10,0 Excellent
Pros: The service was impeccable! This was the best hotel we stayed in through our 9 night stay across Scotland! Sadly, we couldn't get in on our first night there, and were only able to stay one night. Our room was perfect!!!! I can't say enough great things about the room. But the thing that made this hotel truly the best of the best, was the service and individuals who work there. Check in person was friendly and efficient, bar tenders, waiters, and all the staff we came in contact with us, treated us like they knew us, and we were their friends. They were not overly subservient (which is fake), but rather very personable, as if we were friends staying in their home. They engaged in conversation and served with great care and efficiency. The food was fantastic! Both the dinner and the breakfast deserve kudos to the chef. We never felt rushed.... only that we could take our time eating, drinking, relaxing. I would stay here again anytime! And, I will recommend it to others!
Cons: When we opened our curtains in the morning, to enjoy a great view, there was a man standing at the corner of the building right outside our window having a smoke. He quickly left, but perhaps a better place would be around back of the hotel. It would have been nice if there were gardens where we could walk around. But, given the weather, we went out on the trail. Wished a trail map had been at the front desk.

Pros: Staff were so very friendly and welcoming, service top notch, restaurant was fabulous, facilities beautiful and luxurious. 5,7 Okay
Pros: the countryside and nice view from my room.the staff was very helpful and very very polite.
Cons: I was not really impressed with the food. The portion was very small and for the price I was charged I think around £17 I felt a bit ripped off.I have been cooking in restaurants for over 10 year and I know people don`t mind to pay as long the food is good and the portions are reasonable.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great little hotel with very comfortable bed, friendly staff and wonderful food in a fantastic, quiet but central location. Absolutely perfect for my business trip
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very Morden and stylish decorations
Cons: None
6,7 Good
Pros: The breakfast was very good and the location fine.
Cons: We would have liked a bit more colour in the room and either bedside tables or a shelf to put clocks, etc. on without having to jump out of bed to have a look at the time. The shower was a bit of a nuisance in that you got a hairwash whether you liked it or not. Now-a-days we are asked to use soap rather than plastic bottles so even a small bar of soap would be helpful.
7,5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was lovely and restaurant was sold out for dinner! They gave us a nice recommendation for dinner options within walking distance of the hotel.
Cons: An elevator would have been helpful as stairs were narrow.
The Bosville - Portree - Building

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Cottage was super Great place to recharge after wandering around Isle
Cons: Parking is hassle
5,0 Okay
Pros: The bedroom interior was really nice and new. Bathroom and shower were great. Breakfast was good and staff were lovely. Bar had a really nice atmosphere.
Cons: The location of the bedroom (room4) was on the back of the building with absolutely no view not even of a back car park. The window was only a few feet from a back footpath with a wall. The bedroom was so so hot that we both couldnt get a decent amount of sleep. We thoughts the reason was perhaps that the room was above the kitchen. We had no heating on during our stay so couldn't understand why. Tried to open windows but people using the footpath and steps could see into the bedroom. Not sure if we would stay here again unless we had a bedroom on the front of the building.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The food was fantastic , I had the hake For dinner it was excellent
Cons: Limited parking
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the porridge! Excellent non slip shower floor Extremely comfortable bed Lovely staff
Cons: Nothing
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location was great and so was the staff. The beds were comfy and the family room was big enough for 3 adults. The rooms are nice and decor is understated. The breakfast was delicious and the restaurant was quite good. I would definitely stay here again!
Cons: My only complaints are that the shower had only lukewarm water and in cold Skye, a really hot shower would be nice! Also there is no lift. We weren’t bothered by using stairs but others could have difficulty.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel in a lovely place. Bed comfortable and food excellent
Cons: Lack of parking is an issue but unavoidable
Blairdhu House - Portree - Outdoor view
5
8,9 Excellent (66 reviews)
R2 138+
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed and I loved the bathroom and general ambience of the hotel.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location, friendliness, cleanliness, breakfast!!
7,1 Good
Pros: Room was clean comfortab;e breakfast was good
Cons: Disappointed Three points Accuracy of information 1. Information I booked on was room with "view" - photos of property show views over Skye - other rooms probably do have views and the breakfast room did however the family room we booked did not- the view for me is not of a car park and if you were able to see the photographed view you would need to hang out the window and twist to the right which was not possible as the window had limited opening This room should NOT be advertised as with view. 2. The room overlooked the car park for guests with clear vision in for everyone and this limited privacy as the blind needed to be lowered in order to ensure this during the day and night. 3. Non availability of credit card facilities at this property should be identified as part of the on line booking - rather than notification by the property post the booking - travellers do no always have data access on the road or cash.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing breakfast! A lovely room very clean and bed extremely comfortable. The view towards the loch was fab a great location for travelling around Skye and mainland. Friendly hosts.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful, just a tad expensive (but everywhere else was WAY worse price wise).
7,9 Good
Pros: The view is lovely and the bed was very comfortable
Cons: There was a problem with the ceiling fan in our room and being unable to use it made it very hot and uncomfortable on the hottest day of the year so far.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean facilities, wonderful views over breakfast, breakfast was delicious. A great place to stay on the way up to do the North 500, while giving the chance of exploring Skye at the same time (which is just stunning!)
Cons: Everything was as expected, everything you need for a short stay.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely situation and view from room
4,6 Okay
Pros: Location is great. Nearby the citycenter.
Cons: Rooms are very small. Our window felt out in the middle of the night! We're awake at 4.15. The rooms where very noisy. The six of us didn't sleep well. Never again.

