Pros: Beautiful property on the outskirts of Avignon. Comfortable rooms with all the facilities we needed and friendly staff. Loved it and would love to go back another time.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It is a superb hotel with such a great staff working there! We’ve never met such friendly and good staff in the hotels before. They welcome you as good friends, always ready to help you with any queries. The location is very nice and quiet. Avignon city center is 20-30 minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel itself is an old historical building, very charming, and lovely-decorated. The rooms are very special and beautiful. There is a lovely terrace in the garden, and a beautiful rooftop terrace for chilling out. There are pastries, coffee, and tea available for guests in a lounge zone. There are also a plenty of books, travel guides, and magazines to read. If you need a parking space, don’t forget to reserve it when you make a hotel booking. The price is 9 euro per day. The parking lot is 200 meters away from the hotel, but you can unload and leave all the bags and stuff at the hotel. There are a lot of nice restaurants and bars nearby. We went to the organic restaurant naturabsolu, which is just around the corner and we can highly recommend it. The owner and food are great there! It is a great place to stay in while making daily trips to Provence villages and sightseeings.
Cons: It would be nice to have a safe in the rooms.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: There were lots of nice rooms at this hotel .our room 24 was very tight with a step down in the middle o the room that was dangerous if going to the toilet at night
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was absolutely delicious, the room was charming, the shower terrific and the bed super comfortable!!! The lady on reception could not have been better. She was so helpful and kind. Extremely accommodating with breakfast as we had an early train to catch. Would definitely recommend this hotel
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Staff were wonderful. The terrace and grounds were beautiful.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, very clean and well maintained. The room was nice and big (family room) and the roof terrace was a great spot to chill out and read a book. There was free tea and snacks in reception each afternoon, which was a nice touch. The staff were extremely helpful. I would definitely stay here again. Location is also great - only about a 20-30 min walk to the main part of Avignon, but the area itself is very nice with some good wine bars and restaurants to choose from. Having gone into the main part of Avignon, I would prefer to stay where the hotel is located anyway.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: This small boutique hotel is located in the heart of Avignon right behind the papal palace. There is no parking but the good side to that is that there pretty much are no cars on the street either... The place is nice and comfortable and the hosts are very friendly and helpful. I was traveling alone with my children and they constantly made sure that we had everything we needed. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay in the city.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were really welcoming and gave us some good recommendations of what to see whilst we were in Avignon and where was good to eat.. Property was in a good location down a quiet street and was really lovely inside. Peaceful terrace areas inside to relax in. We enjoyed the breakfast there.
Cons: Low ceilings in places so watch out for your head if you're tall.

Pros: Our favorite accommodations in our 2 week trip in France - just wished we had stayed more than one night. The hosts were so generous with their time in helping us navigate Avignon. Also the hotel was more like a retreat in that there were outside\inside living areas to relax after a day of sightseeing. There was a delicious full cooked breakfast as well.
Cons: Nothing! It was perfect!!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed everything about our stay. Veronique was the perfect hostess. She welcomed us into her home with an offer of a drink and thorough guidance for visiting the city. The breakfast was fresh from the market with cheeses, yogurt, cereals, fruits, breads, eggs, etc. It's amazing how comfortable she has made this 500+ year old house.
Cons: I would have liked more time to stay here in Avignon!

Pros: Glad we found this little gem..Having stayed in Avignon previously we decided to venture a little further this time and so happy we did. The hotel is in a great location, with bus service into Avignon if you wish. We preferred to walk.Could not fault the hotel in anyway. We were looking for a quiet break which was badly needed and the hotel and location did not let us down. Garden and pool were perfect in the hot sun. Hosts were kind and helpful and we will definitely be back next year... and this is our place to stay. Just loved every minute and wish we had stayed longer...

Pros: Great location with lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. Pool area and garden was very relaxing and private. We caught a bus into Avignon which was much easier than finding a car park. The bus stop is only 5 minutes away and bus journey 10 minutes.
Cons: Breakfast was a little overpriced
9,6 Excellent
Pros: We decided to stop off here for a night instead of stay in Avignon and so pleased we did. The interior decor is incredible - very quirky and individual. Staff lovely and everything run very efficiently with a personal touch. We went to a lovely restaurant for dinner in the village (also lovely), which was superb, recommended by Steve. Definitely give it a go!
Cons: The entrance to the car park was a little difficult to find and the pool still a little chilly even though ‘heated’ but that is really trying hard to find something to say in this box!

