Pros: Excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff. We were given an upgraded room on arrival. Room was spacious with four poster bed and the bathroom was large with a bath and shower. Evening meal was very good and an extensive choice for breakfast
Cons: larger parking area. Difficult to find a space when the hotel was busy
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was amazing. Very nice staff, lovely restaurant and very comfortable, pretty room with an amazing kind size bed. We came to celebrate our anniversary and the birthday of my husband but due to the current situation in Spain with the virus, we had to come back earlier and were not in a very good mood...... however, the detailed and attend attitude of the Staff allowed us to relax little bit and be able to enjoy our stay. The island is amazing , great Scottish breakfast (there are many options) with a nice view and birdsongs from the forest..... we got an Upgrade to a very, very pretty room that had a XVIII century style decoration.. Thank you to the entire team!! Hoping to come back in better circumstances!
10,0 Excellent
Cons: Idyllic
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The decor is beautiful. Soft furnishings, carpets and artwork all very tasteful and clearly good quality. Everywhere was very clean. We were offered a free upgrade to a four poster garden view room which was a nice touch. The staff were all very friendly and also very helpful. The breakfasts were excellent. A great choice and on both mornings our breakfasts were delicious. The complimentary toiletries were lovely and it was great to have a plug socket next to a mirror!
Cons: For us, the evening dining experience was the thing that disappointed. The 4 course Dinner was £55 per head which was very much the preferred option from the hotel's point of view. We knew from the website there was an alternative which we asked for at reception. This is a volume of food issue for us, not necessarily the cost. We were given the 4 course Dinner menu again at the table and again we asked for the alternative. Only 4 or 5 choices here and only salmon available as the fish choice. There was halibut on the other menu (which would have been my first choice had I been able to order it) but you couldn't interchange. I opted for the chicken dish which was a supreme with chips, steamed greens and a jus. It sounds harsh to say this was effectively chicken and chips but it wasn't much more and it cost £24 which we felt was excessive even allowing for the surroundings. My husband chose the pork belly which came with veg which he thought was average. This was £22. The wine list was expensive in our opinion. Our Montepulciano was £25. We feel it's a shame not to be able to eat from either menu without having to commit to 4 courses and also a shame from the Chef's point of view in terms of being able to showcase his repetoire to the broadest audience. A promising shower head in our bathroom but it did take a long time for the water to come out and then only luke warm at max.
6,0 Good
Pros: Comfortable bed and clean
Cons: Poor quality of the dinner and poor value for money.
9,0 Excellent
Cons: Room with stale smell on arrival
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff couldn't be more helpful, very relaxed hotel, rooms had recently been done up. Thoroughly enjoyed my time here!! Even in the rain the views were beautiful and my friends thought so too!!! And 2 courses for breakfast what's not to love!!
Cons: Lack of cider at the bar, but this is down to drinking it like a fish, 10 bottles should be enough but not with my group!!

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely loved the place!!! Food was exceptional, the room was cosy and staff couldn't do enough. Thank you to everyone for making our engagement week magical. :)
8,0 Excellent
Cons: bathroom was a bit tight between the toilet and the lav. Everything nice, clean and in excellent shape! Staff excellent.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The very nice view on the garden and the lake. The extra comfy king size bed. The nice breakfast, even if no buffet.
Cons: "Pricy" restaurant, no so cosy and stiff. I would recommend some nice restaurants in the area such as the Ardvasar Hotel Restaurant.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Wow, probably the nicest accommodation we had during our 10 day trip around Scotland. The room was beautiful, with a great view out over the water. Everything was perfect.
Cons: It was very expensive. We normally wouldn't have splurged to that extent but it was a last minute booking and we really wanted to see the Isle of Skye. There just wasn't anything else available in the budget range. Word of warning, Skye is really popular and high season lasts longer than elsewhere. You should book well ahead.
7,9 Good
Pros: Nice b&b but pricey.
Cons: Expensive. Off the beaten path.
7,0 Good
Pros: Lovely food including very good 5-course dinner menu and good choice of breakfast. The staff were all excellent, very hard working and always with a cheery and helpful temperament.
Cons: We were upgraded to room with se view, very nice, but much smaller than the 'more expensive' rooms that i have stayed in at other hotels. Small bathroom, OK for us but larger-build people might struggle.
7,9 Good
Pros: The bed was comfortable. The room had a good size and nice views. A good choice for breakfast with local products. Free room upgrade due to our Genius account that was nice.
Cons: It was a bit difficult to close the room door which could be annoying. The duvet for the bed was too small (right on the edge). We had the eggs royal for breakfast and the eggs were overcooked (the yolk was hard) which was a shame.
Kings Arms Hotel - Isle of Skye - Building

