Pros: Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered. Family friendly. Peaceful.

Cons: Could not have been better. We had the most relaxing time and the staff was attentive to everything. They upgraded our room and boxed up breakfast since we were leaving early.

Pros: Level of comfort, standard of finish, breakfast area, choice of therapies

Pros: Lovely place, well maintained. Staff were generally friendly and made us feel welcomed. Good selection for breakfast. Games facilities good condition and lots to do.

Cons: Unfortunately there were too many insects around the pool area and in the pool which did not make it appealing to use. We were not expecting to find mosquitoes either. Breakfast selection was good however it was not being topped up frequently enough. If you came at 10am for breakfast a lot of the dishes were empty and refilled. Some of the staff at breakfast were not very tentative to the guests. The price for a can of coke at the pool side was 6 euros which we felt was extortionate considering in room bar was at 2 euros. Limited vegetarian options on the menu for dining.

Pros: Amazing location and staff, really look after you in every way. The private beach is class and the the terrace bar and grill is lovely and great views. Breakfast is unbelievable and set in the B&G restaurant with a stunning views as the sun creeps in. My new wife and I were treated so well I couldn't recommend it enough and did not want to leave.

Cons: Just a tad expensive for some things, a 1.5 litre of water is €5.

Cons: The only negative thing about this hotel I can say is the indoor pool area bit cold and not very luxurious looking. Pretty basic and the water bit cold. Warm Jacuzzi would be nice :)

Pros: Amazing view, great food and cocktails, amazing skybar, great location for exploring the caves nearby, quite area and friendly staff.

Cons: We only requested the room to be cleaned once in the 5 nights stayed, put the sign at 9AM and when we returned at 4PM they were just getting started; they didn't clean the floors or change the bed linens. Very noisy rooms, you could hear your next door neighbors. Lots of people were reserving the sunbeds by the pool early morning by placing towels on them and nobody telling them off. Quite uncomfortable pillows.

Pros: This hotel was amazing and I can't find a bad word to say ! The staff are so friendly and polite including house keeping. The hotel is clean and located right by the beach. The seaview room was worth every penny. The hotel has free parking and only a stones throw from the town. The bathroom was so big and spacious and every little thing had been thought of and provided. I'm hoping next time for an upgrade :) see you again SOON !

Cons: Breakfast scores 1/10. Not worth 4 star, omelette is made out of a package and not fresh biologic eggs. Coffee from a cheap machine mixed with added sugars. Bread and pastries were not edible for me. The mattress of the bed is cheap and hard. Like I said this is hotel is not worth 4 star, more like 3 star in accordance with the European standard.

Pros: Hotel by the sea front, with a wonderful balcony. The room was large and comfortable. The bathroom was also great. 65" LCD TV was a good surprise. Champagne in the room because it was part of the honeymoon stay. The restaurant was good not so much because of the quantity but more because of the quality.

Cons: The swimming pool was not so big but who really cares when you have a marvelous beach with clean waters in front of you.

Pros: The small personal touch. We were there for a birthday with family, when we got back in the evening there was a birthday cake waiting on the table. Well equipped clean and well located. Spa very welcome Monica was adorable.

Cons: This is really a genuinely Great Choice Hotel in Portimao. There was no faulting in the stay at all. The rooms are spacious. The grand beds are totally luxurious . The Room maids are so happy and lovely. The reception staff couldn't be more polite and helpful ,they are true professionals. The Bar and waiting staff are very attentive and again know their jobs oh so well. The frozen Margaritas are great . Now the Chef's in the kitchen are brilliant with the large choice of such superb quality goods. It couldn't of been any better and far exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed half board and it turned out to be great value for money. Finally may I commend the Management because it was my true experience getting to know the staff that they are very committed to the highest level of service with a smile on their face at all times. And this is a true reflection of a Happy and we'll balanced Management who care for their staff. And the staff really were genuine and a true reflection of the Portuguese people. Don't just trust my word , go and endulge in the delights that this fine hotel resort is and enjoy the moment . Thanks to all the Top Notch Staff who really make this Hotel stand out amongst the others.

Pros: I booked a shared room and it was excellent value for money, albeit we were way out of season being November. Rooms were big enough with each own on suite. Pool, sauna and jacuzzi was lovely after a full day racing on circuit. There are many little hidden gem restaurants close by but be warned lots will he closed out of season.