La Mirande - Avignon - Building
6
9,1 Excellent (311 reviews)
R6 767+
Overview Reviews
Staying at La Mirande is a journey back through centuries of exquisite French decorative art. La Mirande is a living historical monument in a romantic setting, a quiet cobbled square shared with the famous Popes Palace. Carefully restored to their original splendor all guestrooms have authentic period interiors with boiserie and chintz wall coverings and invisible state of the art technology. Lavishly decorated reception rooms are laid out around a delightful wicker-spiffed courtyard conservatory. The oldest and largest of them, a magnificent renaissance state room serves as the main restaurant, awarded with a Michelin star in 2019, with a terrace and a blissful garden for open air dining in the summer. Downstairs is the authentic 19th century kitchen, which offers table dhte dining and is also the venue for popular year long cooking classes.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff here were so kind, attentive, warm and welcoming! Extremely refreshing as I made my booking last minute to escape another awful hotel in town. I'm so happy to have discovered this gem of a property and look forward to going back!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was a bit confusing in terms of corresponding to the level of the hotel. Wish it were a notch better.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very good location, the hotel and the room design brings you to 18-19th century. Room make up both in the morning and in the evening.
7,9 Good
Pros: The staff and the location
Cons: It is almost impossible getting their by car. Missed some things on the room like a coffee makee
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very old, but unlike many old hotels, everything was in perfect working condition, like it I was meant to be. Even the water pressure in the wc was strong. Although the hotel has greenery and it was hot summer days and plenty of bugs become active during this time of year, there wasnt a single bug inside the room.
Cons: No enough signs on the road to lead to the hotel and a little investment in signs would have done the job.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Couldn't have a better location. The absolute best in Avignon. Had a beautiful dinner in their gorgeous city garden. Also, their wall paper was very inspirational for future renovations to our own home!
Cons: Little tricky to reach by car, but the staff was most helpful and friendly to get us there. Free valet parking.
7,5 Good
Pros: Very good location.
Cons: Dont worry about paying for the view of the Popes palace - you’ll be staring at a stone wall. Rooms smallish and shower adequate at best. You will haemorrhage €€ for anything extra - like breakfast, parking, drink at the bar. If you want to have dinner here book ahead.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location is outstanding; staff could not be more helpful or respectful. Beautiful room, excellent dinner and breakfast.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Thé hôtel décoration staff food propreté
Cons: The way to arrive to the hotel
10,0 Excellent

9,0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel with a perfect location to restaurants and attractions.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: This was one of the best accommodation experiences we’ve had in our many travels. Staff super friendly and the breakfast was amazing. The hotel manager took such pride in what she was presenting. Jams, breads, cheeses and pastries all from the local area and she explained everything so nicely. Great location and price. Much more than we expected from a 2 star hotel. We would stay here again and again.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location very friendly staff great breakfast
Cons: Corridors could do with a bit of TLC
9,6 Excellent
Pros: good central location unpretentious
Cons: room a bit small but ok for short stay
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was comfortable and designed with a modern eye, and I appreciated the TV and air conditioning. The hotel's location in the center of Avignon couldn't be beat. It's within a 5-10 minute walk of the Palais de Papes, Les Halles d'Avignon, and anything you could need during your stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. In particular, Jose helped me with planning my day out in Avignon with recommendations for restaurants and attractions.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel right in the middle of Avignon, situated right at the beginning of the pedestrian zone leading up to the Palais des Papes on a quite busy shopping street. Staff is incredibly friendly, I felt immediately welcome and "at home" for the time of my stay. Even though I was hesitant to believe previous reviews, breakfast really is just perfect, a buffet of everything you'd wish for. You should definitely go for it if you plan to stay there! It's offered in a cozy breakfast room, and staff there is also very attentive and helpful. My room was to the back of the hotel, so likely somewhat less noisy than the front-facing ones. Facilities were good, and cleanliness was impeccable. I also enjoyed a lot all the little details they put in place when preparing the room (e.g. artful folding of the towels, nicely arranging the curtains). Wifi was also good, even though speed quite varied across the day. One thing I learned when checking in was that there's a small (unadvertised) rooftop terrace, which you can use 24/7. It only comes with two chairs and a table, but has gorgeous views over Avignon up to the Palais des Papes. Sunrise is a great time to check it out! Overall, I'd highly recommend staying at this hotel!
Cons: It were only minor things that could get improved. While the view from my room was nice over trees and onto a nice building on the opposite side, there was some ventilation machinery below my window, which made a buzzing noise 24/7 -- which might not appeal to everyone. Also, the room isn't overly spacious (which was fine for me, though). Some parts of the room seem to have fallen in disrepair lately: the toilet paper holder was broken (and half of it was still hanging on the wall), the lid of the water boiler was broken, and the closet door was missing entirely.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location; friendly front staff, good shower
Cons: Limited counter space in bath and main room. Internet was below par - kept going out. Walls were thin - could hear coffeemaker, TV, shower, talking in next room.

