Pros: Location to Cheltenham racecourse and friendly polite staff
Cons: The hotel has many sister hotels and we were recommended to try the hollow bottom we got hotel to book us a taxi at 7.30 to take us there which arrived at no38 at 8.15 got to hollow bottom at 8.45 and then told at 9pm out return taxi would be with us at 10pm so a rushed dinner which we finished at 9.45 and the waited until 11.20 until taxi arrived after hotel and hollow bottom saying they could get us there and home with no issues I would suggest this group should invest in a minibus to taxi guests to their other venues and charge guests for this service as we had 45nins for dinner 2 hours waiting for taxis and 40 mins travelling back and forth it’s something that needs look into as our stay at hotel was very short with all these issues apart from that the hotel and staff are fantastic

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The apartment pictures do not do this place justice. I was happy with the standard of the accommodation. It was good to have free parking given Stow can get busy albeit you had to cross over the road to get to it. Felt very secure in the apartment building which was in a gated courtyard. Paid for a late checkout £10 - good value but I do feel this could be offered as goodwill gesture if apartment available but I had paid room price signifiicantly reduced compared to rack rate!!
Cons: Liked everything about the apartment but for those with mobility difficulties the steps up to the apartment may be a problem
8,0 Excellent
Pros: location good, very spacious and modern
Cons: we didn't get communication with the check in details, but rectified quickly

Could not get back to sleep then

Pros: Location was fantastic. Walking distance from the high street where there are a plenty of shops.
Cons: We had to wait for 1.5 hours for the hot water tank to refill after taking a bath which was not really convenient. We stayed as 3 people and by the time I took shower it ran out on the first day.

Pros: Excellent breakfast in lovely dining room. Very comfortable bed. Lots of hot water and excellent shower. Easy booking in process with very pleasant gentleman.
Cons: Nothing to note really as it was booked at very short notice .
10,0 Excellent
Pros: For a start the hotel looks right for a stay in Cheltenham with a pleasing Georgian facade. The receptionist (maybe the owner) was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, The lounge room with honesty drinks bar is a joy. Our room was beautifully decorated with lovely high ceilings. The freshly cooked breakfast was a real treat. We just cant rave enough about this hotel - they go the extra furlong to make sure their clients are comfortable and enjoy their stay.
Cons: It was cold outside but we cant blame the hotel for that. Nothing.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Bed felt too soft, but was actually very good for sleeping on. Nice big room. Good price. Breakfast included in an apartment! Great location (10 mins walk to town). Excellent maid service (very clean). Free access to a very well equipped gym. Choice of two pillows each (one feather, one foam)
Cons: Mix up over booking when we had been moved to main hotel without our knowledge, but quickly sorted out within 5 mins at check-in. 10 min walk to the gym (but at least they offered access to a very well equipped gym, not the two machine type of thing so frequent in hotels). Apartment was in the basement, which we didn't know before we got there (but was still fairly) light and airy. Lot of noise from children running in apartment upstairs.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff - super comfy room. Locations was perfect for a short walk into town.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent. Decent quality ingredients and just the right size. We liked everything about it. The room was comfortable, not huge but this is an expensive location and we were perfectly fine with it. The guests lounge was really great! the honour bar was well used by some patrons and a staff member came in to see if we needed anything and offered coffee (which seemed to be complimentary) it was lovely to relax by the fire and watch tv and to chat with some other guests.
Cons: The car park owned by the B&B is not free - we were directed to it and not told there would be a charge (3.00/night). I didn't mind the charge so much as not being told so we could choose. There is free parking about a 1-2 minute walk away which we would have used.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Really lovely place to stay, beautiful rooms, really nice breakfast room and walking distance to the town centre

9,0 Excellent
Pros: Delicious breakfast, great evening meal in the bar and very comfortable room
Cons: Pet hate, beds zipped together to make a king size bed
9,2 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the queen suite which was at the bottom of the garden, it felt like our own little cottage tucked away in the Cotswolds. Lovely comfy bed and large living area.
Cons: We had one evening meal in the Inn. It was nice but I would say the food overall was overpriced and unfortunately after asking for the lamb to be well cooked (I am pregnant) it still came out pink and raw. Puddings at £8 were also overpriced in my opinion.

Pros: Liked the view and settings of the Hotel
Cons: At Breakfast the buffet food was never refilled straight away - i waited over 15 minutes for a fried egg Constantly waiting for other hot breakfast foods (Mushrooms, beans, sausages to be refilled. Ventillation in mens spa changing room was non existant and the toilet was 2x bigger than the shower cubicle.
4,0 Okay
Pros: . Restraunt food was excellent.
Cons: The walls in the bedrooms sections were filthy. Lace curtains grey and in dire need of a wash. This was the first thing we saw which just made us not feel great about the place at all. We were also booked into a disabled room, which was very off putting and unnecessary. They did change us when we asked and put us above each other, which was so very noisy with every foot print
8,0 Excellent
Cons: Our room could have done with an extra armchair.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this hotel was perfect. The staff, the food, the facilities and the location were all excellent.
Cons: Nothing!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable beds, lots of lovely soft towels. Good range of food.
Cons: The fact that tips are included on receipts. Although they say discretionary I don’t feel that it is right to include them. Tipping staff is personal and should be left down to the customer as to who, and how much, they tip.

