Pros: The rooms were small, but clean and confortable.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The history of the hotel and the 50'S theme. I felt right at home. We even made a campfire in the evening and met some interesting people.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This is the most unique place I’ve ever stayed in Door County. The owners clearly love what they’ve created and the environment is adorable and so well curated.
Cons: The rooms are small, at least the one I stayed in was, which was fine as I was traveling solo.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything very clean
Cons: Just noisy people at 7am in hall and diner areas
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, nice staff. Breakfast had a nice selection of food, cereal, fresh fruit, boiled eggs, muffins, pastries and toast. Loved the 50's furniture & atmosphere.
Cons: Bed was VERY firm. I like to take my breakfast to my room and a sign in the kitchen asked patrons not to do that.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great nostalgic hotel
Cons: realy nothing
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Liked the breakfast. Very informal. Nice choices. Lots of info about Door County events.
7,1 Good
Pros: The location was perfect.
Cons: For the price of the room, I anticipated a hot/made to order breakfast, like omelettes and potatoes.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: This motel has a wonderful concept...love that the stay there helped to fund local musicians! Otherwise, it is an absolutely fine motel with a nice breakfast. Very much loved the feel of the place, with the 1950's style flourishes.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely little motel. We enjoyed our stay here and the staff were very nice. The breakfast was a lovely bonus.
Cons: It's too pricey for what you get.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Classic 50’s decor. Music theme throughout. Friendly staff.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The retro atmosphere was a delightful surprise! Learning the history of the facility added to the charm. Others staying were friendly and interaction was easy in the breakfast area, again very reminesent of days gone by.
Cons: Nothing

