Very nice and helpful staff. Great hospitality. Great location in the super centre of the city. Beautiful hotel. Delicious breakfast with high quality foods. Nice shower and water system. Classic decor but newly renovated with hidden modern features. Love the unique dimming feature of the light.
Deluxe room is too small according to my standard. Access road to the hotel is very narrow and the GPS and Google Map doesn’t work. Please stick to a special map given by the hotel, print it out and navigate manually if you come by car.
Historic property in a great location.
When we arrived, our room was smaller than we had anticipated. The staff was wonderful in upgrading our reservation to a larger room. The staff were accommodating in every area. They helped arrange tours and drivers for us. The location was perfect. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
The breakfast was adequate and convenient but overpriced. Our room was smaller than expected, but the staff quickly remedied that situation for us.
The room we reserved and got was very small. Had asked for twin beds and they were right next to each other with about 3 ft of space around the beds. Tight squeeze. Bathroom was also quite small with tub/shower combo. Asked to change rooms and the front desk was nice enough to accommodate us with a slightly bigger room the next day. One has to expect that some of the rooms in this former palace are going to be small and feel dated because of the period furniture. The armchair we had was a Louis VI style and would only hold a size 2 woman sitting straight up. Wallpaper and others furniture are also antiquated. All is clean and well maintained. Double sinks are close together. All high end bath fixtures and linens/towels. The common spaces are generous and beautiful since they are on the ground floor with very high ceilings. Service was excellent. Location is right behind the papal palace. Difficult to reach with a car because of the very narrow one way streets. A GPS is a must. Once there, which is really a block away, must get the porter to come and help you get off the street. It’s a two man job since the driver is blocking the street.
Very good location.
Dont worry about paying for the view of the Popes palace - you’ll be staring at a stone wall. Rooms smallish and shower adequate at best. You will haemorrhage €€ for anything extra - like breakfast, parking, drink at the bar. If you want to have dinner here book ahead.
Staying at La Mirande is a journey back through centuries of exquisite French decorative art. La Mirande is a living historical monument in a romantic setting, a quiet cobbled square shared with the famous Popes Palace. Carefully restored to their original splendor all guestrooms have authentic period interiors with boiserie and chintz wall coverings and invisible state of the art technology. Lavishly decorated reception rooms are laid out around a delightful wicker-spiffed courtyard conservatory. The oldest and largest of them, a magnificent renaissance state room serves as the main restaurant, awarded with a Michelin star in 2019, with a terrace and a blissful garden for open air dining in the summer. Downstairs is the authentic 19th century kitchen, which offers table dhte dining and is also the venue for popular year long cooking classes.
