Cons: Bathroom is not a 5 star accomodation. Bad shower, not very clean. Too little power sockets pool is not heated, so my daughter didn't want to swim because it was too cold (end of october, temp outside 23-24°C) Beach is very small (but we didn't need one, so we didnt bother) You need a car to visit something, isolated location

Pros: The crew was great. The hotel is maintained and managed superbly. Everything was just great.

Cons: Having to deal with ordering places for the restaurants was not a lot of fun. Starting the Kids activities at 8:30 p.m. is way too late. The hotel is located on a pretty dull and mediocre beach and area.

Pros: The hotel is really nicely finished and the food is of high quality - we especially enjoyed the sushi bar. The location is great - not far from the airport and places of interest.

Cons: The spa was disappointing - my pedicure seemed a chore for the staff member. I also wasn't told that I'd receive 24% off if I booked within 24 hours of arrival, so I paid over the odds as I was 12 hours too late. The steam room was not hot, and both indoor pools were freezing.

Pros: Very good facilities - we enjoyed the pool and the beach access. The restaurants were also incredibly good and reasonably priced - the staff working at the Greek and Italian restaurants in particular were lovely.

Cons: I found that there were never enough people working at reception, which made it frustrating when we had to wait for over 20mins for a brief question. The staff in the breakfast area were also quite rude - they were more obsessed with clearing tables than actually noticing that we had left stuff at our table to go and get more food. We were not particularly impressed to come back to find another couple sitting there. We were also supposed to get a free 15min massage but were unable to do so as no one was there to actually help us book.

Pros: The place is very nice. It has everything you need for a good vacation: Sun, sea, amazing food, bar, garden. Very welcoming staff. The food is so great! The beds were comfortable. Overall we enjoyed our stay a lot.

Cons: A lot of families with kids there, so if you want a quiet and romantic time spend with your partner it is not quite a place for you in this occasion.

Pros: The food here was pretty good. The pool was nice and deep. Our room was huge.

Cons: We booked a day at the spa and were forced to cancel with plenty of notice. The spa clerk began berating us about how bad it is for them that we cancelled. She then proceeded to yell at us and accused us of not having enough money for the spa. (We had already paid...) I brought this matter to the front desk and they did not care. That is not the mentality of a 5 star hotel. Then again, I don’t believe that this is a true 5 star. I would say it rates at a solid 4 star. Most definitely wouldn’t recommend staying here due to the attitude of the staff.

Pros: The staff were exceptional. The location is perfect for exploring Heraklion on foot. Breakfast was excellent - a good selection of foods.

Cons: The rooms need some tlc. The flooring in the bedroom and bathroom needs replacing. The shower floor and the wash basin also need replacing. Better duvets would also be good. No body lotion which is highly unusual, especially for a 5* hotel.

Pros: Good location - easy to reach from the national road and airport very close to the heart of the city. Very clean. Large shower. Private parking, but very limited.

Cons: This was a very dissapointing stay for us. I would say this is a good 4* hotel, definitely not 5*. Overpriced for what you get. Pools closed in december, you could not even go to the rooftop for views. The bathroom was really bad and small - it had no door. Slow wifi. Breakfast was very dissapointing. Food waas evry average and the person who was supposed to make eggs to order was never there (we stayed 5 nights). Coffee was made to order but some mornings it was jsut terrible. Noisy - you can hear the airport in the harbour view rooms.

Pros: Very much welcomed by reception lady and warmly attended by restaurant ladies. Very convenient location to Bus Terminal for Knossos (50 m), Archaeological Museum (500 m), pedestrianized 25th Avgoustou Street (500 m) and Ferry Port (500 m). Beautiful room with high ceiling (4 m or more). Gorgeous buffet breakfast with a lot of variety of foods warmly served by restaurant ladies. I don't claim, as not hotel's fault, but good to know: The access to 25th Avgoustou Street is a narrow and dark street (at night) through 4 or 5 blocks. The sea view from terrace was not special.

Cons: Stump-like bedside table is beautiful, but not convenient to use. Needs drawers and shelfs to place personal things.

Pros: Located across from the ferry terminal and nearby to some nice dining. The hotel is really modern and rooms are nicely done. The bed is very comfortable. Great shower and amenities. Breakfast is a buffet with make your own orange juice and option for omelettes to be made to order. Very good breakfast.

