Pros: It was very nice at Yannis's place. We had everything we needed: from shower gel and conditioner to terrace area where we could have our coffee. We had also free wi-fi and TV to watch international channels. Yannis offered us coffee, cookies and raki during our stay and even something to eat for the first day, which was very nice. The rooms were spacious and clean. The maid would clean our room everyday except Sundays, which was very nice. We had the bed sheets changed often. The hotel's pool has a spectacular view and is very nice to swim and relax there. The Kalathas beach is 10 minute away, so we went by foot there. And, more than all, Yannis is amazing! He helped us with everything we asked for, he gave us also beach umbrellas and helped us with all sorts of indications to move around, including ordering food in the room (which was very good). We prefered to eat in Chania, as in Kalathas was more expensive and not so varied, so we took the public bus. It happens some time to arrive even half an hour or more later than it is expected, but it is a good option if you do not have a car. The bus station is 5 minutes away from the hotel. So, to sum up, it is absolutely great and we strongly recommend Yannis's place for a relaxing and pleasant stay.
Cons: The shower's sewer drainage was a little bit lazy.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Beautiful place!!! It was super clean and cosy. With a super warm welcome by the owner he was so helpful and friendly. He explains all with charisma and patience my boyfriend and I liked him so much! Also he said goodbye to us with a nice tradicional sweet from the island. I highly recommend 100% this place. Dayana and Jho
Cons: No complaints at all
Excellent 10,0
Pros: We would highly recommend esplanade apartments located in a beautiful location in Crete. The hotel was near safe sandy beaches and local family run tavernas that served excellent high quality but good value meals. Yiannis was a brilliant host, he has a wealth of knowledge of places to visit in the area and his warm welcome made our holiday. There is something for everyone in this location - walks, swimming, relaxing on the beach or by the pool, historical sites and close to the city of Chania but with the peace and quiet of a beach location. A great holiday made even better by Yiannis who is such a considerate host. We have stayed in many places round the world but he goes above and beyond to make your holiday one to remember. Thank you.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Giannis, the owner and everything else!
Excellent 10,0
Pros: We had a great time at Esplanade apartments! The rooms were very clean and cosy, with beautiful sea view. The local beach is near. Yiannis is a great host, kind and very friendly! He made our holiday more interesting. We came late and snacks were waiting for us in the fridge. If we ever come back to Crete, we would stay there again!
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Yiannis, the hotel owner, is extremely nice and does everything for you to enjoy your stay and it makes you smile talking to him. Very clean rooms with a pretty modern equipment and very comfortable new beds inside. Highly recommended!
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The apartments were very clean and newly refurbished. It is the perfect location if you want to spend your holiday in Chania and you have a rental car. The host, Yianis, is very friendly and he offers his advices when you need a good restaurant or a nice secret beach to discover.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Yainnis is the consummate host. Friendly, and so very helpful. It was lovely to turn up at 10.30 at night to find food and wine in the fridge! The room was top quality and also fresh towels every day and sheets just about every other! The cats belonging to the complex are lovely and very well cared for by the owner. The area is superb for traveling by car in the area and a simple and cheap bus ride from Chania ( best to go by bus, parking is 'challenging', the bus stop is just around the corner.)
Cons: Absolutely nothing!

