2,9 Mediocre
Pros: Night receptionist! Check out!!!
Cons: Everywhere sign! Breakage curtein 150€ etc... Bathroom- mold everywhere, ceiling in bedroom- mold. Mattresses very soft! No windows- No view (small windows behind the curtains) First impresion when we arrived- terrible. Owner not even say Hallo!! First her word was 2€- city fee!!! One friend cancel trip but owner counted him- so we must to pay city fee. She doesn't care. Breakfast: 1 old/dry croissant per person. Now we know why we were there alone!!! If you want to have nice memories from Pompeii, choose another hotel. Better pay more, like this kind of standart 3 star Hotel Pompeii Ruins
7,1 Good
Pros: Location afterall was great.
Cons: We were double billed and haven't received credit on our card yet! The hotel was good value for the price. The staff didn't really help in giving good directions to the Pompeii archilogical site. It turns out it is a 10 minute walk, not a 15 minute drive and a 24€ parking fee.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Pompei in Scafati, you'll be 3.1 mi (4.9 km) from Pompeii Archaeological Park and 3.1 mi (5 km) from PalaMangano. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, limo/town car service, and a 24-hour front desk. A train station pick-up service is provided at no charge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very clean, with very welcoming staff who are keen to help. The pool is fantastic and great relief from the heat in July. Our family room with two single beds for the children and a double for my wife and I was ideal. The beds were extremely comfortable and we all slept very well. Breakfasts are tasty continental choices and the cappuccino is very good. We loved visiting Pompeii Archeological Park and would recommend it to all our friends. We took the train from Scafati to Pompeii and walked up to the Church first then along to the gate of the park closest to the Anphitheatre. Well worth the trip. We ate nearby at both the Clements Beer House (excellent Pizza) and along the road at Anticho Sapori Scafati where the steaks were amazing.
Cons: Travelling by train from Naples meant that we had to walk through the heat of the day for our trips out. Knowing this, a hire car would have made our stay more comfortable and relaxing. The streets of Scafati are known to be dirty and littered and the hotel have asked the council to tidy the streets more often. We stayed as part of a longer adventure in Italy and it served the purpose of visiting Pompeii and Naples well.
7,9 Good
Pros: Staff was very friendly The room was very clean Nice swimming pool
Cons: Design could be updated
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are lovely and a good size. The bathroom and shower were good. The air conditioning worked well. The pool area is lovely. The bar is good value for money - 1 litre of wine for €5.
Cons: The location wasn’t great. We knew we would be staying in Scafati which is the next town over from Pompeii. We got the impression from their page on booking.com that there was a bus route outside the hotel to take us to Pompeii however upon check in we were told that we must get the train. This is about 15mins away from the hotel. Everything else was fine though.
10,0 Excellent

9,0 Excellent
Pros: Great people, great place.
Cons: Quite cold in the room during night.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: My family and I had an excellent stay at Villa Julia. We missed our original flight and ran into a traffic accident but they made sure we checked in when we finally got there around 1am. We woke up to a beautiful garden view with Mount Vesuvius in the background. Then, we had a great breakfast prepared for us with hot tea, cappuccinos, and freshly squeezed orange juice. They made everything very relaxed and even let us take some lemons/oranges with us on the road. Only 5-8 minutes away from Pompeii Ruins entrance. Would stay here again and highly recommend!!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic service. Best value for money in the area.
Cons: It rained and I couldn’t visit Villa Julia’s gardens which are apparently lovely.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The staff and their hospitality, the peacefull environment, cleanness of the facilities. Best choice for sure!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The stay at Hotel Villa Julia met, or to be fair, exceeded my expectations. Simple, but more than adequately appointed - the hotel is an ideal place to drop anchor for a few days for those visiting Pompeii and the surroundings. At this point I must make a special mention of the manager, Pasquale - whatever little deficiencies the property itself has, Pasquale more than makes up for it (special thanks to him from myself). For example, although Villa Julia is located 2 km from the Villa dei Misteri train station, a simple phone call to Pasquale and he would come and pick you up, rendering the question of the distance moot. When I wanted to visit the Pompeii ruins he was more than willing to drop me off and pick me up when I was done, entirely at my convenience. Even after I had checked out he was more than willing to drop me off either at the bus or train station when I was ready (as it happened it was the bus station since I wanted to hike up the Vesuvius). And what struck even more was that on the first morning of my visit, having had a rather tiring journey I woke at nearly mid-day, thinking I had missed my breakfast - before I could even say anything Pasquale laid a special brunch on for me. Its things like this that turned what promised to be an adequate hotel stay to a perfect one! I cannot recommend Hotel Villa Julia highly enough - it is a perfect 10 from me!
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Great location and views with a fantastic breakfast terrace
Cons: Bed was very hard!

