - VERY HELPFUL Nice breakfast Free coffee/tea 24/7 Quiet - NO street noise & NO barking dogs DO NOT USE their airport shuttle service, get a pre-paid taxi at the airport, or have them call you a taxi to the airport. IMPORTANT !! Clean w/great maid service Cheerful and efficient- a true 10
Cons: Breakfast staff should ask patrons if they want eggs etc, and do so right on arrival - they don't, so wh's to know ??
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location is great, walking distance to great restaurants, shops etc. Our room was big and comfortable with a great sea view. Hotel itself is really charming, with great features old and new, so if you have an interest in antiques and art, this is a wonderful place to stay. Staff were lovely exceptionally helpful (especially with a situation of a pre-booked taxi that did not show up- Pablo the hotel Manger came to our rescue and got a transfer for us booked so we made our flight!). All in all, a great stay and a super hotel.
Cons: Nothing.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: We had the most loveliest room with a big balcony and an incredible view. The hotel seemed to be empty though which was really a shame. Probably because of the political and social situation. We were told several times in the streets to be careful, especially at night and only take taxis then. The room itself was spacious and the staff very friendly and attentive. We would stay there again if we could.
Cons: The dog next door was constantly barking at night and nobody seemed to care. It was locked in a tiny cage :-(.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The historic style of the hotel was great. We got an upgrade for free to a fabulous room with a great view over the town. The young man at the reception did a super job: very friendly, very polite and helpful. Breakfast was outstanding!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were super friendly, and went out of their way to help us with anything we needed (thanks Jorge and colleagues!). We received welcome champagne, great tips on places to see and eat, and great support and assistance when we needed to change our travel plans. The view from the rooms is amazing, and we enjoyed a lovely breakfast every morning down on the sunny terrace. The beds are really comfy. Location is great - we originally planned to stay at the port, but were so glad we stayed on the hill instead. The area is much nicer and there are some great restaurants and sites a short walk away. Parking is available (though limited)
Cons: The roosters and barking dogs are a bit noisy, but you’re going to get that in most of Valparaíso. Steep driveway and stairs, which didn’t bother us, but may be a problem if you have limited mobility
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved this place!! We went to Valparaiso for the night scenery, and the room with the terrace was the perfect place to enjoy it privately. The building/hotel itself is old but it's kept clean enough. Bed was cozy, breakfast was great. Check-out was at 12pm so we could enjoy our morning without any rush. We had a lot of luggage, and the staff helped us with it. Welcome drinks were super cool.
Cons: The showers looked like it could be fixed (water was leaking from the hoses so not enough water reached the shower heads). And it's way up in the hill so taxi is required if you're not willing to walk the whole distance.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great! Just the breakfast could be a bit improve but is fine
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Sutherland House was the perfect place to stay for the two days we were in Valparaiso as part of our honeymoon. They immediately welcomed us with champagne, raisins, and olives on a romantic private balcony overlooking the city. Our view from the room was fantastic with windows all around. Breakfast was incredible with toast, homemade jelly, and even freshly made eggs with ham and cheese. The hotel itself is beautiful, elegant, rustic, and cozy and the WiFi signal is strong throughout. We were so grateful for the warm hospitality they provided.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at Sutherland House, located at the top of the hill in Valpairaso. Our favorite part was the lovely staff. They reached out to us on WhatsApp ahead of time, provided free drinks upon arrival, and gave good dinner and drink suggestions. We would definitely stay here again.
Cons: The hotel is in an old house, so I believe the rooms vary in size. The room we stayed in offered great views of the city, but was fairly small so we spent most of our time at the hotel in the common areas.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was exceptional. They went way beyond duty to help us. Stunning views, especially from the corner bedroom on the top floor. Dinner on the small balcony is nice. Decent breakfast.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: The rooms are really clean, the beds are very comfortable. The Hotel is run private, the owner has been very helpful and kind. We stayed in Valparaiso during the protests, and he told us which places we shouldnt go to at which time and suggested places nice to see. As we left the Hotel and the Taxi we ordered didnt come, he drove us to the Bus Terminal by himself. The breakfast was also really nice with fresh fruits, coffee etc. Eggs were fried freshly for you. The breakfast room offered a great view over the City.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Music softly playing and people chattering lead me up the stairs to the loft of RC Art Deco Hotel. I was welcomed with an amazing breakfast (with real coffee) and unbelievable views of Valparaiso. At this level you get an unique 360 degree view. It soon became my favorite spot to relax and take in the area. Sunsets and watching the hills come to life with twinkling lights were a highlight. Our host has a very nice family and makes you feel like you are a part of it. All this within walking distance of historical district.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: excellent breakfast, beautiful rooms and great atmosphere. pisco sour welcome drink, very nice host, Luis, great location
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is absolutely stunning, especially the dining room/lounge at the top, which has a panoramic view of the sea and the city. The decor is like an old-fashioned ship and we all loved it. Extremely comfortable beds, best breakfast I've had in Chile, delightful owner. I've stayed in a few different hotels in Valpo, and this is my favourite.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Amazing view over Valparaíso, not far from the center. Luis was a super lovely host!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The host, Luis was amazing and helped us with the travel plans. The breakfast was excellent. The bed was very comfortable. The view was incredible of the Pacific Ocean.
Cons: There are a lot of stairs in Valparaiso and there is no lift at this hotel. Think of it as good exercise.

