Pros:It looked like a wonderful hotel on line, but since there are travel restrictions from the US to the UK, we wouldn't know for certain.
Cons:I'm sure the hotel is great, however, since we were unable to go due to travel restrictions, I feel like the contract between us and Kayak/get a room, should be considered Force Majeure. In good faith we entered into a contract, however Kayak/get a room continues to hold onto their no refund policy during a pandemic, and as such, refusing to refund our money. We will travel to the UK when we are able to, but will never use Kayak, get a room, or stay at this beautiful hotel.

Pros:The hotel is right across from King's Cross train and tube station, so it was a 20-30 minute or less tube ride to all of the sights. Buses were right outside too. The front desk was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. There are places closeby to eat, even late at night (5 guys is across the road along with some Indian restaurants). There was a huge variety in the guests staying there, from middle aged couples, so seniors to young families. It seemed like I was the only solo traveler there at that time.
Cons:There was a dank smell in my room that I couldn't get rid of. I don't recommend it for folks with mobility problems because there are steps everywhere. It it on a busy street so if you need silence to sleep this isn't the place. I live in New York City so it didn't bother me, but I could see how it may bother others.

Pros:New bathroom was nice. I sorted the rain shower out as it was spraying everywhere, but with a quick wipe of the nozzles, perfection. Shouldn't be the guest's job though should it?!
Cons:No electricity at night. Now this may have been due to a power cut, which I don't blame the hotel for, but I walked through the darkness past two people at reception who didn't even tell me - oh, by the way, the electrics are out. Would have thought it was a common courtesy. Also, the noise from upstairs was like a marching band, and could hear the talking and general noise from room across hallway, so soundproofing non-existent. It is also over the tube lines, so can hear them tumbling every few minutes.
