We wanted to stay within Historic Downtown LA and the Biltmore really suited the experience , the building is beautiful , the rooms very nice , however we had to be up-graded as the room provided was not as booked through booking.com , also the reception added daily deposits and facility fees that were not explained on booking.com which then ties up funds on our Travel Credit-Card which was disappointing , however the Hotel is beautiful and most of the staff where great and the location , restaurant and bar was niece , no breakfast was included.
The experience at reception with added fees , the Hotel staff stated that these charges are standard in LA Downtown , this is not true as we stayed at 2 other Hotels in Downtown and 3 different Hotel Casinos in Las Vegas all in this same holiday period and had no similar fees charged.
Like staying in a palace. Wonderful style from the era of Hollywood. Room quiet and comfortable and the staff were very welcoming and helpful.
I can’t think of a thing.
The hotel itself is beautiful. The location was also great being close to public transport made it very easy to get around and explore the city
The hotel is beautiful, full of history and amazing architecture. The rooms and fitness center are in need of renovation. The room’s air conditioning never got the room below 72 degrees. The bathroom door would not completely shut. The fitness center’s strength training equipment appeared to be 20+ years old.
$50 per night for parking seems steep even for LA. This hotel charged me $5 just to receive mail. When I checked out, I was given a invoice for my stay which they charged to my credit card and one day later, charged my credit card again because they forgot to charge me for one night of stay. This seemed unprofessionally disorganized to me.
The location and the look of the hotel
The rooms and bathrooms were old and out dated and smelt musky and like old cigarettes. My room hadn’t been cleaned properly because there was dirt still on the old carpets. The bed was comfy but the pillows weren’t. They were so soft and felt like it needed more padding. The bathroom is way too small. We weren’t large people and found it squishy and no space to put your toiletries.
