7,1 Good
Pros: Good location , nice room
Cons: Reception staff were ok , not as welcoming as most texas hotels
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast selection was great. Eggs, sausage, pastries, yogurt, cereal, waffles, and hot beverages available.
Cons: The internet was awful and whenever you tried to connect to their wifi after several attempts when you actually could login in, it kicked you off.
1,0 Poor
Pros: I liked the amenities it had to offer. The children enjoyed swimming.
Cons: We paid for a king suite and got a king standard upon arrival. I called all over this area looking for king suite so my husband and I could have seperate rooms from the kids. This was the only place that offered it and we didn't get it when we got here.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: mattress and shower
Cons: eggs in am awful
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Overall the facility was very nice and clean. Staff were courteous and it was very quiet. My only small complaint was that the bed was a little too firm.
6,0 Good
Pros: Pillows were very comfortable. Breakfast was a good variety. Nice sitting area. Clean, well cared for furniture & areas.
Cons: There was no comforter or bedspread on the bed; only a thicker sheet. No blankets in room. So turned up Air conditioner but then it got hot & humid in the night. Uncomfortable....
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Clean
Cons: No
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Bed was quite comfortable
Cons: Broken ice machine on 3rd floor
8,0 Excellent
Cons: The lobby needs updating
6,0 Good
Pros: I didn't get to eat breakfast. I had to attend the sedation class on the first floor
Cons: Not enough creamer in the room .there was only 1 decaf coffee.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Location near restaurants.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I’m pregnant, so obviously the most important and impressive aspect of the hotel was the breakfast. I was so moved by the amount of food that the words “it has been a bountiful harvest this year pa” escaped my lips—perhaps too loudly.

Overview Reviews
Experience an exceptional balance between business and pleasure at one of the newest hotels in town, just across the interstate from one of the ten largest outlet malls in the United States. We are situated between San Antonio and Austin, Texas, approximately 35 minutes either way. Visit our local attractions - Texas State University, Aquarena Springs, Spring Lake, Schlitterbahn New Braunfels, Tubing down the San Marcos River, and the Texas Ski Ranch. Wimberly is great for antiquing and known for their gorgeous wineries, only 15 minutes away. We are also located by a beautiful semi private golf course at Kissing Tree.
7,1 Good
Cons: Breakfast was not free, like it is at other comparable hotels for the same price.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and clean.
Cons: Priced a little high per night but it was the weekend after July 4.
7,9 Good
Pros: Staff at the lobby cafe were VERY nice!!!
Cons: Room A/C didn’t get as cold as it should have based on the thermostat
8,3 Excellent
Pros: This property is the best in San Marcos. I have a daughter attending UTSA and another at Texas State. If I am visiting one or both this is the hotel of my choice always! It is safe, clean (and I am a stickler for clean hotels), the employees are always polite and I never worry about towels, service or safety. I love this property and am there maybe 6 times a year.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Nice and clean. All tried the best to understand my daughters as our main language is Spanish.
5,4 Okay
Pros: The room was very big.
Cons: The front desk seemed understaffed. Also, the description of the hotel on this website is false information. It says there is an indoor pool when in fact this location does not have one. That was the only reason we booked this hotel. The pool had little bits of styrofoam floating everywhere and it was all over the outdoor pool furniture.
6,3 Good
Pros: location
Cons: A little Pricey without continental Breakfast
9,2 Excellent
Cons: No complimentary breakfast!
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Room size
Cons: Handicap shower was complicated to use
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The room was big, it was very clean and the bed and pillows were excellent.
7,1 Good
Pros: The beds were comfortable, nice updated look inside the rooms.
Cons: I purchased my stay with breakfast included. However, this location has a bistro style breakfast bar, with and order menu (no breakfast buffet). Meaning we were told we had a $20 limit and our ordered items were $29. Therefore we were charged for the additional $9+ tax items. This was on top of a sadly portioned plate. In addition we found strands of hair in the refrigerator. Also, at checkin the wifi was down for the remainder of the night.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness
Cons: Nope!

