10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent. Good selection of both freshly cooked items and on the Continental style buffet. Service as you would expect, excellent! Evening meal of a matching standard. Accommodation clean comfortable and very oldy worldy, totally in keeping with the the building and its location. Staff accommodating, friendly and chatty. On leaving, we were presented with a small travel "goody bag". Very thoughtful touch!
Cons: An observation and not a criticism! The two person tables were a bit small ergo not a lot of surface room. Again, only an observation, the lift between the bar and kitchen was a bit noisy but acceptable.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and food in general was excellent. Clean and friendly service with a varied and interesting menu both for breakfast and evening meal. There was a lot on intention to keeping the pub clean which was refreshing.
Cons: The sound from the kitchen extraction units were loud and as we were tired from the journey we tried an early sleep which proved difficult. Apart from that no other complaints and would recommend the pub to others
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely old building, very central, lovely atmospheric bar/restaurant, fantastic staff very helpful and friendly, very, very good breakfast beautifully cooked and presented. Didn't eat there in the evenings but I'm sure it would have been fantastic.
Cons: Bedrooms are quite small and there is no lounge where you can sit. There was a wood burner with a sofa and two armchairs but there was always someone sitting there. I'm being a bit picky but for the cost of the room, a soap dish in the shower and a flannel would have been helpful.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and evening meals were excellent and clearly locally sourced. Nice touches in the (nicely quirky) bedroom (mini-cookies, herbal teas, natural soaps etc)

Pros: I liked the central location of the hotel and the fact that it was very clean. The breakfast was very good. I was extremely pleased to see that John is still working for the Hotel.
Cons: I didn’t like the fact that the jacuzzi was out of action for the whole of our stay due to a chemical unbalance. Having a jacuzzi of our own I’m surprised this was not rectified within a day or so. Whilst the hotel is lovely it does lack atmosphere. Did not receive the wake up call requested this morning.

6,3 Good
Pros: Cooked breakfast was good. Nice gardens. Good selection of books.
Cons: Very much off the beaten track. Once we returned from a day out we didn’t want to venture out onto the narrow roads again for dinner. A better location for walkers and I probably should have researched the location in greater detail before booking. Didn’t appear to be much choice other than full English as a breakfast.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was as others have described less like staying at a hotel and more like staying with friends who have a really cool house. We loved the honesty bar tab, the bed was amazing. You had to climb into it. The Fingals bespoke toiletries were lovely.
Cons: It was all good thanks
7,5 Good
Pros: The setting is very pleasant with excellent gardens and tennis court
Cons: The owners have 2 dogs which are very frisky and upset the younger children by chasing after them.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Unique beautiful location. Charming friendly staff. Comfortable beds and delicious breakfast
7,2 Good
Pros: The wonderful relaxing atmosphere and the feeling of being 'at home' away from home. Richard and Sheila were amazing hosts. Most of the other guests were 'regulars'.
Cons: Dinner. Sadly, due to loss of their chef of many years, they tried to cater for us all themselves. The main course was almost raw and vegetables were cold. Starters very unimaginative and the sweet course almost as bad. This, however, is a one off unlucky situation but wouldn't like to repeat it. It was my Christmas present to my Fiance which was extremely disappointing.

Pros: The free and easy atmosphere, the welcome and the aura of the hotel was completely relaxing and home from home. No stuffed shirts here!!!
Cons: The food was only mediocre expected more for the price, the chef tries too hard!!! There were too many flavours which interacted and blew away my tastebuds!

5,0 Okay
Pros: The hotel was in beautiful countryside, the rooms were comfortable.
Cons: The lift broke down and there was no other means of those with poor mobility to access the ground floor. Two members of our party had mobility problems and were unable to carry their luggage up the stairs when leaving. This fell to other members of the party to do. Hotel staff did not offer to assist. Climbing up the stairs was slow and painful for the two elderly guests. Breakfast was very slow and portions were not at all generous. As we had an early appointment, 2 of the party were unable to wait for their cooked breakfasts. Compared to most Best Westerns, and other hotels I have stayed in, breakfast was very poor value for money.
6,0 Good
Pros: Nice quiet location. Breakfast was OK. Room clean. Dinner OK as well.
Cons: Disappointed that I was given a room at the back, even though the hotel was not full. I had to pay extra to get a room on the golf course. Bed was small and windows do not open. The sink mixer is old and does not function properly. We had children at the room above us and we could hear them running every morning and evening. The heater was old and not easy to use, sometimes we ended up with a cold room. For what we paid I expected much better.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great stay, we were upgraded to a bigger room with a view, good facilities and tasty food in a restaurant, a lot of parking available. Very quiet and a massive comfortable bed plus plenty of choice for a breakfast.Highly recommended
Cons: Nothing
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The room itself was great value for money, friendly and helpful staff, very good location and reasonable price for a pair of mens swimming trunks in the sports shop. We would stay here again (minus eating in). The recycling policy is mostly very good but single use plastic tubs of milk in rooms, with no alternatives not so great.
Cons: For two vegans and one of us meant to eat mostly GF, the food was sadly lacking! We didnt ask ahead because we didnt know how much time we would have to eat on site and to be fair, the chef offered to do us a vegan meal for dinner that night but after eating a very small and average veggie burger and wedges (with no salad - not very healthy) at lunchtime which cost over £30 for 2, with two coffees, we decided to eat out and even avoid breakfast. Come on Dartmouth Hotel! Please move into the 21st century food-wise, with some flair and imagination. The only other complaints were lack of clear info on using the spa and facilities (ie who really reads the full guide in their rooms - a few laminated signs would not go amiss), where to order coffees to have with meal and lack of a decent walking route on site, though we understand it is due to insurance restrictions with there being a golf course. The spa facilities are small for such a large site but clean and again, good value when part of your stay.

Cons: Noisy heating in room

Pros: The room wad big and the beds were really comfortable the food was also very nice.
