Pros: Friendly staff and easy check-in. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed the range of amenities provided in the room.
Cons: From the photos on the booking.com it's not clear that the hotel is a small apartment building. Or maybe the name ”villa” is misleading. However, the hotel is still very nice.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was amazing, the bathroom was even better. Location was off the main road so it was extra quiet but only a 5 minute walk from the subway line. Easy walking to the castle, Palace, and other sites. The staff? Beyond exceptional, words don't exist for how nice and helpful they were.

Pros: The staff
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Close to JR Kyoto Station. Very accessible & convenient. Friendly & helpful staff. I booked for 1 room.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location. Staff. Amazing homemade beakfast. Neat and clean room. Own window in the room. On the check-in lady from the reception gave me a short and extremely helpful guides about the hostel and local attractions. Location is very good. Laundry. Bike rental. Highly recommended. I'd love to stay with guys at a chance again.
Cons: The only unexpected thing was the shower being only at the first floor. But facilities are all new and good. And I had a washbasin at my room so it is something one could get used to.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location, the bed, the vibes of the hostel with its staff and all the things they offered to you ( happy hours, games etc)
Cons: The showers are only on the first floor, but it’s okay
10,0 Excellent
Pros: My second time in this hostel and it keeps exceeding my expectations. Staff is really friendly and helpful and speak perfect English. Special thanks to Rainy and Midori. The place is very clean, including bathrooms – a place often neglected in many hostels. In my first time in this hostel, I booked a private room. Now it was time to try the shared room for six people. The experience was positive. I was there during New Year and they prepared a special soup served during that occasion and sake. Both free to guests. The idea was very thoughtful. I wanted to try the other Piece Hostel, but the location of this one is so perfect that I couldn’t say no to (it is right next to the train station). You get in Kyoto, walk a bit and arrive at the hostel.
Cons: All perfect.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very close to Kyoto station. facilities such as kitchen and showers very useful. Great free breakfast. would definitely visit again.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: It is a super modern, stylish and clean place. It was far superior to the hostels I stayed in Tokyo and Osaka, but a little cheaper. The common areas were great for socialising and the showers were quite good as well.
Cons: - There was a 200 yen fee that was charged during check-in (I believe it's a city-specific, compulsory surcharge). Even though the value is symbolic, it felt like a "hidden" fee I was being charged without being fully aware of in advance. But this is a minor point. - Checking out at 10am is a bit unreasonable given that in Tokyo and Osaka the standard seems to be 11am.

Pros: The staff was super friendly and nice. Very clean. Great breakfast
Cons: The rooms were small and no drawers. The bed is on one step platform which could be inconvenient in the middle of the night! Kyoto is expensive so I am not sure how to rate “good value rating”
9,2 Excellent
Pros: the room size was very good for family of 3 to 4 persons. very nicely decorated with mix of Japanese Zen style and modern in-room facilities, esp the washroom. my family and I were esp impressed with the food quality in its teppanyaki restaurant (beef was well prepared), and its breakfast. definitely will come back again.
Cons: nothing to complain

We chose breakfast option and very sophisticated breakfast.
Cons: Our room has noise problem, 1 night from the AC and because have lots of wood, sometimes have cracking sound from the woods due to temperature difference.

Pros: Thanks to front desk staff for retrieving my property mistakenly removed by cleaning staff. Location in shopping area and having separate room areas for bed, bath/shower, toilet and sink. If you request early you may get a room with mountain view.
Cons: Non-competitive breakfast cost. Taxi can not stop near hotel entrance. Water and room temperatures unstable.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was so nice and cozy, also private onsen free of charge was amazing
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Cleaness
Cons: The location is not good.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: This is one of two of our favourite hotels in Japan. It is situated in a large covered shopping complex so food and other things were readily at hand. It was also convenient to catch busses or get taxis. One of its best features is that there is a stand-alone shower in the bathroom - no need to climb in and out of the bath tub, and important consideration for me - I am 83 and partially disabled.
Cons: What was there to dislike!