Cons: We just passed through Heraklion from Chania to get to Santorini. Did not stay there long but did not seem to be a vacation hotspot. Would prefer to not make my own orange juice.

Cons: Noisy at times as located in the proximity of the airport. Then again so is almost all of Heraklion and the windows keep out most of the noise. The step up chair provided in front of the bathtub to climb in and use as a shower is a nice touch but I prefer a separate shower without the climbing exercise.

Pros: Loved the cookies at check in, amazing breakfast, confy bed and ammensties and modern decor. Fluffiest towels, robes and slippers! We only stayed for one night to be nearby the ferry (which we walked to)

Cons: Not the most spacious room ever used during travel for work. Considering that everything was of high standards I would expect a slightly better bed. Still very good but If I would rate everything else (atmosphere, design, breakfast, staff politeness, clean areas) with ten (10), I would rate the bed with eight (8)

Cons: the bathroom, comfort of the beds and smell of the entire place. The lighting in the hallways was dark. The bathrooms were extremely small and the photos highlighted were for the deluxe bungalows which was falsely advertising what to expect.

In the dinning area the “children’s “ corner only had fried food, didn’t have vegetables soup for kids and the soups they had during our stay (mushrooms and fish) were too salty. The pool bar food area closed at 5pm but if the food finished earlier, they wouldn’t refill it.

Pros: - The staff are brilliant. Not only are they some of the friendliest I’ve ever met, but they also seem to have a genuine enthusiasm for their jobs. - the food was really good. They always had such a great selection for every taste. - there’s a lot of options of things to do and activities. - the massage was really good! And I thought, decently priced. - the evening entertainment was always fun. They got some great acts and the resident performers were absolutely lovely, and very good to watch. We loved their Disney themed night!!

Cons: - The cocktails need a lot of work. I never thought you could get a Cuba Libre so wrong until I went to Agapi... - the room was very outdated. I felt like I was on a cruise ship in the 70s (and not in a cool stylish way...)

Pros: Great hotel with all what you need! The best food with a lot of variety, every time fresh and delicious. The rooms are very beautiful, big and clean (we had 3 rooms). The beach is wonderful with calm and crystal water. The staff is very friendly and nice. The WiFi runs very smoothly in all places. We checked in at 3.00 am and they waited for us with a delicious buffet and drinks. Also, we checked out at 5.00 am and they organized a great buffet. It was very beautiful and we enjoyed every second! Thank you very much for the best holiday and we will be back for sure!!

Cons: The animation team didn’t do anything to entertain guests. They had a program but unfortunately they did not respect it. It is very unfortunate since it’s a wonderful hotel with wonderful people.

Pros: We stayed in the annex building which was very modern and our room opened out onto the pool. The food was excellent and offered lots of variety. The pool and beach areas were clean and there were plenty of sunbeds. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Cons: We felt slightly ripped off with some of the spa prices - they were dramatically reduced the day after we purchased a treatment.

Pros: The staff were all so friendly, the food was tasty and plentiful. Even my husband, who eats mostly protein, had plenty of food to choose from. Sunrise and sunset was beautiful every day, and there were always beach chairs available.

Pros: The staff were so nice and friendly at reception. They facilitated an early check in and on our last day were more than happy to let us have all inclusive all day if desired. All staff were friendly. The proximity to the beach was brilliant. It's a great little hotel.

Pros: Sofia and breakfast were the highlight of the day. Her service was excellent. After a week, breakfast could use a bit of variety but there is no reason to leave hungry ever.

Cons: The property is not appropriate for anyone with mobility issues. There are a lot of stairs and there is no way to avoid this. As well, parking is not appropriate for a larger vehicle. If you are wanting to walk to local restaurants and shopping, there is a lot nearby but parking was an issue and we ended up part way down the hill in a vacant lot.

Pros: The staff were lovely and very helpful. The location was really good, the village of Koutouloufari was a short walk. The beach was 15 mins walk with easy reach of lots of shops

Cons: The photographs were very misleading. The pool was very small and the area around it was even smaller with small areas to put only a few sun loungers. We chose to go the beach everyday which was disappointing for the children. The rooms were very tired, our bathroom door was rotten at the bottom and the shower was tiny, not ideal when your husband is 6’3! The lighting was poor and we sat almost in the dark in our bedroom with one tiny lamp. The kitchenette had a broken kettle, but was still useable luckily The front door and terrace did not close properly so we kept the wooden shutters closed when out as we didn’t feel the room was very secure.

