The staff was so friendly and efficient. They went the extra mile when they heard our USB port was glitchy to make things right. Honestly, I've President's Circle with Hertz but they treated me like that or better even though I almost never use them. I'm impressed.

The best location at the ORD car rental center - on the same floor as the airport train station. I rented a Volvo (my other choice of a premium car was a BMW) - first time ever at a rental car agency. That's my favorite part of rental cars - testing out cars. I wouldn't buy a Volvo given the short cabin compartment and now I know that. Great team. Enterprise prioritizes personal care and you may think Hertz or Budget is quicker but it's great to have someone explain the tollpass system and walk you to your car.

Stood in line for over an hour waiting to get a car because they did not have enough! Car smelt like cigarettes badly. I paid 250 $ for a really small car where with Alamo/National we paid 700 for a ford escape for 8 days. Only positive is it got me to where I was going.

No washer fluid in dead of winter storms. Rattle in front wheel. Choppy check in service but needed in a pinch so beggars can't be choosers. Very expensive one way trip when train cancelled.

The drop off in Madison was super easy and took little to no time. We did however have to spend almost an hour in line at Chicago just to pick up. All information was entered online so the wait was frustrating. We were inline so long four unrelated customers started brain storming how the process could be improved. Lol I am not sure that is something they should be bonding over.

It is more what I did not like. The vehicle, a Jeep SUV, had no interior lights that worked when you opened the doors. But worse of all the tail lights did not work at night! That was dangerous and shows a lack of maintenance care by Payless. I was not happy.

Payless had a very smooth process with kind and friendly people, the car was very clean and in great condition. When I returned it, however, the person who marked the car as returned did not check whether I had filled the car up with gas (I had filled the car up with gas) and charged me for not doing it. The customer service team has been very helpful in getting that false charge removed. Would recommend Payless

Everything was very confusing at pickup and drop off. The cars are collocated with Avis and Budget but the people and information are not. No instructions in my booking email, and poor signage at the O’Hare car rental facility meant that my wife and I wasted precious time wandering around searching for answers.

The pickup experience was poor – it seemed like my counterperson had somewhere else to be; there was visible damage to the back right body panel on my rental car (it had been marked with a series of X’s); upon returning the car they mis-charged me $77 for the fuel option – which I had not signed up for – even though it stated on the same bill that it had been returned full (8/8).

I have no complaints. The staff at the desk was friendly enough, there were three cars left in the zone/class that I had booked, and I picked one. The car was clean enough and nice enough, although with 40K+ miles it felt a bit... used. Still, a good car (Nissan Kicks), and perhaps a tad bigger than the class I had booked (compact), so I'm pretty happy with the car and the process.

The only positive things I can say about Fox car rental is one, the person who checked me in was friendly and courteous, number two, the person who checked me in upon my return was friendly and courteous. Their customer service took 45 minutes to answer the phone and the representative was discourteous and condescending. They did a bait and switch with the type of vehicle that I had requested. The vehicle smelled of cigarette smoke, the windshield on the interior was not cleaned. I had to buy a bottle of for breeze and Windex and paper towels to make the car suitable for my trip. I would never ever rent from this company.

Cons:

They could be honest with their customer, they could train their customer service representatives to be more customer service oriented. And they should give the customer the type of vehicle that they had requested. It goes back I guess to the old saying, You get what you pay for.

Only girl at window was sullen, uninterested in her job, and abrupt. I was the only customer at that late hour. She charged me $150.00 deposit on top of the rental charge. I have not yet been reimbursed and don’t know to whom I should demand my deposit back.

Seems the whole organization procedures and staff need complete change.

Additional charges that I did not agree to were applied at collection. When I realised and tried to get help to correct the errors by phone, email and in person I was repeatedly lied to by different employees. My Dollar experience has been fradulent behaviour from their collection staff compounded by appalling customer service.

The counter agent was very rude. We waited for 45 minutes in the line. When we finally got to him, he told us we would have to wait 45 to 90 minutes until our car would be ready unless we upgrade by paying additional $18/day. After he rang the charges , it showed $19/ day. It gets worse. After driving for two hours, the car had engine light. We called the emergency roadside service, I was put on hold for 30 minutes. Next day, the car condition got worse, we drove back to the airport to change the car because the car had trouble starting. When we returned to the airport, the counter agent was at the return center. He was rude. He did not apologize.

The only sort of tricky thing was the distance and number of turns to get to sixt. It's probably better than a shuttlebus. At ORD, you go down to baggage claim, up to ground transport, down to the tram, ride to the rental car stop (2 or 3 stops), down to the floor, outside, up to sixt. Totally understandable and doable, there are signs all along the way. Outside of that, everything was great. I booked everything ahead online and it went as smooth as one could hope.

SIXT car rental company has a hidden restriction on which states one is allowed to travel to. If you travel to states outside of their list, the car is reported stolen and automatically shuts down.

Staff at counter were friendly. It's impossible to get ahold of anyone at customer service if there is an issue with something. They do not have a working phone number so only way to get ahold of them is to email the company. It's been over a week and after multiple emails still have not been answered.

First I think is very bad that if you as a company charge for the extra driver,you should say it,is first time for me with this situation with a car rental,that being said I paid the extra driver and the person who I spoke told me the final charges that I would have,and for my surprise I have more charges in my card, I ended up paying 300 dollars more than the 500 dollars of the original charge,I received a late fee,I don't even know why,if I deliver the car at the rigth time,and I only wanted to pay for the daily tools, wich on top on everything I end up paying a tool in Chicago because the car didn't pass,I'm very disappointed and I don't think I'll use fox rental anymore.

The car was fine. The agent at the counter sold me a $25 fee to cover all tolls . I told her I was going to South Bend, IN today (Thursday) and returning Sunday. She said I was covered both ways. When I got to the Skyway, it didn't work. I was still in Illinois. The gate only opened when I used my credit card. The next toll booth, same thing happened. I also paid on the Indiana Toll Road at the South Bend exit. Refund my $25.

The staff was happy to see and serve me. Good customer service.

Cons:

Even though I called ahead, there were no full-sized trucks on the lot when I arrived. They had to get one from some auxiliary lot and drive it in for me. The truck they grabbed had not been properly cleaned - filthy steering wheels and side windows so dirty that I could not see the side mirrors. National made up for this by giving me a free day of rent (refund), and a deep apology from the management. So I will try them again next time.

Way too much confusion trying to locate a car in the class I had reserved (luxury). 5 different people asked if we needed help (we did) but none delivered. After much delay, we got a car that was just cleaned and we’re on our way. Not a very good showing.
