Pros: Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered. Family friendly. Peaceful.
Cons: Could not have been better. We had the most relaxing time and the staff was attentive to everything. They upgraded our room and boxed up breakfast since we were leaving early.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Level of comfort, standard of finish, breakfast area, choice of therapies
7,1 Good
Pros: Lovely place, well maintained. Staff were generally friendly and made us feel welcomed. Good selection for breakfast. Games facilities good condition and lots to do.
Cons: Unfortunately there were too many insects around the pool area and in the pool which did not make it appealing to use. We were not expecting to find mosquitoes either. Breakfast selection was good however it was not being topped up frequently enough. If you came at 10am for breakfast a lot of the dishes were empty and refilled. Some of the staff at breakfast were not very tentative to the guests. The price for a can of coke at the pool side was 6 euros which we felt was extortionate considering in room bar was at 2 euros. Limited vegetarian options on the menu for dining.

Pros: Amazing location and staff, really look after you in every way. The private beach is class and the the terrace bar and grill is lovely and great views. Breakfast is unbelievable and set in the B&G restaurant with a stunning views as the sun creeps in. My new wife and I were treated so well I couldn't recommend it enough and did not want to leave.
Cons: Just a tad expensive for some things, a 1.5 litre of water is €5.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: We celebrated my husband’s birthday and were surprised with a knock on our door and champagne and cake was delivered along with a birthday greeting from the hotel staff. It was a real nice touch. We specifically enjoyed the sauna and steam room, however, in future we will start them in advance because they were not hot enough. The view from our balcony was gorgeous.
Cons: The first night was extremely hot in the room and after three times requesting the air conditioning to be fixed (the next day) eventually someone came. They apologized profusely and then switched it on at their main control.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I have always loved this hotel. Staff are fabulous views brilliant
Cons: The seating area at bar on the terrace not comfortable
4,5 Okay
Pros: view was great location to town good refrigerator in room although the temperature was too high view from bar was extraordinary
Cons: slow check in didn,t get set aside group room rate OK room view no lock in safe kleenex empty several days slow!! service in restaurant low quality food horrible bed and worse pillows front of bath tub was fiber board charged for ice very poor lighting in room air conditioning never got to set temperature even after being on 24 hours
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was delightful. Scenery magnificent. Nice walking trail, beautiful pool. Facility offered extras if wanted like ping pong table, video games.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: We upgraded to an ocean view room-amazing!!! Sitting on the balcony overlooking the pool and view of the cliffs was incredible! This really is a true 5 star resort, and even better in the off season! No crowds! I even had the pool and spa to myself, quite wonderful! The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were helpful and kind. We went on the 7 Hanging Valleys hike which starts from the hotel, we will never forget the breathtaking views around every turn! Dinner was taken walking distance in the little local town, great food and locals atmosphere. We will return!
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Superb location and sea views. Very comfortable pillows.
Cons: Bath mat is bathroom was very small.
6,0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was excellent - lots of choice. Location is beautiful tucked away in a little cove.
Cons: Change the hotel to smokefree so that neighbours' smoke doesn't enter other balconies. Have notices up asking guests to be quiet during sleeping hours, noisy neighbours did not help with sleep. An armchair in the room would be nice as it was too cold to sit on the balcony in the evening.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The views and location.
Cons: A/C didn't work. Service was beyond slow. Pool closed at 7 pm. Bars and restaurants opened at odd hours
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The food was fantastic from the wide and superb breakfast range to lunch and cocktails on the relaxing bar terrace with excellent views and finally to the Christmas events. Staff were very friendly and the rooms super comfortable. The coastal walk to and from the Hotel to Carvoeiro is stunning and a must do for those able to do it and a definite if you avail of the food and drink!
Cons: The indoor pool was a little on the small side and would be "cosy" if it had more than a few people but hey it was Christmas and not the hottest outside which didn't stop some adventurous people swimming in the main pool. That is not a complaint it is more an observation. Free drinking water supply in the room would have been an easy win.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was on pointe... I enjoyed my stay there.. definitely will choose this hotel again... thanks for the great experience.
Cons: The location, view was excellent, was a clean hotel, very helpful stuff. Thanks to Helena for booking my ticket...