Pros: Astoria Capsis is located in the heart of Heraklion near major sites and shopping opportunities. You can easily walk to a lot of archaeological sites like the former fortress docks & harbours. There are a lot places to eat and shopping close by.

Cons: No fitness center for exercise. There weren't a lot of choice for their breakfast. Can be noisy. My room had a noticeable sway for no apparent reason, possibly the foundation of the building was not stable.

Pros: Very good location, walking distance from the city center, bus and taxi station in front of the hotel. The room was very spacious with a very large (and confortable !) bed. The room is very quiet, when the window is closed you don't hear anything from the outside. All was very clean. Very friendly staff; we checked in quite early and managed to get our room ready in 10 minutes. As we were also leaving too early for breakfast they insisted on preparing for us a basket with fruits, sandwiches and drinks. Very good for the price compared to other hotels in Heraklion. We will definitely come back.

Pros: I travel a lot and this was AWESOME for that money. We had all in. DELICIOUS FOOD since morning till night. Personal was very nice, they helped me with bus connection searching, baggage, parking of my quad, there was no problem with nothing - appreciate receptionist Despina oh my god she was superawesome. Really. About personal really best hotel I have ever met. Room was nice as you can see in the pictures. There are lot of shops and pubs, restaurants nearby. Two pretty beaches just next to the hotel (and others just 10 minutes of walk) or you can take bus or rent moto and go wherever you want like we did. I do recomend this hotel very much and I will come back I swear.

Cons: I liked it a lot as you can see but there are some little things which could be easily better for my next stay :-) We had apartment number 54 I think - just above sitting spot of hotel boss :-) - AC goes off if you open balcony door for few seconds.. ti would be good to set for example 5 minutes interval - Toilet seat does not stand vertically so you have to sit every time and its still falling on your back, omg :-) - When you go to balcony there is next balcony on the left and there is some spray left and rubbish from history - Too little rubish bin in the room - there is space for literally nothing - Blue/white bulbs in the room feel like hospital sometimes, warm bulbs are much more comfortable - Wooden ceiling is little bit dirty from the colour of walls, it would be good to clean it

Pros: Nice staff, especially waiters - super nice, friendly, always helping with smile! Good food (can't say healthy, but good), especially pizza, just amazing! There is a lot to choose from, you can always find something that will amaze you. Lots of desserts, including fruits, cakes and ice creams. Good coffee, I really liked it! The drinks like rum & coke also good, however each one had a different amount of alcohol in it. The wifi is accessible in most of the places. The entertainments were nice, during our 4 days stay we experienced two dance shows and a live concert, it was great to just sit and chill with a drink. Very nice all inclusive, lots of food and drinks, there is no way you are gonna be hungry there! Very comfortable beds!

Cons: Starting from the beginning, when we arrived the room was not ready yet. We were offered a lunch and still had to wait around one more hour. After that the lady showed us our room, the door was open. When we walked in we were disappointed. It looked like it was older than my grandma and didn't smell nice. We just left our things and went to the beach. When we came back the odor was killing (then I understood why the door was opened when we arrived)! It smelled terribly bad like MOLD, after a closer look we could see lots of mold in the bathroom, dead insects on the walls, dirty coach and curtains (with something that I guess was blood), DIRT EVERYWHERE. We even checked what we booked on booking.com, because it was unbelievable. We went to reception to complain, the lady didn't seem surprised or bothered. She wasn't even sure what mold is in the first place! Just told us to come in the morning. I couldn't sleep that night, it was so uncomfortable, the air conditioning was not working, the window was very small so very little of fresh air was coming in, with the feeling that some insects may come from underneath the bed. Terrible!!! The next day different lady at the reception kindly apologized and promised another room asap. We were moved to newly renovated room (the one we actually saw and booked on booking.com). There was less mold in the bathroom and air conditioning was working, the room itself looked cleaner than the previous one. Even though my boyfriend considers this stay pleasant, I wouldn't go there anymore. All that situation was nothing like relaxing holidays. Beside that, some general drawbacks: Overcrowded pool, with sunbeds "booked" with towels and other belonging by fatty Brits as early as 8 a.m. Freaking annoying! Food aiming at satisfy Brits, with all that fatty and unhealthy snacks, fries, bacon, "baked" potatoes drowning in oil, sausages, desserts with unreasonable amounts of sugar.