3,3 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing good about this place
Cons: Far from City Center. Dirt road to get there. Room very small. No internet. No food from outside allowed. Their food not good at all. Do not believe the pictures. If you want to use pool after 6pm the charge $10 Euros per person. Very bad experience. Their advertising is not true
2,9 Mediocre
Cons: False marketing. Pool is not included in the price, costs 15€ per person. It’s really far from everything in Pompei.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Ths pool area was good with snack bar and rooms were clean.
Cons: Breakfast was very sparse and after having to ask for milk for cereal it was off. When you flushed the toilet in the room there was an awful drain smell which you could also smell occasionaly beside the pool area. The hotel is too far to walk back and forth from the town centre which meant we ended up having to pay for taxis.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were so helpful and couldn't do more for us! The room and areas were immaculate and had everything we needed, but would recommend you have a car to stay here, due to the location. Other than that, was a lovely stay!
Cons: Nothing
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Staff were fantastic and spoke good English The hydropool was so relaxing The hotel was very clean There was an empty fridge for us to use in the room.
3,3 Mediocre
Pros: Very little
Cons: Staff were rude. They had no cot and although I had booked a room for 2 adult and 2 children the room wasn’t even big enough to put our suitcases in let alone the children when I tried to speak to the staff about it they said they would be able to fit a cot in no worries. Then at 9pm when the cot had still not arrived they informed me that they don’t have any cots at the property and left and answered they’re own mobile phone. We travel a lot and this is most appalling hotel I’ve stayed in. Also pool was dirty and steam room broken
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The Staff were really friendly and helpful. We had a Jacuzzi in are room, and was nice bonus at the end of the day. Also to get in pool was a joy after a long walk
Cons: Did not have a working safe, was offered to put items, behind reception, but didn't want to keep going to reception every time. Not a very good selection for breakfast.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Clean Lovely Italian marble and tiles everywhere!
Cons: Weird location..okay if you're driving.

6,0 Good
Pros: The location was great very close to Pompei ruins, easy to get elsewhere by train and bus. Breakfast was good if you have a sweet tooth even better
Cons: Unfortunately rubbish was collected early morning when we stayed so could be noisy its not the owners fault and they do provide ear plugs so not the end of the world for us
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Sal was a wonderful host, we arrived in the midst of a terrible storm at the wrong station. He came to pick us up and bring us to his beautiful B&B. Breakfast was wonderful. Tour information was very helpful. The beds were so comfortable, everything was excellent.
Cons: It was far too short a time, I would love to stay a week next time.
7,1 Good
Pros: The staff was cheerful and informative. The location was close to the ruins. The breakfast was ok. The staff made fresh coffee.
Cons: The room smelled like cigarette smoke everywhere. After staying there two nights, my clothes smelled like cigarette.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Salvatore is a splendid host. He was there for our agreed arrival and is super helpful with local things to do and how to get there. Great local breakfast served.
Cons: The shower is tiny but with groovy shower head. Bed very firm.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful and friendly manager who explained about a variety of things to see and places to eat. The room was comfortable. Great location, easy walking distance to the Pompei ruins which was what we were there to see. A cute little supermarket right opposite the apartment.
Cons: The room had an odour of cigarettes which we think was coming through the air vents. Also, busy traffic outside made it a bit noisy.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The place provides good value for money for a stay in Pompei, the room is equipped with everything you need for a short stay, also you can use a small kitchen on the same floor.
Cons: It was a bit cold in the bathroom, as there’s no central heating in this place (only air con with heating mode)