Cons: Pretty much nothing negative to say... other than the ridiculous rule of wearing a swim cap in the swimming pool.

Pros: From initial conversation with a question regarding Vale d'Oliveiras Quinta Resort and Spa Eduardo replied straight away Arrived with our family for a one week trip and I must say it was the best place we have ever stayed in Front of house staff were great, along with the curtesy bus into the town when and as needed Each day, we had a lovely breakfast and it was normally during this time the cleaners made up our room with fresh sheets and amazing work - -Well done to all Lovely location, lovely staff, lovely gym (which I should made more use of!!) so thanks again Really enjoyed our week there and will go back 100%

Pros: The hosts are very welcoming and attend to all your needs. They are definitely one of the highlights! The room with the balcony is fabulous - big and spotless room and bathroom! Tea, coffee and water is available in the room. Breakfast is great. 5 mins walk to the beach and restaurants.

Pros: Nice property tucked away on the hill just above town, private parking and very large rooms, some with nice balconies. The staff were very quick to respond to any requests or questions, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We only stayed a night but it felt like a place we would be happy to return to, to enjoy the area and the lovely pool. The breakfast (typical continental) was a great option.

Pros: Great accommodation with a family feel, close to the centre but still very quiet, excellent nights sleep. Spacious room with a balcony and spotlessly clean. Lovely private pool with seating areas to relax. Very friendly helpful staff, check in was easy. The self service breakfast provided was very filling with a good choice of food and set us up for a day walking the coastal path that has stunning views. Would definitely recommend and will be returning there again.

Pros: Perfect place for a relaxed holiday. Facilities looked great, the bed was super comfortable. Nice swimming pool and decent breakfast. The staff were fantastic overall, with a special word of appreciation to Bruno (at reception) for the amazing beach recommendations. We also had dinner there on one of the nights. While the menu did not offer many options, the food was of the highest standard, not to mention the amazing service we had by a gentleman named Jose Santos. I am overall impressed and likely to come back one day.

Cons: By looking at the pictures, I was under the misconception that all rooms would have a balcony. Unfortunately my didn't. The gym facilities need some work done. We had a Romantic package upgrade, which comes with a bottle of wine as well as strawberries and chocolate. Not only was the delivery date wrong(this was fixed), when it did get delivered it had a bunch of other fruits and not enough strawberries.

Pros: Very friendly staff, well organized. Incredibly good restaurant for dinners with a chef’a sampler menu. The suite was great and provided a lot of space. Big, comfortable beds. Very calm location and a bit remote, so you definitely need a car to get around. The spa area is awesome with a jacuzzi and sauna.

Nice wsrm outside pool , great pool bar with delicious snacks . The hotel as a whole was very well maintained , and Just 6€ Uber ride from Carvoeiro with it's ethora of dining options . Pros: The surrounding garden and pool of this hotel are really beautiful. However it is clear that everything is a little outdated and budget for maintenance and repairs seems low. All in all a good place in the Algarve region to get away and relax.

Cons: A little disappointed as I expected more from this accomodation. I booked a suite because this was our honeymoon and I also communicated this to the hotel, however there was no mention of this from the staff and the suite was not worth the money at all. The quality of the cooked breakfast items was really poor (canned mushrooms??) but the pastries were nice. Service at the bar was extremely slow and the person at the checkout seemed to have no clue what he was doing.

Pros: The hotel made for a very central location for our purpose of getting out into the Algarve area. Although we had our own transport! There was a good public transport system in the area. We were very pleased with the staff From reception to restaurant and general staff.

Pros: Location was great. Lovely walks through the marina and beach. No lifts though, so if mobility a problem ask for ground floor. They upgraded for grandparents to have a ground floor which was great. Rooms where clean and house keeping was wonderful everyday.

Cons: Beware of movie Channels as they charge $10E per movie even if you just click into it. Grandfather was not aware and got charged for three unwatched movies.

Pros: The view from our balcony was great, the size of the room exceeded our expectations, the facilities were very modern, the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very complete and varied (our favourite things were the omelette station and the nespresso machine!). We were on our honeymoon and the hotel surprised us with a bottle of sparkling wine and some strawberries with chocolate, which was a lovely gesture.