9,2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were incredibly helpful
7,9 Good
Pros: Very nicely located, close to the pope's palace/city center. Stefan is an amazing host - I was sick during my time of stay and he was very helpful.
Cons: There was some construction happening down the road and even with all windows closed, one could hear the noise all through the day. Also, the bath didn't have hot water at all times. And the wifi in the room almost never caught the signal. All this could have been fixed maybe, but I was too sick to bring it up to Stefan's notice.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic staff that went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. They are very knowledgeable about what to experience in Avignon & France. Superb fresh breakfast. The hotel is centrally located in a quiet area. Outstanding value for money.

Pros: This is a relatively expensive hotel but worth every eurocent . It really does deserve its official five star rating. Staff are extremely helpful. The gardens are very beautiful and the quiet and shade of the outdoor terraces crept into our hearts and made us happy. Our room was comfortable and immaculately clean. There was no lift but staff were quick to carry our bags up and down the stairs. We had dinner in the hotel and it was excellent in terms of content , choice and value in terms of the restaurant's Michelin star status. The location was somewhat distant from Avignon town centre but this was not a problem as a 12 euro taxi ride took us there
Cons: Standard breakfast was expensive but we chose the express breakfast which was a continental breakfast and was priced similarly to cafes nearby. Not a problem for us.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Incredible place in an incredible location!
7,9 Good
Pros: Reception staff lovely. Room lovely.
Cons: Not enough waiting staff for a five star hotel. No bar area or bartender so was hard to find someone to get a drink. No one around the pool to get a drink. Had to walk to reception. Arrived mid afternoon and could not even get a snack to eat. Had to walk into village which was lovely but just wanted to relax around the pool after a long drive. No drinks menu through the day to choose what you’d like to drink. The restaurant in the evening was so suppose to be one Michelin star. Not sure if the chef was on holiday but the food was not great. Mine was fine but my husbands fillet of beef was a chewy bad cut of meat with no flavour. I noticed the people at the next table sent their beef back. Not the standards of a Michelin star. Breakfast ok. The hotel setting looks like a five star but the service and facilities are lacking.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location and staff were extremely good
Cons: The air conditioning in our room was a little noisy
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place in a wonderful location. Be warned - dinner and breakfast super pricey - we eat out in the town - lost of lovely places to choose from.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I read various write ups about the hotel before I booked and they were right the hotel is exceptional. The rooms, food, staff and location great. We wished we were stopping for another night. Villneave les Avignon is a lovely historical village to look around with quite a few restaurants and bars. More relaxing then the bustling Avignon.
7,5 Good
Pros: Lovely bed chamber, pool and eating on terrace.
Cons: Nothing -everything was lovely
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location of the property is lovely. Right outside the old city but easy to get to the centre via taxi. The property is gorgeous and the rooms are perfection. We were overly looking the pool and gorgeous gardens. Breakfast was wonderful sitting outside in the courtyard. really ideal for a romantic get away.
Cons: Did not realize that Breakfast was not included in the booking. not a major problem but our friends thought it should have been.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent and it was a small hotel which felt homey . Our room was fantastic - much larger than we anticipated which was a nice surprise. Tiffany who worked at the front desk was exceptional - right from our booking stage to when we actually met her at the hotel. She was very helpful, went out of her way to assist and was just lovely! A true asset to the hotel .
Cons: The continental breakfast was definitely overpriced £27 pp for what was provided.
7,7 Good
Pros: We liked the room, pool and grounds of the hotel. The area was wonderful for walking and sightseeing. The staff was very helpful and responsive to our needs.
Cons: We felt that the dinner was very overpriced and was more presentation then delicious. I requested a green salad but was told that I could not vary from the menu. For such a lovely hotel I would expect that a green salad would not be too much to ask.
6,3 Good
Pros: food and service
Cons: troppo vicino alle rotaie del treno
8,0 Excellent
Cons: Liked eveerything
7,7 Good
Pros: Beautiful grounds and gardens. Hotel is in a quaint, small town within an easy 5 min. drive of Avignon and has much more charm than Avignon. We booked the least expensive room and were given a lovely room with garden view which was quite large.