Excellent 10,0
Pros: Excellent pool. Really enjoyed breakfast and sunsets on the balcony. Only 8 rooms made the service very personable. Beautiful neoclassical architecture. Nice furnishings. And last, but certainly not least, all the staff we dealt with were amazing!
Excellent 9,5
Pros: Friendly staff and lovely en-suite rooms
Cons: Further than you think from the old town
Excellent 10,0
Pros: It was gorgeous and an excellent location to the old town of Chania. The staff was amazing and the kitchen staff was so kind. Would definitely stay here again!
Cons: The bed was very uncomfortable; felt like we were sleeping on a box spring instead of a mattress.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Villa Andromeda is a lovely building, the old Turkish embassy when Crete was a country in its own right, and an easy 15 minute walk into town. The suite we had was very spacious and comfortable. The pool area was lovely and the pool itself perfect. Breakfast and early evening drinks on the communal balcony were delightful with superb views across to the town. Many a lovely sunset was witnessed from here. The staff were amazing. Nothing was too much for them and everyone was really friendly and made our stay very special. We spent a wonderful 10 days at Villa Andromeda made even better by the wonderful staff. Thank you Anna, Zoe, Katerina and Irene.
Cons: Nothing, it was perfect.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: very pleasant and attentive staff. Good breakfast. Good coffee.
Cons: price was over our target budget.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Options for what to eat for breakfast, where to have it and when. The staff gave us a very special stay -thank you
Cons: Shower rather than over bath with small shower head that wasn't always easily positionable
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The location, service and room.were all top notch. Being served breakfast on a patio overlooking the sea at a time you choose was so luxurious . Everyone there was so friendly and helpful, providing dinner recommendations and making reservations for us. We would definitely stay there again. Can't say enough good things about Villa Andromeda.
Cons: nothing
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The breakfast every morning on the terrace overlooking the sea was fantastic. Lovely croissants, fresh fruit, toast and homemade jam. The location was great, overlooking the bay, with a seaside walk to the town between 15 -30 minutes away. There was lots of choice of excellent restaurants in Chania, many overlooking the harbour. The hotel pool in the lovely garden was great for swimming; there was a small beach nearby and others further away. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. We very much enjoyed our holiday in Hotel Andromeda and hope to return in the future.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Charming villa with history. Huge pool in an amazing garden. Great view on the sea and Chania from the terrace. Excellent breakfast. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. They provided recommandations and tips and helped for booking a restaurant and for finding other services. They were so kind to give me a bit more time in the bedroom as I had to have a professional interview by Skype. They offered us some drinks for our arrival. We definitely recommend this place to discover Chania and start any journey in Creta. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Cons: Nothing everything was amazing
Excellent 8,0
Pros: This hotel is ideally situated for those who appreciate a good view; rooms at the front have a lovely sea and city view. The dining room is particularly well situated for the same sea and city view and it is quite magical after dark!
Cons: Not so much a dislike, but as is common in the push/pull wash basin plug system, the one in room 312 needs adjusting so that it doesn't let out water before it should!
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Location was excellent up on the hill it gave amazing sunset views. Free shuttle service was excellent.
Cons: Rooms were small not much privacy on the balcony and could hear toilets flushing in next door rooms.

Good 7,5
Pros: Pool and breakfast are good!! Staff are very friendly and helpful!!
Cons: Noisy dogs barking all night outside my room. Not such a quiet room at the back of the hotel.
Excellent 8,8
Pros: Very comfortable apartment. Good bed and shower. Nice outdoor area. Supermarkt next door and places to have a coffee, drinks and food. 10 minute walk from te centre. I really enjoyed my stay!
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Beautiful studios, really well looked after, friendly family business and lovely pool. Highly recommend.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helped is with everything we needed. They even let us stay in one of the common rooms after checkout so our son could take his nap in their travel cot!
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Very comfortable accommodation with friendly staff. The apartment was cleaned every day as was the surrounding area and pool. An excellent supermarket next door. A quiet area with about a 15 minute walk to Chania harbour, restaurants etc. Parking in the street was not a problem, we always found a spot close to the hotel.
Cons: Kitchen a bit sparse (believe this area in all the apartments is being refurbished this winter)
Excellent 9,6
Pros: staff very good, rooms clean and spacious,
Cons: could have been a little closer to the local bars and eating places.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Spotless hotel. Good location, good breakfast. Nice and quiet and relaxing. 15 min walk to harbour area (5 euro in taxi). Greek salads at lunchtime, fabulous. Friendly helpful staff.
Cons: There was an issue of barking dogs, most mornings, but probably not a lot the staff can do about that. We would still go back and maybe stay near the pool next time.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Great room with living room/kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. Nice outdoor terrace and communal pool. Easy to park for free on the street right outside the hotel. About 15mins walk into the old town. Friendly staff.