Pros: The staff were brilliant. We arrived late and the guy treated us with the right mix of being friendly without keeping us up longer than necessary. It set the tone for the week, everyone was great, breakfast was good, and a good spot as it was a little quieter than being nearer portimao main town.

Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and abundant. There are pleasant terraces to sit and read and drink wine in the evenings! It’s only a few minutes walk to some of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen, and there are plenty of local restaurants. Also the tourist hop-on hop-off bus stops close by which is a very useful way to get about the area - this is how I discovered Alvor, which is really worth a visit. It’s a charming, quiet place, perfect for total relaxation.

Cons: Actually the only reason that I've booked the room and in particular this hotel was the "sea view" in the description. I have to say that the hotel is not on the beach, you don't see the ocean from the rooms or the hall. If you want to go to the beach is 10 minutes walking, but the streets you have to do are not so nice.

Pros: This was our 3rd time here, it's very family oriented, safe place for children, with little playground and swimming pool, not too far from beautiful beaches.. selfcatering but cleaning and towels changing every second day... small shop, restaurant inside...

Pros: One of my best tour in europe , is Portimao. The 3 days stay at sao roque, was amazing . I would like to thank Isabella for her friendly behavior (who was in the front desk as well as handling all the situations). The staffs were very friendly and supportive and i came to know some of the best beaches of portimao from them. Benagil tour is also possible from portimao by boat. They welcomed us with a free drinks . The room has enough space and clean. breakfast was good. Definitely recommendable. Thanks Madhuparna & Goutam

Pros: hotel owners Isabel and antonio excellent lost my passport which they found would have spent the holiday replacing it, breakfast was continental all you could eat and drink, room compact but clean and tidy with maid service every day to make bed change towels. as the hotel is in a residential area could get noisy early evening but would quieten down later, short walk to pingo supermarket with harbour cafes and shops also bus info office very handy weather great

Pros: The friendliness of the management.

Pros: This hotel is owned by a family who also live in the hotel. They are always available to help and offer any services that they can. They first helped us find a place to eat when we arrived late. Then they borrowed us free beach towels ( and offered free umbrellas, chairs, and beach paddles), allowed us to use their printer, and were overall excellent hosts. Breakfast was nice bread, meat, and cheese and was very good (best free breakfast we have received while in Europe). The room was very clean and nice enough condition. I absolutely would stay again.

Pros: Very pleasant place to stay at. Staff is exceptionally kind and informative. We came after the midnight and we are offered with a welcome drink, which is a small but very effective gesture. Hotel is older, but very clean. They clean room and change towels every day. Wi-fi works well. Hotel is placed in the quiet neighborhood, on the walking distance from beach and city center. There is a supermarket near hotel too. If you have moderate expectations, this place will be great for you.

Pros: Friendly hosts, good location quite near to the Praia da Rocha and bus stops. They serve nice and cheap breakfast. The rooms are almost fully equipped. The hosts are very helpful and fulfill every wish.

Cons: High stairs without elevator. There is no fridge in the rooms.

Cons: The lights of the swimming pool were not working and spent the weekend without using it at night. The room service was very poor. Whenever we wanted to order something we had to call the reception, then the restaurant, then the bar, etc... For each simple order we had to speak to 3-4 people at a time as they were very unorganized. There was an incident with my non-portuguese girlfriend and the receptionist. During the check-in they asked for my ID as the reservation was made under my name but they didnt ask for the ID of my girlfriend as we were speaking in Portuguese and they assumed she was Portuguese too. Next day my girlfriend called to order dinner at the hotel restaurant and spoke in English. A minute later the receptionist called and basically accused her of being Portuguese and faking that she was a foreigner. The receptionist demanded my girlfriend to hand in her ID to the staff that would bring our dinner because she was not convinced of her nationality and even threatened of kicking her out of the hotel and reporting her to the manager. After this offensive phone conversation, we went straight away to the reception to speak to the manager. Once the receptionist realized that my girlfriend was greek and not Portuguese, she said that the manager was not there and that she assumed that we should both be Portuguese as Portuguese don’t date foreigners (!!!!!). The whole experience was upsetting and her behavior was rude and offensive. Something that we were not expecting to experience especially in the Algarve that lives of tourism.

Pros: The villa was spacious and very modern with a lovely little pool and a hot tub. It was very clean with a nice garden and enough wardrobes for everyone. The common pool area is good however the spa is quite small.