6,5 Good (1 710 reviews)
R1 445+
Overview Reviews
The Kings Arms Hotel is based in Kyleakin, a pretty village on the Isle of Skye with panoramic views across the Kyle of Lochalsh to mainland Scotland and with easy access routes to explore all of Skye. Dating back to the 1600s, the hotel is one of the oldest on the island. While it has a range of modern comforts, it still retains many traditional features, such as big, open fires. With 81 en suite bedrooms, most with stunning views and excellent facilities, this is the perfect place for those seeking a memorable stay in the heart of a truly breathtaking Scottish isle.
4,0 Okay
Pros: The lady on the bar was friendly and informative.
Cons: the rooms are small and old but clean. The main meal food was very poor. How about overcooked sea bass smothered in stodgy bernaise sauce. I did complain and they gave me a free drink. Not good. General staff attitude reflected an end of season lacklustre attitude to us and our travelling companions.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good
Cons: The breakfast tea was very weak.
7,9 Good
Pros: Availability and location
Cons: Nothing comes to mind
3,3 Mediocre
Pros: nothing
Cons: old hotel. you can really feel it but it doesn t give excuse to give us a room that was not clean and has a strange smell. There is a restaurant inside but cannot try it as you need to book in advance.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful anytime we had a question, or were looking for info on local sites. Location was pretty cool, being in a small village in scenic locale.
Cons: Rooms are bare minimum. Bed, shower, tv. Property says internet access, but found out not in rooms. You must sit in the lobby and compete with the 50 others off the tourist bus for bandwidth on the lone router. Facilities were run down. Carpet worn down, toilet paper holder missing, patchwork and repairs visibly evident. No air conditioning, no fans to check out. This place wouldn't be too bad if they put some money into bringing it out of the 70's and into the current century. Owners seem to accept mediocrity in what they offer. So much potential here! Need Internet access and fans in every room. Need to do some serious updating on facilities......new carpet, bathroom furnishings, etc. If you need a bed and shower for the night, and nothing more, this place will work for ya.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The location was the best placed for us, the breakfast was very good and plenty of it
Cons: The night that we stayed there the restaurant was full which was unexpected.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Great location -
Cons: Parking was an issue
5,0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Bed was very uncomfortable. There were inadequate toiletaries. Food was only passable in the restaurant. Rooms are very tired.
7,1 Good
Pros: The location is nice & the sunset in front of the building is sick! The Hungarian cleaner lady was 1super cute, she left a message in our room to wish us a nice stay on Skye! ❤️
Cons: The 'modern' part of the building is a bit sad, not as cute and welcoming as the front of the building. It was hard to open the windows in the rooms. The English Breakfast was not no nice, didn't feel fresh.

Pros: We were made to feel very welcome. The food was excellent. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed. Lovely beginning to a long weekend on Skye.
Cons: The grout in the bathroom was a bit tired and the light above the bathroom sink did not work. There wasn’t sufficient lighting to apply make up.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Isabelle and her staff were considerate, friendly and keen to meet our needs and requirements. We were there to celebrate my mother-in-law's 90th birthday and they all made her feel special. The location is scenic even in the rain, and can be viewed from the warm and comfortable lounge. The rooms are well furnished and decorated, also clean and warm with tea, coffee and milk in a mini fridge. The home made biscuits were lovely. Which brings me to the food. The taster menu was fantastic. The portions are delicate and small thank goodness or you wouldn't be able to get through them all. They are individually quite sympathetic to the low carb diet for type 2 diabetics. Even the sweet is on the healthy choice side. The breakfast is less sympathetic to the diabetic but choices have to be made. The porridge is amazing and the mini scones served warm with the toast are delicious. I particularly like the egg benedict and my husband the full Scottish.
Cons: Really can't think of anything.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: Bed was very comfortable and en-suite facilities were good.
Cons: No issues
9,4 Excellent
Pros: Our rental car broke down on the peninsula drive. We had no cell phone signal. A tour bus gave us a 37 mile ride back to the Broadford where we had reservations for the night. Most inns would have said ,"That's too bad." Everyone a the Broadford did whatever they could to help us remedy our dilemma. They went far beyond their duty. The inn was comfortable. The custom cooked breakfast was delicious.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: motorbike friendly. The room was spacious, clean and co.fortable and a real plus was it had the most comfortable deep bath. The owner and the hotel manager were so lovely. The staff were new but they were so keen and did their very best. With training these guys will definitely be delivering a 10/10 stay. I would definitely return
Cons: Ok this might seem petty but I ordered a roast Beef dinner and they served me Aunt Bessies Roast potatoes and the beef was not from a joint. it was tough as old boots. However! My hubby had a deep pie and it was beautiful I had proper food envy and yes I sulked
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Nice views from dinning room, clean and comfortable rooms very nice and clean
Cons: Just one thing front reception carpets dirty and worn its not a good impression to start with but rest of hotel good !!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful building and Victor was very helpful and polite a lovely young man, nothing was to much trouble,
9,0 Excellent
Pros: What a surprise, our room had a sitting area as well as the bed room. The bathroom was a great size. The decor was unusual. Lovely bedside lamps made from stags horn. More than enough tea, coffee and milk. Comfy bed. Staff friendly and evening meal in restaurant excellent.
Cons: Found the room was a bit too warm so opened the window to cool down a bit.
