The food was excellent and was extremely an example of fine dining.
A total lack of atmosphere at dinner. Whilst we understand it's a quietish time of year there was a distinct lack of staff, and I didn't appreciate not being able to get a decent glass of wine in the bar at about five-thirty (I asked for a good Chardonnay and was offered Pinot Awful!) During the very expensive degoustier menu, there was total silence, like being in a church, not conducive to a relaxed and enjoyable meal, I hate eating at a whisper. When one is staying for one night at a total of £300 plus, we were disappointed by the lack of customer care that I would expect to put one at one's ease.
We enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, the beautiful location, and the comfortable rooms
Food was excellent but we could not do justice to the menu each night . Would have welcomed a lighter option some evenings
Very pleasant location, quiet, very clean, friendly staff.
The food was excellent but the set menu deterred us from eating there for more than one night. The meal was delicious but the full menu was too much (food) for us and at £42.50 per head we did not feel inclined to skip some courses. We would have liked to have been able to order a light meal on some evenings.
Excellent Hotel, attentive staff and exceptional food and we enjoyed our visit thank you
A wonderful old style country hotel, decorated to a good standard but leaving many of the orginal features in tact. Lovely new swimming pool complex.
A rather limited menu selection
as above
restricted price range in restaurant
Godd food and beautiful surroundings
Staff friendliness.
Compulsary to eat in the hotel restaurant for one night over the weekend - albeit a very good restaurant.
Very peaceful and relaxing hotel
Delightful country hotel within easy reach of ludlow. The Degustation menu for dinner was superb and staff always attentive to us. Will definitely stay here again
One or two very minor snags in the room which some people might get upset about - but then some people get upset about anything, and I feel it's all part of staying in an old building. Nothing to detract from the enjoyment of the stay
