Pros (+) Elegant surroundings, friendly staff, excellent location. We are glad we booked with the breakfast plan because the buffet with “Royal” options was awesome.
Cons (-) I’m a Starwood member and was told at checkin that I’d receive a 10% discount on restaurants, spa etc at the Royal as well as the affiliate hotels. The gentleman said it would be deducted from the fin...

Pros (+) The hotel itself is quite beautiful. Though there is a very small pool, the pool deck is very comfortable and private. There is a fabulous view of Diamond Head on the beach. It's also not a mega hotel...
Cons (-) Our room seemed small. There were too many reasons we had to call for help, including repairs to the room and keys not working. All resolved, but annoying. I don't think a hotel of this caliber should...

Pros (+) Location is tops, literally the best part of Waikiki Beach fronts the hotel. Amazing history, second only to the Moana Surfrider. Very romantic, but not much stuff to do for kids.
Cons (-) AC in historic wing could be better. Pool is very small. Not sure why families bring kids here, they'd be much happier at one of the bigger resorts (including the Sheraton right next door).
