Pros: Beautiful property with historical grandeur. Extremely comfortable room. Bathroom was dated, but exquisitely so. Competent personable staff that wasn’t intrusive or slithery as I’ve encountered elsewhere in the region. Unfortunately my stay was short and busy and I did not have time to enjoy all the facilities but this hotel has authentic classic style as opposed to the newer boutique hotels with superficial ‘bling’.

Pros: Amazing staff...sincere, friendly, engaging and helpful. Couldn't have asked for better people.
Cons: It IS an old hotel, after all...so bathrooms were a little old fashioned, the water pressure wasn't great, etc. etc. The hotel has been modernized, but it's still a very, very old hotel--keep that in mind before you book.

Pros: excellent service with a smile
Cons:
7,1 Good
Pros: A classic hotel from 1920's in the centre of Phnom Penh.
Cons: We had a drink in the Elephant Bar of the hotel during our first evening. At first view the service was excellent. However, the pleasure was of short duration when we saw how horribly a group of African gentlemen (customers exactly like us) were treated in the table next to ours - and this by two different waitresses. No smiles, haughty attitude... the exact opposite to how we were treated. This left a very bad taste indeed, and for the rest of our stay we did not visit any of the restaurants or bars of the hotel.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very smiley, helpful staff. Lovely building, very central. Wonderful breakfast buffet, every taste catered for. Good bar and restaurant.
Cons: Can’t think of anything!

Pros: Super comfy beds, air conditioning worked perfectly, pool is well maintained
Cons: Nothing, if there was minus points its to the backpacker these days, all on their phone and not interacting with each other. Whats the point of staying in a hostel then. Food was also good but a bit on the pricey side.
7,5 Good
Pros: Beds were comfortable and the rooms provided big lockers. The pool seemed nice. The smoothie bowl at the restaurant tasted good.
Cons: Breakfast is not included, but they have an amazing smoothie bowl. The staff was quite rude and uninterested. They couldn't even tell us the final stop of the bus to Bangkok.

Pros: The hostel was great, nice pool and outside area where I made some great friends. Beds were comfy and aircon kept the room nice and cool. Food was decent, beer was cheap and free unlimited water refills which was great! Staff behind the bar were always smiling
Cons: Staff behind reception need to learn from the bar staff.... everything seemed to be an effort for the reception staff - this was the only real letdown at this property
8,0 Excellent
Pros: It’s a nice hostel, comfortable bed , and really nice atmosphere In the pool and restaurant area. Good food. Well located
Cons: The staff is not nice, and not even helpful
6,7 Good
Pros: Swimming pool was nice. Music at the bar.
Cons: Staff was not really supportive. When we booked a bus to Kampot at 7:45 they told us right after the moment we paid that we have to be an hour(!) before at the lobby to wait for the bus. Also, we forgot a swimming costume in the dorm. We called and asked if it was possible to give it to someone that booked a bus to Kampot the next day. We were told that they don’t do such things and that we have to have a phone number of someone that was going to Kampot. We did not know anyone going there. So basically it means we have to go back and get it ourselves..
4,6 Okay
Pros: Pool area was socialable and bar food cheap
Cons: We felt the private doubles were overpriced for what they were - the rooms are in need of a revamp / repaint and don’t look as nice as the photos. Also dark as they have privacy screening on the windows. I think this place must’ve been a more upmarket place when Lonely Planet reviewed it, and hasn’t been maintained very well since.

Pros: I must admit it was a mistake. I wanted to book for the other Frangipani (the one on a quieter street) but ended up booking Frangipani Royal Palace. I don’t regret it although I did miss the quiet street. The staff were very polite and helpful. My room, a single one, was fine. I could see a tiny bit of the river from my window. The hotel had mucked up one of our airport pick ups so they were very apologetic and made up for it by doing a free airport drop for us. That was a really kind gesture.

Pros: Location is very good, but the grounds just open to the street.

Cons: Extremely bad front desk. Rude reception. Hotel is at best 3 star.
Traffic at rush hours.
Not a back packer hotel but feels like one.

Pros: The staff were all fabulous...very friendly, helpful, courteous. The breakfast was good. Our first night we had dinner in the roof-top restaurant and the food was excellent, the view gorgeous!
Cons: One day the water was off for a number of hours. Fortunately, we were out on tour most of the time. For most showers the water was only lukewarm or cool.

Pros: The location was perfect. I could walk easily to all the main sites and tour meeting spots. My room looked onto the Royal Palace and was very quiet. Loved the rooftop bar/restaurant. Very friendly staff. Airport pick up was very easy.
Cons: Quite limited menu for a vegetarian. The fridge turned off when I left the room.

Pros: Great location, very friendly staff, extensive breakfast buffet and views from both the restaurant and pool. Comfy bed and good water pressure. At the right price I would still come back to stay here.
Cons: No hot water in the shower (sometimes almost lukewarm). When we asked at reception they told ud they had solar water heater (great) and that we just had to let the water run from the tap and shower for 5 or maybe 10 minutes before washing, then it would warm up (not so great). The bathroom was on the small side with the door opening into (hitting) the toilet. Poorly lit too. Very low showerhead. At the full price I think it is not great value for money.

Cons: This seemed like a popular hotel for tour groups. So the lobby and entrance was always very busy. As if that was not enough the coffee shop was booked by some company (or school) for what seemed like a students’ test. So it wasn’t possible to meet any colleague at the lobby for a discussion.

Pros: Spacious room, good breakfast choices
Cons: Old hotel in need of a bit of tlc