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location is perfect. Rooms are clean. Staff is very professional.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic property. The suite was a perfect size for the 4 of us, gave us plenty of space to cook and relax and chill out. Our two girls loved the swimming pools, we spent over 1 1/2 hours a day playing in them. The whirlpool was a welcome treat for us adults.
Cons: Nothing - great property in a great location.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful views, clean rooms,
Cons: Outside building needing washing
7,5 Good
Cons: Window AC unit made it difficult to keep the bedroom cool.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was amazing, Luke, Brian and Annie-helpful, caring, We had an emergency in our family and had to leave on Friday evening so we lost a night there. The location is the best in Sturgeon Bay.
Cons: no negative feelings
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The view. The staff
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, easy to get anywhere on the peninsula. Beautiful grounds and the rooms were very nice & exceptionally clean. Very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.
Cons: Not sure what could be done about this but the water pressure in the showers was very low and both cell & wifi reception was very spotty
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Spectacular grounds! Best Bay view in Door County! Very nice unit, staff was polite and attentive. We booked at the last minute for our wedding anniversary and fell in love with the views and sounds of water lapping at the shore as we sat on the pier bench!
Cons: When we checked in we walked into bedroom to find the carpeting was sopping wet and musty smell. The gentleman at the desk was very attentive and concerned, the only solution was a small fan running all night on the floor to help dry the carpet. The blind header in bedroom was broken and fell off, and when you come into bedroom there is garbage again the wall behind tv unit, hard not to see it as it is a direct sight line when entering the room. The kitchen clock glass is cracked, when we told the front desk he said it probably was from a beer party. The baseboard trim in bathrooms is very old and painted slopped all over it and caulking. The showers have mold/mildew on bottom door runner and master shower stall has no light so it’s a dimly light shower in the morning. These are all things that could be taken care of quickly and not for a ton of money, so it was disappointing to pay this kind of money to have sloppy work, wet carpeting, and broken/unkept items such as this. I bet the unit owner will not be happy about how the maintenance team is handling their rental. Westwood Shores Management Team - you can do better! The view is advertised as water which is true of living room and it is awesome! The bedroom views lack the stunning water views as it is a corner unit, and the view is a small patio area and exterior walls.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect spot. Nice outdoor and indoor pool. Friendly staff. Every room has a view, some better than others.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Property was excellent.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great suites, beautiful location, breathtaking views, great off season prices.
Cons: No
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We loved this hotel. All rooms have a view of the lake. The location was great, just north of town. We loved the indoor pool, hot tub, & sauna. The front deck crew was always very helpful when we had a question. Will come back again.
Cons: Not really everything was perfect.
Snug Harbor Inn - Sturgeon Bay - Building
3
9,0 Excellent (158 reviews)
R1 129+
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Snug Harbor Inn in Sturgeon Bay, you'll be on the waterfront, within a 5-minute drive of Popelka Trenchard Glass and Door County Historical Museum. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
6,7 Good
Pros: The location is very nice. Right outside the inn one has access and a nice, quiet garden. We enjoyed the water access. The location was also convenient, as the inn is only 2-3 minutes from highway 42. Sturgeon bay has good breakfast restaurants nearby. The bathroom was in good condition with newer appliances. The kitchenette was equipped.
Cons: The room was much smaller than the rooms we saw on the site. We were surprised by the size of the room (room#7). The bed and pillows were rock hard and the first two nights we were quite uncomfortable. One of us has moderate asthma and when we walked into the room we were hit by a strong, chemical smell (something between a room freshener and a strong laundry detergent). We aired the room for about an hour, but I was having some difficulty breathing after smelling that. We finally figured out it was the bed and pillow cover and we put it in a drawer. It still smelled, so the next day we took it back to the laundry room and left it there. The TV looked like it was there from the 90s. The carpet in the room looked questionable. Once there were guests next door, you could hear very loud TV. Overall, I would say that the room was overpriced for its condition. We pay about $100 per night and we found it worth of about $65-70. No more.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, right on the water, clean, and a good value.
Cons: Nothing.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Exceeded our expectations. Was clean and beautiful. Highly recommend.
Cons: The furniture was well worn.
7,5 Good
Pros: It was clean
Cons: Lots of dead knats and mosquitos on the ceiling. Bed headboard could use replacing. it is too noisy.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Cozy. Right on the water. Quiet. Friendly staff.
Cons: Place is older. Could use some love. Overgrown or dead shrubs around porch. Old wallpaper in bath peeling.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The room was nice and the view and location was super. A great value for the money and staff was very accomodating.
Cons: Was able to see some of the cottages also and likes #4, but would highly suggest removing the carpet and going with a pet friendly flooring.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Place was a dump, marketing really sold what it wasn't! Room was in need of a lot of repair, broken chairs, loose sink, damaged light switches. Common amenities were missing like no ice. Staff had no clue what was going on. Have boat slips but fail to tell you no launch. Place was extremely disappointing!
6,7 Good
Pros: We loved being able to sit at a little bistro table on the porch outside the room and watch the boats and ducks and drink our anniversary wine! The grounds were clean and there was a picnic table and grill to use if we wanted. In addition a fire pit to enjoy. The room had a nice refrigerator and there was a coffee maker, toaster and microwave as well. In the cabinet there were dishes and utensils to use. The bathroom and shower were good size for a small room. Good size closet also. We liked that there were 2 garbage receptacles. One for garbage and one for recyclables. Most of the time when we stay somewhere, we have to bring our recyclables with us.
Cons: We didn't like that the minute we walked in the room,it smelled extremely musty. My husband has breathing issues and so we needed to see if we could get it aired out. We had no screen door and 2 windows but only one screen. We had to run air conditioning constantly and leave door open when there except for sleeping. The bed seemed smaller than a queen, more like a full which was uncomfortable.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Super value with an excellent view.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Charming, waterfront, well equipped room, lovely friendly staff.
Cons: Booked at the last minute, the room had full beds...that wasn't clear. We made do. Loved this, our second stay.