8,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was exceptional. Heated pool was also great and large enough to accomodate quite a few people.
Cons: The rooms are fairly loud, i.e. not really noise proof towards the hallway. Dinner at the restaurant is fantastic but a bit pricey.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Breakfasts were disappointing compared to the high standard of everything else.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel. Very clean, beautiful gardens and excellent indoor pool. We were there in winter but the outside pool looked too. Beautiful decorated too, not the generic stuff you find at some 5* hotels these days.... The staff are the reason I rate this hotel with a 10: they were all very kind and helpful. The food in the restaurant was very good with something to suit everyone's taste. The refinement was the reason we ate in on 2 evenings. Were given excellent wine pairing advice by one of the staff. We deliberately choose a hotel that was off the beaten path: appreciated the fact that you're not in the hustle and bustle yet a 10 minute drive gets you everywhere.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We like everything about it Great resort We go there at Christmas and its tremendous value . Its a littlle bit out of the way so a car is a must But I can honestly say the accomadtion (We stayed in townhouse ) is brilliant

8,0 Excellent
Pros: We were among the first guests after the winter closure month of January. There were less than fifteen guests during the three days of our visit. We received an upgrade room with a beautiful sea view and a nice balcony. The direct access to the beach is wonderful. The building and the interior of the hotel are in Arab style (hence its name 'Oriental Hotel') which is a nice touch.
Cons: The meals, breakfast and diner, were mediocre at best. Probably this had to do with the very limited number of guests during the first week after their January closure period. Also the muzak in the dining room was too loud and too tacky.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved everything - the staff, the property, the room and the view from the room. The hotel has a direct access ramp to the beach. Rooms are spacious and well kept. We opted for the breakfast option, and quite liked the spread.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: - apartment space - jacuzzi in the toilet - surrounding area - comfort room - friendly staff - garden
Cons: - have option in the apartment to light the fireplace - restaurant (improve all food and lower prices) - difficult to locate the apartments, the number of apartments should be more visible to those who arrive at night
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Didnt have breakfast.
Cons: Thought that the paths and walkways needed weeded, rather unkept.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Location and friendly personnel. Good breakfast.
Cons: Wellness was only for 16+
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Stunning setting- peaceful, fabulous views out to see and the hotel is designed beautifully around this. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and varied and the gym and pool facilities were a great addition to our stay. I would highly recommend for families and people who want easy access to the sites and attractions of the algarve but wish to stay somewhere a little off the beaten track with a relaxed and peaceful vibe.
6,0 Good
Pros: Beautiful setting, very peaceful, right on coast and room was lovely.
Cons: Restaurant was very disappointing, was advertised as a la carte but only doing a set menu for dinner which was expensive with very limited choices (turkey drumsticks, tuna or quinoa on the night we tried). Bizarrely they were offering a full room service menu including pastas, risottos and meat and fish dishes, which was what we ended up ordering and eating in our room but why they couldn’t also offer those options in the restaurant was beyond comprehension. Also they had run out of house wine and the only options they had to offer were considerably more expensive than the house wine. Again, we ended up buying and drinking our own to go with the room service orders! So not a great dining experience, which considering the remote location (nothing else within 15 minutes drive) was very disappointing. Also the spa was very strange, as you couldn’t even go into the pool / jacuzzi area without buying a latex swimming hat, even just to sit in the jacuzzi and there was nowhere else to sit other than in this area so if you came out of the sauna or steam you just had to mill around to cool down. Again, couldn’t see why they didn’t just offer use of shower caps as they were giving these free in the room and would have made the whole spa much more useable. Staff seemed almost as bewildered as we were by these “rules” and we were told it was all due to a recent change of ownership.

Cons: Nothing not to like!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at Hotel Da Rocha for 4 nights, everything about the hotel was amazing. The staff are friendly and always helpful. On arrival our room was made ready early with complimentary champagne. We were in Suite 802, Panoramic view of the sea, simply stunning. Both my wife and I had our birthdays while we were away, on the day we returned to the room to see more champagne and birthday cake. A fantastic hotel, great food, faultless. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so special. Jay & Jan Thacker.
Cons: No Negatives whatsoever.
8,5 Excellent
Pros: Nice breakfast with lots of variety. Rooms are spacious. Staff is very friendly, especially Pedro!
Cons: Nothing regarding the hotel itself, but Portimão is run down and dilapidated. This hotel is one of the best on the boardwalk.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Lots of choices for breakfast. Lots of restaurants in area. Close to beach!
Cons: Only complaint is- we had a sea view room, but there was a huge video screen right across the street that played 24/7. If you have a sea view room ask to be on a floor higher then 3!

Pros: Nice property tucked away on the hill just above town, private parking and very large rooms, some with nice balconies. The staff were very quick to respond to any requests or questions, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We only stayed a night but it felt like a place we would be happy to return to, to enjoy the area and the lovely pool. The breakfast (typical continental) was a great option.