4,0 Okay
Cons: 1. the hotel TV has only one English channel, 10 Japanese channels. 2. there is no gym facilities, no swimming pool 3. Buffett food has very few items 4. very little information about available local tours
8,2 Excellent
Pros: The whole hotel was so fancy and My parents got satisfied by their kind service. Amenities were good, ah they supplied us twin double bed and it was also good. The room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: The only problem of this hotel was the location. Not too bad but can't explain it's good. We 4 families always used taxi but solo or couple travelers may feel the taxi fee in Osaka is a little bit expensive.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was gorgeous, with a very comfortable bed, luxurious bathroom, and friendly, attentive staff.
Cons: The location of this hotel is not great for sightseeing or leaving the hotel for a meal. The shuttle bus to the subway line is handy though (I just wish I knew I about it before hailing a cab to get there from downtown).

The resort features 134 guest rooms with traditional Japanese motifs, four restaurants and bars including modern Japanese cuisine and a spa for the ultimate rejuvenation.
8,2 Excellent
Pros: The swimming pool.
Cons: The price to value was very high and the hotel billed me twice accidentally.
7,1 Good
Cons: They woke us up at 7:50 to tell us about a restaurant we asked for breakfast recommendation. The room is too small, with to storage space for a couple, a view of "the city" looks like a slam, lack of a 5-star quality, yet the service was good.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Discreet & the amazing attention to detail
Cons: Initially our room looked into someone’s toilet! We asked to be moved and we were & given French champagne!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this hotel is so beautiful. Their greatest strenght is in their concierge team and their luxurious breakfasts.
Cons: Absolutely genuinely nothing
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Italian restaurant and the Japanese restaurants are both good
Cons: There’s one guy at the concierge attitude is not very friendly! he never smile when you come to talk to him. And the rest of people are good.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: So much of your experience of Kyoto is where you are staying. I am so glad I changed hotels to stay at the Ritz one night. The service is outstanding, the location is incredible, and I had one of the nicest spa experiences of my whole life. Staying here will be one of my top memories of my lifetime. Cannot recommend highly enough.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful accommodations - nice design and attentive staff
Cons: While you expect to pay extra for such luxury accommodation the price charged was excessive in my assessment compared to other accommodations available given the limited number of amenities available - 2 restaurants only in particular.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were amazing! We had a wonderful experience, the bed was SO comfortable and the facilities were exceptional.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very friendly and helpful. My girlfriend was headache at the midnight and they are willing to help to buy pain killer at that point of time. Very flexible & helpful arrangement. Able to help purchase Japanese sweet in advance. Besides, the hotel located beside the river and the view is simply superb.
Cons: Nothing

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very organized and clean. The restaurant had a variety of food for breakfast that we enjoyed. The service was excellent as they made us feel comfortable and welcomed to stay at the hotel and helped us in our time in need.
Cons: Nothing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: New establishment of sophisticated taste. Rate is reasonable during off season. Great location. A walk to kiyomizudera and back was merry. Persimmon served with welcome tea is ridicuously palatable. I bought 6 packs as souvenir.
Cons: Breakfast below expectation. (Well it was free during off season so I cannot really complain)
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous property with incredible facilities — the gym and spa were fantastic and the room perfectly decorated and extremely comfortable
Cons: The food was very good, but extremely expensive. It was challenging to get a reasonably-priced breakfast. The in-room coffee and tea was great and there was fruit and some delicious homemade breakfast bars at the gym, so we were able to pull together our own, which worked well.

Pros: Appreciated the excellent attention to detail by the staff. On previous stay in May I'd left two items behind and upon check in this trip the front reception had my two items waiting for me. Easy to get on the subway right outside the hotel. Enjoyed the beautiful interior design of both the rooms and bathrooms, plus the coffee, tea and snacks refreshed each day. Great to have use of the Handi phone, both as a phone and as a wifi hotspot. Three of us able to share a room with two large twin beds plus a sofa bed.