Pros: Great staff, very friendly. Wonderful breakfast included in price. The rooms are very comfortable, light and airy. Our friends room had a great view of the harbor and the ocean.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Maybe the best seevice we have had at a hotel. So helpful, relaxed and warm people. The breakfast was great and the view from our room was perfect.
Cons: The rooms had nice, simple decor with local materials but some areas could use updating including bathroom windows, paint, etc.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The people, Rex, Carlos, and Leo were extremely friendly and helpful. The room itself had an interesting view of the harbor including the working port area with large container ships as well as Navy vessels and the tall ship Esmeralda. The distant view was beautiful with active seagulls flying elegantly by. Always something to look at.

Pros: Beautiful old building, great views, very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast was great with fresh fruit, natural juice, omelet...I felt very safe in this part of the town.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: This old family home being run as a small hotel is a treasure trove of family collectibles and is laid out well, with a beautiful outside terrace. Tea, coffee and filtered water are available at any time of day or night, usually accompanied by biscuits and, if you want, fascinating conversation. Both Carolina and Doris, the sisters who run the hotel, are well versed in Chilean history, politics, the local area and have lived in many places in Chile, so have a good knowledge of the country’s geography too. We followed their recommendations for our two day stay and feel we made the most of our short visit. Transport around the city is easy and cheap, so the location away from the main hotel and restaurant area is not a problem at all.
Cons: Very little to complain about, other than mentioning that some of the fittings show signs of age, such as the shower unit in our room, which is fitted with a very modern power shower, but the doors were coming off their sliders, the tray was slightly cracked and the powerful jets went straight over the top of the unit, soaking the room!
9,1 Excellent
Pros: The owners, Doris and Carolina, are the only staff and from the start treated us more as friends than as guests at the hotel. The hotel is on the hill above Valparaiso, but with the information provided by our host, it was made easy to find our way in and out of the area, at very reasonable costs. Where else could you expect the host to provide you with a guided tour of the easy access from the town? The whole experience was enchanting!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Relaxing, nice area, great host.
Cons: The bed mattress was too soft.
7,5 Good
Pros: This is basically a museum. Run by 2 sisters whose grand granddad build the house in 1919. Since then it was the family house and nothing has changed. You are in all the old stuff. Great breakfast on a Terrasse with a view over the city private parking (but a bit a challenge to get into the garage) Sisters who run it are perfect hosts Price Value is nice
Cons: The place has this old smell Bathroom was across the floor Beds are kind of old
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Very warm attention. Perfect breakfast.
Cons: Slow wifi
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This was the BEST hotel we stayed in, during our 3 weeks journey. And this was solely due to the 2 sisters who made you feel at home instantly. Whenever you come in, they offer coffee and tea, make pancakes, treat you like a part of the family! The room was great, filled with antiques and curiosities. We slept like angels and were spolt from the first to the last second
Cons: I personally did not mind, but the house is old, and as such has also an old bathroom. It's also steep uphill, so maybe not to be recommended for people with walking difficulties.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The two sisters who own the property are so gracious and helpful. Beautiful view of Valparaiso and ocean. Loved to see the twinkling lights of the city below at night. Nice to see how people live in this city
Cons: I would never drive here
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The owners are delightful people. They are very friendly and helpful. The exterior terrace has a very nice view of the city and harbor.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was amazing and delicious. Doris and Catarina are amazing people. A warm welcome and cups of coffee when required. They went beyond their call of duty and Catarina took me down to get the right tour and then when I was taking the bus to Santiago. Their consideration for me not speaking Spanish was making me feel at ease. They have a wonderful business here and deserve the highest accolades. Thank you Doris and Catarina.
Cons: The only fault was the bed. The mattress was uncomfortable.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We couldn't have picked a better hotel in Valparaiso. Our host Doris was lovely and very helpful in informing us about the highlights of the town. Breakfast was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay at the Grand House.
Hotel Da Vinci Valparaíso - Valparaíso - Bedroom

