Pros: The location, easy to find on the 19a costal road, the rooms in the new building are outstanding. Everything is of high quality. We booked 1 night stayed two! Dinner in the restaurant was stunning and breakfast amazing service. Beds and pillow for a good nights sleep. Pool and spa spotless and are a bonus.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Breakfast in their restaurant was lovely. View was nice, price not bad. Service very good.
Cons: The room was pretty ordinary for the price, and for a place that was a water spa, beside the water, a wall to wall carpet seemed counter-intuitive. Kind of damp and made you wonder about what might be growing in it.
Good 7,1
Pros: Beds were great. Spa was great. Gardens were beautiful.
Cons: Poor massage. Stiff staff at reception and in spa. Too expensive in bistro. Carpets needed renewing.
Okay 4,8
Pros: Ocean Front View
Cons: Booked a room on the main floor due to mobility issues when we arrived our room was on the 2nd flr. We were offer the only room on the main floor that was available it was the last one yet to be renovated and updated. WTF??? Why would we take that?? The upstairs room must have been updated years ago! If we liked we could also upgrade to a king room as they were in a section of the resort that had an elevator but that would cost an extra 80.00 a night from what were paying. We took the room on the second floor and did the stairs. We felt we were being punished with the leftover, last on the list dumpy room because we used an online service to book. Most uncomfortable beds we have ever had at any place we have ever stayed. Not sure how old the mattresses were but I haven't seen ones like that for many many years, my parents owned a resort 30 some years ago and they looked very familiar even the handles were falling off. When we inquired at the front desk the next morning about what could be done with the terrible mattress we were told that a lot of people like a harder mattress and they offered to put on a foam topper, as well move us to a main flr room. We returned from a day out our suitcases had been moved to a new room but they never put the topper on the same ugly worn out hard mattresses, Mgmt said that they didn't have anything for the queen rooms only for the king beds and there was really nothing they could do except maybe put a few comforters down as a topper??? Needless to say we did not stay the second night and checked out instead of suffering through another sleepless night. Basically the facility had beautiful grounds well cared for but the rest of the place minus the lobby was dumpy and run down .
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Loved the location right on the coast. Loved the individual fire pits and beautiful gardens. Nice little pool. Good restaurant food.
Mediocre 3,8
Pros: Nothing, would never stay here again.
Cons: Over-rated old and worn room, unclean, unfriendly staff at check, inexperienced and unhelpful.
Excellent 8,8
Pros: The pool and gardens areas are lovely.
Cons: The waterfall in the pool was loud. My friend and I groaned every time someone turned it on. The staff also turned it on which I thought was odd. We couldn't get a table in the lounge until 8:30pm. We were also told upon check in that both menus were offered in both the restaurant and the lounge, but that didn't seem to be the case. The restaurant menu wasn't available in the lounge. Also - what is with the staff turning off the fire pits at 10pm? I felt like a child being told to go to bed! Absolutely ridiculous! After waiting to have dinner - there was quite a wait list and they don't take reservations- there wasn't really time to enjoy the garden and fire pits. With the pool and fire pits being closed at 10pm I would think twice about a second stay. It's not as if you can go anywhere else close by.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel is is in a beautiful location and seems to be overall well kept. I
Cons: was however, disappointed with the carpet stains all over the carpet in room 104. It appeared stained, dirty and worn.... not up to standard of the rest of the hotel was my thought. Otherwise, great place! Would book again in different room!
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Everything was as it was described.
Cons: This hotel & spa does exactly what one would expect.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Beds like marshmallows, heavenly views, just amazing.
Good 7,9
Pros: The restaurant is fantastic for a special meal. The gardens are beautiful and staff is friendly. Liked the fireplace in the room and the fire bowls to sit around at night.
Cons: I was in the older building and it could use a refresh, particularly to the stairs and outside. I stayed in October when it was a little cooler, so blankets at the fire bowls and in the relaxatyareas if the spa would’ve nice. Was disappointed that the room only had a shower, no tub. Was a nice place but there are other spas on the island that feel more luxurious for the money.
Okay 5,1
Pros: Service and attitude of staff was excellent. Breakfast was delicious and the evening desert and cocktails in the Bistro Bar overlooking the water was superb. Hot tub and pool was welcome and relaxing after a busy day hiking in Strathcona Park, The Wave - Relaxation Massage was first class and the perfect way to end our vacation.
Cons: The room. It was very poorly appointed and with the queen bed against the wall, it was impossible to get in-out of on one side. But mostly the view. or lack thereof.. On a previous visit, what I liked best was the view, overlooking the bay towards Comox. This time we were abutting the parking lot with a tiny peak of water when looking out the porch glass door. A disappointment after traveling 5K miles to be locked into an uncomfortable space with no view, Part of the problem is that when booking via a third party, seems like the customer is put at the "back of the bus". Lesson .... book directly?