Pros: The meals were absolutely amazing. The dinner was classic Kyoto Kaiseki and it was a multi course indulgence. Excellent location, literally right next to Yasaka Shrine.
Cons: The price was a little high but overall it's good. A lot of rules but didn't bother us. There's nothing to dislike about this property. Really amazing staff.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: excellent location good services
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The stay experience with the hotel is wonderful! They replied message quickly and helped us a lot regarding our problems. The Kobe beef restaurant they recommended is so unforgettable and the Maiko show performed in the hotel is another spot! Highly recommend!
7,5 Good
Pros: The onsen was nice but there was no outdoor onsen
Cons: The food was not as good as other ryokan I have stayed at and the futons not as comfortable. There was an awful loud motor noise in our room and we had to swap rooms but they were very helpful to us.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Service and location
8,0 Excellent
Pros: the ladies who served us dinner and breakfast were lovely, really sweet and gracious.
Cons: well - its a ryokan so... no where to sit comfortably in your room and many rules. that is expected but also weirdly - only 2 towels in the room literally 2. no hand towels, face towels, just 2 small thin towels. also one room smelled slightly musty or of drains. they are very rigid in the rules which some might find unwelcoming. i guess i prefer western style hotels..
8,0 Excellent
Pros: This is a very authentic place keeping the spirit of traditional Japanese Ryokan. So if you'd like to experience traditional Japanese-style living and dining culture, I'd recommend you to stay here. In-room dining in traditional Japanese style, having your personal room assistant, sleeping on the futons on the floor, visiting traditional public bath onsite - all these activities make you feel like a samurai. However, unusual food and sleeping on the floor may become tiring after one night, therefore based on our own experience I'd not recommend to stay there for more than 1 night (we stayed for 3 nights and it was too much, we became really tired of it).
Cons: Be cautious if you are allergic - in-room dining is very stylish but you may not even know what exactly you are eating and may have never tried such a seafood, therefore allergy may come up unexpectedly (this was my case, though generally I am not allergic to common seafood in Europe). Further, futons and pillows are all made of feather and the hotel cannot replace them with non-allergic synthetic ones, which is generally a normal practice with 5 star hotels. So this place may definitely be difficult for allergic person. Further, sleeping on the floor on the futons is not so comfortable and you get really tired of it if you stay for longer than one night. Also during the daytime futons are taken away to spare the space for the tea table, which makes it uncomfortable and even not possible to take a nap during the daytime. You have to lay on the tatami floor basically. It was very cold in the room, we had to use air conditioning all the time. Unfortunately, no air conditioning or heating was available in the private bathroom which made it impossible to use it. On overall, it's an interesting experience for learning the Japanese culture, however too expensive and definitely not for relaxation.
7,5 Good
Pros: Great Location, Beautiful staff, great Keiseiki diner and very good breakfast, nice onsen.
Cons: Futon bedding very uncomfortable sleep. Wifi very slow and often stopping.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: nice service, nice food, nice place, will be the only one option when I come back to Kyoto in the future.
Cons: bit far from public transport, taxi is best option

9,2 Excellent
Pros: The location is very convenient, room is big with comfy pillows. The most important was a staff at the cloakroom, Kan-San, left an indelible impact about true Japanese service culture. Mr Kan not only helped me contact the bus company of which I left a bag and jacket behind when I disembarked, he actually accompanied and showed me the way to the office to claim back my stuff
Cons: Could improve on providing coffee in the room, only green tea was provided.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Bed is big
Cons: Nothing
8,8 Excellent
Pros: the location was great, just outside of Kyoto Station, you can basically go anywhere in best convenience
Cons: there's nothing really I didn't like about the hotel itself(in fact it's already my second stay here), but I gotta say there's nothing much to do in Kyoto in the nights, maybe that's just because I didn't found the right place to go?......
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very convenient location. Just at the opposite side to the Kyoto station, which made us could go everywhere we’d like to through train, bus and underground. The staff and service were good.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Right across the street from central train station. The room we got was a nice size. The hotel is a tad dated but perfect for a few days in Kyoto. Location is fantastic and reasonable price. We were happy!
5,0 Okay
Pros: The location was convenient to the station, restaurants and post office.
Cons: My daughter's bed had hair in it as though it had not been washed. She slept on top of the bed using the bathrobes for a blanket. The bathroom was moderately clean. The beds and pillows were not very comfortable.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was great, right next to Kyoto station. They stored our luggage for us before we checked in and also after we checked out, so it saved us having to rent a locker at the station.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Location, location, location. I stayed in a room over watching the Kyoto Station. It really was indescribable.

Cons: Hotel itself was just meh. Amazing location above Kyoto Station but it comes at a hefty price. Since we were using the Japan Rail Pass for the day trips, it was worth it. Would stay there again.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: Buffet breakfast and location
Cons: Fitness center hours and front desk staff.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Nice location and convenient
Cons: Price little bit high
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location and concierge service.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The cleanliness was great and the fact it was situated right at the train station made everything very convenient. I loved how the toilet lid would automatically lift up when you enter the cubicle. Shower pressure was good and bed was comfy. Staff would always greet you so you’d feel very welcomed.
Cons: One of the faults I could point out is the size of the room - it’s quite small for the price paid. We also ordered room service one night (just fried chicken) at ~9.30pm and they brought it up at 11.30pm. We thought they weren’t coming and had gone to bed. Did not end up eating it so it was a waste of money and food.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Located right at the Train Station. Made getting around Kyoto easy.
Cons: We left the train station from the wrong exit and ended up on the opposite side of the train tracks from the hotel. We couldn't communicate well enough to understand there was a nice mall/tunnel we could walk through to get to the hotel.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. We stayed there over Christmas and it was lovely. The room was fantastic. Massive. Very clean and modern and everything we needed. We had room service breakfast on Christmas day and the food was lovely and right on time.

