Cons: N/A
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Hosts very friendly, Excellent breakfast! Very comfortable room, outdoor space nice. Quiet location
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were lovely and told you things to see and do and places to eat in the area. We had been in the area but quite a few years ago and things change. Lovely gardens and driftwood village and gnomes. Quite magical, particularly lit up at night! Breakfasts are wonderful and can keep you going until an early supper. Bed was very comfortable.
Cons: There are 2 rooms which share a bathroom at the top of a small landing so you are in close quarters if there is a snorer in the other room. The fan provided - there is no AC which really isn't necessary as at night it cools down - is effective but noisy. We certainly knew that it was a shared bathroom and it wasn't an issue when we were younger but is tougher when older.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly generous hosts, quaint setting, quiet comfortable rooms, nice full breakfast. Gardens were beautiful.
Cons: Everything was wonderful. Be aware you will share a bathroom with guests from other room.

Pros: Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Pictures were lovely and unit was clean. A few plastic forks and knives would have been nice to have while eating take in food. Outside was lovely with the flower baskets.
Cons: Toilet seat was needing to be replaced or fixed. First time sitting it moved and kept moving the whole time and we are are big woman. I weigh 120 and my daughter 135. When I booked I was told it was the last unit but clearly it was not as there were several units that were empty so felt like I should not look farther to loose out. Price was expensive for one night and being at the beginning of the strip, but other wise no complaints.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were so friendly and accomadating It was super clean.....great value. Inside the room was the perfevt setup.....beds were on opposite sides of the room Almost a separate room really Will stay again
Cons: Nothing....it was perfect

5,0 Okay
Cons: Quality of usual motel. Price of a good resort.
6,8 Good
Pros: The location is nice if u have a car
Cons: Very simple , u can add a little bet more to rent in a nearby resorts where there is a pool or some entertainment area plus a breakfast included
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The family feel and attention to detail. Loved the garden and trees.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Bonus kitchenette upgrade when we needed a second bed. Though on a busy highway the room was quiet and we had a fabulous sleep. Owners very pleasant !
Cons: Had difficult turning on the TV, turns out one of the snarl of plugs wasn't in. Bedroom had NO outlets, should put in one of the lamps from the main room which has an inbuilt plug (for a CPAP machine). Had to call the office to find out that the power to the lamps was controlled by a switch by the door... But still would still highly recommend it!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room is really big, with 2 comfortable beds. Location is great, easy access by car and bus. Even though the motel is right on the road, the windows really block the noise from outside and you can’t hear anything! Wifi works well and also there’s a fridge and a microwave in case you need it! Great breakfast place right across the road.
Cons: The fan in the bathroom could be a little better, it does feel quite humid in the room after shower... but nothing that open windows can’t fix.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Right on the water, fantastic views!
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The manicured yard is a great compliment to the unbeatable view! The owners put a lot of thought into making the outdoors comfortable: tables and chairs, covered patios, loungers snd barbecue, private exit to the beach. The room has everything you need: fully stocked kitchen, very clean!
Cons: I booked a 2 bedroom, and appreciated beds in separate rooms, but our suite was not a true 2-bed: one bed is located in the open space in the living- kitchen area.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location. Right on the beach, but a little removed from the busy popular area. The beach infront of us was nice and quiet. Restaurants nearby. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Everything was clean. The room was spacious and had what we needed to make our meals, including a good-sized fridge. The patio had lounge chairs and beach umbrellas, as well as tables where you could eat. I'd love to stay there again.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: I loved the spectacular view from our balcony and the closeness to the beach. It had a cute little garden area. It had a little area where you could go into the beach almost felt like your own private beach. It was close via car to the village about a 5 min. drive. It was clean and cute!
Cons: I didn't like that there were people below us out in the balcony smoking one evening and we couldn't eat out on our balcony because the smoke came up into our room we couldn't even open our balcony door. I also did like that when we were greeted we weren't given much information regarding places to eat or restaurants nearby. It has a few restaurants close by but not a lot of choice.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and comfortable. Excellent location and right on the ocean. Kitchen was great and had everything we needed. Would definitely return again.
Cons: Nothing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, clean room with lovely grounds.
Cons: Access ti the beach was difficult because of all the driftwood blocking the beach, but you could climb over the driftwood to get to the beach.
8,8 Excellent
Cons: The toiletries were too funny. The bar of soap measured 1 square inch and it was for 4 adults! There was no room service either on a daily basis.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This incredible little place is a hidden gem on the Qualicum Beach oceanside road! We loved our stay - the Malaspina Suite 106 was spacious and comfy with all the amenities we could have asked for, coffee and tea included. Beds were so pretty and comfy. Cool air through the screens thru the night and hot sun in the morning. The outdoor common areas are abundant, well kept, and so peaceful for an evening BBQ and morning coffee. The views and walkout ocean access were such a special treat. Wish we could have stayed longer, but hope to return soon. You are sure to love this incredible retreat!
Cons: Everything was just perfect. ❤️
7,5 Good
Pros: Great view friendly people
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Well appointed room, great mattress, clean, awesome view of ocean and beautiful property.