Cons: Windows were making banging noise because of the wind
7,0 Good
Pros: The lady who owned the property greeted us, she was really friendly and gave us a key which opened the main door and door to our room. Room very comfortable and extremely good value mini bar. They also had an honestly bar downstairs which although we didn’t use, seems a great idea.
Cons: The breakfast was a little disappointing. There’s a small room in which to eat breakfast. For a vegetarian in terms of a hot breakfast I could have beans or scrambled egg on toast which you serve yourself. I think if I had known this was the set up, I would have stayed without breakfast and gone out somewhere to eat for breakfast.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: They have made some changes inside since I last stayed. Nice improvements

Cons: Very Noisy plumbing which woke us up,whenever someone used their bathroom or shower. Tv signal kept going off( not a major problem if you not bothered about tv) breakfast lovely and good choice but quite small, e.g. egg royale you got half a muffin with salmon and one poached egg, full breakfast quite small, but like I said quality food and there was also cereals and fruit or croissant if you wanted.

7,0 Good
Pros: Super helpful staff. Were very accommodating and knowledgeable regarding food allergies. Dinner was average but good quality ingredients. Breakfast was good with delicious eggs and mushrooms. Room was warm with good tea making. Unfortunately the mattress was way too soft and really does need to be replaced with something more widely appealing and comfortable. No excuses with this one. The sheets and room were clean, but ample dust over the extractor didn’t give a clean impression.

Pros: Location is gorgeous, right on the town square across from the church. We had a gorgeous view of the green and the hillside beyond - a scene right out of a movie! Friendly and helpful staff, delicious dinner and breakfast, comfy beds and an utterly charming little town. Good WiFi for those who need it, and a really helpful little booklet in the room with more information as well as a little history about the hotel. We would return to Painswick and the Falcon in a heartbeat, and will heartily recommend it to anyone.
Cons: The only imperfection is that voices are easily heard in the sort of 'foyer' outside the rooms. However, this caused us no trouble at all and guests are reminded with a sign to be respectful while passing through that space.

Cons: Wasnt anything to dislike.
7,9 Good
Pros: The property was unique and a bit quirky . I enjoyed the closeness to the town. It was pretty to sit outside with a drink by the fire Pitt.
Cons: Because the hotel is by water the noise of the water running did keep us awake at night.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast fantastic, staff friendly, evening meal delicious, housekeeping great. Reception friendly, grounds well kept.
Cons: Due to age of building and quirkiness there was 8inch slope on room floor, which adds to the charm, however bed runs down hill, so feet are higher than head. Blocks at headend would help to bring bed level. Shower was small and due to water pressure was difficult to soap up without being blasted off before application. As a resident nowhere was it published to make reservation for dinner.

Cons: Really friendly and helpful reception staff. Comfortable room. Great breakfast. Will stay again.

Pros: The Hotel is in a picturesque setting and the staff were extremely efficient, polite and helpful. Must be a great location in the warmer months with all the outdoor seating by the river. Breakfast great as was the evening meal.
Cons: Could do with a separate relaxing lounge area for hotel residents.

Pros: Clean comfortable rooms with attentive staff and first class breakfast.
7,5 Good
Pros: Great location. Friendly staff.
Cons: A very small room in the attic space with an old bed that made more noise than you would believe every time you moved. Compared to the sort of room and bed you get in say a Premier Inn for much lower cost, it simply isn’t value for money.

Pros: Lovely building and a great location! Breakfsat was great but the service wasnt the best. Both mornings there was confusion over orders and forgetting things etc.
Cons: Breakfast service seemed a struggle! Lovely characterful building but unfortunstely meant a lot of noise as thin walls/floorboards. Had to be moved but once out in the annex lovely and peaceful. Recommend avoiding room 23 in main building... The cost of this room did not match the exerperience we had.

Pros: This hotel far exceeded my expectations. The venue is stunning and the staff were exceptional. I booked 1 standard bedroom and one lodge as we brought our dog. The lodge was so spacious with stunning views! I absolutely loved our weekend break and hope to return in the summer!
Cons: There was nothing not to like!

Pros: Breakfast is included in the price of all stays. The cooked option is available to non residents at £16:00. That would be a bargain, due to the setting and ambience of the room, the quality of all food offered and the personal service. Fish options include kipper & smoked salmon. The hotel makes their own marmalade. All hot food is cooked to order with a wide selection of items. Really very good. Rooms are well appointed, beds are very comfortable, pillows especially are of excellent quality. Good country views, rural, roadside location. A traditional building with outbuildings and linkage, all set in extensive grounds with loads of parking. Visited on 01/01/2020, with about 16 other overnight guests.
Cons: Nothing really, although some might find the size of the site intimidating. Initial impressions of the many internal small lounges and bar rooms with linking corridors are a little confusing, but quickly become familiar and charming. Food service covers a wide range from bar snacks with a pint by the fire, to a quality restaurant. Seems popular with groups of locals, who seemed to appreciate the facilities. Part of an independent group of Cotswold hotels built up by one family over the years, obviously with much care and attention to detail. Sold as a block about two months ago to Fullers, following the sale of their brewing interests. It will be interesting to see if Fullers are content to run this lovely hotel on the same lines as the previous owners. I hope that they do and I will definitely visit again in 2020.