A stay at Sakura Terrace The Gallery places you in the heart of Kyoto, within a 10-minute drive of Toji Temple and Sanjusangendo Temple. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed this hotel and were impressed with the amenities. In addition to a clean and relaxing public bath, the hotel offered a free happy hour drink every night with live music and unlimited coffee and tea in the lobby. It was also within a few blocks of the train station so very convenient. We also used their laundry service and it was very prompt and thorough, though pricy. We would definitely recommend this hotel for couples or families traveling in kyoto!
Cons: The rooms were a bit small but overall very comfortable.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: It’s our 3rd time staying at this hotel. It’s close to the Kyoto station, yet avoiding the hustle bustle of the north side of the station. Its rooms are always clean, and its front desk staff were often found to be helpful and speaking very good English.
Cons: For this stay, we drove to the hotel - the first time we took that arrival mode, and subsequently found 3 problems. First, my Toyota rental car’s GPS does not have the hotel’s telephone number in the system. Consequently, we had great difficulty finding the hotel. Secondly, the hotel does not provide any parking, nor does it have any arrangement with nearby public parking operators. Mind you, public parkings nearby were quite expensive. Thirdly, upon arrival, we parked our car temporarily on the hotel’s sidewalk to unload our luggage and wanted to check in first. But a male staff was very rude demanding us to move away our car immediately, without letting us complete the check-in process first. He could have been more tolerant.
7,9 Good
Cons: The property itself is good and clean, but there is something that needs to be highlighted for the groups. There is hotel policy saying, that for groups more than 3 rooms additional supplements will be applied. We travelled as group of 5 people and we booked 3 rooms in this property. When we arrived it appeared that “additional supplements” meant that we can’t get together on a property territory and they will not be able to serve us a dinner or breakfast (tat we paid already) at the same table. We were forced to sign the policy that we agreed with that rules during checkin of the last group member and that policy was applied for all of us even we haven’t signed anything. We were told we won’t be able to stay if we won’t sign. When we asked to show the policy on the booking, it is appeared that policy was in Japanese, not in English. When we tried to explain that policy in English was not clear and it talked about more than 3 rooms, when we had 3 rooms, the conversation didn’t go anywhere. The policy is justified by some vague wording about nice environment for all guests, assume there was a bad experience with big groups being too loud or crazy partying. When we explained that we have a pregnant lady in the group and will not be crazy partying, it also didn’t help. It was quite disappointing experience on this matter, cause it wasn’t clear while we were booking and if we knew in advance we would chose different property (especially considering that this property was on a higher price range).
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is close to the trains, close to a reliable taxi company, and has amazing facilities. Some of the best accomodations for the price I have ever had.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very close to Kyoto train station, just 5 minutes walk across the street. Very easy to travel to all the places of interest and also the neighbourhood was quiet. The room is spacious and very clean. Daily welcome drink is a bonus that help you to relax at the end of a long day. Very friendly staff and great facility. Will definitely recommend this hotel to others and I'm looking forward to going back staying there again.
Cons: Nothing at all.

