10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel absolutely exceeded out expectations. We booked a King room, which was clean and spacious, I think the photos don´t justify exactly how beautiful is the hotel. The common areas are well taken care of, the stuff is always present and helpful. We came by car and had no problems to find the hotel (even without internet and at night). The parking is located 2 blocks away, the stuff even walked with us to show us the location (less than 5 min walk). The hotel is located in the center of San Cristobal, it´s very close to everything! The streets of the town are always lively and it just creates a nice atmosphere. We didn´t order breakfast since I found it a bit pricey, there is plenty of places around the hotel (2 min walk), where you can have breakfast for half price. The restaurant of the hotel is definitely worth trying (at least one dinner) since the food is amazing. All in all, we couldn´t have chosen better place to stay.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great room and private bathroom. So much surface space to put our luggage and belongings on. Beautifully decorated room and general hotel facilities. We paid for breakfast and glad we did, they had such a great buffet, lots of options and overlooking the beautiful patio. Staff were always so helpful and looked after our luggage after check out. Also put us in touch with a tour group for Palenque, really good and professional company. Would come back here again without question. It was such a great rest stop for us in between a lot of the activities we’d do during the day. We knew we could just arrive and recharge in this comfy hotel.
Cons: We could hear and sometimes got woken up by other noisy hotel customers coming in late at night or early in the morning. Not sure what the hotel can do about it, but it was a little annoying. Other than that, great!

Set around a tranquil arched courtyard, this colonial-style hotel offers free WiFi in common areas and free parking at a nearby location. San Cristobal Church is a 10-minute walk away. You can drive to the border with Guatemala in 2 hours.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Too much noise at night mainly from customers. Not the fault of the hotel per se but if they had someone on night duty they could have quietened them down
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Best thing about Casa Margarita is the location, situated right on the pedestrian-only portion of one of the main shopping and dining streets in the city center. Walk out the door of the hotel and you are seconds away from dining, bars and shopping as well as the central park and several historic churches. Despite this location in the heart of things, it was quiet at night as the rooms are set back, away from the street surrounding and behind a large central courtyard. Also good were the friendly staff and great cleanliness. Also free bottled water.
Cons: I didn't like that my room had no table/chair or desk/chair which I prefer when working on the computer. As I saw some rooms did have small table/2 chairs, I could have asked to change rooms or have one added to mine but did not as I was not doing much computer work. Also, wi-fi was fairly slow at times. OK but not good if you're doing business. Main complaint, important to me: No coffee in the morning. I like to make coffee in the room or have it available from the hotel. Perhaps they have coffee makers in upgrades? Basic, clean hotel and it's a good value if you don't need much.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Casa Margarita is a very beautiful mansion built in colonial style. It's located in the very heart of San Cristobal de Las Casas.
Cons: They don't have heating and the night is cold.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: The complementary Barr (wine is good so far) Coffee and local sweet bread is a plus. The wall paintings and art around the propriety is awesome, it brings you closer to the place you are vising; the dining area its inspiring.
Cons: it will help if they have buffet for breakfast and all day room Service, is difficult to find food after certain hours and special if to arrive late night you cant find any place open, Receptionist is not always Friendly :(, Laundry services are so expensive and not really professional,
5,0 Okay
Pros: The location & the free drinks at the bar in the early evening.
Cons: The room - it was damp. We noticed the smell of damp as soon as we walked into the room! The bed clothes, towels & even the toilet paper was damp ! We complained & asked for a change of room but we were told that the hotel was full , so we couldn’t change the room !! Unfortunately we had paid for the three nights as we checked in before we saw the room ! I don’t recommend this hotel.

Pros: Our suite was well appointed with a very comfortable bed, functional kitchen, balcony over a beautiful courtyard with a pear tree. The bedspread was handmade from local Chiapas weavers and really added to the experience. All staff was responsive and friendly.
Cons: There was a rooster in a coop nearby that interrupted our sleep until we realized the hotel had provided a heater/fan that had enough white noise to drown out the rooster :). It worked well.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Very good hotel for older people or a couple looking for something rustic and cozy atmosphere!
Cons: In fact, everything was amazing, maybe the restaurant isn't the best. To rustic for a young couple in my opinion!

5,0 Okay
Pros: I totally liked the location and beauty of this place. The rooms were a bit dark, but very nicely decorated with classical furniture. And everything was very clean. The people at the reception were very friendly.
Cons: One nuisance, which is behind my medium evaluation, is the handling of the laundry, which is totally overpriced; about double what I paid at other hotels in Mexico. 35-40 euros (780 pesos) for two shirts, 5 T-shirts, pyjamas, underwear of 4-5 days; that's about Hilton NYC prices. Moreover, they changed the price back and forth on the bill. I brought my bag of laundry to the reception and then did not double check the price info they put on it. My bad. This said, the receptionist did also not explicitly refer me to the price list (fine print, but readable) that, for instance, charges over 1 euro for a single sock. I simply trusted previous experiences and the common sense that half a load of laundry cannot cost as much as the room per night (!). 35 euros is not the world and there is certainly my fault in there; you can judge for yourself. What annoys me more is the inconsistence in communication, the shifting around of responsibility and the attitude behind the high prices. When I first complained, two receptionists said I was right about the totally overpriced bill; and that I can speak with the manager the next morning about the price at check-out; but then the manager was not available and a different colleague was inflexible. Long story short: if you don't do your laundry or ask for other services there, it's a beautiful, perfect and well-priced location. Just watch out for the fine print with anything you do there and don't lose your time discussing things.

