Pompeii Ruins Hotel

The staff were really nice and helpful. I feel very sorry that they work for such horrible people.

Management, especially their daughter, were exceptionaly rude. These people should NOT be in the hospitality business. No pleasantries/acknowledgements whatsoever throughout our 3 night stay, not even a single 'buongiorno' let alone a nice welcome. Our room was dirty, the shower disgusting, no tea/coffee facilities in the room, very little natural light coming into the room, it felt like you were in a cell! The bed was VERY uncomfortable, you were constantly rolling into the middle due to the springs being broken and the cheap thin mattress. There was no hairdryer but there were lots of notices warning of the fines imposed if you damage the curtains €200 or the €150 fine for losing or not leaving your key when you went out. There is NO lounge for residents and breakfast is ONE croissant, ONE packet of small toast, ONE pat of butter, ONE portion of jam and ONE coffee, if you want more you have to pay. It was nice to see a twin cereal dispenser even if it was just for show. Thank goodness McDonald's was only a few minutes walk away. Again lots and lots of do's/don't signs everywhere but no tour/attraction guides or area maps. I would not stay here again even if you paid me and my tip to the owners is RETIRE!!

Good location - close to ruins but difficult to find

No windows and was told ‘no one has windows here’ which seemed odd but because price was so low, didn’t bother arguing. Interactions could have been more pleasant - felt like was disrupting the receptionist on arrival and waiter in the breakfast restaurant seemed incredibly unhappy to be working there. Wouldn’t return or recommend unless you’re just staying one night to see the ruins.

Free and safe parking

Ants in the room (!) (In the yard there are a lot of them, but somehow they manage to come into the room as well); poor water drenage in the bath (room 17); bad wi-fi connection in the room and close to it: generally speaking this accomodation offers good value for money for 1-2 day stay, and property is nice, however, even for short one-day stay you need min comfort and, definetly, sleeping with ants in the bed is unpleasant extrim
