Pros: It's been 1.5 months since we stayed in Bio, and we still have only the good memories. Staff was very friendly, helpful, always smiling and playing with kids. We had a room on the 1st floor and it was facing the pool & the playground - and we think it was really great as a family with small kids we could not go out in the evening to enjoy the evening show, but we could see it from our balcony. The kitchenette was fully equipped with everything you need. The pool was superb - always clean and warm. We stayed in mid-June, and there were always enough sunbeds. There were also free inflatables, and kids could use them anytime. The best thing was that 6 out of 7 nights, the pool was open from 9pm to 11pm. We could enjoy swimming under the stars in super warm pool. The hotel is very close to the beach, restaurants and shops. Food in the restaurant was delicious (at least for adults). The choice wasn't great, but it would change every single day. It was good that there was a choice of pancakes or waffles every morning. Pizza on one of the days was amazing.

Some rooms were renovated and they looked very comfortable and modern. The rooms were cleaned every day. WiFi works perfectly in the hotel also at the beach. Breakfast was very ok and coffee was good. Kids loved that there was a choice of pancakes or waffles every morning. The tables were cleaned and reset quickly during meal times. Dinner costs 8 euros (4 euros for kids) and it´s cheaper than to eat in the city. I liked pool area. Rethymno is very nice city!

Cons: Bathroom needs renovation especially the tub (!) - it was very rusty. The cleaning service was overall good, but I didn't like dust under the beds and not that clean tub. I would add 2-3 kids-friendly meal choices - our kids were not the only ones that could not choose anything from the restaurant. They refused to eat anything other than pasta or chips.

There’s a small children’s area of the pool. Our room was fantastic and large with a full kitchen including a dishwasher. The balcony was large and the view to the water and the fortress in Rethymnon was beautiful. Our kids loved the jetted bathtub. We loved the location with simple access to a small, protected beach across the road.

Cons: We thought this place would be fantastic for kids with the large suite-style rooms, but it really wasn’t ideal for young kids. The indoor pool is not available for kids because it is part of the spa, so even though it was chilly outside, our kids couldn’t use the indoor pool. The clientele was mostly older, so they were not very friendly to our kids swimming even outdoors or playing near the pool. Our suggestion would be to allow kids the opportunity to swim during a few hours a day in the indoor pool in case of inclement weather outside. Overall it was a very nice place, just not the best for our family.

The kitchen at the room was great but it was not possible to make a dinner there, we didnt need it as we went to town eating at the restaurants, but if I had kids I would prefer ti make som dinner at the kitchen after the kids were going to sleep... that would be impossible.

Cons: When I had made the reservation by Booking, I had to pay for an extra bed because I have 2 children and the room only accepted 3 persons. But when I arrived there, I realised that we had a king size bed (for my wife and me) and another queen size (sofa) for the 2 children. So, I payed for something that was unnecessary.

Cons: Hotel is difficult to find: one unclear sign on the main road, no sign on the hotel, which looks from the outside like an office building. On arrival our reservation (one double suite) was not available so we received two suites. As such nice, but we had hoped to have one suite with the children. Both nights the fuses blew which the second night couldn't be repaired so we had to move the children to the living in the other suite.

Cons: The maisonette room is quite dated and needs to be upgraded. Especially the bathroom. I don’t think these rooms are suitable if you have children under 5 for safety reasons. The breakfast was disappointing, limited selection and the quality of the food was lower than I expected.
