I was on a work trip so didn't have time to go for breakfast! Was told I would be credited and I'm still waiting.. the room service chap the morning after was very rude.

Pros: The Clayton Hotel is only a 10 minute walk from the centre of town but it is still very conveniently located for the train station; it is particularly close to the buses that take supporters out to Elland Road, hence the popularity with Leeds fans. Our room was very clean and cosy, with decent facilities. The bar and restaurant are also pretty good. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful - it's a Yorkshire thing, I'm convinced.

Cons: This is the first hotel I've been in that didn't offer tea/coffee facilities in the room which was quite unexpected. Disappointed couldn't have a quick reviving cuppa after a hard days shopping.

Cons: It was the 'Leeds Lights' night (we weren't aware of this beforehand) and were asked to keep our curtains closed the entire night, the hotel front was used as one of the light shows and the noise was deafening! It went on til 11pm at night. (We were in Leeds for a hospital appointment and up from 5am). We received no apology and weren't offered an alternative room. Love this hotel but I was very unimpressed about the whole thing.

Cons: I rang to get directions to the carpark but unfortunately the receptionist gave confusing advice and I ended up in the wrong carpark. Leisure facilities are off site and an extra charge.

Cons: The breakfast we ordered to our room was horrendous the food was over cooked and dry, no sauces or jams were offered as accompaniments and the Tea was cold, this was a shame because we pre booked breakfast for the entire stay and even when we went down the stairs the breakfast was lacking. The check in staff that dealt with myself did not interested in the slightest and made a mistake with the other rooms I had booked, We had to contact them twice and have 1 room chance before it was rectified. Also for the amount of money i spent on the rooms i would have appreciated a heads up that the road works out side the window, I would have paid more to stay another place to have been able to enjoy a sleep in on Monday.

Lovely decor in bathroom but shower not so good, bits missing from the controls, seal coming off on the door. Wooden furniture looked dated rather than antique. Carpet wasn’t hoovered properly so bits on the floor around the bed. Ironing board a bit flimsy. One of the plug sockets dodgy. NO TEA BAGS!!

Cons: The room I was given initially was smelly . The smell was similar to dampness or like someone has cleaned the surfaces with damp smelly cloth . There was a spider web on ceiling near the window. Probaly room was not cleansed for some time. The room iwas connected to other room . The room might not be in use in recent days and was not ventilated . On complain staff offered a change of room which i accepted . The new room was cleaner . The smell of dampness was very very minimal , only noticeable to senstive nose

Cons: Spa facilities are awful. Like stepping back in time and smelly so does not feel clean. No fresh milk available in room and when requested told to go to bar. No biscuits or little treats with a cup of tea in room. Lovely reception area on level 3 then dark corridors and bedrooms. Ground floor where spa access is located was overrun with people waiting for buses outside Ok for business users but not recommended for leisure

Cons: The only slight negative (and I mean very slight) was only having one pillow each in the room. And as it was late when we got into bed and we had had a long day. Neither of us could be bothered to ask for a second pillow. There should be some in the room already.

Cons: Whilst the room wasn’t dirty, there was plenty of wear and tear around. Scuff marks on the walls, paint splatters on the curtains etc and the second flush on the toilet not working. None of these are deal-breakers, but this lack of attention let the otherwise nice room down.

Cons: Cleanliness left some to be desired. Webs by the window and in the bathroom. The window did not seal making it drafty, as well as a noisy (airplanes and could hear people behind the building as if the window were open. The tub looked as if had not been cleaned recently. Not filthy dirty, but short of "sparkling" clean.
