Hotel Carvoeiro Plaza

The location was excellent being right in town and across from the beach. Carvoeiro is a lovely town with a great beach.

Poor sound proofing / insulation. Any noises echoed through the floors.

The bedding was so damp that we had to sleep on top of the blanket in our travelling clothes. The bolster type pillow was rock hard. Street noise until the small hours

I was very dissappointed with the cleanliness of the hotel. I booked a twin room and both beds had hairs in them. I requested a different room which was marginally better. I still had to clean out the drawers before putting my clothes in them. Furthermore the cleaner came into my room on two occasions even though I had the do not disturb sign out. She removed some of the towels and did not replace them. Furthermore there was a smell of sewage which wafted through the hotel and around the swimming pool area. While not high in my list of priorities satelite TV was listed as one of the facilities. There were approximately 10 stations available of which only one (CNN) was in english. I requested a radio for the room and was advised none were available.