Pros: The staff were exceptionally helpful. They provided a birthday cake for my daughter's birthday, the restaurant staff all presented it and sang happy birthday. They allowed us to overstay for the afternoon rather than checking out at lunchtime and provided meals free of charge for the afternoon and evening. The staff were all very helpful and all seemed to speak multiple languages.

Very helpful staff at front desk. Very beautiful and clean beach with super place to swimming and diving. A few simple kiosks to buy necessary things if you forget. We really like that hotel.

Cons: Food at main restaurant. In principle - Same breakfest menu for the whole week. Lunch and dinner seemed to many variations with a bit low quality. I would suggest less with higher quality for main courses. No dedicated kids menu- that was a really challenge to find sth. for them to eat. That is just our experience. We really liked restaurant Atina- nice musik, climate and reasonable quality and quantitive quick food. Animations far to less and very basic. Possible it has been as the real holiday season ends. Pros: The crew was very nice and helpful. The option to rent a car in the hotel is great. The pools were fun and clean. The rooms were clean.

Cons: The food was mediocre, especially for a greek food which is excelent...In addition breakfast was exactly the same and same goes for lunch...at dinner only one dish changed. In addition the place is not stroller friendly many many stairs which is hard for kids and older people. Beach is not sandy but with rocks and I did not like it at all.

Cons: Smoking on the terraces smoking at the bars smoking should be at outside tables. You advertised no smoking throughout Eating area in main restaurant was hectic too many tables left dirty. Watching staff re-use left over cutlery on part used table's . Chipped plates cups . Cutlery for right use not teaspoon to eat dessert Coffee never tasty to weak also machine not always working. Wine provided was All dry wine! would have been nice semi sweat or medium bodied. WiFi unexcetable

Pros: Very nice breakfast and the food at the buffet very good and for all tastes, far better than the Restaurant that you have to book. Very calm place considering late August. Good value for money for families, if you get a deal around 250€ for a family room all inclusive.

Cons: The beach is bad, strong sea, waves and rocks. You need to walk 1km to a nearby bay to have a nice sea swim. It's a 3* hotel in European standarts, not 4*.

Pros: I liked it all! Location is superb! Great facilities, great pools, outstanding staff! Rooms and hotel area is very high maintained. All inclusive offers great value!

Cons: The family room had a balcony (!) which was far too small. We enquired about other sized rooms, but got no definate answers! The view was of a building's back wall. There wasn't enough vegetarian food choices.

Cons: No heated pool!!! - we went with kids last week of October so swimming pools and seas are both too cold for kids to play. There is a indoor pool next to gym BUT no kids are allowed, it’s not heated anyway, not as advertised on their website; Need to hire a car - if you want to venture out to nearby cities & restaurants.

Cons: The hotel is amazing!! The only issue we had is with the towels to the swimming pools. It is not possible to take it in the water park , it is impossible to take it afternoon or change it twice a day. The woman is not so friendly. Not in the same quality as the hotel.

Cons: We payed for all inclusive not knowing that almost everything was closed there! We basically just got hotel room and food!Absolutely no entertainment for kids! Swimming pools were not heated and the water park was closed! Even the beach towels boot closed on first day! No night entertainment as well or water sports! Maybe travelling in summer would be different, but would not suggest anyone specially with kids to go in November even though the weather was really good!

Pros: Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and balcony view was fabulous. Breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay... amazing selection of Cretan and Mediterranean dishes! I’ll be thinking about that breakfast for a long time. Also cannot say enough nice things about the staff at this hotel. Everyone that we encountered went above and beyond to make sure we had a pleasant stay and enjoyed everything that Crete had to offer for the short time we were on the island. One of the front desk receptionists (apologies I did not get her name) arranged for a taxi to take us to nearby villages and Knossos for a day trip for a very fair price. We received excellent recommendations from the front desk staff throughout our stay and they were all extremely friendly and helpful. We rented a car one day and all we had to do was inform the hotel when we arrived and they had someone park our car for us... no extra fee for this service. An overall positive and pleasant experience at this hotel and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Heraklion.