Cons: Parking was awful lot was full so had to park on a piece of wasteland and carry all our luggage up a hill . They did not monitor the drop off zone and offered no alternative. For the price very annoying
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and hotel.
Cons: Restaurant was too pricey for family dining, it was more for a nice couples evening.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: right on the beautiful beach. very large apartment style room was great for two grown children. cooking facilities, fridge, outside table etc. nice pool, free bikes and beach stuff, kayaks etc. Just all very easy and family friendly. Didn't eat there. close to caves, nice restaurants.
Cons: sofa bed was a bit uncomfortable but this is a minor thing, overall was great value.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous hotel, fabulous location, everything was very clean, the kitchenette had everything a person could need. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Pool was awesome! The staff were all super friendly and very helpful. Would definitely stay again.
Cons: I had 2 minor complaints -#1 for a hotel that costs $350+ a night there is no excuse for moldy caulking in the corners of the shower it's gross and not at all something I would expect from a higher priced hotel. #2 the toilet paper was gas station bathroom quality- just get the quilted 2 ply stuff already!
6,7 Good
Pros: Lovely beach front position
Cons: Car parking poor as not enough and overflow felt unsafe. No breakfast with room. Good onsite very expensive
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The staffs were very nice. I meet two Cuban who are working there, Ramon and his son(chef) who were very friendly and helpful people. The food exceeded my expectations.
Cons: During Adult time hour at the pool, there were still children swimming and playing. Would be nice if adult time will be Later and longer at night.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Staff and view
Cons: No one new where I could get bottled water, then I accidentally found vending machine, indoor pool hot in room and very noisy and no chairs,
6,3 Good
Pros: Staff were great and professional. The location is beautiful. View from the room was great.
Cons: Cleanliness of the room could have been better. Parking situation really not good at all, only so many spots underground. Restaurant staff said they were not aloud to pull 2 tables together in the restaurant for breakfast for a table of 6.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The views were spectacular, actually miraculous! The staff was very kind and knowledgeable. Room was more than we were expecting, very large and nicely appointed.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Best location in Parksville! Nice clean modern suites. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfy beds.
Cons: The restaurant is a little overpriced for what you get. Some small things in the room: coffee maker didn’t work properly, we had no cutlery in our room (wanted to do our own breakfast in the room), one of my pillowcases was weirdly scratchy / rough. But you stay here for the views and location :)
8,2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. Great location.
Cons: A little dirty especially in the hall. Food trays not picked up and birds spreading food.