9,0 Excellent (207 reviews)

Featured amenities include a computer station, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. For a surcharge, guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle (available on request) and a cruise ship terminal shuttle.
5,0 Okay
Cons: Pathetic breakfast. On our second day we decided to skip it altogether and paid to have breakfast at a cafe.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were welcoming and helpful. The lobby was welcoming and comfortable. A keurig style espresso machine downstairs made mornings more special. If you need a beverage or a pick-me-up, there's a cooler downstairs where you can buy sodas, energy drinks, aloe juice, and still water.
Cons: Conversations, footsteps, other people's TVs, cell phones ringing... all of it entered our room as though our bed were in the center of the lobby with zero walls around us. On Saturday morning at 4:30, someone walked back and forth across our ceiling eleven times in five minutes, then down the stars and back and forth across the lobby. They continued up and down the stairs and across our ceiling till well after 7:30. Every footstep echoed in our room and kept us wide awake. Sleep was not possible with the level of noise that carried into our room. Additionally, one entire wall of our room is floor-to-ceiling windows that look out on the center courtyard and the interior hallways opposite our room. Ordinarily, this would be spectacular... except that the curtains that were meant to provide us privacy weren't big enough and only covered a portion of these enormous windows. With the curtains fully stretched as far as they would go, it was still possible for someone to stand to one side and have a full and unobstructed view of us in our room. Privacy was not possible unless the lights were off. This was rather frustrating.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Location, wood fired heater in reception.
Cons: The shower leaked through the floor boards and wet all of our clothes and electrical items. The staff moved us to another room but didn't follow up with us the next day.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, perfect location, very comfortable lovely boutique hotel. Great breakfast, close to many restaurants, stores and sights. Owner is great. Would stay there again.
Cons: I can't think of a thing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice old building with wooden interior. The room was quiet and clean. It had all that we needed. Hosts were very nice and helpful. The location is very good - it is next to the two of the main passages - Fisher and Apolo.
7,9 Good
Pros: All you need is a clean room with a comfortable bed and good hot water (it was hot but took a long time to come through) - Hotel Da Vinci ticked all these boxes. Staff were very friendly & helpful, even with the language differences.
Cons: I chose the single room over two storeys, and the headroom was not good for a tall person like me. This was my choice, not a criticism of the hotel. In hindsight I should have paid more for a room with full headroom.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The owner was really helpful and let us check in early. He showed us where to go and where not to go. Even helped organise a rental car with a local company when none of the websites would allow us to book one online. The location was great because its situated not far from everything. It's a easy walk to the main bars, close to banks and there are restaurants just up the hill on the same street. You have to get use to the plumbing in the showers as you have to run the water for quite a while before it gets hot but there are signs in the bathroom telling you what to do. The only issue was the curtains on the first floor bedroom did not fully cover the whole of the window facing the outside. However, we enjoyed it so much that we returned the following week on the way back to Santiago and got a room on the ground floor which had one of the most comfortable beds we had slept in during our trip.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: I loved the coffee and the kindness of the owner and his staff. It was 4 min walk from my work, very convenient location.
Cons: The first room I had was a bit too small. They moved me to a larger room.