Pros: Great accommodation with a family feel, close to the centre but still very quiet, excellent nights sleep. Spacious room with a balcony and spotlessly clean. Lovely private pool with seating areas to relax. Very friendly helpful staff, check in was easy. Would definitely recommend and will be returning there again.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: The staff, the service and the atmosphere.
Cons: Poor quality towels and a very unimaginitive breakfast.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect place for a relaxed holiday. Facilities looked great, the bed was super comfortable. Nice swimming pool and decent breakfast. The staff were fantastic overall, with a special word of appreciation to Bruno (at reception) for the amazing beach recommendations. We also had dinner there on one of the nights. While the menu did not offer many options, the food was of the highest standard, not to mention the amazing service we had by a gentleman named Jose Santos. I am overall impressed and likely to come back one day.
Cons: By looking at the pictures, I was under the misconception that all rooms would have a balcony. Unfortunately my didn't. The gym facilities need some work done. We had a Romantic package upgrade, which comes with a bottle of wine as well as strawberries and chocolate. Not only was the delivery date wrong(this was fixed), when it did get delivered it had a bunch of other fruits and not enough strawberries.
7,0 Good
Pros: Lovely location & landscape - nice staff good connection to many places in the Algarve
Cons: Although we picked the place for pool facilities, it was not readily accessible to guests (local classes taking place?) Breakfast was good but disappointing that coffee one of two mornswas pre-made and dispensed via thermos esp because there is a machine on hand and the # of guests at one time were only max 4
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, well organized. Incredibly good restaurant for dinners with a chef’a sampler menu. The suite was great and provided a lot of space. Big, comfortable beds. Very calm location and a bit remote, so you definitely need a car to get around. The spa area is awesome with a jacuzzi and sauna.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room , we had a suite , well worth it , very comfortable and clean . Nice Spa facility , smashing breakfast and the staff were all really nice . Nice wsrm outside pool , great pool bar with delicious snacks . The hotel as a whole was very well maintained , and Just 6€ Uber ride from Carvoeiro with it's ethora of dining options . Highly recommended .
Cons: Hmmmm , nothing
6,3 Good
Pros: The garden is beautiful and the location is nice
Cons: Room is not clean and fairly old-fashioned
7,1 Good
Pros: The surrounding garden and pool of this hotel are really beautiful. However it is clear that everything is a little outdated and budget for maintenance and repairs seems low. All in all a good place in the Algarve region to get away and relax.
Cons: A little disappointed as I expected more from this accomodation. I booked a suite because this was our honeymoon and I also communicated this to the hotel, however there was no mention of this from the staff and the suite was not worth the money at all. The quality of the cooked breakfast items was really poor (canned mushrooms??) but the pastries were nice. Service at the bar was extremely slow and the person at the checkout seemed to have no clue what he was doing.

Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff
9,6 Excellent
Pros: This place was awesome! The location and setup of the hotel is not traditional but it was very comfortable and all amenities were of high standard! Included breakfast was great and the staff throughout were fantastic. The location is perfect for beach goers or people wishing to have quick easy access to Praia da Rocha. Our room was quite far away in an annexed building, as the hotel is split into different complexes but an electric golf cart service is provided by the hotel if you don’t feel like the walk!:) The room was great and all very clean; it all felt secure and the underground parking was roomy and felt safe for extended periods. The pool and room service were great and the views were beautiful. The hotel is IN the marina and the surroundings and amenities like washing clothes etc were all available.
Cons: Our room was a little far away from the main hotel but just a five minute walk (or a quick spin on an electric scooter) Everything in the local area closes around 10 so if you want local stuff like restaurants you’ll have to go down the town which is just a short walk, but if you’re stuck for anything late at night you might have to wait until morning! Other than that, the hotel was fantastic!
9,4 Excellent
Pros: Close to the beach.Friendly staff.
Cons: Friendly staff.Good breakfast collection. Should tell about private pickup from Faro for guests when booking is made. Breakfast should start at 7 AM.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: It nice to walk or swim, to take a sunbath or lay in salt water pool just in centre of the hotel territory. At the same time it is a yacht port if you prefer to come there on your own yacht ;) The hotel is right on city border and you can walk there or to take a city bus (bus stop is in front od the hotel main entance), or to rent a car and ride around visiting other cities and villages with own different and beautiful beaches, restaurants, shopping etc. I prefer to visit not far Sagres to look "The End of the Earth" :)
Cons: It will be nice to propose in local hotel restaurant more diverse food, including sea food, for breakfast. The rooms have small kitchens, but no frying pan or any dishwashing detergents.

It set the tone for the week, everyone was great, breakfast was good, and a good spot as it was a little quieter than being nearer portimao main town.

Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and abundant. There are pleasant terraces to sit and read and drink wine in the evenings! It’s only a few minutes walk to some of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen, and there are plenty of local restaurants. Also the tourist hop-on hop-off bus stops close by which is a very useful way to get about the area - this is how I discovered Alvor, which is really worth a visit. It’s a charming, quiet place, perfect for total relaxation.
Cons: Everything was great!

Cons: More remote than i anticipated but its not a bad thing, just be prepared for a walk for dinner etc Hair in the bed and food at breakfast one morning Charging €3 minimum per item for the laundry service is laughable, fair to say i didn't use it
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Room and bathroom clean and new. Good breakfast. Amable staff.
Cons: Actually the only reason that I've booked the room and in particular this hotel was the "sea view" in the description. I have to say that the hotel is not on the beach, you don't see the ocean from the rooms or the hall. If you want to go to the beach is 10 minutes walking, but the streets you have to do are not so nice.