Overview Reviews
Hotel Le Magnan is a small boutique hotel located in the heart of the ramparts of the historic city of Avignon, which honors Provencal lifestyle and friendliness. Push the door ... We offer you 30 fully equipped conditioned rooms, most with views of the garden, a lovely patio where you can enjoy a moment of relaxation after a day of sightseeing or business or enjoy a little there lunch on sunny days. Our concern is the quality of the stay that you will spend in Avignon. From the hotel, you can stroll along the canal in the picturesque "rue des teinturiers" (street of dyers) and following the streets of old Avignon, you'll reach on foot the Papal Palace.

Pros: Very nice, clean Hotel right in the cntre of town. Highly recommend it.
Cons: The room is relatively small, but unless you are spending large amounts of time in the Hotel that is not an issue.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Great central location. The room was clean and a good size. Water, tea, coffee and biscuits were supplied every day - excellent service. I would recommend this hotel and look forward to staying there in the future.
6,7 Good
Pros: The hotel is located right in the Place de L’Horloge, centre of the old town. Palais des Papes is just 2min walk, lots of shops, cafes, restaurants within walking distance. The hotel itself is old, the room is smaller than the pictures in booking.com... but clean and comfortable enough. Front desk staff was good, and knowledgeable about the places to visit in the Provence region.
Cons: Wifi was almost non existent, speed was slow and difficult to connect to. Cant go out late as they lock the door past 11pm, but you can call someone to let you in.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: great location nearby several good restaurants. Clean and comfortable beds. Parking is a bit tricky in general is okay.
Cons: entrance hall and lift is quite small. rush hour could be difficult to get out/in.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location cannot be beat. The main reason to visit Avignon is to be in the old town and this is in the center of everything. The room was clean with it's own bathroom.
Cons: Since the hotel is in the old town, parking was confusing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, good service
6,7 Good
Pros: We liked the location. The people at the front desk were pleasant
Cons: The air conditioning didn’t work. It was so hot in our room- 2 nights without air conditioning and we were offered 10 euros off our bill
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, Location, Location! Size of the room. Big windows with thick panes of glass to block out sound from square below. Staff were really helpful, especially the young woman working the morning front desk. She helped get us a great discount on our parking.
Cons: Memory foam pillows. Furnishings were a bit tired.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: It’s right beside the Palace of the Popes. The room is not large but enough for two people. Friendly staff. Hotel doesn’t have its own parking place, but provides 20% discount for the Palace public parking (so don’t drive directly to the hotel).
Cons: Would be nice if, after the booking is confirmed, there is a message to remind the parking place.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The bathroom and bedroom were very clean. The desk staff were all very helpful and made us a dinner reservation for our second night.
Cons: There was an odor which we finally determined came from the drains in the bathroom. We closed them at night and opened the windows..but they should fix that!
5,0 Okay
Pros: City center too touristy
Cons: Small rooms, tiny hotel could hear everything in the AM

Pros: Lovely converted farmhouse. Staff were very nice. Food in the restaurant is excellent.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Food was delicious - one night the restaurant was booked so the staff recommended a great place on the river in Avignon. The hotel is in a very quiet location that is a pretty easy drive into town - there is a free parking lot with shuttle service to/from the city that the staff suggested for us. Great accommodations and service!
Cons: No elevators, so you have to carry your luggage up multiple flights of stairs. The hotel is somewhat hidden as well; be careful or you'll miss it!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location but more directional sighs needed when you go off road 1/2 mile along a track by the river
Cons: Everything rustic french
7,5 Good
Pros: Air conditioning available Good breakfast Close to public parking to then access the old Avignon city
Cons: Too far to walk into Avignon Not recommended to walk as the road is too narrow with vehicle traffic
7,9 Good
Pros: The hotel is about 5 kilometers outside Avignon, it has a good secure car park and a really good restaurant.
Cons: Not a don't like, but for other travellers there doesn't seem to a lift and all the rooms are on the 1st and 2nd floor.
7,9 Good
Pros: This a a great location for seeing Avignon and surrounding area. Our room was small but perfectly formed. The restaurant meal in the evening was superb. An excellent breakfast too.
8,8 Excellent

