Bathroom could have been better. Room smelt of stale cooking :(
The staff were helpful and attentive; my room, although extremely dated, was clean and the bed was comfortable. The place had what can only be described as ' character'. I will never stay there again ... but I will never forget it.
The decor was extremely dated, although the room was actually clean and efficiently and regularly serviced. The toiletries in the shower room had been previously enjoyed by a former guest. The most negative factor was the alarming Saniflo mechanism in the toilet/ shower room, along with its own special warning notice. This periodically emitted a smell of drains, and churned noisily on flushing or running water, resulting in overflow/effluent coming out of the shower. I stayed over Halloween, and the decor internally reflected this enthusiastically. This (to me) was also somewhat alarming, as my attempt to ring the doorbell on arrival at the skeleton-adorned front door, resulted in a seriously startling interaction with the skull doorbell ( it did not however actually summon mine host, who I had to phone). The breakfast was served promptly, the obligatory fry -up perhaps not of the highest quality I have ever experienced. Yet, overall, this was a budget location in one of the very best parts of Oxford, and I received helpful attention from my hosts when I required different pillows. This characterful - indeed, unforgettable - venue may find itself economically challenged in the near future by the new Easyhotel which is mushrooming up right next door to it as I write.
In my opinion I think the bathroom shower could have been slightly bigger
Good location in front of a bus stop, several shops in the vicinity. The room was small but just about fine for a family of 3. Small but decent bathroom. Breakfast was very good. Overall, positive experience.
The room was clean but could have been cleaner. The bathroom was a bit worn, the light of the mirror did not work, the hot water in the faucet did not work.
B'fast location was good, set up well, nice decor, excellent variety of food and friendly, helpful staff.
Our room was a bit crowded but we made it work. There were several places that could have used some touching up, these were visual distractions that did not interfere with our function or comfort, just a bit messy in appearance.