Pros: Turned up to have brunch at one of the best restaurants in the area and were happy to find it attached to the place we were staying! From check in to exit it was just a great experience and easily walkable to the Wayward Distillery (stunning cocktails using superb spirits)
Cons: Honestly... nothing, we had such a lovely evening in a spacious, clean and just pleasant room!
Excellent 8,8
Pros: The location was excellent. Close to the river for riverside walks around the Aeropark or to walk into town. We enjoyed watching the seals play in the river. Coffee and cookies in the lobby were appreciated.
Cons: Breakfast available on site would have been convenient. A list was provided of local restaurants offering breakfast but as it was a holiday weekend most of them were closed. It would be helpful if opening hours were checked over holiday weekends and noted on the sheet for guests.
Good 7,9
Pros: Awesome all around, very nice spacious suites. 9
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Huge rooms, great prices, clean, comfortable
Excellent 9,2
Pros: hotel just on the edge of town, short walk to shops restaurants etc. lovely riverside walk from hotel. hotel is accommodation only but does have on site independent restaurant for dinners and brunch (twice a week). Rooms are large, and clean with in the room we stayed in a microwave along with tea/coffee maker. nice hotel. Lobby had coffee and cookies all day long (free).
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Great room. Lots of space. Comfortable beds.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Very comfortable room and just enough amenities for the stay. Really enjoyed having a kitchen so I wasn't eating out all the time. Beautiful gardens and loved watching the little bunnies hopping around the grounds!
Cons: I was on the 1st floor and you could really hear the people upstairs (doing laundry, walking around, flushing toilets). More sound resistance could have been added to the building.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Room was very large.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: We stayed in a very comfortable one bedroom apartment overlooking the gardens. The path to downtown along the river runs by the property & we took it several times to visit one of the coffee shops in town. The location is very central.
Good 7,5
Pros: great staff and location
Cons: do not offer any breakfast
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The room was clean, spacious and centrally located in Courtenay.