Cons: The sheets and towels had stains on it as well as plenty of dark hair. We’ve asked them to change the sheets next day as we arrived in the middle of the night. Afterwards it was fine. 10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The garden and facilities are amazing, the rooms are very comfortable and they have a fireplace to warm them up during the night, and also the staff is very friendly. One thing i loved the most was the lecture hall, and some of the amazing books they keep there, I wish I could have stayed more time so i could read some.
Cons: Unfortunately the room window was small and not much light entered the room, so we kept the door open so more light could come in, but that wasn't much of a problem because that way the beautiful garden was always visible for us. One thing that didn't help was that the WiFi signal didn't cover some of the rooms, but there was a lecture hall where we could work.

Cons: You can feel humidity in the bed...

Pros: Garden and design.
Cons: Service at every level: check in, restaurant, check out... I wouldn’t recommend this place, there are much better options in San Cristobal.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The entrance and the general atmosphere in the hotel is fantastic The room is absolutely beautiful with a fire place The food at the restaurant is fairly good Most of the staff is helpful and quite nice
Cons: The staff is really kind but it is difficult sometimes to communicate since some do not speak English (and we don't Spanish) Even if it is a spa hotel no spa was available and nobody told us in advance to our arrival
9,6 Excellent
Pros: An amazing property not far from the centre of San Cris, it was the perfect little getaway for our family of 4. The rooms are very modern and chic. The restaurant has a beautiful garden view and funky decor. The food was good but not mind-blowing. The atmosphere makes up for it, the kids were relaxed playing in the garden.
Cons: Like I mentioned the food was great but not spectacular. We ate lunch, dinner and then breakfast in the restaurant. The breakfast in particularly unexceptional, they didn’t have several options on the menu available and the plates we did receive were disappointing. The French toast was made from store bought bread. They should consider a healthy juice menu.

9,2 Excellent
Pros: The people that run the hotel are lovely, they got the room ready for us an hour earlier than usual due to our early arrival. Breakfast is included, they can book tours for you and the room was spotless when we got in. The beds are also super comfortable.
Cons: It's 4 blocks from the main strip, but on the way there is a laundry, an awesome bakery and some fruit places that sell fresh juice - aswell as some funky graffiti so not that bad a walk.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great. They planned our excursions to visit communities; palenque and bonampark.
Cons: A little bit of noise at night
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The most friendly staff, kind and giving good advices on places to eat. Comfy bed and clean bathroom with hot water . The breakfast was good (fresh fruit + good bread) with the option to extend at extra cost. For us it was enough without.
Cons: Nothing really..

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Excellent location, the rooms and the hotel itself is very stylish. A beautiful library is available to hang out in the evening, good gym and one of the best restaurants in SAN Cristóbal - LUM. The breakfast is generous, a lot of variety to order from a la carte (with an allowance of 160 pesos per person available to order anything and the option to either get refunded or pay extra if this is exceeded. The allowance is generous enough to have several items from the menu). The location and the staff are very good. Would highly recommend it if you are looking for something picturesque, modern, convenient, with top class service and food.
Cons: The only very minor point is that the rooms were often cleaned late in the day (around 4pm). If you do go on tours early in the morning and you come back to the hotel after for a break, it could just coincide with an unclean room or the housekeeper in the process of cleaning the room. Apart from that, this hotel is perfect!

Pros: Eco style one with nature. Felt safe and well cared for...
Cons: They were refurbishing all the varnished wood. Made the stairs tricky
9,2 Excellent
Pros: A very modern and really nice hotel. Modern chic. We loved the decor and the garden. In one word; great! Nice livingroom. Good cocktails. We loved it.
Cons: The manager spoke very good English, maybe she can use her skills to teach the waiters in the restaurant some basic English? They didn't even understand there own menu in English. At breakfast we had a lot of difficulties to get the right breakfast. It all took far to long to come to the table, especially the coffee. Please let your staff know that coffee is the first thing to serve when people sit at their table!