6,7 Good
Pros: Our room was lovely, nice location right on the beach.
Cons: The hotel advertised an outdoor pool which was the primary reason we booked. The pool in inside with a slatted open roof, this does not make it an outside pool. There was no where to relax and sunbathe. They should call it an inside pool. We felt ripped off.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location and view from our balcony were beautiful. Close to everything we wanted to do and the pool was great.
Cons: Didn't like the expresso machine in the room as we don't like expresso. We just wanted a basic cup of coffee and tea in the morning. Would have prefered one of those little coffee makers. And the hot tub jets were not very powerful. More like a tap running than a jet tub. But it was great other than that.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: the location was excellent and the view was excellent as well right on the beach with beach access. the breakfast choice and quality was average but adequate as was the dinner menu
Cons: the food quality and choice could have been better
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Our eggs benny tasted superb. The service was fast and efficient, staff were friendly without being overbearing.
Cons: The only down side was when two staff were getting off the elevator, saw that my husband used a walker but didn't bother to hold the door open. We entered the elevator as the door was closing.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff and a nice location. Building was under going renovations during my stay but was still clean amd tidy. I had to at 530 am and was so grateful for the coffee!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel right on the beach. The views from ocean front rooms and restaurant are stunning. Rooms are tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. Ocean front rooms have seating areas on balconies which overlook the beach. Rooms have good amenities including free wifi, fridge in room and coffee machine. Kettle was also provided on request. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Restaurant pipes music inside and out. I stayed on a busy weekend and the noise from the restaurant spoiled the peace and quiet. Very quiet on the other days I stayed.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Stellar view, comfortable bed, great rate, good food, friendly staff.
Cons: Recently upgraded the facilities but the staff need training. Very friendly and helpful though.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very new and bright and clean. Lovely ocean view. The outdoor patio and grounds were very nice. The gardener talked with us and was very knowledgeable and really cared about the gardens esp the beautiful roses in the front garden...quite lovely! Easy to walk down to the beach..on stairs ...the beach stretches for miles which is quite stunning to see. Beautifully decorated room ..all new furniture and beds. Friendly staff overall. Nice pool and hot tub in glass enclosure. Restaurant and patio serves very good food at reasonable prices looking over the ocean. We have already booked another stay in August..but be sure to request a ocean front room or at least refuse to take the small selection of rooms that over look a large ugly expanse of roof..with noisey air vents and tarmac and air conditioners !!
Cons: Front desk welcome initially ackward. The Receptionist was more occupied with talking to a colleague and working on her computer than welcoming us ...she didnt even look up and say anything for a uncomfortable few minutes. Not being acknowledged is very poor. Eventually the colleague jumped up to serve us and welcome us. He was very pleasant and professional. I think he was not expecting to be dealing with guests but he sensed the uncomfortable position for us. Stop with the computer and tend to your customers!! Also very poor that the pool is not open past 7 pm..this is a resort! Some rooms overlook a roof with noisey air conditions....why not make a roof top garden and at the very least don't advertise these rooms as garden view!! We had to pay an upgrade to get out of this room that we were first booked into by making the reservation with booking.com
9,6 Excellent
Cons: Internet was not working in our room on the 20th Ok on 21st.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Location to water
Cons: View of roof top and parking lot. Nothing close by
8,3 Excellent
Pros: West coast modern style room ... think white and clean lines ... great water and mountain views from each rooms private patio... good quality restaurant at reasonable cost
Cons: Eight stairs to haul luggage up to room as some rooms aren’t serviced by elevator ... no microwave in the room and a futuristic thimble Nespolo coffee maker where a more practical conventional coffee maker would be valued more ... new modern barrel style patio chairs are not conducive to comfortable patio lounging ... no in room safe ... swimming pool and hot tub areas are dated and in need of renovation ... designated smoking area located on an island in the middle of the parking lot with no seating or overhead awning is NOT guest friendly
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were spacious and clean. Appeared recently renovated.
Cons: Was disappointed with the location of our room. Third floor overlooking a very messy roof and facing an apartment under construction. No view as such. Was woken 11.30pm by somebody doing work on the roof - Contacted reception @ 12.30am who did not seem to know what was going on.

Pros: I liked that we were upgraded to a cottage. It was nice as it had a back yard and picnic table to sit at. I enjoyed feeding the bunnies. Very nice experience.
9,6 Excellent
Cons: we should have asked for the ground floor, but having said that they were most helpful carrying the bags upstairs
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very minimal. A little cereal and partially frozen muffins. They had bananas, yogurt and juice.
6,3 Good
Pros: Bed was decent , excellent water pressure for the shower. Decent location. Generally the room was clean. Ok place for one night buts that’s all.
Cons: The room smelled old , probably was from cigarettes in the day. Bathroom smelled of urine,
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean and cosy. It was a small but we'll equipped room with a tiny kitchen. We enjoyed our stay there. Friendly staff, great location (we could walk to the Parksville Community Park with our 2 kids) , with some choices of restaurants and 3 grocery stores within walking distance.
Cons: The electric kettle was a little rustic inside, may need replacement ;)
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Room was very clean and staff very friendly and helpful
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and made us feel at home.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Location are perfect, all amenities are within walking distance. Wifi is very fast. Other guests are friendly during our stay. The most we like is they have three beds suite which is very rare in the areas. Maybe that’s why we stayed here three times in the past.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location was good.. Yogurt & fruit toast and cold cereal was the breakfast offering. That is my standard breakfast
Cons: my neighbouring suite were awake and noisy at 6 am

Pros: Spacious apartments with great amenities. Swimming pool And hot tubs were sparkling clean. Path to the beach Free beach toys and balls to borrow
7,5 Good
Cons: Ocean Trails going smoke free.....one designated smoking area only. Would help to have several areas throughout the property as the units are spread out. Did not please the smoker in our party. I beleive smoking outside is okay....not in the units would surely be respected. On this issue, I would not recommend to anyone with a smoker in their party.
9,2 Excellent

Cons: The playground could be added to
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Have been coming to Ocean Trails for a number of years. Great memories and fun times with family. Will continue to come back
Cons: My unit was close to the road. Lots of traffic coming in and out. Will get a different unit next time.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Jacuzzi, pool, tv, DVD player, cross ventilation, fan, beach access
Cons: I wish it were less expensive. Last time we had a jacuzzi bathtub in our unit. This time we didn't. Also there was no phone.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location and cozy... rooms were a bit tighter than expected but overall great.
Cons: No air conditioning and small
9,6 Excellent
Pros: You are 3-5 minutes away from the water anywhere you stay here. We Will be starting here again.
Cons: The only thing is that I'm a smoker and you can not. Some on the property there is one location and it's at the front of the property but is good for a walk.
7,1 Good
Pros: The vicinity. We were close to so many great attractions.
Cons: The bed was hard as a rock.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The units are very well equipped. Comfy bed too.
Cons: It would be fantastic to have a larger, deep end pool for adults who like to swim.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Nice location, great beach to sit and watch the world go by.
Cons: Tub/shower could use an upgrade. Door lock didn't make me feel confident.

