Pros:Staff was good pickup and drop off was good, vehicle was dirty inside even with a sanitized seal on the door. I had to vacuum the inside before loading it for our trip. The right rear tire had a slow leak and i had to add air air few days to turn the warning light off. The vehicle needed some repairs, the tires were out of balance and vibrated the entire two thousand mile trip. The alignment was off and the vehicle pulled to the right, just enough to give me a sore arm at the end of the trip. The brakes vibrated bad on moderate to hard braking. I informed the drop off clerk of the problems and he thanked me for the information but offered nothing in the way of an apology. We were helping with our granddaughters wedding and had no time to return and or replace the vehicle on this trip.Cons:The vehicle could have been clean and in good repair.Reviewed May 12 2021

Hidden costsPros:Quick check in an out.Cons:Promised EZ Pass was not in the car. My final cost was twice what was quoted, probaby because I returned the car 45 min late. Also, the GPS cost was for two days instead of one.Reviewed Oct 17 2018

GoodPros:The convenience and price was the factor of this rental. Was thinking it was a bit more SUV like but served its purpose driving across country on a one-way rental. Had several scary moments due to the brakes needing maintenance.Reviewed May 15 2016

Cons:Picking up the car was great, staff was very helpful and friendly. At drop off , however the opposite is true. First of all, my credit card was charged multiple times for "mistaken" charges at drop off that would not have been corrected unless I called (amounting to $270+ overcharge). Company was very unclear about some drop off locations utilizing other hertz locations for after hours drop off in Manhattan. Won't rent with them again, will choose pricier companies due to Hertz's complexity/unclear pricing at drop offReviewed Feb 28 2016

Hertz in Virginia was not interested in my safetyPros:Location for pickup Buffalo Airport Hertz team made everything right. My car from Buffalo had good tread, a snowbrush and windshield washer solution that did not freeze on contact. Manager made ammends from Buffalo.Cons:1. Winchester VA Hertz team continued to defend their poor customer service even uppon return. 2. Argued that tires were just above the "legal standard" when I said I had misgivings as I was driving into Lake Effect snow region. No common sense. 3. I was right- the car's tires were inadequate and dangerous to the point I drove 50 miles AFTER my destination in a snowstorm to swap out a like kind of car with good tires in Buffalo. 4. No snowbrush (try that in 12" of snow) 5, Washer solution was water- froze on contact. 6. Hertz VA told me to stay home instead of driving the car I rented Buffoon.Reviewed Feb 18 2016