3,3 Mediocre
Pros: The beds were comfortable.
Cons: The bedroom we were assigned to at first was right on major road with traffic noise until 2 am. Dirty carpets, and windows. Air conditioning vent blows right on to your head where pillow is located. Street lights also flood the bedroom at night. The bathtub drain was stopped up so that within a minute of a shower you'd be standing in a lake of water. The bedroom assigned to us on the 2nd and 3rd night had cockroaches on the bed and the walls were so thin that unpleasant noises through the night could be heard from adjacent rooms.
7,1 Good
Pros: House living room

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beds are off the meter so comfortable. Staff was amazing, highly recommend.

Cons: The air conditioner in our room didn’t stay on for more than 3 minutes and it was uncomfortably hot all night and morning.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly
Cons: Nothing
4,2 Okay
Pros: Did not get to eat the breakfast, as there were so many people in the hotel, we had 3 small children and there was no where to eat and they ran out of food fast.
Cons: I asked for the two rooms to be close together. They weren't even on the same floor. One room had a big air freshener plugged in the wall at the desk with "DO NOT REMOVE" written in black marker, obviously attempting to mask other smell. UGH! Horrible hotel. Old, worn and not maintained. We had 3 adults and 3 kids. The hotel was full of maybe construction workers (staying a while) and they pretty much took over the entire pool area. The hotel sits right on the freeway and is very noisy all night and all day long. It was dirty, The elevator is tiny and we could not get all 6 of us and our luggage on at one time.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was great, the bed comfortable and check in quick and easy
Cons: The breakfast wasn't very good. The coffee was cold and the employee in charge was listening to her phone with ear phones more interested in it than her job
10,0 Excellent

4,2 Okay
Pros: The staff was nice.
Cons: Our bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The people staying above us ran around and played for hours making it difficult to sleep. It sounded as if kids were running and tumbling. My husband and I came to San Marcos to school clothes shop for our two boys. We recently had a baby and this was going to be time away for us. Very disappointed in our hotel stay.

Pros: Room was clean and comfortable. Good breakfast. Close to TXST.
Cons: Front desk staff the 2nd night was hard to find when our key didn't work, then seemed annoyed when she had to re-key. On the other hand, the girl at the desk the first night (dark curly hair), was friendly and attentive.

7,9 Good
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff. Good location for our purposes.
Cons: Eggs and sausage were cold. Leaking ice machines. Bright microwave lights.
4,6 Okay
Pros: The room was supposed to be non smoking but literally reaked of smoke. There were cigarette burn holes in all the bedding. The air conditioning blew this cigarette smell throughout the room. We were given 4 mini pillows on a king size bed. When I spoke to the manager in the morning he said the smokey smell was probably from another room nearby. No it was clearly our room. Then he walked away from me as I was talking and went into an office and closed the door. I said to the receptionist "he's clearly not concerned " and she apologized. Didn't even want to eat the free breakfast after that display of rudeness. Will NOT be going back to a quality in. Very bad experience!

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Clean; friendly staff.
Cons: No.
7,5 Good
Pros: Very clean despite carpets & bathroom fixtures showing age. Sounds trivial, but toilet paper holder is up & over your left shoulder, the most ridiculous & inconvenient place to access tp I've ever experienced.
Cons: Small parking lot, definitely not made to accommodate folks driving vehicles pulling a u-haul trailer, or really, driving anything larger than a standard passenger car/pickup truck.
7,1 Good
Pros: The staff were friendly and inviting. The location was easy to find and easy to get to and from. Located close to a lot of dinner options.
Cons: This hotel was in it's prime, probably a great place. It however needs a renew. The bathroom door striker was ajar and only held in with one screw. The door stuck so you had to slam it to close it completely. The drywall repairs were done hastily with caulking and looked terrible. Needs a qualified repairman to go through and fix it back up. Was also not informed they charge a $25. fee at check in for any incidentals that may incur. Never had that done at a BW property before.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: the breakfast could have been better