Pros: Great location, good breakfast with a view, comfortable bed
Cons: Lots of stairs to work off your meal but may be an issue for some people
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly, perfect view, nice food. A excellent small Hotel.
8,5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was tasty and healthy; the room was clean and with a nice view. The shower was amazing.
Cons: It was a little bit chilly, but ok after a while.
7,9 Good
Pros: The design of the hotel is very impressive, comfortable bed & spotless. Staff very helpful & location is centre of old town,
Cons: Partying took place outside our room on public steps for the 2 nights we were there & kept us awake till after 4am (even with ear plugs) (dancing, shouting, banging drums etc). Whilst I accept that this is outside of hotel's control (they did call the police on few occasions apparently), the hotel should either house guests in opposite side of hotel, provide ear plugs & not sell rooms till protests end. I did explain this to the receptionist & felt we should have been offered a reduction in the room rate. The breakfast offers should be reviewed as it's basic for room rate charged.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: good style and great location
5,8 Okay
Pros: Stunning design, lobby, restaurant with incredible and friendly service/staff.
Cons: Bring your own pillows, fan, hot water, and extra strong ear plugs. There is zero ventilation in the room. The windows are strange and barely open. There is no fan to create any airflow so the rooms are very stuffy and uncomfortable. The hot water would come and go throughout 3 days. We had to keep calling front desk to get it working. Then it would go out again. CAUTION!!!! While the location of the hotel is great, it is extremely noisy with people talking and drinking with loud music on the street just outside your window....all night. Literally 24 hours per day heavy noise. This is a very very very noisy hotel. At least in room 18 where you can hear EVERYTHING happening outside even with ear plugs. Try to find a quieter room n the hotel if available not close to street. Probably ask for the original wing. The new wing is terrible. Sorry!!!
7,7 Good
Cons: Dont pick up 12 room
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Super neat place. Very interesting architecturally and the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Highly recommend as a high quality hotel!!

Pros: Very friendly staff
Cons: They don’t really speak English + the whole place looks way more modern on the pictures than in the reality
8,3 Excellent
Pros: We had a nice little room. The staff was nice and helpful, the breakfast good. Great location in the heart of cerro Concepcion.
Cons: Because it is in the heart of cerro Concepcion, it can be a little noisy during the night, people partying or cars on cobblestone streets but nothing that earplugs won't solve !

9,2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, 2 mins walk from bank, the main square and all restaurants- 1 min walk from nightlife and bars Area felt safe Staff super helpful quirky hostel with an awesome rooftop
Cons: very small kitchen but not really a downfall in my opinion , still an amazing hostel just don’t expect to cook there
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff are AMAZING !
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great atmosphere, easy to meet people. Activities organised every evening. Very good breakfast. Amazing rooftop terrasse. Dorms were spacious, each bed has a reading lamp and usb charging outlet. A bit of a party hostel vibe but silence enforced from midnight so you can also get a good night of sleep if you want to. Central location.
Cons: All showers were out of order on my 2nd night, from about 8.30pm till the following order... Bathrooms were very small so getting wet everytime someone would take a shower and then the floor would get dirty as soon as someone would walk in. Also, it was weird to have to throw the toilet paper in a country as developped as Chile (BUT, the floor and bins were cleaned every couple of hours)
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful, the hostel was really clean, there were tons of activities for travelers to bond and explore together, and the free breakfast was nice!

Pros: Miguel, the owner, was absolutely amazing! He gave us lots of tips and infortnatuin, he was always happy to help! The room itself was big and comfortable with a lovely.little balcony. Breakfast was very nice. Location was great!
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Cheap prices
Cons: A bit dirty the rugs outside the room. Breakfast could be better.
6,3 Good
Pros: Good central location, walking distance to the train station (to Viña del Mar) and bus station (to Santiago). Restaurants and pubs nearby. It is in a historic house which is romantic but run-down. The hostel which actually has been a spacious and luxurious apartment a century ago has been transformed into a basic accommodation which has definitely a character (and a cat) and is run by an enthusiastic owner. It is still a very basic place and should be avoided by those who have got used to hotel comforts. Cold in winter. Triple room at the corner had excellent views to the town centre. Most of the other rooms don't have views.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Good location, breakfast in bed, quite cheap.
Cons: Cat fur on the sheets. No windows for fresh air.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The owner is amazing. He helped me a lot with constant updates about situation in Valparaíso and many other things. Very honest and helpful person. This hostel is in a very old building and has a lot of charm (and two cats :)) location is perfect as close to bus station and short walk to the centre.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Receptionist is very hospitable and provided information regarding city attractions, etc. Location is good and is walking distance to the bus terminal and a large supermarket. Room is big and basic but comfortable and clean.
Cons: A very long flight of stairs to the reception on the second/third floor. Paying by credit card will incur the tax that foreigners can be exempted from