Pros: Superb location! Stone’s throw away from the subway, 7/11 close by and central to various Kyoto destinations. It was incredibly clean, and it felt like home when we’d settle in for the night. Would absolutely stay here again in Kyoto!
Cons: Water strength of the shower wasn’t so great
3,0 Mediocre
Cons: We have been there with friends, 5 people. The hotel didn't allow us to visit the restaurant altogether. They forced us to sign the policy where it wasn't stated that we can't have dinner as a group of five. It said that if you booked MORE than 3 rooms, you can't seat together in a restaurant. We find it unreasonable and absolutely misleading. Moreover, it's not mentioned on their booking web page. It says: if you book more than 3 rooms, certain conditions will apply. If we had known what they mean by conditions, we would have never stayed in that hotel.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast, free drinks, location of property and adult only hotel
Cons: The room size too small and not much of view from the room.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved this hotel and highly recommend. Location was a few short blocks away from Kyoto station. The staff was extremely helpful - many restaurants were closed because of the New Years holiday and the staff called 10+ restaurants on behalf of us to make a reservation. They had welcome drinks in the lobby each evening and good music.
Cons: Nothing.
9,4 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were spacious for Japan standards. I liked the bath and the other Anne ties offered on the property.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything from the reasonable room size for a Japanese hotel (we went for the King North Terrace which was one of the bigger rooms), complimentary drink at night including reasonable quality spirits, wine etc., live music at night, leisure areas with comfortable seating, complimentary beverages (on ground floor) with a range of coffees to choose from etc., a reasonable buffet breakfast with enough choices to cater for western dining, free washing machines and dryers and it is very close to the station and the bus terminal.
Cons: Nothing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This was a great hotel located right near the central station. You get a free drink of your choice from the bar every night. The rooms are really nice and staff very friendly. The hotel restaurant is also very good.

Pros: Great location
Cons: Rooms are old and over-rated, furniture and carpet is dirty. This is a 3 - 3.5 star hotel, not a 4 star.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The place has been fully renovated and it’s beautiful. It was even better than the last time I stayed here! It’s right next to Kyoto station, rooms are well appointed, service was as usual excellent. The concierge even helped provide excellent suggestions for a kaiseki dinner. I would recommend anyone to stay here!

Pros: The cleanliness of the room
Cons: The extra bed is not very comfortable .
8,3 Excellent
Pros: This is the fourth time I visit Kyoto and the third time stay in this hotel. The hotel has excellent location and delicious breakfast, the stuffs are all very friendly! Definitely will choose here next time!
Cons: The bathroom is not separated with toilet, my friend and I need to use it one by one every time; if one person take shower then another person has to wait until finish in order to use the toilet, not very convenient.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good. Only few minutes walk to the main station.
Cons: Extra bed only available in Twin room.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Being next to Kyoto station made things really easy for my wife I. Getting to trains that took us to other parts of the city were really simple and the station had plenty of restaurants and shops to choose from.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location Room size English speaking staff Very clean
Cons: 3rd bed for a 3rd person is pull out couch & very hard. Although, I was very happy they even had a 3 person room, so it's not that much of a negative.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: LOCATION IS BEST!
Cons: The bed and room is to small for us.
7,1 Good
Pros: Although it was compact, the room was clean and bathroom rather elegantly inviting. The Vietnamese restaurant downstairs had an ok rating on google (3.6) but the dinner was really good. The hotel is very nicely designed too.
Cons: The staff made mistakes and were unfriendly. This was literally the worst check-in experience I’ve ever had. I booked a room with breakfast for 3 people (adult, plus kids - 13 and 11). The lady at reception said I had booked without breakfast. I insisted otherwise. She admitted the mistake. I then had to pay at the machine. The amount didn’t include breakfast and was higher than the amount on booking.com which included breakfast. A more experienced guy at reception took over and the situation escalated. He was slow and not the client-facing type... He insisted that breakfast was only included for one adult but the numbers really didn’t add up. To make the story short, booking.con eventually intervened (I called them and they showed understanding and spoke to the hotel) and at the end the hotel (reluctantly) gave up and provided the breakfast coupons. Breakfast wasn’t great although highly rated by other guests (“fabulous breakfast”). Selection not too bad but average quality.

Pros: Location. Hotel entrance
Cons: Room small and dark. Carpets needed updating. Have instant coffee instead of drip - cup was too small.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Great location! Easy access to bus lines and subways. The bathroom is quite large relative to the room size. Effective use of space. They can store your luggage for you free of charge if you arrive early. I did this and it was a huge lifesaver.
Cons: No minibar, but I never use that stuff anyway.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is good as it is near to the train station and Sanjo dori.
Cons: The lightings are a little too dim, especially nearing the entrance of the hotel lobby. When I haven't make out where is the door, the door slides open!
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is very good. Staff helpful and courteous. It's generally a clean hotel (except for our little issue), and we totally enjoyed the carbonated spring feature of the bathroom we used it every night. :)
Cons: We spilled the ground coffee on the carpet, but they didn't vacuum it when we came back. Next day, told the cleaners about it, but still they didn't clean it up.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is near all the amenities and very close to the metro station. Staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast restaurant next door is very nice.

