The tranquility; the staff; the food.
Not much natural light in the room.
Cleanliness and great food and friendly staff Everyone was so helpful I especially loved the olive trees and rosemary and vegetables growing all over
Friendly staff. Warm charming atmosphere.
On the positive side the breakfast and food, although not extensive, was excellent. The cakes were delicious and the evening meal was very good. The staff who served dinner and breakfast were extremely friendly and attentive. Cleanliness was also very high as the room was spotless. There are free bikes and a bar which serves a good selection of gin. You can also use the sister property Borgo Egnazia, which was very useful, due to the overcrowding and small pool at the Masseria. Food and spa services can be charged back to your room and you can cycle from the Masseria in less than 10 minutes. We used the Borgo Egnazia's large pool for a day and had lunch at one of their restaurants.
This is not a 5* hotel as the facilities are rundown and very basic. The rooms are very small, dark and poorly furnished. We booked a suite which was really just two interconnecting rooms, with two very small bathrooms, two mini bars and two separate entrances and key numbers. The sitting room area had a single bed for the seat, and this was not very comfy. The hotel sells itself on being rustic and romantic. However, we have stayed in other hotels and Masseria's which are described as rustic, but the standard of the rooms and quality of the furniture was 5*, here it was tired and tatty.Instead of glasses in the room we had polystyrene cups, my wardrobe was a canvas organiser and the outside patio furniture was very uncomfortable. It is described as a boutique hotel but when we stayed there were over 35 people staying, with a small pool and only 10 sun loungers by the pool. There is a small gym but two out of 4 of the pieces of equipment were broken. Unfortunately the prices charged are 5* prices and the Masseria, lovely though the staff are, is not 5*.
Really charming traditional truli hotel. Staff was nice. Dinner was really tasty. Breakfast was great with many options.
The room was too hot even with the AC on.