8,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, stylish hotel, nice comfortable big room and high quality food in restaurant (both breakfast & dinner).
Cons: They still need to get some of the basics right - shower was luke warm with low pressure, slight drainage smell from toilet and during one night there was a lot of banging outside our room (sounded like someone was doing some cleaning / maintenance!).
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent for the city, staff extremely welcoming and the room was of a high standard.
Cons: Not much!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The beautiful garden and water elements that were visible in all locations. The excellent and friendly staff so willing to help with everything
Cons: The rate is higher than what we normally pay but it was worth it

Pros: The building is absolutely beautiful we were mesmerized by it. Quite similar to Paradores in spain! The rooms are big, great views of the city. Breakfast is great, they offer a fruit platter, fresh juice, coffee and eggs of your choice. Staff is very nice and helpful! Gracias!
Cons: On our first room the bed was rock hard, on the other one it was fine. The staff speaks only spanish, which didnt matter to us but might be a problem to others.

Cons: Food could be better
10,0 Excellent
Pros: the location was excellent AND the cost was reasonable, I was very pleased. The hotel was also very beautiful and the food was delicious for a great price.
Cons: I cannot think of anything that could be better at this time.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel exceeded my expectations. The hotel itself was beautiful and the staff was very helpful. The location was great, about five minutes walking distance to the center of town and the hotel was located in a nice and quiet area. I liked going to the rooftop at nights, you can take some drinks and snacks to relax and enjoy the views. The breakfast was good. It was a buffet with a little bit of everything, so I would recommend getting the breakfast deal. The staff was also able to get us transportation from the hotel to the airport. I will definitely stay here when I visit again.
Cons: I had no complains about the hotel during my stay.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Loved the ambience and how clean it was!

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location ++
1,0 Poor
Pros: Some of the staff were attentive and friendly.
Cons: We were assigned their worst small room at the back corner of the third floor for a ten-night stay. Their business plan seems based on large group travel so their personal attention to individual travelers is pathetic. Their wifi is erratic in performance with a hopelessly complex and nonfunctional password system.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Spacious rooms with good atmosphere. Nice hotel, kind staff. Really to the city center.
Cons: The staff doesn't speak english. (Although that's true about many places in Mexico.)
3,8 Mediocre
Pros: Location
Cons: Rooms cleanliness and maintanance. Staff speak no English. Poor breakfast unpaithend waiters. (Even milk for coffee was extra charged). This is not a 4 stars hotel as presented.
7,9 Good
Pros: Location, king size bed
Cons: Restaurant food
5,8 Okay
Pros: Personel was very helpfull and perfect location
Cons: Room was too small for 4 persons, dark and stuffy/too warm due to lack of ventilation/outside windows, fan snd airco. Overpriced.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: just have been 1 night there.. received a lunch-box instead of the breakfast. well equipped kitchen. cheap private room close to the center.
Cons: wifi was not working well in our room. it was a bit noisy (people on the terrace, cars on the street).
9,7 Excellent
Pros: It's a cozy staff and I love that the kitchen is open for our use
4,2 Okay
Pros: I didn't like anything about the property. I apologize this BnB isn't to my liking.
Cons: The BnB has two properties. You check into one - and I was shown to the other property. About a three minute walk on a busy street.
6,7 Good
Pros: The breakfast we had was really tasty also the coffee was really good. I guess it is quite a budget option so it was quite cheap. If you would sleep in the main building I think this place would be better but our place was just not good.
Cons: The check-in process was not nice. The guy was sighing while checking us in. We were lead to another building which was just not a nice place. The floor in our room was dirty and we had to walk through the rain to get to to toilet at night. The floors were really slippy. For the last morning we were picked up by a shuttle so we wanted to have breakfast a little bit earlier. However they told us this was not possible. We find this weird because we paid for it and 7 AM is certainly not a strange time for breakfast. We found the rooms to be unpersonal without any equipment such as a drawer or a painting.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Good value for money. Best Wifi in Mexico so far.
Cons: Réception is not open 24/7, but they allow us to check-in at 22h. Your room (like ours) could be on a secondary location 100m away. Rooms are humid (the weather doesn't help ;)
7,9 Good
Pros: Very friendly staff, nice breakfast, good location, clean rooms. Was able to store my bags at no extra charge for the remainder of the day when I checked out.
Cons: My room was in the second building. The doors there don't have regular locks, but steel bars that you close and put a lock on. In and of itself this is fine, however, when you open and close these steel bars it makes such a loud, screeching sounds that the people next door could wake up from the sound. I know I did. There was no soap to wash your hands with at the toilets. No curtains either.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Room was basic but we had plenty of space for our stuff and it was comfortable enough. It's literally 3 minutes walking from the main pedestrian street in San Cristóbal. Very good breakfast.
Cons: The kitchen closes at 9pm, and must open later than 10am (we could never use it, because that was the latest we left the hostel during our stay and we always came back later). Breakfast, though very good, is slow to be served on days where the hostel is busy, so if you are going on a daytrip, plan some extra time for breakfast just in case.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Nice people, clean and friendly!! Always wanted to help if there is any question!! Good location ! You get extra blankets if it's cold at night, just ask!! Loved it there!!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice couple running this place. Super breakfast, quiet place just few blocks from the main square. Clean rooms .