Pros: Traveled with my sister for a girls weekend in Door County. Location was perfect, staff was friendly, breakfast was exactly what we needed each day to get started, food area was always clean. We did not use the pool but many guests did and there was no noise from that in our room. Room clean and roomy for two ladies traveling together. Would stay here again. Bathroom was always very clean and shower was great!
Cons: One day the room had been cleaned but towels were left on the floor and one bed was haphazardly made.
7,1 Good
Pros: The room was big enough for all three of us. Clean and comfortable. Convenient to have breakfast on the way out the door
Cons: Bathroom was a bit on the small side. Black mold on the ceiling in the swim area
10,0 Excellent

7,9 Good
Pros: Location, staff was nice
Cons: Someone was smoking drugs across the hall from us air conditioning wasnt working properly. Prices were jacked up because of a event in the area
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Nice pool area and hot tub. Used breakfast area for games at night. Staff all very nice, tolerant of my noisy gkids
Cons: Price but what can you do? The room smelled heavily of cleaning products when we arrived but it did clear
7,5 Good
Pros: Very convenient room to parking & breakfast
Cons: Carpet in hall & breakfast area worn out!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The layout of our room was extra nice, especially for having two older kids it was nice to have a pull out couch so the kids did not have to share a bed.
Cons: Breakfast was just ok. It had all of the main items, but some items could have been a bit more upscale (I.e.-cooked oatmeal vs instant, scrambled eggs). Other than that everything really was perfect.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff is super dedicated!
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: clean and pleasant
Cons: N/A
7,5 Good
Pros: Great room. Very clean, nice and quiet, lots of room to move around in. Good breakfast.
Cons: The only thing I didn't like was our room didn't have any Kleenex.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: A good value in an expensive county.
Cons: Refrigerator was a bit too loud--we had to unplug it for sleeping.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice accommodations. The room was quite large and very clean. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Door County.
7,9 Good
Pros: The check-in and check out were seamless, and most importantly - breakfast was really nice, with fruits, waffles and quite good omelette. Room is spacious, and there is a plenty of parking space as well. This was the only option available for the weekend we've spent in Door County, but I don't regret booking it, nice place.
Cons: I really felt a lack of lighting in the room, it was too dark even with all the lights on.
7,0 Good
Pros: The room was very large which was great.
Cons: The fact that the dining area employee was more interested in 'fronting' the food than letting people get thru the line to fill their plates. Also the tables were never wiped and were very sticky and dirty.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Slept well; good pillows and mattress Close to main road to upper door county Morning breakfast good; appreciated 24/7 coffee with foldgers machine. Honored request for end room Staff were very friendly; great customer service.
Cons: There was a smell to the room; also had a damp feeling. Some rooms were hard floor, ours was carpeted. Black spots in bathroom near ceiling, otherwise clean. Dark room when shades shut and all lamps on.

Pros: Great location! Very clean! Friendly staff, large rooms
Cons: Showers were a little dated
7,5 Good
Pros: Interesting history, nice patio/balcony areas, good breakfast.
Cons: Ongoing renovations in progress; our room had an unpleasant odor of unknown origin
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Pillows, bed, flooring, staff, and location were all great. Shower was also awesome. Very clean.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was better than expected. Plenty of choices, fresh and tast The location was picture perfect. The room was much better than the ad pictures.
Cons: The main restauant ran out of the prime rib special and no exception was made for a substitute. There were flies all over the salad bar. Appetizers tasted like they came out of a box and deep fried.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The grounds by the pool area is very nice, relaxing. It was nice having a bar & restaurant on site. The Marina close by-scenic. The staff, especially, Duane & Danielle who went out of their way to accommodate us. You guys rock!
Cons: The balcony. It is semi-private with a partial wood wall. We were on the 2nd floor. You can walk from one end to the other seeing anyone sitting outside. The breakfast. While it wasn't the worst, I've seen better. They did have a young lady making omelets, but if I could suggest having more than 1 person making them, it would go much smoother-quite a line. I felt rather bad for the young lady. The food we ordered was ok, but not something we'd order again. We got a discounted rate for Labor Day weekend which we couldn't complain about, however, we wouldn't pay the full rate for the room.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting and nice location.
Cons: The driveway In was not really a rode. Pot holes and not well paved. In addition, we left a note (in the morning) for housekeeping to clean our room, when we returned at 4:30 PM, the room was not cleaned.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Good coffee, both at breakfast and in room
Cons: Selection kind of sparse, but ok. Missed out on made to order omelette station (guessing low guest rate this day of the week)
4,6 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was great, but a long wait. We left and came back hoping for a shorter line. It was not to be.
Cons: Road into property and within the parking lots full of pot holes. Mold around bathtub faucet. Nails pushed up on decking, so a tripping and puncture hazard if barefoot.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Being able to sit outside on the balcony in the evening and the omelette bar was great for breakfast
7,1 Good
Pros: Very clean & close to the downtown area with attentive staff.
Cons: Enjoyed the breakfast, but the coffee was terrible.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was larger than anticipated, loved , the history about the lodge, will definitely stay again when in Door County, Drinks at Bar, were Great, Food not so much. Ordered the munchie Basket, menu had changed & not updated or informed about, deducued porion from the bill, but still disappointed, salad bar was weak and salad looked wilted. Besides that, we will DEFINITELY be back, but just drinks at Bar :)) Beds are a little more firm than we are used too, but I suppose better than being to soft
Cons: Bar food