Cons: Just a few things for me personally that probably will not apply to all guests however I world have liked to have lotion as a part of the toiletries available. Also, the shower pressure was not strong enough for my standards.

Pros: Location is good when you have a car, it is easy to get to centre and the beach. The bed is very good. The room is big enough.

Cons: Food is not the best quality, could be much better. Selection of drinks is poor. There is no proper esspreso coffee in hotel at all, even if you want to pay for something good. Curtains in the bathtub should be replaced. Towels are old and used a lot, could be replaced.

Pros: Having to pay for a towel every day was really annoying.. Quality of food isn't great.. Mostly frozen food. Too overcrowded at mealtimes and not enough beds at the pool.

Pros: Beautiful location as we were on a hill so the views were fantastic - bit of a trek to the main town (about 30 minutes) but it's a lovely walk along the front. Food was brilliant - of course there's going to be some things that are a bit strange but generally, I was pleasantly surprised by the selection. Lovely fresh salads, lots of fresh fish, meat and vegetables. The snack bar served fresh Gyros every day and freshly cooked woodfired pizza - bit annoyed that we only discovered this halfway through the holiday! Great pools - always lots of sunbeds (we stayed in October so may have been quieter). Staff so friendly and what we saw of the entertainment was great too. Beer was good

Cons: Too much single-use plastic is used - we weren't even allowed to fill up our bottles with water, we had to use plastic cups? I urge people to take your own reusable cups to use for the bars etc.

Cons: Some staff in the restaurant were rude and unhelpful. So much plastic waste!!! Single use plastic cups, cutlery and plates used every day except in the restaurant which is not good for the environment at all. Very unhappy to see the amount of plastic thrown away everyday at this hotel.

Cons: It's far from the beach and even beach zone is very poor. Under bed was a lot of dirty. No facilities in the bathroom even no sleepers, gentlemen on the reception says it's not in standard room category and it's 4 star hotel. Stuff was mostly unhelpful. Food and drink is typically poor quality for all inclusive. Saunas is NOT Free of charge. Mostly normal drinks you have to pay for. A lot of mosquitos in the room and spider visiting our room tonight. For the beach towels you have to pay as well.

Cons: The Imperial Belvedere's only problem is that it is located rather remotely from the best part of Creta. But everything worth seeing in Greece requires work. So, if you're willing to rent a car (as absolutely required in my hometown, Los Angeles) then you cant do better for your dollar than the Belvedere; clearly one of my best hotel experiences

Pros: It was very close to what we needed and to Public transport. Stella is amazing. What a lovely person to have at Hotel! Stella was a star! We liked Stella a lot! Enjoyed air con and the cat George. Loved our view. Loved the balcony.

Pros: The breakfast was good and offered a good variety to choose from. The staff was friendly. The hotel is close to the beach and one particular restaurant really made our stay worth it. This is the "Nikoloudis" which has amazing local food for very affordable prices, great see view and very friendly staff.

Cons: I booked the first night as a separate booking (because the superior double room with see view was not available that day). This first night was cancelled the day before our holiday without warning and therefore we had to rebook something else in a panic. When we arrived at the hotel (the second night), the room we were given was not as described in the pictures, and it had a two single beds instead of a double bed which we specifically booked. We were offered to move to the room we actually booked but only the next day. The shower in the first room had mold and it was not appealing to use it at all. In the second room we got, there was still hair on the floor and the overall cleanliness was quite poor. The balcony door was broken and did not close (neighbors could theoretically come in via the balcony). We were promised that this would be fixed the next day but this was only fixed two days later. At least we were offered to use the safe for free (normally 2€/day) as a compensation. The walls are very thin and we could hear a lot of noise from other rooms. The cleaning was not done every day but I don't blame the cleaning lady as she is alone for 15 rooms or more and is clearly overworked. One day she had to prepare 10 rooms for new customers so did not clean ours. When it was serviced, the bed sheets were simply put on the bed, still folded and we had to make our bed ourselves. Moreover, all the towels we got were stained. I cannot understand how this hotel has such high grades even considering the good breakfast and nice garden and friendly staff. Quite a few other customers seemed to have complaints too.

Beautifully maintained garden and parking available. Too cool to use the pool when I was there but it looked very inviting.