Pros: They served cut fruit at the breakfast. Their complimentary bottles of shampoo and lotion were nice and large.
Cons: Our room was very close to the freeway. Freeway noise was very loud in our room. The girl at the front desk when we arrived was VERY unprofessional in her appearance. It did not give us a positive impression of the hotel.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The value and size of the room
6,7 Good
Pros: Staff was nice
Cons: The elevator was out so had to use stairs to the 4th floor throughout stay. Pillows on bed so soft they were flat but the front desk did give me firmer pillows upon request. Pool was always full of kids not staying in hotel taking swim lessons. Bathtub was so shallow might have well just been called a shower.
7,0 Good
Pros: Because of the location I booked this hotel.
Cons: After a tiring day I took a shower, and when I open the bathroom door I saw a cockroach on the floor. I screamed for help, my husband got rid of it. The next morning, we went down to the cafe for breakfast. There was no coffee, no plates, and rarely any hot food. There only two persons working. Lucky there’s still some bread, I made peanut butter toast and got myself a glass of water.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Loved how close it was to downtown activities. Next to two steakhouses and many other restaurants we didn't try. The bed was comfortable. The room was spotless.
Cons: The pool was small, but I spent more time in the river tubing. The TV was smaller than what I usually see. No safe in the rooms
6,7 Good
Pros: Location and staff.
Cons: There was mildew in the shower the hairdryer was broken the tub was clogged there was no restaurants, room service or bar in the hotel which was very disappointing.
7,1 Good
Pros: The staff was pleasant for the most part.
Cons: The carpet was filthy and my feet became black after walking on it, the curtains were dirty and the AC smelled musty, the toilet moved and needed to be repaired. I am always placed on the 3rd floor even asking and requesting the 2nd floor has never helped. Not happy with my accommodations or breakfast. I will not be returning to this hotel.

9,2 Excellent
Pros: The room was amply large with plenty of space to move around. Not the best room I've ever stayed in but very clean, and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Great value for the money -- I've certainly paid more and gotten less of a room elsewhere! Overall a good experience and we would stay there again.
Cons: Somewhat thin walls and ceiling -- noise from the side rooms and the one above was noticeable at times but not terribly annoying.
5,0 Okay
Pros: The room was clean
Cons: It was a motel with outside entrance. Not a hotel.
3,8 Mediocre
Pros: NOTHING.....This place was a total dump. I would never stay here. I would have preferred to sleep in my car.
Cons: This place was awful. Scary and sketchy would not begin to sum up my experience here. I had to remain in my car for over a half an hour due to the fact that other "guests" conducting "business" would not move from the stairwells.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Good water pressure in the shower. Plenty of lamps. Nice outlet/charging station on desk.
Cons: Wall A/C unit couldn’t keep up with the humidity, and the cool air didn’t reach over the dividing wall to the bed. Room wasn’t thoroughly cleaned: sticky spots on end-table, dirty handprint on wall, sneeze residue on comforter. Hot tub wasn’t heated, same temp as pool.
5,0 Okay
Pros: the room was suppose to be handicap accessible and they didnt have what I needed. I would not go back to this hotel.
Cons: rugs were nasty. the breakfast was not appetizing.

7,9 Good
Cons: The room not very clean. There was still trash on the floor by the tv. Curtain was dangling from it’s hooks. The pool at first looked good but at close inspection there was a white film through out the pool as if the filter to the pool was not working so I waited a day to see if there have been any changes. Nope even the air smelled wrong as I got close to the door. I didn’t go in. This is the main reason for getting this hotel. It was the only one with indoor pool. I never got a chance to use it
4,2 Okay
Cons: As a experienced Law Enforcement Office, walking into a lobby that smelled like Marijuana, was very disappointing for me and my family, The smell was the strongest by the back door near my room 104. 150.00 was to pricey for that room.

Pros: Location is good, right off the freeway and close to shopping/restaurants
Cons: You walk into the room (we had two) and they smelled...musty and damp. Toilet seat wasn’t fastened on one toilet. Found hairs on the fresh bed sheets. Cons: When we arrive we were told that only one vehicle per room could park in the lot. They threatened to tow and call the police if both vehicles parked there. We had one room, 2 queen beds and their were 4 adults. We had both traveled from 1 1/2 to 3 hrs away. After cooling down a little, I proceeded to count the parking place vs rooms. They had 31 parking spaces but had 44 rooms. As I counting the rooms vs spaces the property manager came out cause he saw me counting the spaces and rooms. In the end I won. I think he finally realized he was in the wrong. Both vehicles got to park for the night. We both were paying customers.
5,4 Okay
Pros: The owners are very nice.
Cons: The room smelled old, the sink counter had hair all over it so I doubted the cleanliness of the place. The owner did come clean it but... Bought my own blankets & pillow to sleep with and a shower mat. You could hear the highway noise the entire time. The continental breakfast is extremely minimal.