9,2 Excellent
Pros: Stunning views from tiny bedroom window with a bench beneath, breakfast room and hotel forecourt. Good standard breakfast. Attentive staff. Well heated room, cosy, well laid out, compact (we stayed in Flora McDonald's cottage loft extension, rather than the hotel building) - standing hight in the middle about 190cm, sloping ceiling both sides. Cosy bar with excellent service.
Cons: Personally, I would have preferred standard shower cubicle where one would be able to stand. Provided was a sit down bath with shower. Satellite TV with unacceptably poor reception on half of channels. Lounge mixing rustic and luxury furniture.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Beautiful location, good food.
Cons: Zero facilities, expensive menu, limited menu, average room for a very expensive price.
7,0 Good
Pros: The setting and reception staff
Cons: Mold in my tub, size of room, the food was acceptable but not at all at the level i expected for their going rate I would not stay there again
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location! Had an excellent dinner, if somewhat expensive. Good breakfast and very friendly staff.
Cons: Not a lot.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great property!! Very nice food.
Cons: Service could have been a bit quicker.

7,9 Good
Pros: The location is very good, right in the heart of Portree. There is no breakfast at the property but plenty of places to eat nearby. The Isles Inn in the center of Portree is a great place to eat.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Ruth, the owner of this clean comfortable guest room property is a gas. Sweet woman that works hard to make sure that your stay at her place is the best it can be. She is extremely helpful and welcoming. When you walk out the door you are in the center of Portree in the Isle of Sky. She made arrangements for breakfast at a local hotel and it all worked out fine. A nice place to stay and relax.
Cons: The description and pictures are a bit dated but still a cute place. The owner operator and location makes up for any short comings if your staying for a day or so. There is no parking at the guest room property. BUT it is not a problem because you can drop your luggage in front and there is plenty of street parking 1/4 of a block from the guest rooms. Not an issue.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Ruth is a nice and kind host. The guestrooms are in the centre of Portree, with all it’s facilities nearby! A supermarket is just around the corner.
Cons: The bed was a bit small, but that’s about it, we really enjoyed our stay!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The owner Ruth was so sweet and hospitable! She worked with us last minute and was very accommodating. We will definitely recommend Braeside to friends and family who travel to Portree! The rooms were fantastic as well. So charming and warm.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Position was excellent, close to town centre and all facilities. The room was comfortable and Ruth was a great host. Good heating.
Cons: Steep stairs to room.
6,3 Good
Pros: It was in a good location
Cons: Hard to get parking, bathroom had mould which my travelling companion reacted to so we had to leave a day early
10,0 Excellent
Pros: nice and friendly owner. quiet and central location. excellent cleaning. breakfast was not included but the owner of the house left us a basic breakfast on the room table. great experience
Cons: to stay just one night
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Just simply a warm and cozy lodging in the heart of Portree
Cons: The shower was a little small for a larger individual
The Royal Hotel - Portree - Building