9,2 Excellent
Pros: staff very helpful and nice. room was very French. The food was beautiful and well presented. atmosphere was great and the old buildings great
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good, sadly too windy to be eaten outside on this occasion.
Cons: No adverse comment
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Restaurant serves VERY GOOD food and portions are generous. Far from Avignon city centre on foot, in the middle of orchards, hence quiet. And cosy. Complimentary towels at reception for the swimming pool.

Pros: Location is perfect The rest is under the average of this type of price/room
Cons: The rest is under the average of this type of price/room
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Good location nice staff very helpful
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel situated in quiet street. Near River and restaurants. Calm atmosphere in hotel and the receptionist was very efficient.
Cons: Noisy air conditioing 20 minute walk to main railway station....but you can't have everything.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was like a Monty Python sketch from the Town Woman's Guild re-enactment of the battle of Agincourt. The lady with bright red hair banged every plate, cup and cutlery against each other and the surroundings in her efforts to clean-up immediately after each guest left their table. More funny than annoying - breakfast theatre actually. Otherwise, hotel is in a great location in the old city and the facilities well fit the price and decor. Would stay there again.
Cons: A shower curtain would have kept water from the floor but a minor issue - really all good.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: A nice location in the center of town (as long as you don't have a car). Easy walking distance to anything in Avignon. A helpful staff.
Cons: Charming but without some of the modern amenities of newer hotels.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Nice historic building with nice stairs. Provide 20% discount for 2 parkings in Avignon.
Cons: Smell in the bathroom
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Room is clean and reception people are always smiling and friendly.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: In the heart of the center of the city, Wow! -- super close to the Avignon Palais des Papes, a gazzilion good cafés and restaurants, and the Halles market (not to be missed, Tu-Sa). Every "place" (small town square) around is distinct and beautiful in its own way. A special location.
Cons: Two things could have been better: the in-room air-conditioning was obnoxious (clicking on - off all night) and then finding the hotel and close-by parking at Les Halles is TRICKY. Don't follow the Apple iPhone map (Siri); needs updating (one-ways going in the opposite direction of reality). We finally did better by downloading Google maps. Driving in the city is hard too -- people tend to walk down the middle of the narrow lanes. Good luck in anything larger than a Mini Cooper. Still, the location makes up for these frustrations.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: great location, walk distance from good restaurantes e most of the city atractions
Cons: Hard to arrive by car to drop the luggage since the streets of Avignon are pretty small and there were some closed passages on the way to the hotel. We left the car a paid parking (had a 20% discount). Do not recomend go by car if staying in Avignon Centre
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location in medieval town , brilliant decor and ambiance. Staff were fantastic and very friendly.

Cons: Slow running shower drain in our room

Cons: small size of room

Pros: The location was very good, in the old part of Avignon with lots of interesting sights just a short walk away. It is also very near to the Avignon Centre train station ( not the TGV) and this was a bonus. Its about a 5 minute walk. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and allowed us to leave our bags after checkout whilst we went sightseeing.

Pros: Breakfast excellent. Great location
Cons: Tiny room for a single. No hot water 2 nd morning although an alternative room for shower was suggested but too inconvenient to move toiletries, etc. hotel provided a 15% discount. shower stall barely able to move in.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Large tv and large bathroom
Cons: Small room for the bed
8,0 Excellent
Pros: If you like to be in the thick of it, this is the place for you. This hotel is only steps from all of the major touristic sites in town. Restaurants are all over this area, so you won’t go hungry. It is well run, It is well priced, clean and the staff is very helpful.
Cons: Although there is nothing that they can do about it, the size of the lobby is way too small for the size of the hotel. It is often completely congested, with luggage piled up against the walls. There can be a long wait for the small elevator to take you up to the rooms. The rooms themselves are adequate, up-to-date and clean, Although the decoration is somewhat dreary. Why use solid brown carpeting and accent wall paint, in a room that is small?
5,7 Okay
Pros: Close to major sights. On main town square. Ready access to cafes.
Cons: Too much road noise at night and in am. Mattress needed replacing badly.
9,1 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff
Cons: Tiny room, tiny bathroom

