I am reaching out regarding a very disappointing experience with a Sixt car rental booked via Kayak. When I arrived on 6 November, Sixt refused to give me the car, claiming that my Polish driving licence was not valid for a Swedish resident. This information is completely incorrect — Polish licences are fully valid in Sweden, as both countries are EU members. After I verified this and contacted Sixt customer service by phone, they admitted the mistake and advised me to make a new booking from 7 November 15:30 to 8 November 16:00, promising a discount for the inconvenience. I deliberately chose 15:30–16:00 so the rental would exceed 24 hours and include 600 km, as confirmed in the Kayak reservation. However, the final rental agreement issued by Sixt included only 300 km, and I was later charged 907.21 SEK for “extra kilometers”. This directly contradicts the terms of my original booking. Additionally, the “discount” offered by Sixt was minimal (around 100 SEK), which is far from adequate compensation considering that I lost a full rental day, had to travel to their office twice, and missed a work day — I am a doctor, and this caused significant disruption and time loss. I believe this situation reflects a serious service error and misleading booking handling by Sixt. I am asking Kayak to intervene on my behalf to ensure Sixt: -Refunds the incorrect extra kilometer charge (907.21 SEK). -Provides fair compensation for the lost rental day and inconvenience. I hope Kayak can help mediate this issue with Sixt, as I trusted your platform to guarantee fair and transparent service. Thank you for your time and assistance. Sixt Customer Service lied to me.! I called to make sure that they provided shuttle from the Sonestan to the airport. It cost me $35 to take an Uber. The person at the counter said " well Customer service is in India. They don't know we don't have shuttle. Sixt only gsve me two off site drop off locations.
