Location, room was really comfortable
The dinner on 19.04 was wonderful but the dinner on the next day was really bad. The risoto was not good and also the desert also bad. It seems a different chefs was on duty. Also we ask a red wine glass and the supervisor told us it was not allowed, just the white wine glass because it was expensive. If it is the cause the hotel should charge a cost and refund the guests once the glass was returned and not making a rule and prohibiting the guests to have a suitable glass of wine.
Hotel Edelweiss it is like the flower itself, so rare to find and it only grows in high altitude. Hotel is such a hidden gem, located in 2090 meters above sea level, doorstep skiing. Food is so delicious, place is clean and extremely well maintained, big THANK YOU to Thomas, Julia, Swheta (hopefully did not forget anyone and wrote all your names correct) who made our staying very pleasant. I have received a complimentary bottle of prosecco in front of our door on my birthday, which was so kind and surprising. All the staff pay attention to details. A picture is worth a thousand words, you are all amazing, because what matters is how you made the people feel, not what you said.
Friendly staff, great location on the slopes, great food
Generally very good - beautiful location & excellent for the skiing. Lovely views from room and room was clean & comfortable. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Bar area was a bit “stale” & often no staff. One coffee machine at breakfast that was often broken & big queues. Breakfast a little limited in choice for the price. Pool area not staffed and not relaxing & no drinks machine or water cooler. Rooms didn’t have any mini bar or tea/coffee facilities - this was disappointing
Breakfast & evening 5/6 course meals were outstanding - huge compliments to the chef(s). Waiter/waitresses all extremely friendly and very knowledgeable with any queries we had at meal times. Afternoon tea provided after a day on the slopes which was most welcomed. As we had thirsty children, it would have been nice to have water to help yourself too rather than having to get behind the bar, which on occasions is busy. Gym & Pool Facilities excellent. Very quite rooms.
Having to constantly ask for tap water! Pillows not the most comfortable and apart from the comfort of the beds being good, the sleep was disturbed by not having a good firm pillow. Spa facilities although fantastic, didn't use as much as would have liked to as 'nude' which I personally was uncomfortable with (it's probably a British thing!) but kids aged 15 & 17 wouldn't use at all due to this which was disappointing. You do have the option to wear your swimming costumes, but for younger children (over 12) they were uncomfortable with people who were nude, and so was I as a parent of teenagers. Perhaps have one half for nude area, and the other for people who wish to wear bathing suits? which was a shame as facilities in the spa area are fabulous.