Pros: Host very helpful, provided breakfast for early flight, good touch of a bottle of wine in the room.
Cons: Could not make hot coffee in the room.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Beautiful views from the room and tarrace, good breakfast, amazing host, comfortable beds (they are usually much harder in other places we stayed), the little things such as complimentary bottle of wine and water, even bathrobe and slippers! Bit out of town but there is a bus stop right at the doorstep with a frequent service
Cons: If I had to be picky, there was quite annoying noise at night, whenever it was even bit windy like high pitched squeak which my bf discovered to be a flag! But we had some wine (complimentary in the room) and raki and we slept like babies :)
Excellent 9,2
Pros: We were warmly welcomed by our hosts, who recommended a nearby restaurant that was excellent. The view at breakfast was so beautiful.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: PROS: - Owners Lena and her husband were super welcoming and helpful, felt more like relatives than hosts. Easy to communicate with, offered information and great to sit and chat with - Hotel is actually a huge beautiful home, renovated to serve as a hotel with a huge balcony overlooking the city and the ocean. Perfect place to have a meal and relax. - Rooms were massive, found a welcome basket with free wine, also provided slippers and bathroom in the room. As a budget traveler, this was not what I was expecting and felt very fancy to us. We had a huge wrap around balcony that overlooked the water and the city below. - Excellent shower, good WIFI. Toiletries were included. - We needed a taxi to the airport very early in the morning, Lena's husband offered to take us for a cheaper rate than a taxi. He was punctual and a great conversationalist during the trip. Really made the ordeal stress free. - Lena had woken up even earlier than we did to make sure there would be fresh coffee and cakes ready before our early departure around 5 AM. We though that was completely unnecessary and very sweet of her. - Although it looks far on a map, the hotel is just a 10 minute taxi ride from the center of town (about 7 euro) and was much easier to get to than we anticipated.
Cons: CONS: - I don't have anything negative to say about this property of the staff.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Amazing staff, very helpful and friendly. Some of the best I've ever seen anywhere in the world. Great room, very comfortable with a lovely view. Bus stop just outside the hotel to travel to town. Would definitely stay here again if in Chania.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Wonderful owner, great room and breakfast. Highly recommended.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: This was my second stay at this location and I liked it even more than the first time! Lena is a gracious host and pulls out all the stops. Definitely try to get a second floor room as the views are impeccable. You should have a car if you stay here.
Good 7,0
Pros: View, greeting, good touch, wine and water in room, good bed size.
Cons: Breakfast was basic, bread and cheese and meat.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The owners and staff were super friendly; the room was cleaned every day; towels were also changed daily; and the view from the terrace is just amazing! Highly recommended!

Pros: We were looking for a hotel which was close enough to the old town that we could walk in but not worry about parking and this hotel was perfect for that. Such a nice hotel with the nicest staff you’ll ever meet and the room, food and service was faultless. Must say thank you to the night staff for the hot water every night for our evening cup of horlicks!
Cons: We are not the spriteliest of people and crossing the road outside took some time.

Pros: We stayed only one night at Halepa hotel. This hotel is a gem! The staff is very professional and eager to help. The room was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. We used hotel shuttle to get to the airport, very efficient.
Cons: The Jacuzzi is cold :D
Excellent 10,0
Pros: We liked the beautiful rooms, the nice personnel at the reception, the lunch package for our trip to Samaria gorge and the parking facilities. We would book halepa hotel again!
Cons: -
Excellent 8,8
Pros: Staff is very friendly and helpful. Was not a problem to leave our car on their secured parking after the check-out for half a day while we took a strol through the city. Location is nice, they try to keep the atmosphere and interioir of the former embassy, which gives the entrance hall a certain flair.
Cons: n/a
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Everything it was a beautiful hotel in a brilliant location we shall return
Cons: Nothing..we loved it all
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The hotel was built in 1850 and was renovated in 1990. It’s architecture is classical and absolutely amazing! Rooms are spacious and exceptionally clean. The reception and “living room” area is large and contains a wood burning fireplace. This hotel will take you back to the way things were in the 1900’s. The staff are exceptional. If we come back to Chania we will only stay here!
Cons: The only negative about the hotel is that it’s a twenty minute walk to town. However, there’s a city bus stop across the street and takes about 10 minutes (with stops) and costs a little over a euro.

Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall sense was of a family-run hotel with a personal touch. But at the same time the facilities were really good - and the view from the rooftop was spectacular.
Cons: There was really nothing, so it's hard to write more than a sentence on this! It might be worth mentioning, for those who like Italian-style coffee, that you won't find it at the hotel - but next door there's an excellent bakery that does good espresso. And good pastries.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: We (husband and I) loved this hotel and we want to thank all of the staff for making our holiday special. The hotel is on the main road to Chania, a short drive from the airport and very easy to find. The star attraction is the view from the terrace, and the sunsets were spectacular. There are restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance but we chose to dine at the hotel, and the food was delicious. The menu was varied but we stuck with the owners' suggestions most of the time and portion sizes were generous. Nothing was too much trouble and they even brought our meal to us on the terrace one evening. A mature garden with lots of trees acted as a sound barrier and the pool area was quiet. The hotel is very clean, the staff were pleasant and attentive, and although light foods were laid out for the breakfast buffet a cooked breakfast was available on request, at no charge. The owners and most of the staff speak English so communication was not a problem. I have recommended this hotel to friends, and I would definitely return.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Fantastic location, superb friendly staff, wish we planned to stay longer. Only 15 mins drive from the airport

Pros: We’ve had such a wonderful stay here. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, Heleni and her family welcomed us with a warm smile. Our room was quiet and clean with a very comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast which you can enjoy in the lovely garden overlooking the outdoor pool. The rooftop terrace offers great views on Chania city and the sea and is a nice place to relax and read. Nice bar to have a drink in the evening. There is a bus stop just across the road. Heleni was very generous with her suggestions and recommendations and provided a homemade lunch when we hiked the Samaria Gorge. Staying at Monte Vardia felt like staying with a friend. We cannot recommend this place highly enough!

Excellent 10,0
Pros: Rare Delightful traditional hotel . Staff particularly charming, civilised and helpful . Perfect location in Chania , just 15 mins easy drive from the airport . Situated on the sea ( good for swimming from the hotel), with spectacular views and just a few minutes walk from good tavernas ( eg Cristianas). Very highly recommend.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: We found in this hotel the nicest staff in Greece! The place is just different.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: I love that the building has been family owned for 90 years. The ladies who own it are very kind and welcoming. I loved the balcony!! Words cannot explain how amazing the views are, not only of the sea but also of the city. Great location and very friendly staff. We enjoyed breakfast each morning as well. I would love to stay here again.
Cons: Very hard to find parking
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The ancient but well maintained building creates a positive atmosphere and you have a fantastic breakfast with a special view. The owners and the staff makes you feel at home, they takes care of you in a gentle way. And if you have the opportunity it is also interesting to speak with them.
Excellent 8,8
Pros: The view from the breakfast room was spectacular and the staff were particularly helpful and good.
Cons: Nothing
Good 7,9
Pros: Beautiful building and interesting decor with many paintings and impressive antiques.
Cons: It’s located on the edge of Chania on a busy main road.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: The location was very convenient and much less crowded than the old Venetian Port /historic center which was a ten to fifteen minute beautiful walk away along the waterfront. Staff was extremely helpful and gave us excellent advice regarding activities, restaurants, bus and boat schedules. The house is historic, dating back to Ottoman rule. It faces the sea and the view of the sea is breathtaking. Charming and full of Cretan atmosphere!
Cons: Hardly anything except we were just a little disappointed that the upper level terrace was no longer open to guests.