7,4 Good (839 reviews)
R2 639+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at The Royal Hotel in Portree, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Portree Harbour and Somerled Square. Free self parking is available onsite.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Nice view from our room, great location.
Cons: Tiny bathroom. Way too expensive.
6,2 Good
Pros: Great location
Cons: Very outdated hotel, no elevator/lift
5,8 Okay
Pros: Location is good.
Cons: On booking should be advised about the need to book restaurants prior to arrival if you intend to eat not only at the hotel but elsewhere in town. Location is good being in the town centre facing the harbour but this does of course bring the inevitable parking problem. Sadly the hotel has moved well past its prime .. it’s simply tired and this is reflected everywhere. The rooms themselves are very tired and in desperate need of refurbishment. The staff are friendly and helpful. However the general atmosphere of the rooms and the hotel in general is one of being worn out; if only the room looked as fresh as the ones on the web page.
7,0 Good
Cons: Stairs are a bit of a problem. Restaurant quality indifferent.
6,3 Good
Pros: The view from our room was a total delight. Buy beers and chips (crisps) from the supermarket and enjoy. Breakfast staff were friendly and very welcoming.
Cons: Housekeeping knocked at the door at 9am (checkout is 10:30am). Came back (via a knock and key) at 10am; and then a house-keeping bloke came in (via key) at 10:35am. I had been sick and was a little slow getting my gear together. Very uncomfortable experience.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Location, clean, friendly staff
5,4 Okay
Pros: Convenient location.
Cons: The rooms didn’t look like the ones in their photos so it was disappointing given the price. The pillows were hard, foam ones that made sleeping difficult. I asked if they had any other pillows and they said no. The staff ranged from helpful to acting like we were bothering them if we asked a question. Had to park around the corner in a lot with a chain and combination lock that took some fiddling every time we came and went. Surely they could come up with a better system.
Dunollie Hotel - Portree - Building
10
6,5 Good (1 540 reviews)
R1 474+
Overview Reviews
The Dunollie Hotel is set by the serene waterside of Broadford Bay, at the foot of the mountains that lead to the famous Cuillin Hills. With 84 en suite bedrooms, a bar and restaurant, it is perfectly placed to explore an area rich in history.
3,3 Mediocre
Pros: The accomodation was so poor and as people were being asked to basically queue for breakfast we decided not to eat there.
Cons: The room, although a single, was exceptionally small and in much need of a refurbish stains on the walls , pater peeling from the ceiling, ingrained dirt around the door frame, cracked tiles in the bathroom, mould around the window in the bathroom and little to support under the sink other than lino.
6,3 Good
Pros: The view from the restaurant, and the lady at check-in was very friendly
Cons: We could hear every conversation in the corridor through the paper thin door. We could also hear every footstep through the ceiling. As a bus was in, there was a lot of noise especially early in the morning. The dinner and breakfast were only adequate and we felt we were being rushed due to the bus passengers at dinner.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Location was great. Enjoyed the view from the seaside of the hotel
Cons: Room smelled musty and damp (from en-suite), the bedding and curtains were tired and dated and small details, like missing lampshade etc made it feel worn down and unpleasant. Pictures were quite deceiving
5,4 Okay
Pros: The local
Cons: The room
5,4 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Shower was useless. Would have been better standing out in the rain. Breakfast was poor and room basic. Value for money? Not even close
7,5 Good
Pros: Decent location and very helpful staff!
Cons: Breakfast didn't have much on offer for vegetarians
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, always make you feel welcome. Clean comfortable room, good food...top notch!
Cons: Nothing
8,3 Excellent
Pros: We booked an one night stay at Dunollie Hotel and both requests were met in full. Our room overlooked the small harbour. The room was large, well appointed and beds were firm, but comfortable. We ate dinner in the dining room overlooking the harbour and also decided to have breakfast before leaving. Food quality very good with good service from staff.
Cons: Nothing.