7,5 Good
Pros: Location fab
Cons: Didn't receive a confirmation of the price.
7,0 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Too much furniture in room. Reception always busy and crowded. For the money I would probably pick the Mercure diagonally opposite. Same square but probably better value.
6,3 Good
Pros: The position was great
Cons: The hotel was not well kept, the smell was not great, not a great attention to detail and the moquette was dirty
7,9 Good
Pros: Location was perfect. Hotel was typical with a small room but adequate.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, 10 minutes from the station and minutes away from the sights. Good breakfast, decent size of the room, comfortable bed
Cons: Noise from the outside at 6am when litter collectors arrive
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Eggs were extra cheesy but the AC was not working most the time. we loved the place and location but did I say no AC. Very old cool place so the HVAC is old but not cool. Maybe it will be working wwhen you get there.
Cons: Not Cool in the Hotel, temperature that is. Mid September 94 degrees outside

10,0 Excellent
Pros: We got to the property very late at night but the reception people spoke perfect English and had is in our room in a matter of minutes. Very friendly and professional staff. Room was perfectly clean and modern. The A/C was super cold and felt so good after a hot day in Avignon. Unforgettably the pool was closed since we arrived so late and left so early.
Cons: The breakfast was expensive so we choose to stop at a bakery near the hotel. Everything else was really good. No issues.
7,1 Good
Pros: Close to station, clean and comfortable room good breakfast
Cons: No bar
8,8 Excellent
Pros: nice clean rooms, quite location, bus stop to Avinion next to hotel
Cons: breakfast is expansive @ 16E I expected more for the price payed for this hotel: could have given more in tea/coffee/sugar for stay (was enough only for 1 drink per day) no shampoo / conditioner
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Pool and garden area Close to highway Cleaning staff Bed Bathroom
Cons: Although easily accessible to highway, area itself is unattractive and beside a crematorium. No problem though and safe. Property itself is beautiful.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Our room was lovely, bed very comfortable, enough space for a family of four. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly.
Cons: The restaurant has very limited menu for children. We were advised smaller portions of the main menu are prepared for children. Unfortunately the gourmet dishes were not well received by our children.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: The grounds and pool are fantastic and the helpfulness of the staff.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: Pool area
Cons: Carpet
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed, lovely walk-in shower, good choice at breakfast, wonderful evening meals, good size outdoor pool and lovely areas to relax in beautiful gardens. Staff very friendly and no problem parking at all. Once we got to grips with Avignon’s complicated road system, hotel is excellent location if you intend travelling round places to the south and east of Avignon. Definitely need a car here - the local bus is frequent and just round the corner but a mile walk into the main square when you get off at Gare Centre bus stop.
Cons: Rooms were smaller than they looked in the photos.

Cons: Wifi signal is pretty weak in the rooms, to have reliable internet connection it is better to stick to public areas of the property.
7,5 Good
Pros: Dinner outside in the garden was nice.
Cons: Room was okay but could use a bit of freshing up.
6,7 Good
Pros: The back patio and garden was very nice for breakfast. The staff was good. The pool was well maintained.
Cons: The bathroom was nice and had been updated. However the sleeping accomodations did not live up to the bathroom. The decor in the room was unappealing. The lighting was not good. But most importantly the mattress and pillows were terrible. When I asked for a better pillow I was told they were all the same. They were like someone folded a table cloth and put in in a pillowcase. Flat, hard. Bed had no cushion at all. Also the lounge chairs at the pool were not comfortable.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here by chance when we were stuck in France during 9/11 in 2001. We loved it then because it felt like such a refuge and they treated us (Americans) with such grace. This time we stayed by choice and were not disappointed. The old world charm, the stateliness, the understated luxuriousness and value of the place will call us again. A glass of wine, a good book and the peace of the sitting room and grounds is a treat. The dinner we had there was excellent and the service was as well. Our ground floor rooms were spacious and comfortable. Fine staff and gracious host Paul Campbell (Manager).
Cons: It is a long walk to the village of Villeneuve les Avignon but still worth it. Our shower head was a little unruly but we managed to make it work for us and it does not detract from our memories of La Magnanerie.
8,3 Excellent
Cons: No elevator and pillows were not too comfortable.
4,6 Okay
Pros: Beautiful garden and building
Cons: Beds. Poor access to pool. Some staff unfriendly
9,6 Excellent

