The restaurant buffet offers a lot of variety. Even though the cooking is on a large scale the food is still tasty. The "standard" room at Tropical was lovely - very big with a lot of storage space, quality furniture and a comfy bed. They clean every morning and stack up your fridge with beverages. The entire staff is very kind and helpful making you feel at ease all of the time. We were impressed by the cleaness of the facilities - it's a huge resort and it's good to know that they are constantly taking care of it, otherwise things would quickly start to go south. If you're looking for a few days of complete relaxation, just enjoying yourself by the sea and beach then Barcelo is the place to go.
The biggest and more or less only downside was that you need to pay 20$ for the wifi per day.

Variety of food was awesome and so were the juices. We especially liked the restaurants. Service was great and lots of smiles. Very clean.
Would like less oil used for cooking. Would like colder milk.

It also hosts the Barcy Water Park for kids for free and the Pirates Island Water Park for additional fees.
There are a range of sports facilities at the hotel such as a fitness center, professional soccer field, basketball courts, two tennis courts with free equipment, a new 18-hole mini-golf course, volleyball, darts, pool tables, and giant chess. There are also several non-motorized water sports activities.

The entry is free and there are free house drinks included until 2 a.m. The teens night club serves non-alcoholic beverages and wrist bands are required for entry.
