Location is in the heart of the busy gasslamp which is a bonus but the transient activity is very heavy!
Very clean and unique hotel. Our stay felt like we were someplace special. Well appointed lobby and overall good location in downtown San Diego.
I expect a 4 star hotel to have a mini bar & water. I also expect certain small amenities, like pillow service. This room had only coffee, no water, and no snacks. Also the hotel operated only one elevator during morning checkout, no bueno.
Convenient and well stocked Sunday brunch made for an extra luxurious stay. Quaint hotel with plenty of charm and outdoor areas to sit and enjoy the weather.
From the staff to the amenities to the entertainment the words Class and Luxury come to mind!!
The location is within walking distance to our favorite bars, and the beach. The hotel has a very old school colonial vibe.
In San Diego, there is nothing else like it. The Westgate Hotel offers the finest in guest accommodations. Offering some of San Diegos largest rooms and suites, The Westgate Hotel has all of todays modern amenities. Retire to luxury and relax in the fine appointments of The Westgate. Designed to rival the finest hotels of Europe enter the grand lobby and you're transported by the rich carpets and eighteenth-century tapestries, bronze sculptures and Baccarat crystal chandeliers, antique furnishings and the light strains of Chopin from a Steinway grand. Every one of our guestrooms is drenched in natural light from windows framing views of harbor yachts, a sunset sky or the shimmering city."a contemporary version of such elegant buildings as the Ritzs of Paris, Madrid and London, the Grand in Rome, the Amstel in Amsterdam and the Imperial in Vienna."