Pros: It was our 3rd time in Kavos , so it is self explanatory that we keep visiting this place because we like it very very much. It is the perfect place to relax after a really hard working season. What i would like to mention this time, is that the people who own this place, never stay still, meaning that they always do more about their business. They expanded the place with new suites with privat pools, made an ala carte restaurant for lunch and dinner, and they keep upgrading their services all the time. Excellent.
Okay 5,4
Pros: The swimming in the sea, great snorkeling off their pontoon. Some food in the restaurant was great, the salmon and sea bream were really good.
Cons: Room was smelly, problem with the drain in the bathroom, they did something but smell was back later that day. Room was on 2 floors but the stairs up were very steep and not really suitable for small kids or adults after a few drinks! Nowhere to take a shower or get changed after checking out other than by the pool when we had a late flight. Hotel wasn't full and they didn't offer us a room to use for half an hour or any other option. It was the end of season and they were out of stock of a lot things in the restaurant. Some of the staff were great, some seemed to be a bit annoyed and a bit fake. Could be amazing, but it's not quite right on quite a few things.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: I loved the location being so close to the sea. Staff couldn’t do enough to make your stay memorable. Food was good and different from other traditional restaurants .
Cons: The pool is not heated. As it’s not needed most of the year. It is understandable.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Amazing place, staff are so helpful. A very luxurious feel at an excellent price.
Cons: Would be better if the pool was heated as it was a bit cold, although we visited in October and I'm sure in the summer it would be very pleasant.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: The hotel is in a beautiful and quiet location right next to the sea. Although it doesn’t have its own beach, you can swim off its jetty or drive a few minutes to a perfect cove. The food is excellent.
Cons: We found the accommodation a bit cramped for three people travelling together, as the only seating area was outside. Luckily the weather was very good.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The view was great, the staff is so nice, there Was a nice band playing jazz in our first night, that was so beautiful :)
Cons: N/a All was great
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Lovely jewel tucked away on outskirts of Chania Very helpful , pleasant and quite professional staff . Food is great value for money Surely would come again.
Mediocre 3,0
Pros: The views of the ocean are beautiful, the large bed was very comfortable, the Cappuccino Freddo was amazing, welcome basket with small bottle of olive oil, white wine was a nice touch.
Cons: I'm writing this from the perspective you are wanting a relaxing GREEK dream holiday. Other than this property is in Crete, there is no feeling of being in Greece. It's our second time to the island, and we've stayed in many places of equal price point. It's a nice property, nice views, but no local charm. You could be anywhere. No traditional Greek food on the pricey menu, options limited if you want real Greek or Cretan cuisine. Other than the friendly gardener, not sure any locals work here. Property is remote, nothing within walking distance, no beach, but has access to the sea. The pool is filled with kids, despite the pictures of a relaxing pool, and suites with infinity pools, this hotel is filled with kids. Our infinity suite with NON HEATED POOL was not relaxing at all, as we were placed in-between two families. Not sure why hotel doesn't put families at the other end from couples, as upon booking they can see which travelers have kids. When you pay so much for an infinity suite, you expect just a LITTLE bit of peace. No do not disturb signs provided, so we had staff walk in on us a few times. The suites with infinity pools are built so that there is basically NO SUN on your patio or pool, it's in shade 3/4 of the day, which leaves the unheated pools useless unless you want a polar bear swim. No place to hang hand towels by sink, no sound privacy from bathroom, and only one towel rack by shower to hang dry everything. (nothing provided to dry your swimsuits or pool towels outside). If you want a charmless, generic, but fancy and pricey place to stay with kids surrounding you, this is the place for you. If you want an authentic Cretan holiday experience, skip this place. Overpriced, and nothing to do with the real Crete. I wanted to like this place, in theory it should've been great, but the lack of any relaxation, good food, and Greek personality left me disappointed and very regretful we stayed here.
Excellent 8,8
Pros: Camera e vista mare
Cons: Wonderful place , not close to the city
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Gorgeous setting, lovely room, friendly Staff, great value.
Cons: The restaurant was not amazing and a bit disappointing. Not the best Salmon we have dined on. The restaurant servings together with our meal (none) could have been better.

Pros: Fabulous location, short walk into the old town and great variety of restaurants right at the end of our street. Air conditioning was great, large bed with wardrobe, and large balcony.
Good 6,3
Pros: Location, bed
Cons: The ground floor room neighbours with the reception area - noisy from times to times
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The owner is particulary kind!!
Okay 5,4
Pros: Location is really close to the sea and not far from the center of the city.
Cons: This Hotel has no view at all! Welcoming is so strange, cold and weird. felt like an unexpected intruder, not a hotel guest. Though I was the only guest at the hotel in the heart of winter and after the worst rain in the area for the last 100 years they did not offer even a small bottle of water or cup of tea. I have found in the same area other hotels at the same price with a beautiful sea view and afford normal hotel services. This was a really very bad experience!

Pros: This hotel is a gem. Location is excellent and the owners Nikos and his wife are extremely helpful and run a great little hotel. Even their breakfast is delicious!
Cons: We loved everything!

Pros: Due to a 5 hour flight delay we landed in Chania at 1.30 am so this was a last minute booking to save us driving through the night. The charming couple who run this hotel waited up to let us in around 2.30 am. for which we were extremely grateful after a nightmare day.