Pros: Very well located, just in front of the beach; Perfect for some vacations with small children because beach and pool are perfect to entertain them. If this is not enough, there is also a small park for them to play;
Cons: Buildings are a bit old and an overall remake of the apartments would be advised; Even though cooking is possible, if you want to eat out, there are some restaurants nearby but a wider variety would require some sort of transportation;
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Very Clean place. Inside pool very good condition.
7,5 Good
Pros: Very spacious and clean - excellent location.
Cons: The pilow was too soft and unconfortable to me, and I am sure it would be changed in case we complained, but as it was only 1 night stand I didn't. It was quite noisy early in the morning, I believe this is because the bedroom was on the ground floor, facing the main road.
3,3 Mediocre
Pros: I liked the location of the property. Beyond that there was little to like.
Cons: This aparthotel needs to have a major renovation. It’s at least 25 years overdue. The inside of the room was not only severely dated, it was dirty and uncomfortable. The master bed mattress was so thin and barren that I got poked with springs all night long. The pull out sofa bed with its 3 inch thick mattress my 5-year-old slept on was actually more comfortable. My kids feet were black if they didn’t wear their shoes in the room. There were black hairs behind the bathroom door (we are blondes and brunettes), a giant hairball in the kitchen. There were no toiletries, the washer/dryer barely worked (I had to hang every piece of laundry I washed), no detergent to wash any dishes we used. The walls of the room were paper thin and we could hear road noise and the 11 pm dumpster pick up like it was in the room with us. The WiFi signal was unreliable and weak. The main pool was frigid and the most shallow point as over 5ft deep. My kids are great swimmers, but the pool wasn’t enjoyable because they couldn’t touch anywhere and we were told no floats were allowed. They did have two kiddie pools but they were tiny and only 1.5 ft deep., which weren’t much fun for the 8 and 9 year olds. We had breakfast on site once, and that was enough. The food was not good. We also ate at the pool bar one afternoon. We sat down at 11:58 and the waiter promptly told us they didn’t serve lunch until 12. I said that is only two minutes away, so I think we can wait. Well, the food again wasn’t good and the whole process took 2 hours!! Ridiculous amount of time for chicken nuggets and burgers to be served and eaten. Overall the hotel was run down, uncomfortable and unfriendly. I would look elsewhere. Conversely we stayed at Martinhal Chiado aparthotel while in Lisbon and it was outstanding. Clean, awesome service, comfortable. Wish we would have chosen their Sagres location for the second half of our trip.

Pros: Perfect location and great facilities. Our apartment was clean and comfortable. This was our third stay and it did not disappoint!

I would like to thank Isabella for her friendly behavior (who was in the front desk as well as handling all the situations). They welcomed us with a free drinks . The room has enough space and clean. breakfast was good. Definitely recommendable. Thanks Madhuparna & Goutam

Pros: hotel owners Isabel and antonio excellent lost my passport which they found would have spent the holiday replacing it, breakfast was continental all you could eat and drink, room compact but clean and tidy with maid service every day to make bed change towels. as the hotel is in a residential area could get noisy early evening but would quieten down later, short walk to pingo supermarket with harbour cafes and shops also bus info office very handy weather great
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The friendliness of the management.
8,6 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is owned by a family who also live in the hotel. They are always available to help and offer any services that they can. They first helped us find a place to eat when we arrived late. Then they borrowed us free beach towels ( and offered free umbrellas, chairs, and beach paddles), allowed us to use their printer, and were overall excellent hosts. Breakfast was nice bread, meat, and cheese and was very good (best free breakfast we have received while in Europe). The room was very clean and nice enough condition. I absolutely would stay again.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant place to stay at. Staff is exceptionally kind and informative. We came after the midnight and we are offered with a welcome drink, which is a small but very effective gesture. Hotel is older, but very clean. They clean room and change towels every day. Wi-fi works well. Hotel is placed in the quiet neighborhood, on the walking distance from beach and city center. There is a supermarket near hotel too. If you have moderate expectations, this place will be great for you.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly hosts, good location quite near to the Praia da Rocha and bus stops. They serve nice and cheap breakfast. The rooms are almost fully equipped. The hosts are very helpful and fulfill every wish.
Cons: High stairs without elevator. There is no fridge in the rooms.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Very simple and a very good value. Very quiet!
Cons: A bit old.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: + really nice and helpful host + comfortable bed + breakfast for 2 € (it's simple stuff but you won't even get it cheaper in the supermarket)
Cons: - it was quite loud there so I had troubles falling asleep - the bathroom isn't very appealing