Pros: Comfy beds and size of the rooms.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel. Highly recommended from a world traveler.
5,1 Okay
Pros: It's fine for a three star, but you are paying for five star which it doesn't live up to.
Cons: It's tricky one hostess was very helpful and another one yelled at us for canceling a cab, it was very strange. The beds are so hard, it was terrible. Also they don't have a bag room so the lobby is absolutely filled with bags because of all the tour groups. Also bar extremely overpriced. Overall it is extremely overpriced for what you get. Use that same amount and go stay in one of the traditional hotels in the cute part of town.

9,0 Excellent
Pros: Room was comfortable and you had everything you need. You can have a kid with you in a double size twin beds room - beds are wide enough for one adult and a kid. Hotel is located in the center, but not on the busiest street. I liked public bath in the 2rd floor.
Cons: Breakfast was very crowded and we hadn't enough time to had it, because when time was over, they started to close it and asked us to leave.

A stay at Hotel Vista Premio Kyoto Kawaramachi St. places you in the heart of Kyoto, within a 5-minute drive of Gion Corner and Heian Shrine. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff.
9,4 Excellent
Pros: I couldn't be happier with my stay at Hotel Vista Premio Kyoto Kawaramachi. I highly recommend this hotel if you're a city dweller. The hotel is centrally located to all the places you should visit in Kyoto City. It's a short walk to the famous Nishiki Market in one direction and wonderful little restaurants by the river at another. It's close to public transportation for day trips around other parts of town. The hotel staff is very helpful with directions and translation. Its not a luxury hotel but the room we stayed in was clean and orderly.
Cons: The beds are unusually firm! It may be a Japanese thing but it was the hardest bed I've slept in during my two weeks an Asia. I would not recommend this hotel if you need a soft mattress. I knew I needed a larger room because we were traveling with three suitcases and a standard Japanese hotel room would drive me crazy, so I booked a deluxe room with two singles because I was also afraid the queen bed was not large enough for my partner and I so we slept in twin beds like I Love Lucy which was totally fine for three nights.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect! The rooms were spacious. The staff goes above and beyond to help with every small detail. The location is right up next to the market where you can discover traditional food and crafts.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Good location and we hired bikes from the hotel for a day which was convenient. Also got a room upgrade as it was our honeymoon. Bed was comfortable and room was tidy.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Great convenient location! Helpful staff.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Good value for the money, and in general a good hotel. We went around kyoto by bus and there are several going almost directly to the hotel (don't repeat our mistake and walk with all the luggage from the train station). There are many restaurants and stores in the area, but no cars so its not too noisy. On the upper floor there is a coin laundry and you can borrow umbrellas from the hotel. The room even had a sturdy desk to hide under in case of earthquake.
Cons: The fridge was really noisy during the night but it was possible to turn it off so not a big issue.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was a very good stay - staff were very helpful in during check in and also helping us book the airport shuttle bus. Location was wonderful - close to shops, markets and main transport routes. Room was comfortable and breakfast was interesting (made from fresh farm produce). Will definitely stay there again.
Cons: All good.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality and kindness and cleanliness are impeccable. I absolutely love the breakfast. The staff helped me with all the addresses I tried to visit, even gave me maps. Everything was perfect. Tks Hotel vista Prêmio Kyoto and Arigatou Goszaimasu Japan!!!!
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Location was excellent, close to making shopping area. Big room for Japanese standard.
Cons: Staff not very friendly. Limited English with some staff. Concierge overwhelmed with people. Perhaps 2 at the desk would help. Very strict check out policy. Was not given a copy of my bill because I made the reservation over KAyak.
2,0 Mediocre
Cons: Okura was listed as luxury, which it was far from. We ended up not staying here after checking in as the rooms were not like they looked on the website and nothing about this hotel was luxury. It’s a very basic business hotel - oversized and questionable on cleanliness.

Pros: Excellent buffet with Japanese, American and European food; fresh fruits, cereals with various nuts seeds and dried fruits, bakery, egg station, asian food; freshly squized juices, etc
Cons: Access to swimming pool is extra, not included in the room rate. This is the norm in japan, while in Europe when you search for a hotel with indoor pool you know you can have access, and extra is only massages/treatments/etc..
9,1 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff, very helpful. Hotel seemed oriented towards the business traveller and more for the older Japanese population. That said, it was a very good, very comfortable hotel. Good value!