Pros: Very peaceful and relaxing spot, lovely hosts, very good breakfast, terrific view
Cons: No comfortable sitting area. Shops and restaurants are a 15 min drive away.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The location and views were idyllic, breathtaking views and lovely garden with a path leading to the pebble beach. Our hosts were very welcoming, friendly and helpful with all sorts of ideas and information and suggestions for places to go, things to do, where to eat. The breakfasts they prepared were delicious, different every day, beautifully prepared and presented. Our room was large, comfortable and had eveything we needed. We enjoyed the two washbasins and the spa bath! There was a wonderful view and access to a terrace with seating and the garden directly from the room. Our stay at Belle Vue was relaxing and enjoyable, a wonderful few days in beautiful surroundings with very nice people.
Cons: We had no complaints!
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Sitting in the hot tub in the evening with ocean view and a nice drink was an awesome way to the end of the day.
Cons: Not sure
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Both Walter and Haideh very welcoming. Pocos and Rocket very friendly members of the family and well behaved dogs. Breakfast was superb. Sat out on the lawn chatting with fellow guests enjoying the view over the Sound as the sun set. Accommodation stunning and faultless.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The B&B is located on a beautiful property. The ocean view from our room and from the breakfast table was spectacular. Every day they served us changing two course breakfasts that were delicious!
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Wonderful hosts and great food!
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Great location with views to the sea, Great breakfast.
Cons: Dogs in the kitchen when food was being prepared.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Excellent breakfast by host, very friendly.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Our hosts were excellent. The location, room and facilities all top notch. The breakfast was beyond amazing. We would highly recommend this B&B. The two dogs Pocos and Rocket were wonderful and we were so glad they were here.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: This is a lovely B/B in a beautiful location. It’s been a while since we’ve stayed in traditional B&B and it is really wonderful to have that experience again and to interact with the owners who were really wonderful. The food was great and the location was beautiful overlooking the water with bald eagles right on the beach. They have two lovely large dogs who are very friendly. Our room was comfy and had a en suite bathroom.
Cons: Signage to the place was a bit difficult even with our GPS! I would not recommend trying to find it in the dark. I would have liked some nicer amenities, including some hair conditioner. You will need to drive to town for dinner, there aren’t any restaurants within walking distance, but the drive didn’t take too long.

Pros: We have stayed at Crown Isle several times and will be back. We love the luxurious feel of the accommodations and the food in the bar is very good. We really enjoy playing the golf course. It is one of the main reasons we come to Courtenay.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10,0
Pros: View of the first tee area at the resort. Upscale design of the unit, full kitchen and living room with a separate bedroom.
Good 7,5
Pros: Did not get breakfeast
Cons: not enough towels in room for four people
Excellent 8,8
Pros: I especially liked the view of the golf resort fairways and forested areas from the suite. I also liked walking through the park-like grounds on the way to the main building and restaurants. A lovely natural setting yet close to many amenities which I appreciated. The suites were private and it was quiet which was great after a long day. The main restaurant had a decent wine list and the menu was good. I will book again when in the area.
Okay 5,0
Pros: The view. How you were on a Golf Course and the peacefulness of it all.
Cons: - The bed was horrendous. It sagged in the middle. So whenever we rolled over we rolled into each other. - Way to hot there is not in room air conditioning. Just a regular in window one. - Found A LOT of bugs. Even with the notice I found it to be a lot more then it should be. Almost as if someone left the door open before we got there. - Our fridge still had stuff in it from the previous people.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: The restaurant had great food, both for breakfast and dinner.
Cons: Wish they had a spa.
Excellent 10,0

Excellent 8,8
Pros: Room was very spacious, restaurant was excellent with great service.
Cons: Other than taxi not being at airport to pick us up as arranged. Nothing springs to mind
Okay 4,0
Pros: Good location and beautiful garden like grounds. Good restaurant.
Cons: First we were given an old room with bad musty/smoke smells in a remote location. Then we were switched to a room with a noisy drinking party going on above us which did not stop until we complained to management past midnight, even while the hotel promised us a quiet room. Then we were upgraded to a king suite, which was very nice but not really necessary for our stay.
Excellent 8,3
Pros: Crown Isle is a great resort with all the facilities you can wish for a good holiday or a nice weekend away from home. The golf course is well taken care of and all the employees we met face to face were very friendly and were glad to assist us during our staying. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday so it was important that everything to be perfect.
Cons: Unfortunately we had to deal with a horrible attitude from one of a manager of the resort. We arrived on 13th of September and had to check out on 14th of September at 11:00 am. In the morning on the day we were supposed to check out, my husband decided to make a surprise for me and get another night at the room we had because at that point we were really happy with our staying at Crown Isle. So on 14th around 8 am he personally went to the front desk and booked another night at the room with an employee there. According to the fact that the prolongation of the room was confirmed personally we didn’t expect all the calls and messages we found when we came back to the room around 1 pm. Then we got another call from a female who represented herself like a manager of the resort and said that we have to leave the room because other guests “who booked it for 5 nights” are waiting for it and that we couldn’t book it for another night. I’m really disappointed that “the manager” didn’t even talk with the employee who made us confident (after personal visit to the front desk) that we have the room for another night before calling us and literally accusing us of overstaying. In my opinion a resort of Crowns Isle level shouldn’t have this type of attitude to customers. Here attempts to solve the issue ended with the offer to move to the next door room (which is 4 times smaller and doesn’t have all the facilities which were the main reason we decided to stay. In the summary of the review I would like to say that it clearly was a simple mistake from the employee at the front desk but “the manager” could have solved the situation in a completely different way and at least apologize to my husband who had his birthday but instead of relaxing he had to deal with the job which “the manager” was supposed to do. In my opinion the whole situation was completely inappropriate.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Beautiful extra large suite with a full kitchen, beautiful bathroom and comfortable beds. Very quiet tranquil scenery.
Cons: Needs a make up mirror in the bathroom. And better resort information at check in, where the restaurant is etc. as the hotel is split up in to villa's (separate buildings).