Pros: The position is very good. The guy at the reception gave us some useful information. The living room is nice and there are some games. Nice house in British style.
Cons: We booked two nights in the B&B. The room had never cleaned and tidied up; the bin in the bathroom had never been emptied (It was very full because you cannot throw the paper in the toilet bowl). We had only a roll of paper in the bathroom that was enough for just one day. The second day we had to use our tissues because there was nobody to ask for. The shower cubicle in the toilet is small and the flow of the water is not good. The mattress of the bed is a bit unconfortable.

Pros: The location
Cons: Not clean, no breakfast so why the name of the place with & No heating, there is a smell of mold

As we left the Hotel and the Taxi we ordered didnt come, he drove us to the Bus Terminal by himself. The breakfast was also really nice with fresh fruits, coffee etc. Eggs were fried freshly for you. The breakfast room offered a great view over the City.

Pros: We couldn't have picked a better hotel in Valparaiso. Our host Doris was lovely and very helpful in informing us about the highlights of the town. Breakfast was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay at the Grand House.

Pros: Everything. It’s a wonderful hotel located on top of Cerro Concepcion with spectacular views across the port. Lovely restaurants and ace around the hotel. Bus terminal is a Uber or bus ride away to the plaza below the Cerro and then a short walk. The owners are so friendly and helpful and gave me tips on where to go and eat. Breakfast was amazing and coffee incredible. If you coming to Valparaíso you must stay here. Outside of the hotel is beautifully decorated.

Cons: The water temp was not hot for showering

Pros: The hosts Marcelo & Gloria are wonderful.Very helpful and great advice about the local area. Breakfast was excellent ant the terrace view is amazing. Would highly recommend.
Cons: A bit of a hill climb but worth it for the views.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hosts, amazing breakfast, perfect location in Valparaiso and stunning view from the terrace!!
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Such a charming setting in that old house, elegant dining room and service. Wonderful homemade jams and juices fresh every morning, great coffee and variety. I was there 4 nights so it was nice to enjoy really fresh fruit plates or yogurt and cereal if not ham, cheese etc. Claudio is very attentive to every detail or question and delightfully knowledgeable ("culto")
Cons: I really have no criticism, only some helpful hints, things that neither the owners or the cleaning service would notice. I commented with Claudio about something that could be repaired that only a guest would know (fixing the toilet seat). And because I am from cold country, I really noticed the afternoon heat in my room. I do think that some kind of fans should be installed. Claudio and I talked about the overhead fan/light combination to make sleeping easier
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Thank you Gabriela
Cons: The bathroom facilities are uncomfortable at the suite Sorry I know they will solve this problem

7,7 Good
Pros: Staff at front desk were friendly enough and spoke a little English; elevators were functioning and clean, room was minimalist but clean and comfortable and quiet; bathroom was clean with nice showerhead; front desk called a private taxi for us when we checked out. A young man on the staff went out of his way to let us know how long we could expect to wait for the cab and to let us know when it arrived for us.
Cons: We missed the full breakfast, so when we went to the self-serve breakfast afterward, the options were limited to basically bread, coffee, and tea. That would have been fine, except staff did not seem interested in making breakfast easy or comfortable for us. The area was messy from the full breakfast earlier that morning, and we had to ask where to sit and how to get our food, because the staff in the cafe area were not especially attentive or helpful to us obvious foreigners.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Very good location and very safe . I liked the Unimarc Supermarket next door and the harbor . very good breakfast like always in 'IBIS Hotels
Cons: When we stayed in the hotel they remodeled the place and didn't inform us at all , so the noise started at 6 am in the morning and ended at 10 pm!!! Not acceptable at all . There was also a group of young students in the place celebrating all night long. Hotel staff didn't really take our complaints serious.

Pros: Ibis is located right on the docks and above the metro station. We loved the colors of the barges and the city outside our window. The location was so central to museums, the historic neighborhoods and important monuments.
Cons: Breakfast was pretty weak and the pillows were a bit clumpy.