4,0 Okay
Pros: One of the staff (an older man) was very friendly and helpful
Cons: No AC Restaurant not open. No breakfast offered.
7,0 Good
Pros: Walking distance to Pompeii historical site, 5 minutes walking (few restaurants/café with nice gelato), the other entrance only 1 minute walk - literally outside the hotel. We can even see the site from our room balcony which was nice. Nice view too during sunrise/sunset. Souvenirs shops at the door step of the hotel. Best part "the free parking" right outside of the hotel - superb!!!!!!! - it's like you are parking in your own home. The hotel has it's own special features & my kids really appreciate it's uniqueness though the structure is a bit old, but well kept/clean. The bathroom is huge. Having tea/coffee facility is a plus. Pure thick delicious hot chocolate was nice.
Cons: Very limited choice for breakfast. Juices were nice though. A variety of fruits would help. Taking like forever to get our boiled eggs. Some of the cutlery not really well cleaned. The room's phone did not work. We had two rooms & difficult to communicate as the phones didn't worked, plus the wifi was not stable, too slow & unstable - need to re-connect regularly.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: We were in Pompeii for the ruins and this hotel‘s location is great for the purpose. The entrance marina inferiorere is just right next door. The hotel staff are helpful and attentive.
Cons: N/a
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has a great location to explore Pompeii, as one of the entrances is just around the corner. Staff was attentive. Breakfast was fine. The premises are not new, so the spaces are great. Very quiet in the evenings.
Cons: Bathrooms, though usable, could benefit from a renovation. Parking space, though available, is limited.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is near the archeological site. Close to the hotel is a big supermarket. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. A great hotel when you want to visit Pompeii Scavi.
Cons: At the front of the hotel on the street are many souvenir sales people yelling if you want to buy stuff wich is quite anoying.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, bright breakfast room and breakfast. So close to the archaeological site.
Cons: Restaurant closed and faulty door in the bathroom.
7,0 Good
Pros: The hotel was extremely close to the ruins which was really nice and offered free parking. We were able to walk to the ruins and around the small city.
Cons: The room was okay, and parking was a little sketchy. There was not a lot of room to park and the fridge in the room didn't work at all.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location for the excavations at Pompeii and for the Circumvesuviana railway. Inside of hotel very quiet (perhaps because there seemed to be hardly any guests there.) Main receptionist very courteous.
Cons: I liked the hotel but have to agree with a reviewer who said the room shook when a heavy lorry drove by. Also, the water was, at best, warm, not hot- the night receptionist’s suggestion that I should run the water for longer did not resolve the issue.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: Great relaxed environment for the children- they loved the animals and play area and pool ( even though it was pretty cold being late in the season). The on-site restaurant was very handy and the food was not bad at all - little bit limited menu.
Cons: Room was adequate- a little dated - clean and tidied each day. We loved the little farm, kept the children busy and happy but cockerels and a braying donkey may not be your thing.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Cristina was very helpful and friendly as was the maid( didn't know her name). Nothing was too much trouble all I needed to do was ask. I was made aware that the rooms were not totally wheelchair user friendly but it wasn't clear enough that the were several steps to get in until we arrived, late at night, luckily they had a ramp which was movable and we managed to access our room by moving the ramp as and when it was needed,God only knows what would have happened otherwise.
Cons: The fact that I wasn't able to park my car in the main area close to where the rooms are situated
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely quiet space and easy access to public transport to Pompeii and Erculaneum.
Cons: Lack of local artisan beers and products, such as ice cream since they are an agritututistica venture.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: The rooms are in need for a good refurbishment and maintenance. specially bathrooms.
6,7 Good
Pros: The facility had a lot to offer. It was a very cool set up. Although somethings were outdated, most was nice. The breakfast was good. Although the room was nice, the location could’ve been better served by having some type of asphalt out front. It was butted up to a farm, so when we walked up to the front door there was likely animal feces that was dragged in with the luggage or shoes.
Cons: The check-in experience was not great. We got there after a long trip from America, a nightmare getting out of the Leonardo da Vinci airport, and then a drive to Pompei. The neighborhood was a little bit shady. Once we pulled in there and checked in, there was no one to take our baggage. There was a long walk across the hall grounds to bring our baggage through a farm with animal feces around. The checkout experience unfortunately was even worse. The woman that was running the front desk was very rude. I had to go to offsite parking to get my car and she had to open the gate, she forgot about me so I was standing out there for a while, then had to come back and ask her to open the gate again.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, restaurant, people
Cons: Nothing

Cons: The equipment at the room could be a bit updated at some point (very retro wall hairdryer, maybe the blankets etc.) But nothing that would not work.

Pros: The owner Antonio was very helpful and really wanted us to enjoy our stay, the accommodation was comfortable and clean the continental breakfast fresh and plentiful. The train station was a 5 minute walk away with direct access to Sorrento and Naples costing less than 5 euro return. Pompeii ruins are a short walk away, we had a very comfortable enjoyable stay.

Pros: Balcony and view from it was awesome.
Cons: I do not like when I book a BnB and breakfast is extra. This is the second BnB in Italy that did this. It is not a BnB if breakfast is not included.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: This was a last minute booking, and what a find! As per the other reviews the beds are the BEST! We had a great nights sleep. The hotel is close to one of the entrances of Pompeii. Our tour left from a further entrance. The room was quite and a little oasis from the hectic hawkers on the street outside. Breakfast was simple - we were the only people there!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I loved this hotel. Friendly staff, beautiful rooms and location, clean. Great breakfast and excellent service
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel which was about 200 metres from the entrance to the Pompeii Ruins. Rooms recently refurbished.
Cons: The weather was very mild and despite the heating being off the room was very hot despite the window being open. This is a minor complaint.
7,1 Good
Pros: I liked the decoration, the actual hotel was very nice. The garden spaces were really good too, nice and stylish. Was in a very good area, for food and tourist attractions.
Cons: I didn’t like the building work that was occurring without any notice at all, on the site. Genuinely wouldn’t have stayed if we knew it was occurring. Starting from 8:30am till 5pm, whenever we came back to rest it was horrendously loud, and the mornings were horrific. Not impressed, staff didn’t apologise or even offer discount, which blows my mind.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The property was fantastic. The staff is beyond super fantastic
Cons: Mothing
10,0 Excellent

Pros: The location was great - easy to get to most things including the Pompei ruins and within walking distance to the train station.