Pros: Nothing
Cons: We booked online. When we checked into hotel we went to our room. The room had such a strong deodorant type smell it was unbearable. We went down to front desk and asked for another room, she gave us another room. Also very strong smell, we went back to desk she gave us master key and the numbers of two rooms. These were not as strong smelling but still smelt heavily of deodorant , overtop of stale cigarette smell. We asked to be reimbursed for our room, but were told to come back in morning and talk to manager. In the morning we went back and the manager first told us because we booked online and didn’t give 24 hours notice it was not refundable. My problem with this is we did show up in good faith to rent room , it just wasn’t acceptable. He then said that we were offered a. upgraded room. They were not upgraded, but that is beside the point ,the problem with all of the rooms was the smell. I am very sensitive to that type of smell. Are they trying to cover up mould smell ,did they just spray for bed bugs.I see from other reviews this is not the first complaint.I would like my deposit back. Is $80 worth more to them than customer satisfaction. This hotel should not be carrying the Wyndham name. If you are not smell sensitive the price is good..I am sorry I didn’t get to enjoy the breakfast that everyone raves about.

Pros: I was looking for something affordable which is what we got. The hot breakfast in the morning was quite good, staff was friendly. Rooms were as would be expected for a 2-star hotel and were kept clean with a small fridge. Beds were clean and comfortable.
Cons: There was nothing that I didn't particularly like, hotel was what I was expecting and breakfast exceeded expectations I would say. Had a good stay.
Good 7,1
Pros: Everything else was ok. Room was clean
Cons: Had to pay 15 dollars for my dog when most places only charge me 10. Put us in a room beside a crew that was very noisy coming in and noisy leaving early in the morning . They forgot to put coffee in the room.there was only cream and sugar packs

Pros: Good location. Close to a lot of restaurants and a grocery store.

Cons: old décor. some of the rooms needed painting
Good 7,5
Pros: This motel is a bit down at heel, but very clean. The location is very convenient, a few blocks from grocery store and other amenities, close to restaurant options. I liked the flowering plants!
Cons: This is a very low-cost place to stay, and that shows in the amenities. I don't like paper cups for coffee, and would have liked to see recycling options.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Extremely clean. Getting on to the property was a little difficult. Had to gain access from the back street and it wasn't marked. However our stay was excellent. Top value for the money!
Cons: Should be a sign on the lower street to parking lot. Had to guess the entrance for the motel. Easy access from South to north but difficult north to south.

Okay 5,4
Pros: The location was good
Cons: Mattresses very uncomfortable.
Good 7,9
Pros: Cleanliness acceptable - some corners needed more attention. Very quiet, nice proprietors, good location. this is the second time I have stayed at this place and I will again when I am up that way.
Cons: Like I said, some dingy corners. No teaspoons.
Good 7,1
Pros: The price
Cons: Staff thought I smoked in property. Don't smoke.