Pros: We loved the tranquility of this holel set in beautiful gardens with magnificent trees. A real haven. A realxing ambiance around the outdoor terrace . Beautiful lounge area. The staff was very nice and helpful . The room was spacious with comfortable bedding and well furnished . We liked the easy walk into the beautiful village of Villeneuve .
Cons: There was an awful drain musty smell coming from the bathroom and throughout the room. Such a shame, it made it very unpleasant to be in the room and spoilt what would have been ofherwise a very enjoyable stay. The lounge chairs also around the pool were very uncomfortable and should be upgraded, I also expected a mini bar and Tea or coffee making facilites in the room which is standard in four stars hotels . I was surprised these were not provided.

7,1 Good
Pros: A traditional French hotel which was just what we wanted. Breakfast was extra but they served a good continental breakfast. We were offered more viennoiserie if requested for no extra charge. The coffee was very good! The garden was a good place to relax and read a book (usually quiet) and it was lovely to have the chance to sit outside and enjoy the lovely weather. Staff were very pleasant. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the hotel was a good 2 star hotel.
Cons: We were overlooked by the tall property behind the hotel and so had to keep the bedroom and bathroom curtains shut in order to get dressed/ use the bathroom. Some voile curtains at the windows would have been a help with this. There were gaps in the doors (floor level) so we could hear everyone going up and down the stairs which were just outside our room.
7,5 Good
Pros: Very pleasant staff. Excellent location. Parking on the street outside. Quiet.
Cons: A very old bathroom. Dark corridors.
6,7 Good
Pros: Location, just a few minutes walk to old town.
Cons: A strange smell throughout. Many stairs and no help offered from staff with our luggage. Bath towels old and thin, one had a hole in it. No hairdryer. Very stuffy room. I don't like blankets would prefer a duvet.

Pros: Kind staff, cozy garden
7,5 Good
Pros: Nice interior and quiet. feel like home
Cons: My room was on the street side and it is located in front of a student accomodation. It was a bit noisy some times. White curtains would have been more than welcomed when I opened the windows for fresh air. The breakfast was a bit simple and light for the price.

Pros: Very charming hotel. We loved our duplex room with access to a lovely little open yard. We had everything we needed. Perfect that the whole hotel inclusive the terrasse are smoke free! That way you can keep doors and windows opened without getting choked. Very good location, walking distance to shopping, restaurants and sightseeing. Highly recommended.
Cons: The ventilation in the room, a bit humid.
6,3 Good
Pros: - close to the city center of Avignon; - clean place with air conditioning.
Cons: - small room with no space for luggage; - WiFi didn't work properly, only in the morning; - rude staff: Sabine shouted at me over the phone and wanted to hang up without having our conversation finished; - no parking available (even if it is in the propriety description) - a parking close to the location was recommended but it wasn't accessible/closed; - arrival fee after 8 PM, 50 EURO. (for a more flexible schedule, i would recommend to book a hotel); - nobody present at the reception on arrival: had to wait 5' and if I was to arrive at 20:05, I was supposed to pay a fee; - nobody introduced the facilities of the location and the possibility of having breakfast.
4,6 Okay
Pros: The court yard
Cons: Very dark, smelled like sewage. Uncomfortable beds. Since the owner left the windows open we got so many mosquito bites.
7,5 Good
Pros: Sabine was very kind and welcoming.
Cons: Very small room and petite bathroom but I guess in an old medieval town rooms have a small size. Mind the streets! Most are one way narrow streets that our GPS hadn't registered and it was difficult to find the hotel.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Sabine was delightful. Rang on the mobile when we were within an hour of our arrival to make sure we knew which gate to use to enter Avignon as there were major road works. Right in the centre with car parking in Les Halles only 1 minute away. Clean and bright room with fridge and cooker. Could easily do simple self catering. Plenty of storage. Very convenient. Sabine spike very good English.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful property with a wonderful manager in Sabine. Steps from Place Pie and Le Halles Avignon. Not to be missed. Many excellent restaurants and shop nearby.
Cons: The property is excellent, the city is very tough to travel around in. Use Le Halles as a central point.