Pros: The rooms are starting to look outdated and old. They could use a refresh.
Cons: The room seemed a bit dark and the tub and shower seemed old
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The cedars restaurant was a good value. Kids lunch menu( value of $10) was free when purchasing an adult entree. More than enough food to satisfy their appetites.
7,5 Good
Pros: Beautiful view. Friendly staff
Cons: disappointed the mineral pools weren’t included considering the price of the room. Accommodation seemed a bit outdated (carpet in room dirty)
7,5 Good
Pros: The location is great and the staff is friendly The Grotto spa and the Treetop Tapas was great.
Cons: The room was average and definitely high on price; The charges are more for location than for the room itself. The food at Cedars was average and again not value for money
7,1 Good
Pros: Property is awesome
Cons: I think 400$ for a cabin is overpriced. And the ? Firestarter above fireplace should be labelled...i initially thought it was a candle. Was not a candle
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room with a fantastic view. It’s a bit pricey!
Cons: Too pricey!
5,0 Okay
Pros: Nice setting
Cons: Room had a musty smell. Previous occupant's old coffee left in coffee maker. Patio area dirty. Dingy corner room; not even close to worth what we paid. Have stayed there numerous times in the past; whole resort needing upkeep

Pros: Right on the ocean. So nice
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The setting, the included sport equipment, a lot of extras for what you are paying.
Cons: The key hot tub at the point was out of service. Not having basic utensils in each room i.e. cutlery, microwave safe plates, bowls, glass wine glasses, , sharp knife, bottle opener.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: It is a wonderful location and the new owners are clearly trying to reivest in the property. However I think the rates are too high. Waterside hot tub is out of order but I feel I paid for it anyway.
6,3 Good
Pros: Pool and coffee
Cons: No a/c
6,7 Good
Pros: The amenities were amazing. Free SUP, kayaks and bicycles is a sure win to get more customers to your resort. Centralized location was also a very good thing.
Cons: No heads up that there would be no room service unless you book for 3 nights. TV only had limited channels even though directory provided had more. Exterior building requires work as it looks dingy.
6,3 Good
Pros: We use to stay . Resort was well maintained. From last few years maintenance is going. Look like need big time Reno. Our suite was really warm. We have uncontactable night
5,0 Okay
Pros: The location on the water
Cons: It was hot and there was no AC. We wanted the patio door open but a number of times had smoke coming in even though it's supposed to be a non-smoking property. They even had someone smoking right the main office when we were leaving.
2,0 Mediocre
Pros: Not much.
Cons: Old, needed repairs, room temperature unable to control, one small double uncomfortable bed, old pull out couch with unsufficient linen, poor lighting. Firetrap, no sprinklers, patio wall solid so no escape. Timeshare, pool use not allowed unless member.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The room had been updated, the location was good, the staff was lovely, and the restaurant was great.
Cons: The property doesn’t have air conditioning and only one small ice machine, very far from the guest rooms, and the view could be improved by trimming the large trees out front.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: We did not have breakfast at the facility.
Cons: The restaurant seemed very bare compared to earlier visits with the marvellous aquarium display. We both thought the idea of steak and shrimp would be great but the steak was lifeless and the potatoes over done and too much. The staff were wonderful as this was our 50th anniversary.
7,9 Good
Cons: in mid-night, the alarm ring twice. we did not cooking, did not smoking, just sleeping. all of us sleeps terrible with the alarm. horrified.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Love the location of this resort
Cons: n/a
7,7 Good
Pros: Comfort, hiking trails, gourmet food close by
Cons: For some reason. The booking.com reservation didn't come through- it was frustrating for us in that I had to email them the booking confirmation, and this was supposed to be easy... But it did work out in the end. :)

Pros: Breakfast met all our requirements and the coffee was excellent. Found the towels nice and soft and plentiful which was very nice.
Cons: I am used to a softer bed being elderly and would have liked another safety bar near the bathtub and a higher toilet. ha ha Of course you probably have that in the disability rooms which we couldn't get when I reserved. Otherwise everything was great....nice and clean and also quiet.