7,1 Good
Pros: The room was clean and neat. Other guests were quiet and we did not seem to hear noise from anyone else, which was nice.

7,1 Good
Pros: Breakfast was awesome. Great value for the area (especially 4th of July week).

7,1 Good
Pros: Location is great for everything in Sturgeon Bay. Room was spacious and clean
Cons: Breakfast was so so. Probably OK if staying only 1 night. We stayed 3 night and breakfast was pretty much the same each day. Very rigid schedule. 9:00 breakfast only. Breakfast room was uncomfortably silent. Maybe a bit of background music? Little to no interaction from hostess.

Cons: Not updated but who cares.
2,9 Mediocre

Pros: It was close to where we were going. That's about all.
Cons: A lot! The front staff younger man was extremely rude. There was no elevator and we had a lot of stuff to walk up stairs. The shower handle just twirled and when worked, only did scalding water or cold, the tub filled up with water, it wouldn't drain...
3,0 Mediocre
Pros: Location was perfect, close to most activities. Plenty of options for the continental breakfast.
Cons: Sheets and towels were old and thin, lucky us that we brought our own towels. Bedspread maybe on the same bed for a long time. Everything is room is dated with minimal cleaning being done, bring disinfectant spray. Warning sign if you steal towels-HA HA
1,0 Poor
Pros: Nothing. I don't think I'll ever stay at a Super8 again.
Cons: The room smelled like smoke. No fan in the bathroom. Advice for a restaurant was poor. The eggs were way undercooked, the sausage cold, and the waffle maker only cooked half the batter.

Cons: too limited of space for breakfast. several guests sat in the room all morning (1.5 hours) leaving several of us to not have a table
2,0 Mediocre

Cons: Staff hard to get ahold of. Breakfast was absolutely terrible. At 8am, there was no milk, no fresh fruit, raisin bran that you could break your teeth on, 2 stale bagels, 4 white pieces of bread, 1 expired yoghurt. I did see a pitcher of waffle mix. Horrid

Cons: We expected a pool when we arrived there and the pool room was unavailable. It was under maintenance there were mattresses in the pool room and lose wiring hanging from the light fixtures. The breakfast was not all that good either .
6,0 Good
Pros: Courteous and friendly staff. Quiet & safe location.
Cons: Carpets in hallways and room not clean and stained. Pool was not open or filled. No fitness room. Needed updating. Bathtub in the room creaked when you stood in it, thought we'd fall through the floor. Appeared they did not vacuum the carpeting.

Pros: Overall not bad! Location is great to head to Door County.
Cons: OK, but the floors could have been vacuumed more frequently and restroom could have been cleaner. Overall, we would still stay there again.

Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Window was cracked and taped together, splatter on the toilet, name was misspelled and we were almost denied check in and with difficulty by the front desk explaining what would be the resolution, door safety lock bent/broken

Cons: There is no pool, contrary to the advertisements. The front desk staff was RUDE when asked about the lack of swimming facility. Also, the floors were filthy.

Pros: Location was the only great thing about this hotel.
Cons: Carpet was dirty. Bathroom was dirty. I wouldn't even use the shower because the bottom of the tub looked so gross. Beds were ok, bedding seemed clean.