Cons: The bedroom part of the room was ok. The bathroom however was horrendous. Dirty door, rusted and peeling curtain rod and towel holder, stained/scratched tub, blistered/peeling coating on tub drain covers with scotch tape. The kind of person at the front desk was unexpected. There was a drinking, loud group of sketchy people on the parking lot by the stairs. Like the title says - you find yourself in a cheap motel after paying a decent hotel rate.

Pros: The shower did not work so I filled the bathtub and the whirlpool built into it was not even hooked up. The next morning I walked out to find my battery was dead and they were no help at all getting my van started although I'm partly disabled. Would not recommend.
Cons: Rude people, broken shower
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The personnel was very friendly but most of all very helpful. We were pleased with the service and attention paid to common curtsy given by staff.
Cons: It is a great location in the middle of everything. However, the hotel needs an upgrade, specially in the bathroom. Toilets were very outdated, and maybe a bit more lighting.
7,5 Good
Pros: The staff was amazing. We arrived at 1 in the morning, and the lady that was helping us was super nice and quick to get us rooms. She also helped accommodate my needs as best as she could. The facility itself could use a touch-up, our restroom door would jam, but other than that it was a pretty good stay. It was clean, and the housekeeping ladies were so nice. The beds are to die for they are so comfortable. Parking was a little weird, but you'd be surprised there's plenty of parking spaces.
Cons: I would say be careful when trying to pull up to the hotel. Coming down the high way, we missed the entrance of the hotel on our first night. To get back on the high way and back down was inconvenient because there's only one entrance located on the one-way side of the road. *This might not relate to the hotel itself. It's more of an Austin thing, but it was inconveniently located.*

Pros: Was an ok room when construction workers were not present.
Cons: Roof construction left debris in parking lot including screws cars can run over. Also was woke up 5o loud hammering at 7:30 am.
2,5 Mediocre
Pros: The location was perfect for my event, and the desk staff and cleaning attendants were very friendly and worked diligently to fix the issue with my room mix up.
Cons: The room was advertised at $65 per night and ended up costing $97 per night. Though the room was a non-smoking room, there was a strong smell of stale cigarette smoke in the room. The refrigerator had an annoying ticking sound and loud hum and the loud AC unit shut off at about 2AM. The parking lot situation did not allow you to park near your room. I had paid for two nights, but when I returned to my room on the second day, to my surprise my key did not work. When I went to get a new key, the desk clerk told me that my room was not available and I would have to change rooms. I had left some things in the room (body wash and scrubber) thinking I would be returning to the same room, that were thrown away when the room was cleaned. Not expensive stuff, but inconvenient to have lost. The room I was moved to was much better as far as smell went, but the room was an awkward design with a lot of wasted space. There were no towel racks for drying towels and no toilet paper holder.

Pros: Room was clean and spacious. It had a good layout.
Cons: It was under construction and very little space to park close by. Roofing nails in parking lot.

Cons: The bed, no channel guide and no hair dryer.

Pros: AC was off room was hot (100’) day! Smelt horrible (smokers had clearly been living in the room) yellow dingy walls, cigarette burns on the linens. 1 hand towel, 1 bath towel, had to plug fridge in. Mold on the bathtub with hair, floors turned out feet black from walking. Gross!
Cons: We were supposed to have downstairs room, wheelchair child. I called @ 3p when check was open, and was told, “no, downstairs rooms, sold out before I started shift” I asked about cancellations, but they said they had already run my credit card on file. So they charge before you check in, automatically per there system. So dang. Ok well we got to the property @1030p and there were people, workers etc loitering, music, smoking weed, having a party in the stairwells and balcony. The same stair well I had to carry my wheelchair bound child up!! The partying went on most the night, loud, and we couldn’t sleep. AC wasn’t working well, and there was no towels. We left @ 6am.