Cons: The receptionist was very unfriendly and unhelpful at check in and the staff in general seemed inconvenienced whenever we asked for something ie. a cup of coffee at breakfast. They had not given us enough towels so we had to walk 10 minutes back to reception to get more as no one picked up the phone. When we tried endlessly to call room service on 2 occasions, we could never get through so ended up having to go to reception to order food. Our villa had 3 bedrooms, however the main bedroom was on the 2nd floor and was completely open at the top of the stairs with no door or wall to make it private. Therefore those sleeping in the main bedroom could hear everything going on downstairs in the rest of the villa, and vise versa. The quality of the room service food, which is a very small menu, was very basic and tasteless. They had run out of pizza bases for 2 days and the pasta bolognese and pasta with tomato sauce were very watery and poor quality.

Pros: Very well located, just in front of the beach; Perfect for some vacations with small children because beach and pool are perfect to entertain them. If this is not enough, there is also a small park for them to play;

Cons: Buildings are a bit old and an overall remake of the apartments would be advised; Even though cooking is possible, if you want to eat out, there are some restaurants nearby but a wider variety would require some sort of transportation;

Cons: The pilow was too soft and unconfortable to me, and I am sure it would be changed in case we complained, but as it was only 1 night stand I didn't. It was quite noisy early in the morning, I believe this is because the bedroom was on the ground floor, facing the main road.

Cons: This aparthotel needs to have a major renovation. It’s at least 25 years overdue. The inside of the room was not only severely dated, it was dirty and uncomfortable. The master bed mattress was so thin and barren that I got poked with springs all night long. The pull out sofa bed with its 3 inch thick mattress my 5-year-old slept on was actually more comfortable. My kids feet were black if they didn’t wear their shoes in the room. There were black hairs behind the bathroom door (we are blondes and brunettes), a giant hairball in the kitchen. There were no toiletries, the washer/dryer barely worked (I had to hang every piece of laundry I washed), no detergent to wash any dishes we used. The walls of the room were paper thin and we could hear road noise and the 11 pm dumpster pick up like it was in the room with us. The WiFi signal was unreliable and weak. The main pool was frigid and the most shallow point as over 5ft deep. My kids are great swimmers, but the pool wasn’t enjoyable because they couldn’t touch anywhere and we were told no floats were allowed. They did have two kiddie pools but they were tiny and only 1.5 ft deep., which weren’t much fun for the 8 and 9 year olds. We had breakfast on site once, and that was enough. The food was not good. We also ate at the pool bar one afternoon. We sat down at 11:58 and the waiter promptly told us they didn’t serve lunch until 12. I said that is only two minutes away, so I think we can wait. Well, the food again wasn’t good and the whole process took 2 hours!! Ridiculous amount of time for chicken nuggets and burgers to be served and eaten. Overall the hotel was run down, uncomfortable and unfriendly. I would look elsewhere. Conversely we stayed at Martinhal Chiado aparthotel while in Lisbon and it was outstanding. Clean, awesome service, comfortable. Wish we would have chosen their Sagres location for the second half of our trip.

Pros: It was clean and well laid out

Cons: The beds were a little uncomfortable

Pros: The hotel still has an old style elegance. The breakfast buffet is great. The rooms each have a Nespresso machine, only remember to bring your preferred capsules as choice is limited. The staff are friendly and attentive. The Championship course still challenges all but the best of golfers.

Cons: Watch out for the wine list, which is not accurate, especially if you are a stickler for a particular vintage.

Pros: Great massages. Great pool. Tranquil and friendly. 4th time here- we love it!

Pros: Nice pool , lovely grounds , nice waiting staff in the dining room ., helpful room service , had to request for a kettle .

Cons: Staff could be abrupt and not very helpful on reception , didn’t really want to help so I didn’t feel that they treated myself and family with any enthusiasm and didn’t take any interest in our vacation .

Pros: We had liked everything! Starting from the kind staff, even if yong, the superior food quality and serving as it should be in a 5 star hotel, ending in the exterior areas extremely well care, and the comfort of the room. There couldn’t be more fantastic than it was. All the people help when necessary, assisted when attended. Weather was also perfect and help to create memorable moments but it wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t the good management and training to the yong staff. Thanks. Looking forward to return.

Cons: Some minor faults from yong staff, however we cannot judge the entire facility because of it.
